I HAD ONE DRINK. I repeat ONE drink, and have never felt the way I did having a drink from this place versus any other place. For starters when I asked for something simple like a rum and pineapple, the bartender asked me double or single. To which I was confused, I never had to tell a bartender at the other local bars for a "double or single". It was a tall, slender, white woman with tattoos and black hair. She seemed very greeting yet very distanced in the way she talked, almost as if she wanted to reel me in but not let me know what was happening. Second, it is not until that I am more than halfway finished with my drink and done that I feel a little more than tipsy. I never let myself get past anything than being that, so being more than that set off an alarm for me personally. My friends tried reassuring me I was fine and needed to eat something-- which is my third reason. Lastly, even upon eating something and resting for 2 WHOLE HOURS (you'd think it'd be gone by this time). However I was spinning, I felt like throwing up, I was nauseous, my body was shaking and having muscle spasms, all I could think was to call to have someone check up on me. I've heard stories about places like this in Asbury that like to drug or roofie people, Porta being a very well known one. But the last thing I expected was for Wonder Bar to follow suit. I had THREE, count em, THREE rum and pineapples at the Paradise bar in Asbury andI feel perfectly fine. I feel as if people should definitely do their research before trusting randomly employed people who is essentially a stranger to them. If you're in it and willing to risk your health for a drink, then I will not stop you and you can disregard this. But if you do care about your health and the health of those around you, please do take caution with this bar and the surrounding bars in the area. And try to establish a good relationship and trust with your bartender and place of choice!
Moral is: one drink shouldn't be having a person feeling that way.
