Wonderbar Athens

Wonderbar is a staple in Athens. I’ve loved coming here for years and thoroughly enjoy my experience each time. Depending on who is working you’ll have different music playing, but the vibes are always there! Mary is fast and efficient and always looking to help guests as they come to the bar, even when it’s slammed. Thanks for keeping Athens fun!

Wonderbar has been my go-to spot since moving to Athens! The specialty cocktails are always a hit—you have to try the Starburst shot. The place is packed with entertainment: video games, arcade games, table games, and theme nights! Also Wonderbar might just have the cleanest bathroom in all of downtown Athens. Whether you’re local or just visiting, Wonderbar is definitely worth checking out!

Drinks were fine. I guess reasonably priced. But to go to an arcade bar for them to only have arcade one up machines is a bit of a let down honestly. The space is small, not many games. Overall just a weird vibe compared to other arcade bars I've been to

So much fun. I'm very electric and entertaining environment. Amazing customer service and friendly staff. Highly recommend! The snack food is amazing you can get boiled peanuts!

Love the selection of games. Watched a lady beat the breaks off some guys in MarioKart. Got kicked around in MK11. Overall great and humbling experience.

Cool vibe, weak drinks: Really chill place to hang out, lots of games to choose from, even if you brought your own I dont think its a big deal, staff is always friendly and its clean. And its fun to game with strangers who pop in. Big downside is their drinks are very weak! I am an infamous light weight to those who know me, I had 3 cocktails in about 1.5hrs and felt basically nothing. Normally I shouldn't be able to walk straight after that many drinks. And no it didn't hit me later on. Ive tried to get poop faced at this place before and it was the same deal. Their drinks are on permanent easy mode. Weak sauce.

Parking can also be a bit of a challenge, so consider the deck or carpooling if you're coming with a group. Overall, Wonderbar is a total win for a fun night out. It's got something for everyone – great drinks, classic games, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you're a local legend or just visiting Athens, this spot is worth checking out. Small bar with some games. Depending on the bartenders working it will either be really fun or the vibe will be really bad. Really amazing creative shots and drinks. Not really a place where my friends and I stay a whole night but we will go and take a couple of shots and play some games or connect 4 for a while before we head to a different bar.

Wonderbar is a super fun college bar. My BF and I stopped in to play some games and ending up staying longer than intended due to pouring rain, but if we had to get stuck somewhere, Wonderbar was a winner. We both enjoyed playing video games but there was also a foosball table in the back and multiple board games. I tried a couple of the drinks and one of the shots, and each one confirmed that this is a sweet drink lover's nirvana. The shot I tried was the Jolly Rancher which didn't taste like the candy but was still delicious. I had the Strawberry Limeade and Hawaiian Punchout cocktails which were fruity and tasty. Don't expect to get a buzz on these drinks though - they are strictly for taste and looks. I had a bit of a wait at the bar due to some diligent attention to some regulars but the bartender made it up to me with a comp'ed drink. It was my birthday so I graciously accepted the gift. They had a live DJ on the Saturday night we visited, and he was AH-MAY-ZING. He played a great combination of hip hop and pop music at a decent level to dance to but didn't make you have to shout to talk to anyone. He was great and should bring his skills to Atlanta. They serve snack food like hot dogs - easy things to cook that are cheap and fit into a college students' budget. If I'm ever in Athens again, I'd definitely give Wonderbar another visit.

I HAD TO HAVE A GIRL TO ORDER FOR ME!!! Sat at the bar for 43 minutes, none of the four bar tenders asked me for my order. I was forced to pay a girl to order my drinks for me. I had to ask a girl to lean over the bar to order my two shots. This was 49min after I sat down at the bar and then they took the order. If you don't have big boobs don't go to this bar!!!

Wonderbar is Athens' tiny video game bar, beloved of nerds and weirdos of all kinds. Inventive, geeky cocktails are complemented by the Nintendo 64 games projected on the walls. It's easy to play with friends or enjoy a friendly pickup game with a stranger on one of the consoles or board games laying around.

The best bar in Athens, hands down! Great selection of craft beers, original cocktails and shooters that taste great, Mariokart, Connect four, Jenga, and snacks...what more could you ask for?! Not only is it a fun, entertaining place with a great atmosphere, the staff is incredibly friendly and attractive. I make a point to hang out at Wonderbar every time I'm out and about in downtown Athens, definitely my new favorite bar!

Great concept but there were not a lot of options for video games and some of the ones they did have didn't work. We ended spending most of the time there playing Battle Ship. Good beer and sangria.

Love the free cheeseballs and lunchables. The quality of this restuarant is GREAT! The staff are amazing, especially the owner.

Small bar with a videogame geek theme. Several coin machines as well as a couple of consoles for freeplay and boardgames on shelves around the bar. The staff is friendly and their prices are decent. The shooters are delicious, especially the Breakfast shot.

Kinda slim pickings on the games, but the beer was cold and the price was right.

Really great time! If you're looking for something different in Athens dt, I definitely recommend. This place truly has something for everyone: nintendo on the big screen for free, baseball or some kind of sports playing on the other projector. Then theres jenga and connect four and tons of other games so you aren't just standing around and drinking. Great place to meet new people, and we like to come here to pregame :) The drinks are delicious by the way, I'd recommend the yoohoo mudslide or a chocolate pretzel shot, so good!

Asked bartender what the drink specials were.....she didn't know....So I figured I'd buy a Bud Light.....Was charged $3.50 for a Bud Light.....highway robbery for downtown Athens, GA. Stay away from this place, go to Boar's Head or AllGood.

What an awesome place, great atmosphere and the staff is exceptional. Prices are great and place is super clean. One of the tops in Athens!
