Wonderville is a chill barcade in Bushwick, serving inventive hot dogs and cool cocktails while offering a free lineup of indie arcade games and nightly events.
"Bushwick’s best drinking spots usually double as Bushwick’s best art spaces, and in Wonderville’s case, an indie arcade. A lot of people come in here to play Kung Fu Kickball until their eyes bleed, or join a tournament for Killer Queens—the world’s only 10-player arcade game. Even more people file in at night for live music, burlesque shows, and open VCR events. Wonderville welcomes anything coming out of the Brooklyn arts community, and most of it is free. Save a few more bucks during Happy Hour, when you can get a beer and shot for $6, and knock a dollar off drafts and well drinks. " - Neha Talreja, Bryan Kim
"Wonderville is a barcade with a rotating display of independently created games, and live music, video game tournaments, board game nights, and other events every day. The creativity on display here is cool as sh*t—from games inspired by Japanese psychedelic rock and the Bosozoku motorcycle culture to a riot grrrl racing game with kawaii Grand Theft Auto vibes. There’s a full bar with good cocktails named after beloved game characters, and they serve great hot dogs crafted by Randwiches topped with things like turmeric kimchi and Kewpie mayo." - bryan kim, neha talreja, kenny yang
"At Wonderville, you can play independently-made arcade games and catch nightly live music, performances, and video game tournaments. This Saturday looks especially fun, with a live hardware-based hip hop collaborative show featuring DJs, a live set from Nota Gami, and breakdancing from Floor Militia. Grab a drink and one of Randwiches’ hot dog creations at the bar, and don’t leave without playing the rotating selection of games. The current game lineup includes the intriguing Bumblebear’s Black Emperor, a game inspired by Japanese psychedelic rock and the Bosozoku motorcycle culture of the '70s." - neha talreja
