Wood Ranch

We went on a Friday night for a casual dinner at around 8:15. We were seated right away. Good service, good selection of food and drinks. We shared the artichoke dip and a sandwich. Both were good. We were also given garlic rolls which were delicious. We would go back. Good atmosphere with a lot of people and a casual vibe.

Great tasting BBQ. The staff is really nice and good at their jobs. Comfortable seating. The only problem is the portions are a little small.

Michelle Host, Jennifer Manager and Raul the server (Ven.) , all of the team staff were great and always with an amazing attitude and smile in their face. Had a great time over there, food was amazing and ambient too. My only complaint is about the parking… only valet and every parking in the street was taken, and even with a huge parking lot empty… they don’t allow you to park by yourself, asking for $10 for a valet parking… seems to be unfair. Had the Hot Spinach Artichoke Dip with Tortillas Garlic Bread Half Roasted Chicken 4 Beef Ribs, and the sides were absolutely delicious!

Food was delicious! Definitely recommend the corn and rolls! Waitress was very nice! Super clean environment including bathrooms which is always nice! 10/10

This to me is a generous rating. We were not expecting an ultimate best steak dinner and expectations we’re actually low. Food was decent. Unfortunately, service wasn’t that great. Our server somehow got the order wrong and I wish he would have just apologized and fixed the issue. He came back at our table and said we ordered what they brought to our table. The manager did her best to rectify but perhaps it was too late, our server hardly came back to our table and see if we needed anything else. I wish it was a better service. I could observe another server was really taking care of his table from start to end, very friendly to guests.

Jesse was a great host, we appreciate him serving us and helping us with the requests we had. We told him our mom had to eat soft foods due to a recent surgery and he was able to fulfill her food request. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great!

Very good food, served in a nice restaurant, with a nice ambiance. Overall, a great dining experience in a really convenient location.

I came here for my birthday dinner with medium expectations. As the reviews looked decent. I ordered the bbq pulled pork sandwich with the corn side. The server failed to mention the corn was extremely spicy/hot. The sandwich was extremely dry. I asked for a side of bbq sauce, and the bbq sauce was watery and very unpleasant. So we asked for another side of bbq sauce for the ribs, that was unpleasant as well. I don’t usually write reviews. But for the price, it’s not worth it. Rosie’s bbq is 100% better and half the price. Safe yourself the time and money and go somewhere else

Amazing BBQ flavor and clean interior. It's dim inside so it gives a more intimate feeling when you are eating. The booths are all comfy and soft. It smells delicious inside. On the way to the bathrooms, you get an amazing ciew of the smoky fresh grill rolling out their dishes. My girlfriend and I shared the full rack of baby back ribs and found them delicious, chewy, and perfectly meaty enough (sometimes ribs are so little in meat, you just peel off a layer and they're gone!). The amazing addition too is the garlic bread rolls given to you throughout the course of the meal. This is a wonderful restaurant with delicious courses offered. Parking is tough as expected in Los Angeles but we were able to get a good spot beside it with metered parking. There's a lot behind that is for valet service.

60$ dollar meal and you guys give me 1 roll. Wow. I paid for 1 so where is my 2cnd complimentary?? Usually you guys put 5-6 at every other location. People just don't care about anything anymore Also received no sour cream onions or chives just a plain potato. For 60$ you guys should be ashamed whoever put together this to go order. WOW.

I ordered delivery from here and although the food was basically good, I think the food I recently ate at the Chino Hills location stood out more. For some reason, tri-tip wasn't available for delivery, but that was fine. I tried the baby back ribs and brisket. Some of the reviews made the baby back ribs sound excellent, but they didn't stand out to me. The brisket surprised me because the texture was very soft, not what I'm used to. The mac and cheese was very average and the mashed potatoes that I really liked at the Chino Hills location didn't seem as flavorful. Even the peanut slaw could have used more dressing. Overall, the delivery order was packed very well and securely and arrived promptly, but I think my fascination with Wood Ranch has waned a bit when it comes to the taste of the food.

Wood Ranch in Brentwood is a true gem! My recent visit left me thoroughly impressed with their delicious food and good service. We ordered the beef ribs and chicken combo paired with mac and cheese and a loaded baked potato and it was fire! However, the true star of the meal was the wood fire blackened salmon, an absolute hidden gem on their menu that has quickly become my new favorite. Thanks to Taylor, our server, for her great recommendation! She was also very friendly, attentive, and professional. She ensured our experience was nothing short of perfect. Additionally, the manager, Jennifer, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Her recommendations were spot-on, and her personal touch made us feel right at home! Very good service from the team here! Overall, Wood Ranch in Brentwood Los Angeles is a must-visit for anyone looking for fantastic food, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

What a great time! Spent close to 4 hours with a very close friend and we were never rushed, though admittedly we kept ordering food and drink! There's spotty street parking, or use the lot next door to the South, with valet for $8. Inside, the place was moderately busy with a good buzz from the crowd. Candace was our server and was friendly and insanely efficient. Started with a couple Woodford Reserve Old Fashions - and had several more through the night. Added the garlic butter rolls and a full order of onion rings. As those were polished off my friend ordered the beef ribs. I had to chide her because my go-to is always the baby backs, which I had. Yet she shared some of her beef ribs and I have to say I'll place that order next time. Tender, delicious meat on both selections. We each had the same sides of the Peanut Cole Slaw and the Cauliflower. Shared an order of the Wood Ranch Butter Cake for dessert. Great location! Definitely doing it again!

I've had bbq from here a few times and loved it, but today ordered takeout via doordash and was really surprised to see that the brisket I received was mostly inedible fat (and yes, I know brisket is fatty :) so attaching a pic since it was an unfair proportion of fat to meat). This level of service is really surprising to me - not sure how it happened but put a bad taste in my mouth, especially given the price point.

The food here is great. I'm sure the service is excellent too and the ambiance as well, but my experience has been with their delivery. The pecan wood smoked ribs are absolutely fire delicious. They are savory and the meat is succulent. The meat falls of the bones. There are no better beef ribs that I know of in this city and Bludsoe's, nor JR's or anybody else comes close. Thanks for this Wood Ranch Grill!

We have had some positive experiences before with Doordash and this restaurant, which is why this review has 2 stars. However, this time around the brisket was mostly fat as you can see in the picture. Barely any meat and paid for just fat that went to the trashcan.

This place looks just like the last restaurant it used to be called Banderas! It's great to see they have Wood Ranch here because the food was delicious and very similar to my old hang out. Apparently there is music as entertainment I believe on Wednesday and Thursdays. I thought Maestros Butter cake was the best but this one is amazing too! We had the guacamole and chips, and shared a burger which was delicious. Service was great too, quick, and very friendly.

I've been to this Wood Ranch location 12 times now since it's opened. For the most part, the food is always consistent and I always enjoy my meal. On rare occasion I've had to return something, but it always comes back in tiptop shape. If you want to save a few bucks, share a large rack of ribs and a salad and you can be out of here for $50-$60 for two people. If you don't want to go Econo they will be glad to set you up with big meals. But sharing the rack of ribs and two sides, and a salad usually works for me.

I Had Dinner Here As Usual. The Steak and Salad Were Good But The Chicken Was Undercooked. I'm A Senior With Some Disabilities And When I Asked The Manager Natalie For Some Assistance She Was Very Rude To Me And Made Me Feel Small . The Rest Of The Staff Has Always Been Nice. But I'm Not Sure That I Will Ever Return.

Had dinner tonight at this location, food was delicious and the ambiance was calm. They had wine Tuesday tonight and it was such a nice experience. What made it even better was our sever Amanda. She was so courteous, profesional and most of all personable. I don't think people realize how important it is to get good customer service. It can really make it break your experience, mine anyway. Will definitely be back to this location.

Bottom-line:Supplanted by a restaurant that fell victim to the pandemic, the California franchisee Wood ranch is okay, but only if you order the right item. What not to order: Ribs/brisket. Brisket tastes almost like a pot roast. Absence of any smokiness in the flavor. Ribs were mostly all bone and sinew without any tenderization to the meat. What to order: The grilled chicken and Steak. Super pricey, but they will do. Notice the the criss-cross markings from the grill. Yeah, that's a good sign. Tastes great. However, is it nearly fifty dollars good? Heck no.

The short: A casual yet sophisticated setting, with good service and adequately decent food and drinks. The long: Yeah, that's not quite a rave review, is it? My friend and I were looking for a no fuss dining solution that wasn't exotic and would not require us to sense nuanced flavors, so Wood Ranch it was to be. Understand that one does not come here for the healthful items (or which there are a few selections) -- you come for the things that will have a deleterious effect on your health. For instance, the fried onions: minimal greasiness, not overly breaded -- unhealthy, but done very well. - Baby back ribs: cooked well, but too heavily overly sauced. - Half chicken breast: same as the ribs. - Beef ribs: pretty good. - Baked potato: it's a baked potato. - Street corn: a nice rendition. - Garlic rolls: too much garlic and somewhat stale. - Beer: a slim tap selection (I think only 3), but at least they have beers on tap, so, um, yeah. Many more varieties in bottles and cans. Doesn't seem like a 4-star review, does it? So, why am I giving 4 of those suckers? Mainly for the ambiance; Maybe it's me pining for the 1970s and 80s, but I like dark comfortable places like this. I also like the waitstaff. I find myself coming back here every few months. I'm never blown away, but it's a comfort, like mac and cheese (which is slso good here)

We love coming here and sitting a the bar. The food is great and the service, especially Michael the bartender rock!

Food was okay. Steak was way very chewy. Appetizers were good. Service was good. Our waiter was kind, attentive, and polite. I was not a fan of the prices. Food wasn't good enough. It's overpriced. I would recommend for a last minute get together, but not my first choice. It's a quiet place large enough lots of room, lots table privacy.

The food here is great! I love their salads and veggie burger and my kids love the ribs! Fair prices and generous portions! Their free rolls are tasty and the service always friendly. Clean and well run. Nice dining option for the area, their homemade bbq sauces are delicious too!

First time being here and first thing I noticed was that the food had no flavor. I got the pulled pork and it had no flavor and had to use BBQ sauce on every bite. Spent $100.00 and would have expected better quality. Personally, I wouldn't come back because of the food had no flavor. Had to rush home because got the runs on the way home.

I order their mashed potatoes a lot. They are quite good, and they have different sizes, which is nice. I highly recommend them.

This place brands itself as a fancy, date-night, dinner-only, chain restaurant. They open at 5pm and offer $8 valet parking in back. So let's get into it... Food was really solid. Meaning it wasn't unbelievable but just really good and about what you would expect for the price, which is on the higher side. For example the spinach artichoke dip was $18 and a burger is $22. Honestly I would say they specialize in meat so consider getting pulled pork or ribs of some kind. Our server told us he'd been with them a while and he was indeed a very good server. Refills to our diet cokes came before we had to ask. That's always nice. The plate runner didn't know who ordered what, but that's not a big deal. It gives them something to work on. The bathroom was clean, that's important to me, but they didn't refill the microbahn in the baby changing table so it's obvious the manager isn't a male with a baby. LOL. You are able to look at the grill and all the different meats being cooked on your way to the bathroom. Very appetizing indeed. I also noted a framed American flag on the wall in the hallway; patriotic but not overly in-your-face. The weirdest part of the evening was when they turned the lights off in the restaurant mid-service. Everything just went dark, like candle light and accent light only. I guess they were switching to romance mode but it probably should've been put on a dimmer. The portions are large enough to have leftovers and the bread rolls are uncommonly delicious. I shall return again and if my next meal is just a little better and there are baby wipes in the men's changing station I will upgrade this review to 5 stars.

Another excellent experience. Smaller portions maybe. Still good value. Cauliflower was too soft, asparagus ok. All the meat was great. Rolls are very good.

The place is beautiful the hostess are nice the waitress Mirna was trying hard to be nice, but it was very difficult for her. The food was horrible. The only thing that I enjoyed where the rows I had the rib combination the coleslaw was a joke with nuts in it the macaroni velveta It was horrible and my girlfriend had salmon for $30 which was farm raised. The only thing I enjoyed was the baked potato and the rolls after she raved about the place, I thought it was going to be so good but it was not and I will not be returning especially due to the service run if you have Mirna as a waitress she hates her job or people of color it was hard for her to tolerate me so sorry to upset you I will not be returning no worries it's a joke the combo meat was tough couldn't cut it or chew it, and the ribs weren't good. The barbecue sauce wasn't great the macaroni tastes like Velveeta and mush, parking is $9 no validation

Food was very tasty and my salmon was very fresh. The rest of my party ate the ribs and were very happy. When you make reservations there make sure they confirm while you are on the line. The hostess could not find ours

We went over there on Friday night. I got the Ethan's Brisket Sandwich. My friend got the Wood Ranch Tri Pi. Everything was on point. The service was fast and the waitress was very nice. I really recommend this place. For parking : valet or street parking.

We had the most wonderful experience at the Wood Ranch in Brentwood. Not only was the food delicious, Mirna and managers, Tim and Justin went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! They hand picked literally the best rib eye they had, recommended a super tasty corn dish and made us feel beyond wonderful. We highly recommend eating here!

The smoke brisket is to die for and recommend getting it with their incomparable and mouth watering mashed sweet potatoes laced with ground pineapple! Mmmmm! Also their fresh coleslaw is a generous and fresh salad replacement unless you have a peanut allergy.

I'm getting annoyed with this place. 20 min hold times. 2 hour delivery time - and it's a bait and switch type of delivery. Originally they stated 60 min delivery time, now magically 1 hour added. I wanted to cancel order, but I can't now. Will never order again. This chain SUCKS!!!! Food is ok, but not for 2 hour wait time.

I've been a customer for years at the Grove, till closing. We went last week to the Brentwood location and service was terrible by Matt (waiter). He never came to our booth and asked if we need anything. He then shoveled to-go containers and gave us a tab. He never even asked if we wanted anything else. I try not to give reviews much but this is an occasion that cannot and should not be tolerated! Ambiance is nice though. Matt should be talked to by the management.

A nostalgic staple of my childhood. I have been to multiple Wood Ranch locations and I have to say this is one of my favorites. Usually I am not that big of a fan of chain restaurants but Wood Ranch is one of the few exceptions in my book. Since I have moved to LA, it is hard to find restaurants that give you that feeling of home. Being in a city, there are new restaurants and lounges opening each week and although they are fun to try, restaurants like Wood Ranch that provide a feeling of familiarity and sense of belonging are way more appealing to me than a trendy and hip restaurant with a bunch of millennials taking selfies. (Sorry Elephante) Coming from someone who has quite literally tried everything on the menu here growing up, I would have to say their 'Garlic Rolls', 'Strawberry Lemonade', and 'BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad' would be my go-to if I was on death row and had to decide what my last meal would be. Also, their rolls are literally guaranteed to make you win any potluck party. Tried and true on multiple occasions. Although WR prides itself on its menu and good service, I have to say one employee here named Logan really motivated me to write this review because he truly deserves the shoutout. Logan made sure we were in good hands throughout our visit and was such a sweetheart. We got to talking with him and he is in college full-time and works at night and you would never know based on how hardworking this young man is. Warmed my heart. Employees like Logan deserve recognition and Wood Ranch is very lucky to have such a hardworking employee that is apart of their company. Also, he just happens to make the best 'Berry Smash' ever. Thank you Logan and Wood Ranch for yet another great experience!

Second time eating at this location. Limited hours on the weekdays.. come right after you finish your shift in the office. Ordered an Old Fashioned, Ribeye Steak, Chocolate Cake and a Cappuccino to top it off. Wife had the baby back ribs with the cauliflower side. Came out to about $160 for two including tip. On the high end as far as price point but it is located in Brentwood so I'm not shocked. I recommend if you're taking a date or got some co-workers that want to go for drinks when work is over. Horrible service, I came in TONIGHT to dine in at 5 pm and waited for 25 minutes before becoming annoyed by the fact that (no) one came over to my table to even greet me nor take my drink order!!! After waiting and waiting such a long time I noticed my table was basically being ignored by the restaurant manager and the staff. So, frustrated I walked over to the manager (Tim) to complain and I was told someone would come right over. Which they did but at that point I was annoyed! Look how disappointing is this... to be seated inside of an empty restaurant that's full of servers and managers walking the floor but NONE of them seem to be paying attention to guests at all. The entire restaurant staff were seemingly chit-chatting amongst themselves having a good time doing NOTHING. I really felt like a ghost to these people. Not one of them stopped to check on my table but at least 5 or more servers, hosts, and floor staff passed by my table all not PAYING ATTENTION to my table. The restaurant staff are (all) not prepared in guest relations and customer service and are not properly trained. This is absolutely appalling and disgusting the managers here need to be fired! They obviously hire all of their own family members and friends so they can do nothing but sit on the clock and watch the time go by. What's even worse the manager Tim was the host tonight he was actually seating tables. But he never not once stopped to observe the guests in his restaurant to see how they were doing. He did not check on any of the tables that night - I watched him seat guests but not check on those guests at all. I even noticed a guest at a table of four bussing his own table. He came up to the bar several times to drop off dirty dishes. The manager Tim say his restaurant isn't hiring for servers well maybe they should because the server did not even remove dirty dishes from the guests table. The waiters at the restaurant did nothing but ignore guests which is rude. This is how bad the management is at this restaurant and how horrible the service is. The manager Tim is so horrible please don't excuse his bad behavior. By doing this you are ruining all guests dinning experiences, I did not say anything. I felt horrible for myself as well as others that night who were also ignored. This restaurant needs to hire a new manager who is caring, compassionate, dedicated, and attentive someone who can also hire good waiters who are also attentive and passionate about their jobs.

The service here is always very nice. I've shown up with and without reservations around 6PM and have been seated immediately on weekdays. The food is pretty good for the price. I'd say the tri-tip so far has been the best thing I've tried. Very juicy meat with a great sauce on it. The mac and cheese has a very full flavor, and the pan roasted corn tastes amazing. The corn actually reminds me a lot of street corn on the cob (Mexican style) which is a great thing. As for the mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower, I felt they were a bit plain and wouldn't order them again. As for the beef ribs, they were definitely a hearty portion, but I felt the flavor relied too much on the sauce and the meat itself wasn't as flavorful on its own. Not bad, but again, would go with another option next time. As for the restaurant, it's got a nice vibe overall. Darkly lit and always warm makes it a great refuge from the winter wind. Last time I went a great guitarist softly played some acoustic cords of popular songs, so that was very pleasant for my date night.

The food was really good I had the burger with French fries and my boyfriend had the chicken sandwhich and Mac and cheese which he really liked. The service was good they kept checking in on us if we needed anything and were polite. The ambiance was good as well. Overall it was a great place to have a date night at definitely recommend trying

Had dinner there earlier today for a 7:15 reservation. Everything was good until we got our entrees and noticed that one of our entrees, a baby back 5 ribs was burnt. It was flipped over covering the other side which was completely burnt - not sure why the kitchen would even send something like that out. BBQ is supposed to be charred, not burnt. We sent it back. Of course, the rest of the party continued to eat and it ruined our dinner because one person wasn't able to eat. The waiter brought back a new plate of ribs, but it only had ribs. Ok, most of the fries were eaten but there was some left. Other restaurants would re-plate it nicely with at least some fries. C'mon. It was kind of messed up. I don't know if that was a server or kitchen issue. I said there were some fries, so she went and put an order of fries in. We waited for that too. Our server's attitude wasn't the best - in situations like that, I expect a full apology for having ruined our dinner and a comped entree. It was more like, OK, I'll get you another one, and only after saying a few times that the ribs were burnt was the only time she had said "Sorry." Like thanks, I guess two of us will finish our dinner while the other person just sits watching us. The restaurant needs to train the servers better. And of course, that entree was NOT comped. This was too bad because the server started great then seemed like she didn't know or didn't want to deal with this. I liked this place but today's experience ruined it for me. Never going back.

I really enjoyed this spot! A steakhouse feel but still casual but also a restaurant vibe. Cute spot for a date night or even girls night. Or after work local watering hole. They also have valet that is a flat rate which is great since Wilshire Ave is so busy and having to not have think about parking is also great! They have amazing buttery garlic bread rolls that you can keep coming! Come out hot and amazing! The BBQ is also really tasty, lots of options and they have live music on certain days. Which is so fun. They have also a bar where you can eat but still does not feel like a sports bar. It's can still be a nice spot! It's a good neighborhood spot in Brentwood! Good ribs and brisket!

If you're looking for BBQ around Westwood/Brentwood area, this is the best place I've found. They have all of the main meats associated with BBQ that are reasonably priced with big portions. I think what makes this place stand out is the sides. The sides portions are almost another entree and there's so many to choose from. The service was fast and frequent and friendly. There were also plenty of tvs for sports.

Chicken dry! Female manager rude! Ribs great! Waiters good! Hostess wonderful! Not as well run as Burbank and and Calabasas! Very well run! Steaks great and sides good! Ambience ok

I ate here on 3/3/24. Brisket was so fatty that i just couldn't eat it . Rolls were hard and butter chunky and ice-cold . The sudes were ok . Perhaps , i should have stiulated " lean " I went with a friend who ( previuosly )had enjoyed Woood Ranch . I doubt that i'd go back . Ronny

I love this place! I've never seen a restaurant put so much effort into their "to go" orders. So much care goes into them it's astounding. Everything is individually wrapped, ice cream comes in separate bag with bag of ice, and all the condiments are bagged separately too so no spills. My orders are always right and delicious. Fan for life

Just an absolutely perfect addition to the Brentwood area. I've been dying for a spot that's walking distance from my apartment that has high-quality food not expensive pricing and frankly is not Italian. Don't get me wrong the Italian restaurants on San Vicente are fabulous but I have been wanting a BBQ spot around here. I've been a fan of Wood Ranch for a very long time. If you've never been you must try their tri-tip their ribs and of course their garlic rolls. If you if you prefer a salad the barbecue salad is fabulous with both chicken and tri-tip. I was actually impressed with their wine list, Great by the glass options as well as beers and yummy cocktails. A great sports bar to just hang out in that's not too rowdy, or a great place for a family meal or casual weekday meal! As a long-time patron of Wood Ranch, I can attest to the enduring appeal of their Baby Back Ribs. (make sure to get extra sauce)!!! These succulent ribs are a symphony of sweet and savory flavors, cooked to perfection every time. Wood Ranch's commitment to quality and warm ambiance make every visit memorable. If you crave delicious barbecue, Wood Ranch is the place to be.

Used to frequent the Northridge location years ago and always enjoyed it. However that location didn't take reservations resulting in long waiting periods. This one takes reservations! The Tri Tip is still amazing! Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer is so good (I don't like Cauliflower) Service was stellar (Thanks Eva!) Extremely affordable too! Don't recommend the Rib eye unfortunately. But plenty of other items to enjoy!

I've had this brand of bbq in other locations but I found this one to be the best as far as my experience on service and quality of food. Made a reservation same day online, found meter parking and it was jam packed. We were a bit early and waited to be seated, they had live music on Friday nights which was cool, and unexpected at least for us. Service was fairly quick and the food was served nice and hot (I've gone to a location that served me cold food before). Really enjoyed the spice rub on the half chicken, ribs were huge and the bbq sauce was perfect for dipping the brisket and tri-tip. Had four different sides and couldn't make it to dessert because everything was so good. Would recommend on a night with live music.
