Tacoma’s Wooden City Restaurant Plots Pizza Partnership With Odd Otter | Eater Seattle

"Replacing Wilder Local Fare and Libations at 714 Pacific Ave. in Tacoma, I learned Wooden City is being developed as a family-friendly, 49-seat American restaurant co-owned by Jon Green and Abe Fox; the kitchen is in good shape and already has a health certification, and the team is completing aesthetic renovations with a projected summer opening. Jon Green, formerly of Scout and No Vacancy Poke at Hotel Albatross, is in charge of menu development and plans a pizza style closest to Neapolitan but made with local, organic flour and likely featuring some non-traditional toppings—he emphasized wanting to celebrate American cuisine without getting too hung up on traditional labels. The restaurant is also exploring a food partnership with the neighboring brewery that could result in a limited selection of items, including wood-fired pizza, being served off-site on busy nights." - Adam H. Lacey, WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! She was hands down one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant/bar. She was extremely attentive and on top of her knowledge but it was due to her loving food... Lacey, you are a GEM! OKAY, now for the food, everything she recommended was A+ the Chefs seem to truly care about the quality of the food forsure. I also met great people with great energy. It was definitely a vibe. I literally went back the next day for the "Beet Ravioli" I am in LOVE with this dish. I also took home a veggie pizza, which had great flavor and was light and delicious. Really happy I found a new spot that I feel good about going to spend my money and time. The staff was amazing, from the host, to the staff who Also delivered our food. This was an unexpected very pleasant experience. Quality truly matters and it shows at this place. ✨️Beet Ravioli- ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️ (perfection) goat cheese, basil, pistachio butter ✨️Jerk Cauliflower- ✔️✔️✔️ (pretty good needs more flavor for me though) caribbean spice, jerk crema, cilantro ✨️Heirloom Tomatoes- ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️ (Amazing) burrata cheese, bread pudding, tomato gelée, aged balsamic, fresh basil

Do not miss this place for dinner if you are in Tacoma! I would even go to Tacoma to specifically check it out. I am no vegetarian, but the beet ravioli (as in beet the root) was delicious and unique, with loads of flavor from the goat cheese sauce and perfectly cooked pasta. The bone marrow was bursting with flavor, and the sherry add on to literally drink up the juices at the end was so yummy. Another standout was the burrata starter with a savory sage bread pudding and brown butter carrots and cranberries. The ambience is nice and stark modern. It is a quick walk from the Elks Lodge if you are staying there. Highly highly recommend. Service up at the bar was also stellar.

We had the most unforgettable experience at Wooden City celebrating Tori’s birthday. From start to finish, everything was extraordinary the food, the atmosphere, and the people who made it all feel so special. We sat at the chef’s table and got a front-row seat to the magic. Watching the team work in perfect harmony was like seeing a well-choreographed dance but with sizzling pans and beautiful plating. Their energy, focus, and love for the craft truly elevated the evening. The heirloom tomato salad was a burst of summer on a plate fresh, vibrant, and perfectly seasoned. The chicken schnitzel was golden, crispy perfection, while the pizza had that irresistible wood-fired crust with a depth of flavor you don’t forget. And the vegan tapioca dessert? Absolutely dreamy creamy, comforting, and innovative all at once. The staff went out of their way to make Tori’s birthday feel meaningful, and we left with full hearts (and full bellies). Thank you, Wooden City, for giving us a night to remember. We can’t wait to come back.

Wow, what a delightful dining experience!!! Mmmmmmmm everything was so good! Our cocktails were delicious! The salad was so fresh and tangy, the wings were PERFECT and crispy, the scallops were so succulent and the risotto was creamy and heavenly 🤤 The pizza crust was the perfect balance of chewy and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and tasty. The dessert was a decadent finish we needed to complete the meal. Fabulous!! I can't wait to come back!!!

Google
Chose Wooden City for my birthday dinner this year. As recommended, we made a reservation and were seated promptly. Served was super attentive and kind. Started off with the bone marrow which I still can’t stop thinking about and also enjoyed the scallops and burger. Wasn’t able to order drinks this time but will def be back cause everything looks and sounds delicious!

Google
We had a delicious meal and the portions were large! The waitstaff is perfectly attentive. Even with it being a little chilly outside, eating in the outdoor tent wasn’t a problem because of the heaters. Great place to eat if you’re in town for a few days and looking for a nice meal.

Google
S/O to Matt and Cameron for killer service and conversation. Both were critical guiding me through the menu at the Chef's table. The kitchen here is on point: cool and calculated. I was watching with an eagle eye the whole time, and clearly, the chef has signed on a group of utmost professionals. Execution was flawless. There is an extensive Mocktail menu for the teetotaler crowd. I ordered an NA Daiquiri and it was a great citrus/pineapple sweet and sour blend. Went with some staples recommended by locals, the Hungarian Peppers and the Beet Ravioli. I come from a heavy Italian community, but I think I'm confident in saying that the Beet Ravioli is the best I have had. It's one of the best dishes I've had period. The Hungarian Peppers were also great, with the amount of spice I like. As a rhubarb fanatic, the rhubarb and strawberry crumble sent me to cloud nine. I like a very sweet dessert, and getting this with a scoop of ice cream is all I could've asked for. I also ordered the Chocolate Custard which was a smaller portion, much more subtle, but also delicious. I hope to visit Tacoma again just to revisit this restaurant. This was my favorite dinner I had in Seattle. I wish the staff nothing but the best.

Google
From what I can tell, this was the most recommended dinner spot in Tacoma. It certainly lived up to the hype! Enjoyed bone marrow app and split a ceasar to start. Then had the lamb rigatoni. Super tasty food and cocktails. Definitely need a reservation on a weekend & even worth having one on a weeknight.

Yelp
Happy hour prices are great and the tapas selection is amazing. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Yelp
5 star service. 5 star ambiance. 5000 star food! We came here on a whim because it was close to a hotel we were staying at nearby, and it was super busy! We found space at the bar and I was thrilled they had a coconut porter available in June. It was great; and then we got the Bone Marrow to start. Now, any time this is on the menu, the place is probably fantastic, and it WAS. Just incredible with their toasted bread; there was also the option to add their sautéed onions or mustard. Amazing no matter how you have it. For my meal, I wanted everything, but my boyfriend and I actually just shared the Sausage & Mushroom Pizza. It was absolutely stellar! I am such a pizza snob being from NY, but it was thin and crispy and the toppings were flavorful and properly proportioned! Stellar. Just stellar.

Yelp
If you haven't tried Wooden City in Tacoma yet, you're in for a treat! The wood-fired bone marrow appetizer is absolutely amazing - it just melts in your mouth. Their pizza has the perfect crust with that authentic wood-fired flavor, and the spicy lamb rigatoni is bold and flavorful. The cocktails are great too, especially the Prairie Line and Bramble. Wooden City has that perfect mix of classy and comfortable, making it a must-visit in Tacoma. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Walked in for dinner. We opted to sit outside rather than wait for a table inside. It was kinda chilly, so they did provide us with a little heater- like a Mr Buddy, but it kept going out and we stopped bothering to get the waiter to relight. My chicken sandwich was really good! I liked the thin patty and the fries were also crispy and delicious. I asked for the mustard sauce on the side but ended up using the whole thing bc it was so good. Prices are kinda high, but the food was good.

Yelp
Seriously this is one of my favorites for a nicer night out! You will not be disappointed. It is a popular spot so expect to wait if you're out during popular days of the week... highly recommend reservations, but they also take bar seating but this is also usually full. I honestly will eat anything and everything from here at any given time. I have always enjoyed everything I've ordered here. They do have regular items but also rotate a few items. Salmon toast.. amazing! Beet ravioli... amazing. Sturgeon with mushroom risotto.. amazing! Scallops were so fresh. Spicy lamb rigatoni was delicious.. perfect amount of heat with flavor. I was sad they were out of the bone marrow... but I'll definitely be back for that amongst other things. The service is always great. The ambiance is very date night vibes... darker lighting. They also have nice cocktails or various ciders and beers on tap as well.

Yelp
A little crowded, but we came on a busy Sunday night. Still, the tables are pretty darn close to one another and feels like you're dining with whomever is seated next to you. That being said, our service was wonderful. The vibe is nice and inviting. And our food was really, really great. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Yowza!!! *the eye popping out* meme if I could add one! This restaurant is absolutely unsurpassed and my new #1 place to go in Tacoma. It's a medium to small sized restaurant, but has both indoor and outdoor seating. Not great for a party over 6-8, but I bet they could accommodate if you called. Reservations are a must, or go early and sit at the bar. We chose to sit at the bar and had the best experience! Our bartender Matt was phenomenal - he was funny, helped with food suggestions, made conversation, and was a total add to our whole experience! I'd go again just to sit and talk with him, plus his drinks were on point every time!!! Hubby and I wound up each getting our own app, splitting a 3rd, and then split dinner. All the food was in shareable portions and dinner was surprisingly large! I got the beet salad - it's was perfect dressed, fresh and light; a great way to kick things off. Hubs got the bone marrow which he said was more than he's ever seen a place offer. It came with bread and other a accoutrements. We then split the calamari which came with a dreamy sauce. For dinner we split the chicken schnitzel. OMG it melted in your mouth before you could chew! It was the best dinner I've had in a long time! It was great to share because the portion was huge. We finished the night off with an apple crisp that was great. The apples were warm, but not mushy and the crisp was perfectly portioned to the apples and ice cream. For the atmosphere, food and drink quality, popularity, ambiance... you whole get your monies worth! I will be returning many, many, many more times!!!!!

Yelp
I recently went out for a mom's night with one of my best friends and we decided on Wooden City. I've been trying to get in here forever, but it's a spot that you have to reserve a good amount of time ahead if you're not wanting to walk in - which I don't recommend. They're hoppin'! It's smaller than I expected, but it's a cozy and intimate vibe. Service throughout our entire experience was great as well. Naturally I checked out the menu ahead of time and knew I was going for the Spicy Lamb Rigatoni. It was absolutely delicious! The lamb had great flavor and was cooked perfectly, and the spicy vodka sauce was amazing. It wasn't too spicy, but had a great kick. Portion size was great. It was the first time in a long time that I finished my whole entree at a restaurant LOL. They have a great beverage list and I opted for a glass of white wine but then wanted a cocktail. My friend got an espresso martini but the bartender suggested it with TEQUILA... I wasn't super sold but I trusted his suggestion, and boy, I'm glad I did. Absolutely delicious and will definitely order like that again in the future! Don't knock it til you try it. Definitely a local gem and looking forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

Yelp
Went for Mother's Day and also for a friend's birthday! It. Was. Soooo. Good! You should check it out!

Saemyi L.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday and our party totally enjoyed it. The food, the ambiance, service and all. We went during happy hour so no reservation needed and we got seated pretty quickly. I tried the bone marrow and it was so creamy, rich and full of flavor. My only thing is I wish the bread wasn't toasted with butter. The bone marrow was pretty oily and it got heavy pretty quick. The pepperoni cheese bread was so yummy. They offered me a free dessert of my choice for my bday.
google avatar

Yelp
Hi. Ok. This salad is so so good. The grilled little gems are just amazing and the watermelon is so refreshing. The service here was also amazing and I loved the outdoor patio. My husband got the lamb rigatoni which he said was excellent. If we are ever in the Tacoma area again we will be back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening without reservations, so we got seated outside. It was pretty cold but they provided us with a heater that kept us plenty toasty. Service was pretty good. They checked up on us frequently and made sure everything was good. Food was 4/5. I enjoyed everything but my only complaint was everything had a hint of sweetness. A little too sweet for me. I'd come back again but definitely would recommend getting a reservation. Also, parking in downtown Tacoma SUCKS lol

Yelp
This restaurant was so good!! The Caesar salad was so fresh and had amazing dressing. The cheesy bread was warm and very gooey and delicious. The prosciutto toast was a combination of flavors and textures that I have never had before, and it was honestly the highlight of the meal. The shrimp had a nice kick and it was fun to peel it. The mocktail was bitter and so flavorful. Our server had so many good suggestions. We ended up going with a lot of them and they were excellent (thanks jack!). The esthetic of the restaurant was also really cute, (we were seated at the little patio tables). I would totally recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Out frickin standing place. Staff was on top of their game the night we went. Parking can be tricky but well worth the hike if you have to.
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
I understand the hype! Small and cozy place. The drinks and the food we pretty flavorful. We order the Caesar salad, braised brisket, jerk cauliflower, mushroom pizza, and the fried chicken sandwich.

Mike M.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner with friends after work. It was a nice place overall, but very crowded and very loud inside. We sat outdoors, so that was a little more manageable. The pizza was great, and they had a nice selection of drinks. Service was good, though I was annoyed that none of the staff addressed the out-of-control kids that were "seated" nearby (including their parents, I guess). You're paying for ambience at this place, so I'd expect a little more on that end.....
google avatar

Yelp
Booked a reservation because it's a necessity if you want to eat here and not have to wait forever. We booked the Chef's table/bar. It is a small place and I can see if you just walked in you would be waiting. However it's worth it. The food was delicious and well prepared. Seasoned well, could have been a tad hotter as in temperature when it arrived as we were maybe 20-steps from the expediter. The portions were nice sized, and flavors spot on. I can say the Surf and Turf was a bit disappointing. The 6oz Filet was fatty, and hard to slice and chew. I had imagined an almost cut it with your fork and melt in your mouth but not anything close. The bone marrow appetizer was done well with the condiments offered being a good touch. Could have used two more pieces of toast. Our other dishes were good and hit the spot. Dessert of chocolate custard was a good choice as well. The service was not as attentive as you would think however the shining star was the Assistant Manager and a gentleman running food, setting up silverware and portion cups, filling water bottles etc. This would be 5-stars if not for the couple negatives. Would we return, yes.

Yelp
The location in Spokane is much better as far as quality of food and ambiance. Its decent. It gets busy. For Tacoma, this is one of the better spots.
google avatar

Jennica C.

Yelp
Very rich and delicious food. We started out with the blistered Hungarian peppers which I forgot to get a picture of. The color threw us all off for a second but they were sooooo good! For dinner I got the country-style pork chops, my SIL got the beet ravioli and my husband got the surf & Turk. All of our plates were absolutely amazing. Hands down I think we all enjoyed the beet ravioli the most, which is different but it was so good. My only downside was that they didn't let me sub my sides for another side. The ambiance is nice and dim, wasn't too loud for how busy it was either. But make sure you make a reservation or you will be waiting a while for a table.
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely delicious, didn't even get a chance to take a picture of the starters. Corn on the cob was my favorite. Sat at the bar and had excellent service, bartenders were super friendly and helpful! The place has a beautiful ambiance with exposed bricks and rustic feel.
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
The food here was amazing, the place was packed but lively. I walked out stuffed and will be coming back soon
google avatar

Randall T.

Yelp
Super busy for a Wednesday. 1 hour wait? That said, got a seat at the bar and wow, bartenders were awesome. Their "house made" old fashion was perfect. Ordered food and WOW. totally worth the wait.

Sue R.

Yelp
Impressive pizza! We had the veggie pizza and loved it. Caesar was very good too - excellent croutons. Tarissa was a friendly hostess who found us outdoor seating since the restaurant was packed (reserve on RESY for a table). Clint did a great job serving - it was our first time here and he was very welcoming. Pretty nice location in the west end of downtown Tacoma - only 5 minutes from Point Ruston.

Tina B.

Yelp
We went to the Wooden City in Spokane Washington and it was wonderful so we tried Wooden City in Tacoma last night and it was equally wonderful. The food was delicious, the four of us tried each other's meals! I had the beet ravioli and it was so good and different. My son in law had the lamb rigatoni and my daughter had the chicken schnitzel and both dishes were excellent. My husband ordered the sausage and mushroom pizza and ate half and took the rest home to finish today. Yum! Service was perfect and atmosphere was nice and calm. They do have high tables if you're not used to that but they have a foot bar so they were surprisingly comfortable. We each ordered a specialty cocktail and they were delightful! All in all we had a great time and enjoyed great food and drinks and we highly recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Re Y.

Yelp
I've gone to Wooden city plenty of times and the food is always good. Servers are very personable and super stylish! The spicy lamb rigatoni had a good spice level but I could understand if It could be too spicy for others. I get the wings every time I come and the Caribbean spice seasoning is so good, I recommend these to everyone when Im mentioning wooden city
google avatar

Colin W.

Yelp
A really nice space near Green Lake. I loved the open feel of the restaurant. My burger was really tasty and a great value for the size. Decent selection of beers on tap. After I ate I walked over the lake to burn off some the burger and beer. Service was great, too.
google avatar

Todd B.

Yelp
Pizza was fantastic. The ambiance was nice. It's a really good spot to grab a drink and something to eat.
google avatar

Nam V.

Yelp
Tonight I had the pleasure of enjoying roasted bone marrow accompany by an assortment of condiments, seared/roasted scallops, a cheese-less meat combo pizza, and a raspberry cocktail. I really enjoyed the condiments that came with the roasted bone marrow as it adds a lot of balance to the richness/decadent marrow. The service was succinct friendly and really have no complaint with the waiter. The ambiance was a very dimly lit, and as the name suggested, wooded theme restaurant with an open kitchen at the end of the establishment. It is a great place to take your partner out for a drink! I did not sit at the bar, but the bar host was very engaging to the customers!
google avatar

Thav Y.

Yelp
Stopped by Woodencity last night before heading to the movies with my bf. We didn't have a reservation, but the hostess was so kind from the second we walked in. She said there would be a 20 minute wait unless we wanted a table with a cap of 1 hr since a reservation would be coming in. We decided that would work out perfect! Our server was so wonderful! I believe his name was Jack....? He was perfectly attentive, patient, and genuinely personable. The food was okay, but we loved our drinks! My bf got the chicken sandwich (he said the texture of the chicken was odd) and an old fashioned made with tequila. I got the Caribbean style chicken wings and the Fall Pina Colada. The wings were alright. I wouldn't go back for them, but I would definitely go back for drinks. You can tell they were thoughtfully crafted :) The ambiance was chill, I liked the vibe there alot!
google avatar

Matthew M.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary and the staff made it a lovely night to remember. Eleana and Jack were so incredibly kind and helpful. We were checked on many times (not annoyingly) and didn't have to ask for anything as a result. The food was also quite delicious. We were very happy with are meals as well as the portion sizes. The pork chop and scallops were so good and so were the crispy artichokes. Also, as a pastry chef myself, I must give a great review of the chocolate custard. People don't use enough salt in desserts, but the lightly salted candied pecans add a delightful crunch and contrast to the silky custard. My only critique of my meal was the strawberry rhubarb crisp we also got had too much orange in it, but that's in my own opinion as a fellow chef. Other than that, this is a great place to go for a romantic evening. It's industrial and modern with perfect lighting. That paired with how the waiter staff takes care of you makes it a special place. Could not recommend more.
google avatar

Emily A.

Yelp
Visited 10/21/23. I would give this place a 4.5/5. Parking can be tougher so I would go earlier to give yourself park time. Definitely get a reservation and get a few weeks in advance. The place was super cute, albeit slightly smaller. My definite star of the night was the broccoli side-how do I replicate this cook and flavor with my broccoli at home?! It blew me away. I got the bolognese for dinner which was solid and pretty standard -bonus points for the homemade pasta. My friends got the veggie burger and the brisket (slightly closer to a roast). Dessert was solid-of the two we ordered I liked the custard better. Good pick but definitely get a res or suffer the wait lol.

Taylor W.

Yelp
I love wooden city! Their crispy artichokes were a crowd favorite when my friends and I had dinner here. Service was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Jenna H.

Yelp
Love this place. It's beautiful and romantic with excellent lighting. The blistered peppers, jerk cauliflower, and beet ravioli were absolutely fantastic. The service was attentive. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
Romantic date night spot. Feels a bit boujee, but good food & drinks. I enjoyed it overall.
google avatar

Astrid R.

Yelp
Their espresso martinis have me hooked! While I've explored various dishes, nothing surpasses their classic Caesar salad with tender chicken. The homemade croutons truly elevate the flavors, making it my ultimate go-to order. And don't miss out on the fries; their fry sauce is simply divine! This is also a view from the chefs counter.
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday dinner and forgot to post sooner, and would totally recommend! Being a Tacoma native, I'd totally wished I came here sooner. The bistro bar seating felt smaller with the number of plates we ordered for two, but that was to be expected. A server who was not my own was especially kind when I let my hands talk and my drink fly-- forever thankful for their cleaning assistance. My partner who's California-based did say with mostly confidence this was the best meal he's had since moving to Tacoma...so definitely looping back to this one! Not pictured, a chicken schnitzel that changed lives (I just cried while I ate it).
google avatar

Christiana H.

Yelp
My best friend and I wanted pizza so I found this place on yelp. It's pretty busy but there was no wait since it was two of us and the bar was open seating. Our server/ bartender was Gerard and he was super sweet. I tried the bramble, Caesar salad, and bam on pesto pizza. Everything was delicious! The food takes a while to get to you and that was my only gripe, but it was hot and fresh!! I would like to spotlight the Caesar salad. I do not eat croutons. I DO NOT EAT CROUTONS. But yesterday my mind was changed. That was the best Caesar salad I've had. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside as well so I really enjoyed myself.
google avatar

Brooke P.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance we all 5 star. My husband and I fell in love with this place. We are definitely going back to try other items off their menu and plan to take others with us. My husband ordered the chicken schnitzel (not pictured) and it was delicious.

Kaylee P.

Yelp
Got the surf and turf and it was cooked very nicely. It was suggested by our waiter and I am glad I went with his suggestion. The tables are close to each other so it's a very cozy feel.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Always a great time when visiting this restaurant. Some of the best food in Tacoma with fast and attentive service. Got the chefs table so we can see how everything is made. These cooks work their asses off. It's good to see this side of a restaurant. Makes you appreciate your food just a little more. Had the "Oaxacan"which was very mezcal forward. Delicious if you like smoky drinks. Blistered Hungarian peppers were great. A restaurant favorite. And can't go wrong with a pepperoni pizza. Another great experience.
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
We visit the Seattle-Tacoma area often, but this is the first time we dined at Wooden City. I would rate it as the most innovative restaurant in the Tacoma area. The four of us ordered Hamachi Crudo, Smoked Salmon Toast, Wood-Fired Bone Marrow, Country-Style Pork Chop, Jerk Cauliflower, Crispy Artichokes, and some pizza. Every dish was delicious, although I didn't try the pizza due to lactose intolerance. I'm really thankful to a friend who recommended this restaurant to us.
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
I met a friend here for drinks/dinner. They take reservations, and I recommend them. Even on a Wednesday night they were packed. I'm the vibe was relaxed yet hip. A place for the folks who don't want the "see and be seen" energy of The Matador. For dinner, I admittedly copied a woman at the table next to me. She wanted the "Surf and Turf" without the meat. It looked so good, I asked for it too. It was AMAZING. The lobster dumplings melted in your mouth, and the sauce was flavorful and rich. I'll go back just for that. I also asked for a strawberry daiquiri. It came out in a small glass, shaken instead of frozen. I wondered why the glass was small until I tasted it. It was strong! Yet also delicious without being overly sweet. The menu just lists a plain daiquiri, so ask for flavor if you want that. I had never been here before and I want to go back soon. It's small, and parking in downtown Tacoma can be a pain, but it's worth the trip.

Anna V.

Yelp
Spectacular wood-fired pizza! Food came out super quick, and our server was very knowledgeable on the NA beer selection. The cheesecake was to die for! We sat outside under the covered patio, what a cool place to eat!
google avatar

Tammy L.

Yelp
I was dying to try this place because of the reviews and the way the pictures food looks, and I finally got there, however I did not enjoy it. First, my bill was $55 for wings, salad, mocktail, and dessert. It was a-lot for what I got. One thing I do not like are huge steroid looking wings, and that is exactly what they serve. Let me be clear in saying that I have no idea about the quality of the wings, and I am not saying that the chicken is not good quality, but I am saying that the wings are huge and I prefer smaller regular sized wings I'd get from the local grocery store. I did not care for these wings at all and could not finish them. The Caesar salad was okay (no chicken or meat on it). It had maybe polenta croutons on it that aren't my favorite. The mocktail was really good and the dessert was the best part. It was a strawberry rhubarb crisp and absolutely delicious. I would absolutely go back for this. It's worth noting that the customer service was top notch.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
Great food in a great atmosphere! Really enjoyed the fancy burger, chicken wings, and old fashions on tap! We sat outside under the covered patio with heaters. Thank you for providing a dog friendly seating option!

Yelp
Wooden City, a dine in experience you'll surely enjoy either at the bar or table. The service was wonderful, everyone friendly welcoming with warm smiles. The ambiance is of a rustic industrial look + vibe with dimmed lights and unique decor that will please the eye. We ordered the fancy burger with fries, chicken sandwich with fries, a house wine and a beer on draft. DELICIOUS! Our food came out in a timely manner and everything hot and ready to be devoured! The portions were perfect! Truly the BEST fries we've EVER had. Crisp, hot, and lightly salted. WOW! Unbelievably amazing, they were honestly that good! The chicken sandwich was packed with flavor, crispy chicken, crunchy sweet slaw and pickles paired very nicely. Outstanding meal! Thank you Wooden City, we will be back indeed! If you're in the Tacoma area, try it out..your belly will be happy you did!

Chris S.

Yelp
Food is really tasty even though I just got the veggie burger! Cocktails elevated! And I brought my boss with a short notice so we sat under the tent in front in cooler weather and was still good! I want to come back, sit inside and give it a full try!

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner here. Our server/bartender was Alex and he was superb. The drinks were carefully crafted and service was on point. Ordered the cauliflower, butter lettuce salad and fancy burger, all were delicious! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Great burrata and service. Pizza crust is nice and airy with crunch. Good selection of beers too
