"The MacNiven brothers grew up in the Bay, but their two seafood restaurants in San Francisco are New England-inspired. Both offer a fresh and casual menu filled with Dungeness crab rolls, lobster rolls, fish and chips, and fish tacos." - Dianne de Guzman, Lauren Saria

A last min spot after the Annual Pride Parade . I ordered the clam chowder and the Cioppino. Both are absolutely delicious. My friends had fish and chips, and the stuffed artichoke. I loved how attentive and patient the servers were. They made sure we had water and the food was to our liking. Prices are moderate, and spacing is smaller than expected but still good. I will definitely return. In fact, I look forward to it!

Iam giving the Woodhouse on Market St 5Star. I have been going to this place for almost 15yrs or maybe more, and it's my go-to place when i crave for Fish & Chips in The City. Not only is it conveniently located, u may be able to find better parking here compared to their Fillmore location. I love that its right on Church and Market St so its usually a one stop shop area for me as we have 24hr Safeways across the street, WholeFood a block up, Ace Hardware nextdoor and of couse Muni, FLine stop in front of the place and Muni underground that basically stops underneath the restaurant. For those that love their Cali Green like most of my friends, they visit one of the best Dispensary half a block away before they come to pig themselves out in here hehehe. Its small i must say, but us regulars are always aware that if there is a line like Oyster Tuesdays, we dont try to hold the table up. Staff are super friendly and even small, iam not gonna lie, its not noisy like the Filmore one where the last time i was there with friends, we couldn't even hear each other with dishes banging. So if u wanna check these guys out, I recommend checking out their Menu and head on over cause it is definately centrally located with tons of happening bars and coffee shops around it u can also check out after. For the ones that love taking pictures of SFs Street Cars, this is the best place to do so and make sure u get a window sit. Hope to see u guys there soon.

Was looking for a lobster roll fix and have to say, they nailed it. A tad on the pricey side for a Canadian visiting with our exchange, but would come back without a doubt. Hands down one of the best lobster rolls I have had. And I'm comparing this to the east coast New Brunswick / P.E.I. who arguably have the best around. We ordered two lobster rolls with fries! The fries were delicious as well!

While in San Francisco, I went to Woodhouse Fish Co. and I had the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl. The clam chowder was pretty good! It came with oyster crackers and a piece of bread. The chowder didn’t have strong flavours, but it had a good amount of richness and creaminess with several chunks of clam meat. The clam meat seemed pretty fresh and nice to me. I had some of the chowder with the oyster crackers and some without it, and I liked it both ways. I really liked the clam chowder! I loved the bread! Their bread was made in house. It was soft, flavourful, and quite fresh, and it had a bit of sourness added to it, which added to the flavour of the bread in a positive way. I also scraped the soft part of the bread from the bread bowl, as it was bread already soaked in the chowder, which I enjoyed having. The service is also really good and the restaurant is nice and clean. I ended up going back the next day again for their clam chowder, and I’m glad that I came here!

If you are near Market Street on a Tuesday, I would definitely recommend visiting them for their oysters. They are $1.25 apiece and the quality has been consistent good. Sometimes they may forget to give you a couple of oysters if you order to go (the last picture is the one they have forgotten to include so I came back for it a couple hours later), but just come back for it. I felt a little awkward to ask them to give me the missing oyster (so did the staff) but the oysters are good enough that I think it's worth it :-p (and they really did forget, so....).

Last post of 2021! Woodhouse Fish is a quaint little seafood restaurant with a respectable seafood menu. We started with the iceberg wedge salad $9. It was good with this white and chives dressing, little fancy tomatoes, beets and chopped carrots. The clam chowder $11 was chunky, served lukewarm, not hot enough. It lacked flavor. I had to add a lot of pepper and finally asked for some Tabasco sauce to make it edible. Skip that next time. At least they serve it with oyster crackers. Which is great. I love me some oyster crackers with my soup. Next, we had the dungeness roll and a lobster roll. They cut it in half so each of us can try both. They were both delicious! It is better than that place in Burlingame because you can have different options. I had it with the red sauce. Very good. The crab roll was so fresh. I love what they did with this with the little chives. Finally, we had a whole dungeness crab $45. That white wine, butter and garlic sauce was fantastic. We wish there was some noodles or rice to soak it up all. One minor nit, the crab was not served with the top carapace and the innards. IMO, that's the best part. I'll ask it for next time. Good job Woodhouse Fish crew. Thank you for a great meal.

Recently visited Woodhouse Fish Co on Market Street in the Castro. Overall, it was a good experience. There is indoor seating but it’s tight. The decor is the rustic fisherman. I ordered the clam chowder which was good. I also ordered the fish and chips and my wife ordered the crab cakes. Overall, it’s a good place and definitely worth visiting

Great selection of seafood! I love the way they deep-fry seafood! Lightly- battered, deep fried calamari is second to none! The beauty of fried calamari is crispiness on the outside, juiciness and bounciness on the inside giving you great flavor, texture at the same time! Perfectly flaky and insanely fresh cod make Fish and chips stand out! Cioppino is highlight! You can get many different dimensions of taste from assorted seafoods! It has so refreshing taste, perfect tartness to it. But portion size is so small for the price.
