I stopped by for lunch today and had an absolutely delightful meal! I enjoyed the poached pear salad along with the fish and chips, and everything was spot on. The salad was incredibly fresh, with warm, perfectly poached pears that felt like a cozy treat on a winter day. The roasted walnuts added just the right touch of sweetness, and I loved that the dressing was balanced rather than overpowering. The fish and chips were a true standout! The beer batter was crisp, golden, and stayed beautifully intact, complementing the tender fish inside. And the sweet potato fries—wow! Perfectly crispy, not the least bit soggy, just how they should be. It’s clear the chefs know exactly what they’re doing. Every bite was a joy, and I can’t wait to come back for more. Thank you for an amazing meal!

We live in the neighborhood for 2 years and pass by every day. One day we were to lazy to cook or to go anywhere so we decided to give it and try .. and today it’s our to go restaurant in the neighborhood! We tried the Irish food, the burger, the pizza .. we haven’t been disappointed even once! I am European and the food has an European feeling to eat! Simple with good ingredients! And it’s one of the rare restaurant who served me my rare burger perfectly cooked! Highly recommended

Live music by a talented cover singer–guitarist, tasty food prepared as orderers requested, capable of serving large parties efficiently and courteously. We had 12 people, and all of our food came out with it minutes of each other. Traditional Irish / UK pub food like bangers & mash (delicious brown gravy and onions on top of the heap of mashed potatoes, surrounded by three sausages) and fish & chips (large pieces, tender in a light batter). Also chicken tenders & French fries, spaghetti & meatballs, and, why not, bruschetta and also fish tacos, this latter with a deceivingly spicy salsa verde served on the side. Very good. Excellent, kind and professional service all around. Music levels kept low enough to allow for conversation (thank you !). All around, excellent.

Fish and chips are always crispy and hot. Chicken curry is always perfect. It was our first time trying the senorita pizza and it was very good. We also love the margarita, bee sting, hawaiian, and highly recommend the prosciutto & arugula.

The location of this restaurant is quite convenient being in close proximity to a number of bus & subway lines in addition to the LIRR. If possible try to come here for the weekday lunch special. The New England Clam Chowder and Shepard's Pie (lunch size) was great. If ordering the Shepherd's Pie take care not to touch the bowl it is served in as one can burn their hands. Whether one is a local resident or a traveler this is a fine place to stopover.

I’ve lived in Woodside a long time, and Woodside Café is always a go-to. While the service is historically slow, the food is good. I recently tried the crispy cod sandwich and was seriously disappointed. Where’s the fish??? When I asked the server that question he replied with well you didn’t want lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. That wasn’t my question. They basically took a very small piece of cod on a like 7 inch bun, cut it in half and I was served, essentially, two fish sticks on a whole bunch of bread. For $17?? Buyer beware….

solid breakfast, I ordered the chorizo egg skillet (again) and it was just as good as the first time I tired it, if not better - I highly suggest it (if pork is your thing). The steak and eggs were tasty also but what really stood out was the French toast. It was made really well and didn't have that soggy taste French toast can have sometimes - we love that. I'm usually hesitant ordering French toast out but here, I'll order again. My one critique is that the service could've been better, especially since they weren't crowded. The food came super fast but ordering more water and other essentials became a bit of a hassle since we waited for the server to check in but realized trying to flag them down was a better option and that took some time. With all that being said, the staff was friendly and respectful so that's always appreciated.

I've lived in the neighborhood for five years now and have passed Woodside Cafe hundreds of times, but I just recently tried it for the first time after a neighbor of ours mentioned how much she likes it. My husband and I were both nursing a hangover, so I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast (nice and light), while he ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with a side salad. I loved my Irish breakfast. The eggs were perfectly cooked; the sausage and bacon and pudding were flavorful and tasty; and I liked that I had the option to get skinny fries and rye toast, which I realize are not traditional. I would come back again for this breakfast alone. My husband didn't love his buffalo chicken sandwich, sadly. He thought the chicken was too thin and dry, and he didn't care for the bread. Oh well. I think I could convince him to return regardless. Prices were reasonable and service was great.

So i stopped by as I wanted to give them another chance and because there is no decent dinner in the area. The pancakes are $12 + $3 for fruits+ $4 for bacon . No eggs or home fries on the menu I asked how much it will be . Egg is $4 and home fries are $6 so my question is why is not on the menu? Why I need to ask for it? Asked for coffee to go and left. Seriously if you are one of the few places in the neighborhood that offers brunch and breakfast get your menu ready! It's an opportunity for more business!

Not to be confused with the nearby Nepalese eatery bearing the same name, this Woodside Cafe is on Woodside Ave just a block over from the 61st St MTA station. Opened by the very folks who started the iconic Sean Og Tavern (#1), they took over an old school Irish diner and tried to make it the most eclectic, family-friendly eatery in the hood. They are a part of the new Woodside dining scene, which is constantly changing with all the gentrification happening in the hood. They have been around for a handful of years at this point, becoming a pseudo destination for a casual bite and a brunch option for the weekends. They did such a good job transforming the space from Rainbow's, that it actually looks more modern than ever. It's a tight squeeze in some of the small booths, but they're certainly more flexible about accommodating larger parties. Bathrooms weren't great during my visits, but that's to be expected. From an Irish fare perspective, there's a lot to appreciate. Their chicken curry has a sweetness to it and is served with some very large chips (#2). The shepherd's pie has a nice crust and the fish and chips are hearty. I'm not mad at the Irish beer options either. Who wouldn't like to down a pint along with their traditional Irish breakfast? Where they also standout is the fact they have also serve pizzas. Diners usually have all sorts of food, but pizza is typically not one of them. It's halfway decent, and would satisfy most folks looking for a utility pie. Where they fall a bit short is on the service, semi-pricey items, and really subpar American fare. Normally I would only come here for the Irish food but I was unimpressed with a lot of their popular items. This includes much of the appetizers, such as their soups, quesadillas, fried potato skins, on occasion the calamari. I haven't fared well with the soups, salads, and sometimes the burgers / sandwiches are a tinge dry. The brunch stuff is solid, but not enough for me to choose this place over others. I suppose the good news is that like most diners, they offer breakfast and dinner all day. Ate there the other day after work as a youth worker at Woodside on the Move with other staff for dinner. We all ate like a family that we'd gotten the same buffet dishes such as pasta, wings, salad, pizza, fries, etc. with unlimited drinks and a 2 alcohol drink limit. All had tasted super good and delicious. The service there was also really good and attentive that we all couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

A nice diner in Woodside. Reliable food and friendly service. We had chicken quesadilla, shepherd's pie, and sliders. All yummy. This is a reliable spot in the neighborhood.

I enjoyed my visit. I went with a friend. I had a Cubano sandwich and also a starter which was calamari. I really appreciated the patience and warm energy of our waiter. I would highly recommend to others for brunch and lunch! They have a huge beer selection and a great cocktail variety!

While my wife and I were in Queens for a weekend last month, we had dinner both evenings at the Woodside Cafe, and we would recommend this restaurant to others enthusiastically. We both ordered the Grilled Salmon entree - twice! - (although I was tempted to try a pizza, which looked delicious, when I saw it delivered to another table), and enjoyed every bite. Our drinks - Zinfandel and draft Brooklyn Lager - were excellent. Our servers and others working in the restaurant were kind and helpful. The prices were quite moderate.

Wholeheartedly surprised by the delicious food i got to enjoy last week. Let's start off by mentioning the service, everyone was attentive and welcoming. As for my reviews, if you know how I go, remember I type out my experience and then add the stars afterward based on every factor. Starting off with appetizers, my friend and I ordered their Mac and Cheese and Chicken Wings. I kept on spooning Mac and cheese onto my plate because the flavor was just *chef's kiss*. My only "complaint" if there is one was that I prefer a cheese sauce that is thicker than thin. That's definitely a choice of preference. As for the Chicken Wings, tasty sauce; however, because of that nice bar and interior I think this place could really shine if they focus on wings more. Although the wings were tasty, I don't know if I'd order them again because I wasn't wowed. They were lackluster and, if I was absolutely craving chicken, I'd be satisfied BUT if they opted for a bigger and juicier chicken then I think they could get an influx of people come for brews and wings. Next up, because I was curious, I was given a chance to try their Irish take on a Chicken Curry. At first I was like LOL what did you say one of your best sellers was ??? But then thinking back, for an Irish place, Indian food is very popular in the UK so it does make sense that they would even have it on the menu. I said SURE I'd try it and I'm honestly glad I did. This chicken was cut up nicely into thick chunks and definitely juicy (showing how their Chicken Wings could really flourish with the right push). The sauce was REALLY tasty and the fries were nice and thick to dip in. I would even recommend that they do a Chicken Wing with curry sauce considering how popular this dish is. Then, what I came for; the pizza!! I love Bar Pizza and this was so so so yummy. We got the Margherita, Allá Vodka, and Italian Sausage. I would recommend all three BUT my favorite was the italian sausage, also topped with onions and peppers and cheese Oh My. Very flavorful and a great crust. Definitely pop by for some pizza and drinks for sure. Can't have dinner without dessert! Order the Woodside Bombshell, I don't even remember what was in it but it was so pretty and I think everyone would love it.

Over-priced, pretentious and mediocre food. In other words, perfect for the uber-wealthy residents of Woodside who have lots of dough, and think they have good taste, but they don't. I ordered the "Prime" NY steak, at $49. Well, if the steak I got was a Prime Cut, my name is Steph Curry. I ordered MR. It came out medium to MW. It was accompanied by soggy vegetables. Service was good and the waiter did ask me how I enjoyed my meal. I told him it was just so-so. He did offer me a free dessert as "compensation." Unfortunately, I don't eat dessert. I won't be back.

A surprising pocket of "old world Irish" exists here in the least likely corner of melting pot Woodside, and just like everything else in this overcrowded, overpopulated, perpetually in motion, WONDERFUL corner of the world, it's perfectly imperfect, and definitely worth a visit!! When I get an early a.m. flight back home to NY into LaGuardia, I take the bus to the LIRR railroad station here in Woodside, before heading further out to LI. I've usually been up since about 4 or 5 am or so, and nothing hits the spot like a big, greasy spoon breakfast and a bottomless cup of coffee. Sooooooooo many awesome breakfast/brunch choices!! Nothing fancy, nothing you'll feel the need to immortalize on Instagram., but heck, that's what makes it even better!! Good, solid, neighborhood grub!! This place is "hidden away" about a block away from the station, and worth checking out. GREAT breakfasts available all day, along with tempting lunches and crazy creative, tempting pizzas, drinks, desserts, and more. Super quick and friendly service, it was a toss up between the huevos rancheros and the Irish breakfast, and I decided on the latter. If you're a sausage/breakfast meat lover, then you've definitely got the "luck of the Irish" here!! Not sure I'd have it again, but worth a try. I'm intrigued by the new pizzas on their menu; they sound really creative and deliciously different. Cozy, comfortable, not a HUGE diner-style menu, but definitely something for everyone. Check 'em out!!

Delish! Feel so lucky to have this place in the neighborhood. Delivery is quick and the food always arrives hot, and all of the ingredients taste really fresh! Excited to try more of the menu but, for now, can highly recommend the French onion soup, shepard's pie, poached pear salad, bee sting pizza, and the Santa Fe tortilla bowl. Looks like they are affiliated with Sean Og's (a lot of menu items overlap) but close earlier. Enjoy!!!

Trash. Don't be fooled by the looks that they've got. As nice as the place looks that is all they have going on for themselves. The drinks we ordered were a joke. A mojito does not consist of rum straight up drizzled with a mint leaf. The paninis were awful. The service was shit. My friend had to get up to get the waiter's attention for hot sauce and then a second time for the check. I am assuming the lady who served us is the owner because she was the only one in the place and her attitude was downright nasty. I am happy I got to have this shitty experience cause I'll make sure to stir clear from places like this. My company was great and is the only reason why I sat thru the whole ordeal. Had I been alone or with other friends I would've left from the get.

Good food and a variety of options, the service is fast and good, however the food does take a little while. The ambiance is amazing and if you're going to their neighbor stop inn please reconsider coming here

Had Sunday brunch here. Brunch comes with a complimentary drink of either a mimosa or sangria. I asked to get iced coffee instead. (Not sure if the free drink happens for certain hours or days only) Ordered the blackened grilled chicken salad brunch, the brunch burger with sweet potato fries, and stuffed French toast brunch. No complaints with the food. They all tasted great. The chicken salad was well seasoned and not overly salty or burned. The French toast provided that perfect sweet to all the savory foods ordered. The brunch burger was delicious and the sweet potatoes fries were crispy. It's a nice brunch spot in the neighborhood.

Drawn in by the huge windows and nice, classy interior for essentially a diner. EXCELLENT brunch deals (under $10 plates that come with an alcoholic libation = my kind of prices. #yasssQueens). And the food wasn't terrible, but also didn't have me craving for more either. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla which came with eggs, ham, some minuscule green that I can't remember, sour cream and guacamole. The eggs are rather bland. Like quite possibly insta liquid stuff. The guac was almost so watery it should change its name. BUT, the quesadilla tortilla was so buttery crunchy all around that taste buds danced despite my bloodstream screaming holy cholesterol. My friend's food was also just fine, but she has similar feedback on the eggs. She also had to send back the orange juice cause it came out looking like peach nectar. I didn't taste it, so I can't say, but she was not happy. All in all, this is a great affordable diner spot for a low-key brunch, but nothing to wait in line for or make a ton of effort to visit. If you want better tasting food, you'll have to keep looking. But if you just wanna chill and eat, I think this is a wonderful, cozy, atmospheric spot.

Updating my review from a few years ago. We have been coming to this cafe for quite a while and we really enjoy the whole experience every time come. The staff is very attentive and accommodating and the manager Zoran is so welcoming and hospitable. Food: We love the pizza, our two favorites are the Bee sting which has sopresatta & honey, and the Mexican pizza which has jalapeño and is a little spicy, crunchy and delicious. This is our favorite brunch place in Woodside! We highly recommend it!

Originally I had given Woodside Cafe 1 star due to Horrible service. The rude waitress appears to have been replaced! Thank goodness The meals are pricey for the area, but it's a clean restaurant with good service. Soon they will have brick oven pizza

Such a great neighborhood place with a good food and family friendly atmosphere! Don't expect fancy dinner dishes, this is more of an Irish pub menu that would be suitable for a causal dinner. Some of our favorites are: spicy chicken panini, bbq chicken wrap, steak salad, soups, and pizza. The cafe recently got a pizza oven and their pizza is wonderful with lots of cheese. Bee sting is our favorite with a little honey and a spicy kick! also they have good range of beers, drinks and wines (all reasonably prices and with a generous pouring)

Updated review: in the past, wasn't a big fan of this place. Now that it's pretty much our only local Irish restaurant option left, it's grown on me. Pizza is delicious, Irish style curry is also great and the beyond burger is very good too. Also, service has gotten much better in the past year. Ambiance is pretty typical small diner feel but they have interesting pictures posted throughout.

Worst service period!! I was waiting for 1 hour waiting for no reason. The food is decent . The one of staff did not understand English . The Waiter messed up my order . Never coming here again.

This has been by far the best breakfast I've had. I ordered the Chorizo with eggs and home fries on a skillet and WOW it was delicious the Mac and cheese with bacon was also amazing my son really enjoyed it, another great thing is the Pizza fresh ingredients and simply delicious. Everyone in there is super friendly everything is clean and beautiful. I highly recommend it the vibes is just great overall.

Went in with my boyfriend we sat down and no menus were brought to us no one set up the table. We waited for 10 minutes and still no service. We were completely ignored. Older couple walked in and they got serviced immediately. So we left.

The brick oven Pizzas are all great compared to any pizza in NYC. Go if just for that. I recommend the Funghi pizza and the Bee Sting, but all are good. The staff is nice.

I'm so hungover! This place a great neighborhood diner, great because I'm mostly here on mornings when I'm hungover. The coffee is strong and the food filling when you need the extra padding in your stomach. The Irish breakfast is a must to grease that stomach up and the chorizo skillet is really just the thing you need after last night's binge. P.S. And you can show up in your pajamas with no judgement. Only your own shame to worry about.

First time trying local neighborhood restaurant. Environment and seating looks really nice. My wife is vegetarian and ordEred veg panini and I ordered chicken parmigiana. My bread was stale and chicken was microwave fried chicken piece it tasted nothing. My wife's veg panini had piece of bacon. I showed the piece to tHe waiter and he argued that there's no way that's bacon and its fried onion. I had to pull the meat to show it to him. He told me that it was made on the same pan and pan waS not clean. HE wasn't even apologetic. We lost Oort appetite, paid the bills and walked out. Never again. If you are vegetarians or you only eat halal then this place is not for you.

We absolutely like going to Woodside Cafe for dinner or brunch. They have really good brick oven pizzas and burgers. Their wine selection is also pretty good. The food and drink prices are so reasonable. We never had anything bad here. And their staff are always so nice even when they get busy. The manager Zoran absolutely knows how to run a restaurant and makes sure the customers leave satisfied. Thank you Zoran! So glad we have this cafe in our neighborhood especially if you don't feel like going to a pub for dinner and drinks.

Poor service on sunday 2 pm !!! I ask for grill chicken with pilaf and vegetables!!! The chicken so dryyyyy the pilaf was a regular rice !!! Wait to long for my food..! And wasnt so busy only like 5 tables !!! Server never check if im ok!!! Well... Maybe next time is much better !!!

Convenient location by the train station. The deco and food is good and the price is fine. I had the Eggs Benedict with fries for brunch. The service do need improvement though. There were only a few tables that was occupied but the service seems like it was a full house. Maybe they need more waiters to help out or more staff overall? Also looks like a lot of people get confused with another restaurant with the similar name. This restaurant serves diner style food not Newari food.

I came here on a Tuesday afternoon to grab lunch. My sandwich was crispy yet soft. I thought it was delicious. My friend loved her sandwich. The place is big and pretty too. I loved how quiet and relaxing it was. We had to wait a bit to pay but we didn't mind. Their service was great as well as the food we got. Will be coming back!

We order from their new pizza menu. The pizza Fresca ingredients were fresh but the the pizza dough needs a lot of work. It needs more flavor and cooking. I wouldn't order this again. The blackened chicken panini is good and spicy. Their brownies were awfully dry but the ice cream Sundae was good. Service was ok.

Pretty much garbage. Ordered crispy chicken and waffles with hot honey, got a plate of smuckers and deep fried bones, and 3/4 of a cold waffle that had clearly not been recently cooked. Who's so cheap they ration waffles? Posted this while waiting for the other meal to arrive. Five minutes and counting. The wait staff is great and the decor is nice but the food is literally garbage. They gave us "orange juice" that was a watery fake drink too. Clearly a management issue:

I went there for Sunday lunch on March We ordered soup, Avocado bruschetta with Smoked salmon, Egg benedict. After 10min, A server (looks like manager) said that the soup which we order was out of menu, so I order differnt soup. It was totally fine. After finishing my soup, I had waited my main food almost 30 min. We called waiter and asked that how long we needed to wait. The waiter stated that they will serve food very soon. We tried to understand because it was busy Sunday lunch. However, I realized that other people who ordered later than us already got there food. I felt that our order was missing. We asked that why other table got food faster than us. The manager stated that " we ordered the soup which was out of menu". WHAT ?????? Are you serious ??????? Even though, I heard stuid explaination from the manager, I did not want to mess up my Sunday, so I waited my food. Finally, we got our order. All dishes were terrible. 1. Avocado bruschetta with Smoked salmon. Hard bread, chopped tomato ends, there was no flavor at all. 2. Egg benedict Under cooked home fries We wasted our lunch time for terrible dishes. Service was terrible too. Servers did not know how can work.

I got three little EGGOS LIKE DEADASS EGGOS like I'm not even joking with you egos and 3 little chicken drumsticks for 13 DOLLARS

My husband and I saw this nice looking cafe and saw that their menu looked decent. First time coming to this cafe and there was no one seating us. My husband and I waited for 3 minutes until there was a waitress that told us we can sit anywhere. The cafe/restaurant of the atmosphere looks modern, slick and relaxing. The service was slow. They have enough staff but REALLY slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come. My husband ordered potato skin with sour cream for appetizer, woodside burger with two inch fries and pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The potato skin only had 4 pieces and the presentation of that dish was sloppy. It's quite expensive for $7.50. The woodside burger was horrible. The burger meat was cooked well-done when we asked for medium well. The onions on the burger were not caramelized and it didn't have any flavor. The pulled pork sandwich had coleslaw- no taste and lots of BBQ sauce with the pulled pork. The bread with the pulled pork was cold. The food quality wasn't great at all and expensive. It was really disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The food either had too much flavor or no flavor at all. The only thing that I like from the Woodside Cafe was the Irish Tea. After giving the money to one of the staff, they didn't say anything to us. We were disgusted by their mannerisms. They definitely need training and new management. Very unprofessional!

Incredibly rude host or manager or whatever he is. I've tried to forgive this behavior twice and come back, but this last time is the last ever.

Had a nice light meal here the other day. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup combo with a draft beer. Grilled Cheese was crispy and buttery. Nothing fancy, but well done. Tomato soup was creamy and nice even if nothing super special. The combo definitely hit the spot though. Would definitely come back and try it again if I were in the neighborhood.

I went this morning with friend in tow to have breakfast to what i thought was still "rainbows" . I enjoyed my Irish breakfast a lot, and the coffee was great. My friend had french toast and irish bacon, yum all round. So all in all yum breakfast.. so now for the bad stuff..actually nothing bad about the food or service ..only the front door..It is almost spring so They will be ok..but if it were any earlier in winter,,i would strongly suggest a second awning door outside the front door. Every time someone came thru the door it froze me with the wind coming in. Definetly will be going back for more bacon and eggs ..+++

Woodside Cafe is a MUST go to if you're in queens. EVERYTHING was amazing from service to food. I got the onion soup, mac and cheese skillet and philly cheese steak sandwich. Everything was literal perfection! Elias was our server and he was the most polite person ever. He checked up on us frequently and was quick. Also the woman with the butterfly tattoos on her neck. She checked up on us every 20 minutes or so and it was nice to know they genuinely provide good service. The food is also a great reasonable price. 100% plan to come back.

We used to live in Woodside and would eat here every weekend. The food was always consistent, friendly staff, but on the smaller side as places to eat go. We came back recently since we were at No Las hair salon that day anyway. Talk about a major remodel!! Easily doubled in size. All new tables and booths, paint, lighting, restrooms, etc. same waitress we remembered tho. The brunch menu was respectable and does come with a drink. Portions are still fairly generous, tho prices did go up. It's still a perfectly respectable choice if in this area, tho it depends on if you're after diner type grub or pub grub. For pub style, I say go to Cuckoo's Nest a few doors up the block.

Great service tonight at the Woodside Cafe. I was with two other people and we each ordered an entree. I had the half chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetable. It was wonderful. The mashed potatoes were perfect. The chicken was so moist. The other two people had chicken parm and the salmon. They were also very happy(the salmon eater is very picky and he cleaned his plate). Each entree was very large portion size, but we were hungry. Leftovers of chicken parm and half chicken were happily taken home. Great happy hour offer on wine and beer. The wine pour was very generous. One person had apple pie ala mode for dessert. He loved it. It was a huge piece of warm apple pie with a large scoop of ice cream of top. They also put strawberries and cream on top. Service was great and not rushed at all. Sometimes Monday night is the night to dine out! More than we expected. Will definitely be back to try other entrees!
