Wright Brothers offers £1 oysters every week, making for a delightful and affordable experience. The oysters, while not the best I’ve ever had, are excellent for their price. The cozy atmosphere adds to the charm, making it a great spot to enjoy a budget-friendly treat.

If you love fresh seafood, this is the place for you. We went for dinner with our kids (8 and 10) so they could try some fresh seafood, and we were very happy with the experience. The full house plate was amazing! It had cold clams, shrimp (with the shell), big snails, whole crab, mussels, and fresh oysters. Everything was super good, except the snails were a bit too chewy. The mussels dish was excellent and quickly served. The kids loved their linguine pasta and the fish and chips.

Oliver serving us was brilliant, a very positive attitude and was more than happy to help with anything we asked. Food was great and atmosphere was nice. Very clean toilet facilities as well.

Such a beautiful british place to have some great fish and chips. I am not the biggest fish fan, but theirs was definitely one of the best. Recommend!

My friend and I happened upon Wright Brothers restaurant and it did not disappoint. We were in the mood for seafood and we were pleasantly surprised with our dining experience. We were able to enjoy a three course meal with expertly made martinis as well. The food was flavorful while maintaining the focus on the seafood. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to anyone in visiting South Kensington.

Ordered fish and chips, it was delicious! Fish was very fresh and the sides were good too :) Service was great too.

We went for lunch after visiting the Natural History museum. We have been greeted by Larissa who showed us a table, but after noticing that we were looking at a different seat, she offered that one instead. That was a really nice touch. I have been few years ago to the Borough Market branch and I had great time, and I can happly say that my experience in South Kensington was also memorable (Probably even better!). We shared some small plates, everything was beautifully presented, well paired and cooked to perfection. The Octopus had almond flakes that were a really pleasant match, it was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Tiger prawns were served with a delicious Romesco, the only minus was that needed to be peeled and deveined (finger bowl was however provided as part of their mise en place). The scallops were the absolute star. Seared perfectly, meaty and juicy. Simply stunning. Diego, the bartender, recccomanded their House Bloody Mary, it was gently spiced, balanced and came with an oyster on top. Amazing! We also were allowed to try couple of wines before getting a carafe and their Viogner; it was perfect for our meal: dry, mineral and served at a perfect temperature. Both Larissa and Diego looked after us for the entire meal in a professional, knowledgeable and kind way. We felt a great atmosphere in the restaurant as soon as walked in. They both embrace a great culture of passionate Hospitality, something that lately is beginning to miss in London. Thank you for the fantastic meal and afternoon and well done to both FoH and BoH!!!

It's a great restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere! A reservation is a must. First, I had the oysters with a glass of Piper- Heidsieck. I enjoyed a delicious prawn linguine with a second glass of champagne. My server, Olivier, was pure joy. He’s the best!!! He managed all the tables with a smile and still had time to chat with his customers genuinely. He’s energetic and kind and gave me great suggestions. I highly recommend this restaurant. I ended my meal with a housemade crème brûlée.

Wright Brothers has a friendly, no rush ambiance, great wine, and of course delicious seafood. I walked in during their £1 a pop happy hour and without a reservation it was a short 20 minute wait. The service was friendly and relaxed though they were fully booked. Many tables were enjoying this or the mussels. I was still able to enjoy the happy hour which were channel oysters. They were flavorful but not as meaty as I like. The Gillardeau on the other hand were quite possibly the best I've ever had!! What a win. Dinner service was efficient and warm. The roasted hake was perfectly done with one side pan fried to an audible crisp. The textural difference and the flavors of the saffron mash/gremolata all added up to comfort + happiness + surprise. Job well done Wright Brothers!

Loved my oysters and mussels. Mussels came in steamy hot, I really enjoyed mussels and fries. They are perfect duos. My host and servers were very attentive. I had great oysters and mussels. I wish I could try fish and chips but this restaurant does not have fish and chips.

I ate here a lot the first year they were open, back in 2017 (as I recall). I'm even mentioned in a design my night review of the Mermaid Bar downstairs (I helped the reviewer get some particularly challenging mollusks from their shells). My work location changed after the plague and I hadn't been back since 2019. I was in the mood for seafood in a casual/fun setting and made a booking for the Mermaid last week. I'm very happy to say that it's only gotten better. Oysters had that perfect taste of the sea that only comes from the most fresh hand selected offerings, fish pie was as I remembered (possibly the best in London), and the Dover sole, prepared to accommodate my dining companion's dairy allergy, was the best meal she's had in the three months since she moved to London. The room has only gotten more charming, the service friendly and impeccable. Looking forward to my next visit to South Ken.

Came by this via Yelp, and have to say the reviews were mixed. We had 4 of us for dinner, and the place was busy (7pm on a Tuesday) but they found us a table in the back. The place was warm and the staff attentive. We ordered drinks, and I being the only one ordering wine, ordered a glass instead of a bottle for the table. Wow! The wine was awful. I asked our server if we could replace it because this tasted like it had been open way too long. She noted that the dates they open bottles in written on the top. She was not too quick to replace my wine (which we decided to buy a bottle instead) but once she checked, she noted it had been open for over a week, plus the bottle was stored on a top shelf and it was the hottest time of the year, so the wine was very oxidized. The oysters Rockefeller that I ordered were good, but they did not have the bread crumble and cheese on top, so it was basically just pesto hot oysters. They were tasty, but not what I was expecting. Then my main dish was Tiger Prawns, that were three whole Tiger prawns. They were over cooked and very difficult to peel (head still on and no slit down the shell). So I am happy it was just three that I had to peel. My husband got the Dover Sole and said it was very nicely cooked. My mother in law ordered the daily special of anchovies and she said her meal was lovely. I did not complain about my meal at the time because I was happy to leave and watch the Olympics from my room, if I had said something they would have redone my meal and I was done.

Really nice fresh British seafood with wonderful French wines to match. I got the seafood platter and 500ml of Chablis to pair with it. Only a few tables so come midweek

Dinner at Wright Bros was a great way to wrap up my quick trip to London. The restaurant is small and very cozy -- ideal for date night. (I wouldn't recommend for a large dinner party.) We started off with a dozen oysters... and then another. And we paired them with a lovely bottle of white... and then another. Service was friendly, prompt and not overbearing. Highly recommend. Oh, and there's a bar downstairs.

Worst meal we had in London. Linguine with prawns turned out to be spaghetti in a cloying pool of a thick soy sauce tasting marinade. Partner had steak, in a fish restaurant, and at least his meal was edible. Eat elsewhere!

Such a cute little seafood place in South Kensington close to the tube station. It had a "Cheers" like feel to it, although no one here knew my name. The house champagne is reasonably priced and quite decent. So decent I ordered 2 glasses at lunch. They have a good sized selection of oysters, but only ever having eaten oyster from North American waters, I wasn't quite ready to try raw oysters from the English Channel. I started with grilled tiger prawns in chili sauce. I was a bit intimidated when they came in the shell, but I powered through it and managed to get most of the meat without getting any sauce on myself. So score. And they were delicious. Next up was the moules frites, though like all things British, they don't pronounce things in the French style (e.g. leftenant v. lieutenant), so they were referred to simply as mussels served with fries. Really fantastic. I really appreciated how light the broth was (classic meunière), and it was a generous serving. I did have to ask for a side of bread to dip in the broth, but they brought it out quickly after I asked. The one thing I didn't love here was the fries, as I found them salty and greasy, but I hadn't really planned on eating them beyond a taste, so it was no biggie. But, yeah, come here when you're on your way to one of the museums in the neighborhood or just because l.

Wright bros in south Kensington London is a great spot for seafood. Went there for lunch today and had amazing steamed mussels in Panang curry. So freaking good! Also had charred cabbage with parmigiana and hazel nuts. Wow! Damn good! Very much recommend this spot if your in London. There is 2 locations to choose from! Boom

The food and service were great. We went in for a few oysters and ending up having a full meal. The shrimp by 'the pint' were incredibly good. Will come back next time we're around.

The Jersey oysters were fresh, but a little salty. The steamed mussels are great. The owner is extremely nice. She walked out of the restaurant to show us where the bus stop was.

Came here for the happy hour- a pound a pop oyster during happy hour, and ended up eating more than expected. Food was good, and good service is depending on who's working. My American people, bread is not free here like back home.

Wonderful little casual spot for seafood. It is not an extensive menu, but we easily found dishes we enjoyed. Service was very good, and not crowded at 1900 on a Wednesday in June. Portions were ample, did not finish our main courses. Did not have room for dessert.

LOVED seafood here! I was gutted that I left my phone at my friend's place to recharge the battery and couldn't take any photo of the delicious seafood I had here! Came here with my boy friend on a Saturday night and sat at the bar facing the cooking area, we watched the chef and his team prepared different dishes and wished we could have all! We had a dozen of oysters as appetizers, salmon and mussels as main dish. They were fresh and delicious! I also like the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant, good for dates and friends gathering.

Absolutely fantastic dinner at Wright Brothers where the seafood is high flying and lands in front of you swiftly. Our meal took off with a beautiful seafood platter and every item was fresh and delicious. We upped it up with an again awesome grilled calamari with black ink. Mid flight came a wonderful array of fish dishes, my special of the day - a roasted cod with Puy lentils and chorizo- was incredible, perfectly cooked and so flavorful. We landed on a selection of dessert, the best one being a panna cotta with oats and peaches. Fantastic dinner, absolutely great service. Book in advance the place is small!

Wright Brothers has good food but the experience is always just a bit off for me. Whether it's slow service, a forgotten item, a cramped table or the wrong drink order it's far from perfect. There isn't a ton of value to be had outside of the 1 quid oysters during happy hour (3-6pm) but those alone make it worth a stop.

I like the atmosphere of this nice pub, fish and chips with beer are great and tasty. The service is quick and friendly. I will definitely come back

Stopped for some oysters, my waiter was super helpful. The Gillardeau Spéciales are delicious.

Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the Hake with spinach and cockles in clotted cream sauce, superb. My wife loved the mussels in wine sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Way overpriced and the shrimps are not cleaned at all. We ordered the £64 full-house platter and the little shrimps are so disgustingly dirty.

Fresh seafood . The crab dish was an absolute delight. The sauce was delicious and I was craving for more. The oysters were really fresh and good. However, the prices are definitely towards the higher end, which meant that I cannot make a visit every weekend . But that just makes each visit to wright brothers even sweeter

Was visiting the natural history museum and found this place near the South Kensington underground station and stopped for a quick lunch. Had some oysters from Waterford in Ireland and some salt cod croquettes. Oysters were super fresh and delicious and the croquettes were very flavorful. Rest of the menu looked great as well.

Not as enjoyable as the original in Borough Market, both in ambience and taste . The Oysters are great, really enjoy the Lindisfarne ones. Chose the Gurnard which I was really looking forward to, but was unfortunately substituted for Hake. No problem, I love Hake, but for sure, the firmer texture of Gurnard would have been more appropriate to the dish .

Seafood in London. Went there last night. The staff was friendly, got us seated right away, even though we did not have a reservation. We had a craving for something other than pub food. The seafood was awesome. We each went with different dishes. I had the small plate smoked salmon and a salad. Someone else had the full order of mussels and another the prawns. All was prepared to order, great flavors and plenty of it. The price was on the high side of the ££ rating, but worth every pence. I would go back.

This is a great restaurant! The food and the service were both exceptional and couldn't be better. I enjoyed a whole branzino, and not only was the fish absolutely perfect and melt in your mouth! But the server also deboned it for me, and even taught me how to debone a fish as he did it. They were also very kind to modify every dish for my dietary needs. I can't wait to return!

One of my favourite and go to for fresh oysters and seafood. Swing by for their happy hours for £1 oyster. Our little gem in the neighbourhood. Highly recommended. Make sure to book a table before heading over as the restaurant is quite small.

A very solid 4 in a diverse, non-touristy neighborhood a few blocks south of Kensington Park & Victoria & Albert Museum. Menu is a bit limited, focusing on sea food (especially oysters), our dishes were well prepared & tasty. Staff were friendly & helpful. I'd consider the place for a repeat meal, but will also search others with a bit more variety. For strictly seafood, though, this is a keeper.

Eat here as often as possible because the seafood is so fresh. Upstairs is the best place and close to the front windows for couples. Lovers of Sydney Rock oysters should try the Carlingford Lough variety from Ireland accompanied with an excellent white such as Picpoul. Look at the blackboard for daily specials, always good. Staff are wonderfully friendly and efficient. Only oysters are available for delivery so visit this gem of a restaurant to sample their large range of the freshest seafood going, it's close to the Tube and Christies Auctions.

Found this gem on the recommendation of an associate at Christie's. Wonderful fresh fish, curried mussel soup, and oysters. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot for an after dinner drink on the way back to our hotel. Very comfortable bar (it's in the basement; we walked into the restaurant and didn't see it. Started to walk out when a friendly server chased after us explaining that it was downstairs). Didn't order food, very low key vibe to the bar-not too loud but also not too quiet. Enjoyable spot to gather!

Very nice evening and wonderful sea food. Peel and eat shrimp were not the freshest but the clams, cockles, mussels and other shell fish were fantastic. Not sure if all the tables were like the one we sat at but had virtually no leg room. Service was very good and I would recommend this restaurant highly. Definitely more a local vibe than the more touristy restaurants that are so prevalent around the city.
