Best Restaurants in Soho | Where to Eat in Soho - Eater London

"The team behind Bun House and Pleasant Lady jianbing — the attached hatch — reopened this Bun House as Wun’s last year, bringing a superb cocktail bar and a menu of skewers, claypot rice, and some “it” dish worthy sugar skin pork to Greek Street. Extremely vibey, often full, and an easy going option for mates and dates alike." - Adam Coghlan

We visited on a Thursday night and had a lovely experience. Initially, we were accommodated upstairs - however, feeling the atmosphere would have been nicer downstairs, he asked if possible to change table and staff was super friendly in this regard! We ordered a few beers and a tropical Mojito (delicious!). As for starters, we had the bone marrow, served with some lightly sweet bread (amazing!) and the fried mushrooms, which were the best dish of the whole evening (a must, you need to order those!!). As for mains, we ordered some pork with rice and the dumplings. The presentation was lovely and unconventional. These dishes was absolutely fantastic, nicely presented & prepared and super tasty! Finally, we order some ice-cream coupled with sweet wine: overall, I believe that desserts are a bit overpriced (we paid 5.80£ for a very small scoop of ice-cream, which was disappointing in flavour & texture - I would discourage from ordering this). Finally, service was quick and staff responsive to our requests. The atmosphere was also very authentic, with soft green lights and making us feel to be far away from London! So, my rating is overall 5 stars - although, I'd recommend working on desserts to make them as special as all the other dishes of the menu! 😊

Almost didn’t go here because of the negative reviews on Google Maps, and so glad I ignored them! This place has excellent food, excellent drinks, and excellent service, all taking place in beautifully designed surrounding in the heart of Soho. Every dish was expertly prepared and delivered unexpected flavors, with the highlights for us being the cheung fun, glass noodles and prawn toast; the drink menu was great as well and I’d welcome people to experiment with new things! Prices were good and everything is meant for sharing; combined with friendly service and a great soundtrack, this is an ultimate brunch spot. Can’t wait to come back for cocktails!

Google
Cool spot that has its own vibe. The food menu was quite adventurous and not your typical Chinese restaurant array. Traditional Chinese flavors with a creative twist could be one way to describe the dishes. The black bean sauce on the veggies with the bream was tasty! The setting and atmosphere is pretty cool. Service was friendly and prompt. Look forward to coming back in the evening for some drinks and trying a few more dishes. Expect Soho pricing. Note the Hong Kong style French toast is only served during lunch.

The interiors make it here for me!!! It’s so funky and retro, I love the style down from the neon lights to the plates. HOWEVER service was terrible and to be honest the food was nothing special, OTHER than their pork (pictured)! I went for dinner, and I understand that the brunch menu is a lot better, and popular. I wouldn’t rule it out, and I would give it a go for brunch, but not in a hurry (food account: @diningnotdashing)

Been looking forward to visit this tea room since seeing some lovely photos on IG and finally got a chance to have brunch here with some friends today. Got seated on the top floor which I think has a nicer deco than the downstairs. Since there were 4 of us so we decided to literally order everything from the weekend brunch menu except the kaya toast. Some dishes are definitely not what I’m expecting - like Scallop Prawn Toast is not the type of triangular prawn toast with sesame on top, the HK- style French Toast is as thick as I imagined it to be and the Fatty Char Siu is not as juicy as I thought. Despite some slightly disappointing dishes, the Spicy Soy Cheung Fun is real nice and I would say the Scramble Char Siu Rice is the highlight for sure. Overall the service is good and an enjoyable meal. I would still recommend this place to relax and dine in if happen to be in the area, but don’t expect very authentic Chinese food - more a fusion.

Very impressed with the food and cocktails. The char Sui belly pork is one of the best Chinese dishes I’ve ever eaten. The service was ok, polite rather than friendly and if they had been more attentive we would have ordered another cocktail half way through our food. We ate there early evening so it would be unfair to say it was lacking in atmosphere. We didn’t go downstairs to the Tea Room. I’d go again.

I've been here twice, once for brunch and the other time for dinner, and I really enjoyed the experience. They've got a very authentic atmosphere of traditional Cantonese tea house dining, including the inner decorations and cutleries used. Good and attentive service by the team there, and I like the fact that they are very digitised for the overall customer experience. For example, their online booking system was easy to use and smooth in communication, their payment system was intelligent and user friendly, and there are even sockets around the tables so people could use to charge their phones etc. The food was delicious, some might be a bit too salty or sweet for me personally but this varies from person to person. Overall, I would really recommend to give it a try.

Google
Interesting Chinese tea and food place. It is a nice place to hang out and spend lazy time with some delicious food bites organised like tapas with small portion. Tea selection is also interesting. Hence, it is not a place to fill up your belly. It is not really recommended to visit with kids as their foods are not really portioned as meal, but more of a side dish to complement drinks and tea.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner! This was my favorite meal of this trip! Innovative Cantonese dishes in a speakeasy type of tea house turned cocktail bar atmosphere. The space is striking and the décor is really lovely. The cocktails are very unique and quite good but I was more won over by the food. We ordered a number of dishes for sharing but some dishes are quite small so in retrospect, I'd say this place is best for a dinner for two. Particularly because of the intimate setting. That said, everything was delicious! The crispy duck, char siu, and the clay pot rice were the crowd favorite. Highly recommended!

Yelp
4.5 stars for aesthetic. Very cool vibes. Neon lights and an intimate atmosphere. 3.5 stars for food. Didn't order much but we had the chicken skewer, mushroom clay pot rice and cucumber salad. I did actually enjoy all of them in the moment but I don't know if I would come back for any of it. 5 stars for the cocktails - amazing! 5 stars for service - everyone was kind All in all come for tea or a cocktail and maybe a small plate or two. Don't make it the whole star of your evening but certainly consider it as a retro stop in Soho

Yelp
This place is amazing. The cocktails are delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the ribs are actually to die for.

Yelp
Such an interesting restaurant+Tea Room+Bar. The food is delicious. The drink options are super creative. The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place gets crowded. Don't be fooled by the small restaurant when you enter, go down the stairs to the tea room, and you are no longer in London.

Yelp
Amazing food, interesting decor, super friendly staff! It's a great place! The atmosphere makes you feel like you're not in London.

Yelp
This is a great spot to meet a friend or two for a nice, but casual meal. The sugar pork is incredible.
