Würst Bier Hall Downtown

We stopped in at the Wurst Bier Hall for a break after walking downtown Fargo on a Sunday afternoon. We each had a cold beer and split the Bavarian pretzel, which was fabulous. We asked for both the beer cheese and the marshmallow fluff dipping sauces for the pretzel. The marshmallow fluff was a sweet treat that nicely complimented the slightly salty and warm pretzel. The Hall was pretty empty late on a Sunday afternoon, which we found relaxing. (Note that the cow mural is on the alley wall right next to this building.)

Monique took care of us today. Wonderful service, excellent food. Good beers. We had the bacon sampler appetizer, Jäger Schnitzel and bratwurst.

After finally being able to check out this highly recommended spot, we were incredibly displeased at our experience. Arrived at 430pm on a Saturday afternoon, not very busy at all. Sat at the bar and planned to enjoy a flight and a snack. Took the bartender 7 minutes to even come to us, which is not completely unacceptable, but after taking our flight and one drink order, he started to fill my husband's flight glasses on the board...and then walked away. We sat...and sat...and someone came by from the kitchen, asked if we had been helped. Said yes, but we don't know where he went. We were told he must have had to redo a keg. Ok, fine. Shortly after said bartender was at the register entering an order from another table, he had not been redoing a keg, and he started to fill multiple different beers, never acknowledged us. At 5, a new bartender came on and started filling orders. Not ours. The first bartender came over again to "clarify what we wanted" even though he wrote it down...and flight glasses were right there...and then walked away again and didn't return. We never got the opportunity to try any drinks or order food. After 40 minutes of this, we walked out. No one said a word as we left. This is the worst service we have had in a very long time, and we travel often.

In terms of a unique experience visiting Fargo this one takes the cake. Unique dishes and a great variety of customization for the dishes I imagine has the locals coming back for seconds frequently. The beer on tap is also awesome as well and not at all boring.

This place is amazing, I wish we had one in Minot, North Dakota! You must try the spaetzle with gravy and sauerkraut and that's not something I thought I would ever say. It's to die for. The spoetzl mac and cheese was great too. The sausages are tender and juicy, the peanut butter Porter is like drinking dessert. The service not so great. Our only regret was that we didn't go for dinner with the kid and get that amazing looking sausage platter! The restaurant is clean and fun. The kids can go with us, we will actually make a point to go to Fargo again soon just so we can eat there.

Oh my goodness the food was AMAZING! I brought my picky eater friend here and she loved it all! The pretzel is to die for and their house made garlic dip and their marshmallow dip for it is so amazing! I suggest trying the cheese curds in the marshmallow dip for a salty sweet treat you won't forget. The carrot cake is also so moist and perfectly made. I'd give this place a 6/5 stars if I could. Can't believe it took me this long to try here! Don't make the same mistake I did by waiting so long to try this place out!

I've been coming here since it first opened back in 2014-2015ish. Great variety of beers,brews, n/a options, #DasBoot, and oh man THE FOOD IS SO good! You get North Dakota made sausages and the gourmet sausages are to die for. I definitely want to taste a rattlesnake wurst or rabbit one. The #Borscht is delicious too. The ambiance is industrial, quirky, and unique. I love #Jackolopes. Excellent customer service too. The currywurst, and spaeklemac are fantastic too. There are also vegan/vegetarian options as well. Wow!!! Never expected to like this place so much. Food is amazing. Great service and nice atmosphere. I had the Pierogis for an Appetizer. ( Amazing! ) Great flavor and not too heavy. Then the Elk cheddar and Jalapeño sausage , Banh mi style, with a side of Mac n cheese. Out of the park! Definitely will swing back next time in Fargo.

Great beer menu, excellent staff. This was my one bar stop when in Fargo for a night and didn't regret it. Wasn't very busy for a cold Saturday night but the ambiance was still good. The giant pretzel was delicious.

Great food and great service! I tried the Pistachio Creme ale and it is so smooth! Also had the Porketta Banh mi- delish.

A popular spot around town for German fare. It seemed our waitress wasn't having the best morning as she was pretty rash and cold. Love the interior. Lots of different types of seating for all people and a nice big TV. Bavarian Pretzel. I love a good Bavarian pretzel and these were no exception. They were extremely soft and well salted. The beer cheese added that extra goodness and had us all fighting over the last piece. Sausage Flight consisted of three different concoctions, all with different sausages and toppings. My favorite was the banh mi and my least favorite was the buffalo bleu cheese. All in all, great food for the price and great flavors.

I finally was able to go here last night with my wonderful friend! I am so close to the tail end of my vacation. Just from passing by on the outside, I couldn't wait to see the inside. I loved the cozy and cool interiors. I appreciated a really clean restaurant with simple German themed decor and a nice restroom. The service here was amazing! A nice gentleman seated us and punched in our happy hour appetizer order so we could get the $5 price on the set of 3 Bavarian pretzels & beer cheese. These were super delicious as they were great size and lightly brushed with butter and a perfect salty taste! Well, my friend and I were not too hungry as we have already been eating good amounts of food on this trip of ours and my prolonged total trip. We had Ahna as our main server, and she was really sweet as she checked in with us often. We just had waters to drink to wash everything down. She kept us refilled often. We were sitting in the beer garden type area at the higher seating right next to a big screen TV. So we were able to watch a little hockey while relaxing and enjoying each other's company. I felt so comfortable here and did not feel rushed at all! It's a great atmosphere to just hang out whether a short or long stay!!! Now to the food... after procrastinating to be comfortable enough to finally eat, I ordered a favorite of mine for wherever I go. I got the Würst poutine! I loved this Fargo twist on a German poutine! The fries were perfectly cooked. The cheese curds tasted great. I really enjoyed the thicker brown gravy with diced mushrooms and thoroughly cooked onions. Yes, I am allergic to raw and undercooked onions. But I gave this a whirl, and I was able to eat as is because they cook the onions plenty enough! So if anyone has onion allergies or even if you don't like onions, you can still give it a try. Just tell them not to put the green onion garnish on top. It was a very good amount of food as my friend and I shared. She ordered the sweet potato fries with the marshmallow fluff dip. So we definitely got our fries fix on for the night! These were very delicious to eat as well. They were lightly coated with brown sugar and the marshmallow fluff had a wonderful sweetness to it, that went well with the sweet potato fries. Surprisingly, these two items filled us up. I also noticed that they have Bratwurst and German potato salad that I would love to try on my next visit. Overall, this was an extraordinary visit here! Can't wait to come back to try more and highly recommend anyone to dine here!!!

I had a lovely dinner at Wurst Bier Hall last night! Great way to end my first day in Fargo! Wurst Bier Hall is a nice and quaint establishment situated in downtown Fargo. It has a nice rustic feel to it. I like how there is a roll of paper towels, condiments and a can of silverware at each table. For yesterday evening's meal, I dined at the bar area. My waitress was kind but she needs to speak up when talking. I could barely hear her each time she spoke with me. Also, she was late checking in with me to see how my meal turned out. I had about 3-4 bites left. Not sure if she was busy or overwhelmed. An earlier check-in would've been nice. For my meal, I ordered the Jager Schnitzel. You have a choice to get it grilled or breaded and fried. I chose mine breaded and fried. I also chose spatzel rather than French Fries and other potato options. The meal also comes with red cabbage as well. The Schnitzel was covered in a delicious mushroom gravy. Overall, fantastic meal! I would consider dining here again! Everything on my plate was delish! I passed on booze. However, it looks like they have a nice beer selection. Establishment is clean and servers are friendly. If you're visiting Fargo and looking for quality German food, look no further and check this place out!

Looking for something unique during my trip to Fargo and i think i found it. Great German sausages! Great beer choices. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great beer selection, amazing service, cool tunes, nice ambience and Zachary (co-owner) was more than happy to take his time helping and acquainting us with the place and the city of Fargo too. Highly recommended!

Great selection of exotic sausages and craft beers. My dining partner and I got a sausage flight plus a snake and rabbit sausage. Everything was great beer was cold and sausages were piping hot. Prices are a little high and portions could be bigger but all and all happy with my dining experience. Owner was very friendly and gave us recommendations for things todo in the Fargo area!

We have gone to Wurst a couple times the past year while in Fargo for events. It's always a great dinner stop during busy weekends because they have communal seating and lots of tables. I've tried the schnitzle which was very good but filling and the hot italian sausage - which is perfectly spiced. I've had bites of the currywurst and the rabbit/rattlesnake sausage and those also did not disappoint. Lot sof good sauces to choose form for your fries and DELICIOUS spaetzle mac and cheese.

If you've never been to North Dakota (or even Fargo, ND), then you'd like do some research in advance and find that there is a lot of Russian and German influences. So I knew I had to search for some Russian/German food while I took a short trip to Fargo. Unfortunately, there wasn't much option for Russian or German cuisine, but I did happen to find Wurst Bier Hall. When I entered the restaurant, I was their first customer. It was also my first time so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was greeted by a nice hostess who let me know I can sit at any open seating. I sat at one of their long benches and immediately browsed their very large menu. The restaurant itself was very casual - all the condiments, utensils, paper towels were all rested in the middle of the table and up for grabs by anyone. The waitress was super attentive and helpful! Food wise, I ordered 1) Knoephla Soup which is a very traditional German dish. It is very creamy and filled with little spaetzle 'dumplings.' It comes with some oyster crackers and was very hearty and filling. I personally added some pepper to give it a kick. Otherwise, the 'dumplings' were a little too tender for my taste and would have preferred the texture to be a bit more chewy. 2) Spaetzle Mac & Cheese. This is a very similar dish to the Knoephla Soup since it was mainly the spaetzle dumplings. However, I really wanted to give both a try. My verdict is the same as the Knoephla Soup, the dumplings were a bit too soft for my taste. The cheese was also a bit on the bland side so I had to add some pepper. 3) German Sausage was pretty good, it complimented the Mac and cheese very well. 3) Grandma Naomi's Homemade Kuchen is also a very traditional dish. I thoroughly enjoyed the pie. It is a bit on the sweeter side so be prepared. Overall, the food was delicious with some notes that I mentioned before. The service was a 10/10 for me.

Wurst Bier Hall is a must to visit In Fargo. This place is like no other in town. The menu has some of the best sandwiches you can find anywhere in Fargo. The beer cheese soup is to die for. Wurst is truly a great place to gather with friends & have some great times as well. I know the owners of this place & they only do things first class at all of their locations & they have for years... Don't pass on a chance to go there. A+

Great place. I went to the downtown location while I was in town for a conference. I was impressed with the area, ambiance, service, and food. No complaints about anything and lots of praise for everything. It's unlikely that I'll ever be in Fargo again, but I'll recommend this as a stop for anyone who does come to town. Thanks for a beautiful dining experience.

Love their tasty spin on German cuisine! What a wonderful place to come and enjoy a nice selection of beer and really, really good food! We thoroughly enjoyed as an appetizer the pierogis that had a hint of heat along with the spaetzle Mac n cheese, borscht soup and spaeztle dumplings. Honestly, trying a little bit of everything was a great idea! Our waiter was really friendly and helpful too, we felt welcome and comfortable. Also, the chief came out and offered pickle chips for us to try just for fun!

Stopped in for lunch during our time in Fargo this weekend. We travel with a dog so it was nice to find a restaurant with a nice outdoor patio that allows dogs. The patio is always in the shade so that's even better. My husband and I shared the bacon and beer flight, cheese curds and the sausage flight. My favorite were the cheese curds. Lightly fried chunks of deliciousness with a side of chipotle ranch. The bacon flight was unique, four different flavors of bacon paired with four beers. The sausage flight was 3 half sandwiches with different flavors of sausage and different toppings.

Been there a few times. This last time my husband had the polish reuben and I had the Jagerschnitzel. Crispy breaded pork cutlet served with rich mushroom gravy. It's one of Germany's most popular and delicious foods. This authentic dish will absolutely delight your taste buds! Served with dumplings and red cabbage. Love it! Service and Ambiance... not really to my taste as it is a bar atmosphere.

I'm visiting my daughter and she took me here because she loves this place...and it did not disappoint! I got the spaetzel and cheese (basically a Mac and cheese with spaetzel instead of Mac) and the elk and jalapeño cheese wurst. So delicious. We also ordered the pretzels with beer cheeses and the pierogies which were fantastic. The sauce on the pierogies was a sriracha butter sauce that was really good. The kids ordered brat sandwiches with sweet potato fries which they loved. We ordered hard ciders...all great. Our waiter, Tristan, was very friendly and helpful.

Every time I visit I'm never disappointed. The pretzels were amazing along with the Mac 'n cheese. Then the knoephla soup is to die for...sooo good.

The service and food were amazing. We have the pretzel's and a bratwurst. The beer was great. If you like beer,brats and good service this is your kind of place!

My fiancé and I were so excited to try this place out. The pretzel was fluffy and flavorful, and the cheese pairing with it was great. If you're not a fan of cheese sauces, it's all good because the pretzel can absolutely stand on its own. My fiancé got the elk brat with his spaetzle Mac and cheese and loved it. I got the bratwurst banh mi and really enjoyed it. The sweet potato fries were decent but nothing to write home about. The banh mi was a great fusion with the hearty brat that complimented well with the pickled veggies. I will point out that the generous provision of sauces will make the bread soggy if you let your food sit for too long, so I would not order the banh mi if you're not eating it right away. Overall, great place to eat. Nice, chill atmosphere. Service was fine. The server we had seemed like she was dead inside, but she wasn't rude, so I didn't care. Would absolutely return again in the future.

Everytime I come in the food is amazing. The beer list is expansive. Staff is friendly. The place is cool and gives great vibes.

We stopped in for dinner and enjoyed it all very much. The restaurant is clean and airy. The tables are picnic bench style, and not very cozy or comfortable, but the food makes up for that. The Bavarian pretzel was really nicely done. My husband had jager schnitzel and dumplings and loved it, and I had a tasty chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. Our server, Ahna, was super friendly and efficient, and was great about explaining the menu and recommending things to do around Fargo.

I came in on a not busy Saturday afternoon wanting some German food. I wasn't terribly impressed. I waited at the bar for a while for service, which was very slow. Again, there were only a handful of people in the entire place. But they do have Hofbrauhaus Dunkel, so I didn't take it to heart once I finally was able to order a beer. I got the schnitzel, which came with spaetzle and cabbage. I also ordered potato salad. Honestly the best thing was the spaetzle. The schnitzel was just bland. The potato salad was alright, but I've had better. I'll come back here at some point to try the sausages, but it would be nice if they had a sausage platter or sampler for one, rather than 3-4 people. I don't want to have to order a bunch of sausages individually to try them and then have them all come in a bun.

We ordered all of the awesome stuff at Würst Bier Hall Downtown Fargo. Beer and bacon "paired" flight, giant pretzel with all of the exotic sausages, knoephla soup and blueberry kuchen for desert. Food and service were very good but the place could be cleaner and it really doesn't have any ambiance.

Bacon flight with beers, poutine, bison burger, or any of the mostly regional sausages are awesome. Venison is great along with all the biers!

Wurst Bier Hall is great. I love all the food selections plus it authentic German food. We took my in-laws side of the family there once because they are very German. I think they appreciated that we went to a place that was unique but also authentic. Service was great. Prices seem fair. I would definitely go again.

This was a great start for our first trip to Fargo. On a cold winter day, beer, soup, sausages, and a giant pretzel seemed like just the ticket! We started with the knoephla soup, since the online guides said we should, and our helpful server reinforced it. He said, "pretty much everyone's grandma makes it and I love it." This soup really does feel like a grandmotherly hug and it's delicious. We followed with the bacon and beer flight, mostly because we've never seen that on a menu before. The flight included peppered bacon paired with Hefeweizen, Guinness glaze bacon with Dunkel, brown sugar bacon with Fargo Iron Horse, and smoked bacon with Summit Porter. I think the Guinness with Dunkel was my favorite. I would have liked all of the bacon to be cooked a little longer, but they were still good. We were still working on the soup and the bacon when the behemoth arrived--the exotic sausage platter. We added a sausage for good measure because we couldn't decide on just three. Our choices were boar, rabbit, pheasant, and buffalo cheddar. The boar was my favorite, but the rabbit was a close second. In addition to the monster pretzel, the platter included sides of red cabbage, sautéed onions, jalapeños, German potato salad, sautéed bell peppers, and sauerkraut. And a large cup of beer cheese dip--I could drink this. I wasn't a fan of the potato salad, but truth be told, I seldom like potato salad. We finished with a piece of kuchen, a nice way to end a great meal. I can see how this would be a fun place to hang out with a crowd. My only ding was that the food came out way too fast, which I know would be a good thing if you have a big group, but we felt a little rushed. All in all, though, we enjoyed our visit!

Not only is a visit to Wurst going to leave you with a satisfied, full belly, but also an experience. The decor, long tables, along with the beer and food selection will make you forget that you're in Fargo. If you visit with a group, be sure to get the sausage platter. It is a massive sampler of all the can't miss items. If you're going it alone, the pretzels, pierogi's and poutine are some of my favorite apps. The spaetzel Mac n cheese is a FAVORITE, but I also can't pass up a buffalo blue cheese sausage with their honey mustard and kraut on top. I haven't even gotten to the beer? You must get das boot if you're with a group. I'd venture to say Wurst has my favorite tap beer selection in town.. you just better go try it yourself!

Holy hell we loved this place! Tons of beers on tap, delicious food (we ordered the pierogis and the borscht soup TWICE in the same sitting, they were that good) and awesome conversation provided by the extraordinary Kennede! One of the - if not THE - best spots to get some grub in all of Fargo. Super bummed that we didn't get to try any of their sausage offerings (those pierogis were absolutely AMAZING so not too much FOMO) but we will definitely be going here for dinner when/if we get back to Fargo :)

This Bar/Restaurant did not disappoint! I had heard great things about it & wanted to come try the different food, I will definitely be back & I easily have leftovers for tomorrows lunch! My bartender/server (Sky) was great & worked with me to be able to taste the things I wanted to with out spending too much money & having it be too high priced! He was very insightful on the food & beverage menu! I ended up ordering the Buffalo Blue Wurst togo, so I could put it with the leftover Spaetzle Mac & Cheese & my one pretzel stick for tomorrows lunch. I will come back!

Having lived abroad in Deutschland I was beyond disappointed with the attempt of a few German items. Over cooked, dry, and unfortunately it got worse when asked for the meal to be taken back and not burnt to a hard crust. Carrying German Beer on the other hand is hard to mess up so they got that going for them. I would not recommend to a friend. I'm sorry. I was really hoping you had good authentic German recipes well prepared.

I love the perogies and food.. The staff is friendly and you can reserve an area for larger groups. The reason I only rated 4 stars is it is not very disability friendly. The restrooms are hard to get to because you have to navigate the bar and the tables that are in a very narrow space. I would come here more often if there were better seating and access options for people with wheelchairs and walkers. Also it gets LOUD. I mean concert hall level loud. It can be annoying if you are trying to hear others. But I suppose it is a bar type place so that can be expected, so I am not complaining, just a warning for those with sensory issues. Reserving an area can mitigate that somewhat. So if you are having a group thing do that! Also they do allow you to use the TVs if you rent the area. We did it for election night stuff, and primary coverage in our group. The staff was hugely helpful with that as well. Other than that, as I said the food is so good, the atmosphere is nice, and cozy, the lights aren't too dim or too bright, and I would recommend it. I'd tell you about the beer selection but I don't drink. But friends who do seem to enjoy the selection of different ales. I hope that they can address the accessibility issue (lower table/chair, and clearing the path to the restroom for example) because I would be here quite often if they did. Those perogies. God those perogies. They are heaven to my taste buds. I could buy a swimming pool full of them they are so good!

I came in for a midnight snack. The decor was interesting. They have a lot of little hooks to hang your jacket. It was a little cold in the restaurant but there were so many people just wearing T shirts. The people were nice and the tables have paper towels to share with all your bench mates. The mac and cheese was very gooey. Burger was juicy and saucy. The fries and the bratwurst were also great.

ever since they got new owners send of 2023 they've cut down in their vegan menu by removing everything. this place use to be the staple for vegans in the FM area. shame they don't consider their audience

After my first visit here I wasn't originally going to write a review, but once I visited again and it was just as fantastic as the first time, I decided to finally give Wurst Bier some much deserved recognition. Don't be fooled by the name- they serve far from the "wurst" items.. more like the "bierst" German food and tap drinks. Ha, I tried really hard there so please just appreciate the effort. There are two Wurst Biers- this downtown location and one in West Fargo. I believe this is the original location, and it's way freaking cooler than the WF one anyways so come to this one for the full experience. It's just got such a cool vibe and it's different in each room depending where you sit (or outside!). Okay, so real talk. You can't go wrong with any of their appetizers, and their bavarian pretzels are absolutely TO DIE FOR. Yep, you read right- their pretzels are incredible. They're about the size of your face and come with cheese and marshmallow dipping, and are heaven in your mouth. The food here is just fantastic- heavy, as it is German food, but fantastic nonetheless. And they have a lot of good alcohol options to pair them with. There's even a bacon & beer flight where you have 4 types of bacon and specialty beers to wash down each bacon with. Tons of fun!

Würst Bier Hall has a great atmosphere for getting together with friends. There are not a lot of gluten free options for those with celiac disease, but it is doable. I was able to order the beet soup, potato salad, and a sausage, however the price did not justify the amount of food, hence the three stars. Aside from that, the staff were kind and well knowledgeable.

If you liked a variety of sausages and beers Wurst is the best. Whether it is the Buffalo cheddar or some of the more common pork and beef sausages you can douse it with any number of beers. Some of the offerings were better than others but overall a decent experience.

Love the bacon flight, sweet potato fries, and their different sweet ciders. Only wish I could eat brats.

Always great food. The service is above average, but not great. I had to ask for refills on my beverage Wurst has a rustic, almost German, flair to it. It has become one of my favorite casual dining places to eat. One of my favorite dishes is the borscht.
