"Hidden in the middle of Midtown’s Conservatory food hall is Xeo Yum, a food stall specializing in bánh xèo. Even better than the delicious little savory rice crepes and puffy pancakes happening here is sitting at the small bar and watching those little works of art materialize right in front of you. Frying pans get doused with golden batter, layered with pork belly and shrimp, and the crepes fry up until the edges get slick and crispy, transforming into a hot bánh xèo. Ah, the magic of food chemistry. What to order: bánh xèo or bánh khọt" - chelsea thomas

"There are a few Vietnamese dishes that can be hard to find outside of Chinatown, like bánh xèo (Thien An makes a great one and Dinette makes a small one), bánh khọt, or nem nướng. So when a spot opens specializing in those things, we start salivating at a Pavlovian rate. Xeo Yum, an open-kitchen food stall in Midtown’s Conservatory food hall serves all of those and more. Sit at the bar and watch as bright yellow crepes stuffed with pork belly materialize in frying pans o as each little bánh khọt gets topped with perfectly pink shrimp. Each eventual crunchy, soft, oily bite tastes like a fluffy little turmeric heaven, especially once repeatedly dunked in fish sauce." - Gianni Greene, Chelsea Thomas

I had a great experience at Xeo Yum! The Banh Xeo was absolutely delicious—super crunchy and packed with flavor. The bacon was a bit overcooked and slightly salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. The Vietnamese coffee was excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, a solid spot for authentic flavors. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

One of the best Bo ne and banh khot I’ve ever had. Portion sizes were great, presentation was nice, great atmosphere to sit down and eat delicious Vietnamese food. Lots of flavor with every bite. The drinks were okay and were nothing special. Overall, I love this place and I will come back.

Their shrimp spring rolls are gluten free! I got fish sauce instead of the peanut sauce which is not gf. Delicious FRESH coconut imported from Vietnam! Friendly people. Highly recommend

FYI: located in good hall so be aware of limited parking and open seating. We had the banh xeo, bo luc lac, and bo ne. The meat in the beef dishes was so tender and juicy. The sauce- delicious, and I wanted to dip everything in it. And the whole garlic- the best! Banh xeo was crispy and flavorful!

It was beyond my expectations. Bánh Khọt was super crispy and had a well balanced aroma of turmeric and coconut milk. The fish sauce was kinda lacking of “something” honestly to say but I still enjoyed it so much because of how good the batter was. The shrimps were also sooo fresh! Highly recommend this place!

Wow! Where to start! Kong, the chef & and founder, has a great and welcoming staff that helped answer any of our menu questions. My friend and I shared the crepe with shrimp and pork belly and also had the steak & and eggs, along with making it a combo for a few dollars more. (2 egg rolls and a drink) we learned about the concept and were totally spoiled by sitting at the bar area getting to watch these beautiful culinary creations come together! We will definitely be back to explore more of the menu and the Conservatorys other offerings as well. So glad this place is a part of Houston and not far from my house.
