Xiao Ya Tou has a playful energy and nostalgic touches that made the space feel alive. We tried the Lobster Kueh Pie Tee, Truffle Roast Duck, Crab Fried Rice, and Beef Horfun. Everything was okay - the duck was rich, the fried rice comforting, and the horfun had great wok hei. The kueh pie tee was fun, the beef missed a mark.
Overall, the food was nice but not quite memorable. Like a “nice” person you’d happily chat with at a party but wouldn’t text the next day.
Would return for the atmosphere and a good night out, but probably not chasing any cravings.
