I usually don't like ordering at the counter, but they were wonderful. Our order was taken quickly, and she answered our questions. Once we gave her our order, she made our drinks and handed them to us. Everything was clean and easy to access. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our food was brought to the table quickly. Plates were picked up once we were done. It was a nice lunch, and I will definitely go back to sample other dishes.

Google
What a great idea for a brewery! Latino inspired beers and drinks with delicious food! Love a brewery with a beer flight (also have margarita flight). Paloma was refreshing. Taquitos and the tacos were bomb. MUY BUENO!!!

Google
Absolutely delicious. I loved their specials: fish tacos and chicken pozole. Their beers are cocktails are yummy too!

Google
Okay, you have to check out this awesome Mexican brewery and taphouse, it's seriously a blast! They've got the most vibrant decor, it's like walking into a fiesta, and the beer is top-notch. Also, their spicy margaritas are legendary, they really pack a punch! Best part? They show the Timbers games, so you can cheer on your team while enjoying some amazing food and drinks.

Google
Drinks are delicious. Margaritas taste like real flavors and not sugar syrup. Brewery folks know what they are doing. Happy hour all day during football season! Flavors are big, bold and so good. Ask for the habanero sauce as it does not come automatically.

Google
A great place that is a hybrid of South American and Mexican food! It's the only place I visit in my work uniform. Beers, Pork belly tacos, burritos. It's all delish and wonderfully plated with home made tortillas. Do not pass this place up! Top 3 places to eat in Salem/Keizer.

Google
Came to try the chela because I saw it on PBS and ended up going with a stout because I'm a stout drinker. Got the chela in cans to go and a plate of food with my stout. Food and beer was great. Lucky for me Sunday is 4 cans for $10 :)

Google
Dropped in for dinner with my gf. Food came out quickly. Prices are not bad. And the staff was nice. I’d recommend trying the Birria. Pretty decent. Croquettes were pretty good as well. Would recommend trying them out.

Yelp
Finally made it over to the North Salem location after being loyal to the West side since I live near by. This spot is bigger, brighter, and has a ton of parking so no circling the lot like a hungry vulture. Perfect setup if you've got a big crew too! The line looked intimidating at first, but it moved faster than I thought. I went with my usual: the barbacoa nachos, because honestly, why mess with perfection? They're mouth-watering every single time. I've tried other dishes, but somehow the nachos keep calling me back. Also, if considering a fruity margarita( they're delicious and dangerously easy to drink. Super friendly service and bomb food as always. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Overall, it is a really nice place! There is indoor and outdoor seating available. A vibe for everyone: a quick dinner, drinks with friends, or I've even seen families with children dine-in. With ongoing events it is a nice place for any day of the week. The service is good, you really only place an order with servers and they might check in but it's sort of food cart style if you will. However, the few interactions I have had with servers has always been positive. The food is good, I've had the $10, 2 pupusa special and it's one of my favorites. The chips are really light and fresh, I would recommend them for a starter.

Yelp
Excellent food! Stopped in while road-tripping through Oregon and after a 8-mile hike in Silver Falls State Park, decided a beer was in order! The beer was good, I also sampled the chili-infused beer which was quite tasty without being overly spicy. I was REALLY impressed by the food! Very flavorful, good quality, and intersting options. Was disappinted that they were out of the smoked trout taquitos, but everything else we ordered (veggie empanadas, shrimp tacos, patatas bravas) were amazing!! They had several TVs which was nice to watch football, and the space was pretty ample with a pool table! I'd also give 5 stars for service alone - everyone was extremely nice and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We love this location because it's so much more roomy and many more tables. Half our table received our food pretty fast and then they got really busy so the food started coming out a little slower. The croquetas were delicious as always. The pupusas on special were yummy as well! The mixed taco plate was a little disappointing this visit because the two pork belly tacos the pork was overcooked almost too hard and crunchy to eat. The shrimp on the shrimp taco were plump and juicy. Can't beat the homemade tortillas. Another person at our table ordered the costillas (pork rib's) that were on special and loved them. It's a small portion so he ordered 2 tacos as well. His pork belly was overcooked almost too cooked as well but he enjoyed the shrimp taco also. We had a couple rounds of drinks and everyone went home full and happy. Until next time ~Cheers!

Yelp
Great counter service... order at the counter and take a seat. Very good flight of Margaritas highly recommend. We had an amazing assortment of food. Taquitos, Short ribs and Chimichangas. The beef Chimichangas come with a Birria sauce.

Yelp
Loving this new location. Same amazing food, kind staff, and a nice little patio my dog loved. Ceviche was very fresh.

Yelp
Good and friendly customer service. The food was so delicious! We ordered nachos, taquitos and tacos. The pricing is pretty decent. Drinks were so good. Also keep in mind that this place has special events with live music and kid welcome till time of closing. This was on February 15 celebrating Valentine's Day.

Yelp
Our destination was known: Silver Falls State Park just outside of Silverton, Oregon. We wanted to enter the Fall season with a whiff of crisp mountain air and a mindful of epic photos of Mother Nature in full make up mode! We exited the park with an overflowing spirit of peace and an empty stomach ready to be refilled after conquering a few miles of lush trails. Not knowing what the local food scene was going to offer I looked for something familiar yet different, Mexican food with flavor and attitude but refined to the pallet and the mind. Xicha Brewing Company sold me with the dynamic duo of micro brew with some sopes. So we drove down the trail looking forward to a natural high. XBC is located in an upgraded strip mall that I'm sure housed a mechanic shop or a hair salon or maybe both. (You know how we cleverly combine things like jewelry stores and pan!) Walking into this joint reminded me of a college kitchen with some first semester murals. We were confused as to how things worked here so stood a bit dazed and confused for a moment. Eventuality we worked our way to the counter and found out quickly that it was an order and sit place. I quickly asked about the sopes because they were no where to be found on the menu. Only to find that the Sopes had been Iced, cancelled and kicked to the border. I did think of leaving and hunting down a different place but my OCD eyes quickly focused on the beer selection and decided to give this place a shot. I had to try a beer flight of four beers but the selection sounded like a second string list of Latino sports players. I had to try the Guava ribs, the Brava Potatoes, the three tacos and my wife was in the mood for some pozole. The beer flight never took off and did nose dive after the initial sips, they were simply flat and boring like an old tortilla! The Brava Potatoes were okay, just OKAY, they needed salt and maybe a shot some Mexican steroids. The Guava ribs were a bit dry, somehow the concept of Guava anything was lost in the overall flat taste, no salt, no flavor and no gusto! My three tacos were also flat, unexciting and boring! They needed some salsa, some love to bring them back to life. However the corn tortillas were very nice! Asking my wife about her pozole, she simply said "mine is a lot better." I was now hoping for a Hail Mary with or without a candle and asked about the Pumpkin Tres Leches dessert and the girl behind the counter mentioned to me that the desert was on the special 3 course meal and could not be offered as a separate item. Since when does Raza act all exclusive about food like that? She did however mention to me that she would ask about making an exception since my face was about to hit the floor! She came back during our uneventful dinner to tell us that the kitchen had said , no way Jose! She did try and console us by saying that it honestly wasn't that great! XBC is not a place for people that live in places with street food vendors on most corners of the city, people who want flavorful food and for people that would rather drink a cold Tecate! Do yourself a favor and just drive 14 hours and 32 minutes to LA, it might just be worth the trip!

Yelp
Ordered the barbacoa tacos and I can say they were the best tacos I've ever had in my whole life. I grew up in this town with many places to get tacos but this one takes the cake. Everything is super fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My first time at this location, Xicha (at its other Salem location) has always turned out good food and tasty drinks - it was no exception at this North Salem location. To celebrate National Ceviche Day - and my birthday - I wanted to try their Ceviche Tostada Trio Especial, offered only this weekend. I'm so happy I made the trek into town to get this oh-so-yummy trio of crispy tostada shells filled to over-flowing with three different ceviches: shrimp, scallop, and salmon. Covered with chunks of avocado, thinly sliced jalapeños, chopped tomatoes and red onions, with lime wedges on the side as well as a tasty chili oil, the tostadas were mighty delicious. To quench the birthday thirst, I ordered a house Xicha margarita with a mango tagin rim and it did not disappoint. While I was eating, the kitchen sent out a plate of hot freshly made churros with a chocolate dipping sauce in honor of my birthday - what a cool surprise! Kudos to the staff! This location has a cool vibe with attentive servers (food delivery only - orders are taken at the counter) and delicious food and drinks. I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
We went two days in a row for lunch. I can't rave enough. Pork belly tacos. Couldn't rave enough

Yelp
I opened up Yelp while on the road, and this place popped up first. It's just off the highway. I have been eating Mexican food my entire life, and this was some of the best I've ever had. The woman who served us was also incredibly friendly and helpful. Great space too. I'd eat here three time a week if I lived here.

Yelp
We've always had wonderful experiences at Xicha Brewery in North Salem. The food and beer are consistently excellent--some of the best in the area--and we've always loved the welcoming atmosphere. However, our most recent visit left us feeling a bit disappointed. We brought our service animal, as we've done before without issue, but were approached by an employee who told us no animals were allowed unless they were service animals. We completely understand and support that policy. We informed her our dog is a service animal and even offered to show documentation--though under Oregon and federal law, businesses are not permitted to require or demand paperwork for a service animal. Instead of simply accepting that or declining to view it, the staff member questioned the validity of the documentation because it didn't have our dog's photo. That's not a legal requirement, and in fact, the law only allows businesses to ask two questions: whether the dog is required due to a disability, and what task it is trained to perform. She did ultimately let us stay, but the tone and questioning felt unwelcoming, especially given how supportive and inclusive the service has always been in the past. We still love Xicha and want to continue supporting them. We're hopeful this was just a misunderstanding and that staff receive a little more training on service animal protocol in the future. We're looking forward to our next visit being more in line with the outstanding experiences we've come to expect.

Yelp
We were traveling from Portland to Eugene at dinner time and I thought a brewery would work I'm so glad this one came up highly recommended. The beer which is made there was very good as well as the food! We had their specials of the day ( fish tacos and shrimp and asparagus quesadillas) Yum!

Steve M.

Yelp
I found this place and it looked good to try. I ordered some Pupusas, and their Cubano Sandwich. The pupusas were well cooked and flavorful when topped with their cabbage and dressing. The Cubano Sandwich was a different spin of the original but was delicious and with the side of potato wedges tied it all together. The service was quick and friendly and lots of smiles. The ambiance reminded me of some places I visit in LA and I would highly recommend Xicha if you're a local or visiting Salem.

Yelp
One of the best hazy IPAs - Passiflora - and the food was on point. I'm used to my CO/NM food, but the croquetas and birria were delicious. Staff were super nice, even though there was a contentious fútbol game on the TV. We try to support Latine owned breweries when we find them and we'd definitely come again.

Yelp
In addition to their fine establishment in West Salem (and one in Eugene, which I haven't been to), Xicha has added Xicha Brewing North in the 45th Parallel building (in the space formerly occupied by Vagabond Brewing). When I went in on grand opening day, I had to order both food and drinks at the main station, not at the bar. I stood for a while at the bar looking over the beverage options and even asked the bartender what he was making. None of the bartenders bothered to tell me I had to order at the other station. And they were either unfriendly or ignored me completely. So, if I can't order at the bar, how do I get a sample of their beers prior to buying? Every brewery or taphouse offers that option. I don't buy any beer at breweries that I've never tried, and I don't intend to start now. I'm not a big beer drinker anyway, so I was happy to see wine, cider, and hard liquor choices. I opted for the Sauvignon Blanc, which was very good, but pricey. Menu options: limited but very good: looks like the same food fare as the West location if I recall. They do have varied specials, though. As far as regular menu items, I'm particularly fond of the Smoked Trout Taquitos. I opted for the Barbacoa (Beef) Nachos as well. The beef quality was excellent, and the nachos were a nice blend of flavors. Plus, Xicha delivers an excellent presentation on both food and drinks. Since it was grand opening day, and they were super busy, I wanted to give them a little leeway on my rating. But in addition to the bartenders who ignored me and the odd layout, I got the wrong wine initially, which they promptly corrected. Then when I tried to order a different beverage option from the online menu via the Q-reader, I couldn't find the drink option my friend wanted. So, we waited in line (no tableside service here; they just deliver orders). When I got up to the register, I asked to have the drinks put on my tab. They had to ring me up a separate ticket from my table number, and I was told I'd have to pay at the table via my app for my initial order. What? Why can't I just pay for everything all at once? So, I get back to my table, and try to figure out the app but can't find an option to pay. We flagged down a server and asked if he could just bring out a portable paying device because I couldn't figure out the app and didn't want to wait in line again. He did, but I never got to see how much I actually paid, nor did I get a chance to tip (I did on the other transaction), nor did I get a receipt. (I did leave a cash tip later). To be honest, I've never been fond of using those dining apps. When I go out to eat, I don't want to utilize any tech. Just give me a menu and a good waiter or waitress and I'm a happy camper. They get style points for live music (but suspect this won't be a regular occurrence), and the food is fantastic. But they have to work out some kinks to equal the Westside location. I'm looking forward to see how this place blossoms, though. I've always liked this location and am happy to see it utilized once again. And I will return to give them another chance or two, so I can hopefully bump up their rating then.

Yelp
The food and margaritas are pretty good! We went for lunch and it was pretty quiet. It was a pretty big space with tons of natural lighting. For an appetizer we got the chips and salsa and trio taco mixto, we tried the barbacoa and pork belly. The pork belly was my favorite! The flavors for the margarita flight were your classic Mexican flavors, the passion fruit margarita was the star. They do have a variety of beers on tap as well! We ordered at the front counter, they gave us a number and we were able to pick our table. Everything came out pretty quickly! My only thing was it was a bit pricey but otherwise not a bad place to check out :)

Sandi F.

Yelp
It's a whole vibe. Live music often. Dance classes and fees go to a scholarship. Food and margaritas definitely worth the trip. Friendly servers and bar staff. Owners are very friendly.

Daniel B.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in at the West Salem location, frequently, then it closed. We were waiting for it to reopen, but finally caved in and made the drive to North Salem, from Independence. We still miss the West Salem location, but we're definitely happy to have tried the North Salem location. The shrimp tacos have always been our favorite, but I think the shrimp and asparagus quesadilla and Romaine Cesar with shrimp are our new favorites! Same delicious beer selection, with seasonal beers added regularly. Special note...Jose' has been our beer-tender/server the two times we've been in and he's without a doubt a great asset to Xicha! Very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
New location bigger dinning area, but it was a ghost town. Just a few guys watching soccer. It was super cold inside and uncomfortable seating. We asked questions about the beers but the waitress just said we could go to the bar and ask. No one was at the bar he was cleaning and sweeping up. So we left.

Robert J.

Yelp
Went there Friday night. Service excellent, and food was awesome. Had chicken tacos and the shredded pork nachos. Some kind of mixup and they brought me pork belly nachos. Counter person was great and they fixed right away. You will not be disappointed here.

Brent R.

Yelp
Great food and great cocktails! I had their chimichanga and my wife had them Barbacoa tacos, both were excellent! The service is good. My only issue is you have to go up to the counter and order food and drinks . I feel that at those prices they should have a wait staff. Great staff and great atmosphere.

Nick H.

Yelp
This place deserves more than 5 stars. Their menu is unique and perfectly executed. I love the artwork painted on the walls. The beers are also unique respectable.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
The new location is thriving. It can take time to settle in and they are doing just that. Excellent service from Saul and crew. Amazing beer and cocktails. The special lately have been on fire. Keep up the good work and refine what you do!

Hugo B.

Yelp
Food amazing, service on point. I recommend this 'restaurant. ,the relaIxed ambience of the cocktail lounge, so enjoyable...

Yelp
OMG. Every time I come here I am blown away by the quality and complexity of the food, the dynamic flavors of the beer (hint: don't expect traditional American beer flavor) and the service. All of it is wonderful. So much so I always forget to take photos. So here's the after/in progress photos!
google avatar

MB A.

Yelp
The food is delicious. I have not been disappointed with anything I have ordered. Try margarita flights.
google avatar

Ruth L.

Yelp
The food is unique, you won't find this menu anywhere else. I like to order churros as an appetizer. There are interesting drinks and house brewed beer. It is a child friendly experience. The North Salem location has a bright, festive atmosphere with colorful murals and a sunny patio. The West Salem restaurant has an industrial vibe, with a shaded patio and fire pit. Service is adequate. Orders are taken at the counter and food is brought to your table. Guests pick up their water at a station. Napkins and silverware are available at the table in a can. My family enjoys going to Xicha several times throughout the year.
google avatar

Jana-Lee G.

Yelp
We were in town briefly and yelp pics looked inviting. The food is amazing!!!! Fresh and delicious! I wish they'd open a location in pdx!
google avatar

Vicky P.

Yelp
Margarita flight tasted like it had 0 alcohol in it and I was just drinking juice. 20$ Service the girl knew nothing about their food they were selling. 6 tacos, margarita flight and 4 taquitos= $74.00. Over priced. Do not recommend.

Sara S.

Yelp
Ate here tonight with my partner and son. Kiddo got the cheese quesadilla with black beans. I had the barbacoa tacos and Pozole. The tacos were ok. The flavor of the barbacoa was lost in the taste of the tortillas. The tortilla really overpowered but was saved by the pickled onions. The Pozole was a disappointment. It didn't come with any chips and was so salty we couldn't finish it; left half of it on the table. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice with varying seating options and tvs for sports entertainment. It has a stage with a couch which I assume is used for live music but there wasn't any the night we were there.
google avatar

Paula S.

Yelp
We had a delightful and delicious evening at the gorgeous new at Xicha! The barbacoa and flan was fabulous, the chocolate stout beer and the margarita sampler were a lot of tasty fun and the staff were friendly and attentive. Huge win! We will be back.
google avatar

Sylvia B.

Yelp
West side, best side. This was just...ok. Taco meat was dry. Pickled onions weren't pickled. Chips and salsa don't actually come with salsa. I ordered a side of rice and beans (like the west side) and the lady told me they could serve me white rice with a side of bean dip. Uhhh what

Wendy K.

Yelp
Great food, service, and location! Everything is always perfect, but our favs are always the Barbacoa tacos and nachos. And the churros!

delia t.

Yelp
Food was colorful and spicy but the flavor just wasn't there. Over priced. Service was minimal, didn't feel welcoming or friendly. The events they have like the bachata nights look fun, but I came during a Sunday afternoon and it was very underwhelming. You can get better cheaper tacos from the food truck down the street. Also the pickled red onions were the worst I've ever had, my homemade ones are a thousand times better. Definitely don't recommend and won't be back.
