It was truly a pleasure dining at this restaurant, the atmosphere, the music, and the energy of the place are absolutely magical! We ordered the aguachile and al pastor margaritas, and both were delicious. We started with the guacamole, which was really good! Then we had the Caesar salad, which is a total must the table side preparation is enchanting, and the flavor is unique. The “Vuelve a la Vida,” a Veracruz-style seafood cocktail, was also amazing, such a great mix of flavors. The esquites were very tasty as well. I can’t wait to come back and keep trying all the incredible options of their menu!🙌🏼 Welcome to AVL Xico!❤️

Chef Scott and his team have created something special here. Honestly. The food has the Mexican heart and soul, capturing flavors and textures that excite, and it’s elevated in its presentation and feel. I’ve spent a lot of time in Oaxaca, and tasted some incredible Mole, and the duck with Mole negro is a win. The fresh seafood was stellar, and don’t miss the Huitlacoche quesadilla. Unique to Mexico and hard to find here in the states. The guacamole was fresh and spiced just enough. The two surprises for me were the steak and the duck sope. The former with melted cheese and blue corn and the latter just fantastic in the combination of duck, cheese, pickled onions and beans, all the flavors of the region done well. Will the price points feel like a lot to some? Perhaps, but people who complain about that should do a better job checking what things cost these days. And given the generous size of the portions and the quality of the tastes, I can’t find a reasonable objection. The service was solid as well, the team seemed capable and all of them invested in making sure they shared details about the dishes, and they both checked in enough and gave us the space we needed to enjoy. We have some great Mexican food in this town already. But this level of quality and presentation combined with the lively atmosphere…not easy to find, until now. Thanks Xico, see you soon!

Party of 5 last night for a birthday celebration! The food was OUTSTANDING! The drinks were great, the server was knowledgeable and never missed a beat (Sebastian, I believe)! We had guacamole, Caesar [table-side] salads (she had gloves on!!!), duck mole, enchiladas and oysters. Absolutely everything was delicious! I can attest that the Paloma, Classic and Pastor margaritas were great! Every restaurant has opening kinks to work through, but we sure didn't notice any... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Google
Xico is a 10/10 experience. The space is stunning, the energy is amazing, and the food is next-level. Fresh-pressed masa tortillas, wood fired steaks, bold flavors, every bite was incredible. The cocktails and mezcal selection were unreal, and the service was genuinely some of the best I’ve had in Asheville. Don’t skip out on the Tuna Tostada, Caesar Salad, fresh chips and homemade salsas and guacamole. I especially loved the mushroom quesadilla. Chef Scott brought his amazing flavors from Miami to Asheville and I can’t wait to watch this city fall in love with him and his dishes here. If you’re looking for a spot that feels special but still relaxed and fun, go here! Already can’t wait to go back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a wonderful meal at this new spot in Asheville. Amazing ambiance and decor. Really made me feel like I was at a fancy restaurant in Mexico. Our server Rachel was great as well. Overheard someone saying they were short staff but we couldn't tell. Lucky to have this amazing new spot in Asheville. Gotta get the table side Ceaser next time. It looked amazing

Google
Xico makes you feel like family. The staff was warm and engaging; they didn’t just bring us food, they wanted to make sure we were enjoying everything about our experience. The food and drinks were interesting and delicious - amazing flavors and textures. The vibe was great energy - lively and warm. The decor is creative and clever. All in all, it was a really fun, special place to be - nothing like it in Asheville. It made us feel like we were a part of something! Highly recommend!

Looks like we may be the first to review Xico on Google Maps. We dined on opening night, knowing that dining it could be hit or miss, but we were excited to try it. The first impression was disappointing. We arrived 15mins early for our reservation (we got lucky with parking!), but were told to wait by the bench or come back later though restaurant was half empty. We asked if we can have drinks at our table till our server is ready and the answer was still no. We then asked about a bar and only after much hesitation and consulting with another staff member were we allowed in. Before we even took a sip of our drinks, we were told to close out and move to our table. Thankfully, our server Courtney turned the experience around. She was warm, enthusiastic and helped us navigate a menu that wasn’t clearly organized between small plates, sharing plates and mains. We order the Pollo Carbon Quesadilla, Arrachera (Black Angus Beef) and Papas (roasted fingerlings). The food was flavorful and creative, though some garnishes was quite spicy. What was missing for us was the storytelling - the wood fire cooking, freshly made tortillas and the craft behind the dishes and a warm and cheerful vibe. Decor is nicely done though, artsy and cool! In Asheville’s gourmet scene, great food is essential, but the overall experience is what brings locals back.

Worth every penny! Beautiful, fun atmosphere. The entire staff was great and attentive. We had the table side Caesar salad, guacamole, tuna tostaditas, ribeye, pappas and corn. All were delicious. As locals, we are happy for this new place. We will be back-A lot of

Yelp
OMG, run dont walk. This place is seriously fabulous. A complete experience. Sorry no photos as I was busy tucking in and enjoying the scene. Only did one side of the menu before quitting, but will be back for the serious side. Plus next time I will be at the bar, which is a very cute spot. Thank you for this place.
