The Best Chinese Food in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"This casual spot just blocks from the river in the heart of downtown is known for its dumplings, namely the tender xiao long bao. Owner and chef Leon Liu is from Shenyang in Northern China, which is known for its dough-based dishes. At Xing Ding he prepares pan-fried buns, Szechuan beef noodle soup, and wontons in chili sauce. The best part may be that on Friday and Saturday nights, the restaurant is open until 2 a.m. — ideal for Portland’s night owls." - Seiji Nanbu

A Guide to the Ultimate Staycation in Portland’s Old Town-Chinatown | Eater Portland

"I ventured across Burnside for brunch at Xin Ding Dumpling House, where chef Leon Liu handmakes the plump, gleaming dumplings that anchor a menu of larger plates to share, soups, dried pot dishes, and noodles; steamer baskets arrive with piping hot xiao long bao, dumplings packed with tender lamb, pork and leek potstickers, and dim sum classics like crystal shrimp dumplings, and fluffy bao filled with molten black sesame or salted egg custard make a sweet finish." - Janey Wong

Google
We got the spicy tofu buns - these were so good, not spicy at all. The veggie and chicken dumplings were also so good. Chow mein was 10/10. Personally for all this food I think the price is fair , our waitress was really nice.

Google
Great authentic food! Visited with my Chinese family and we all enjoyed it. The dumplings are great but the best dish was the Dry Pot cauliflowers. Portion sizes are also generous, we ended up taking leftovers to go for dinner. Excellent and friendly service as well. Great, reliable spot for a quick but delicious meal.

Google
It's a bit of a dive bar, but cooking old-school Chinese food. I got the xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) and the beef chow fun. Both were good. I wish I'd gotten the spicy chow fun! I'll be back to try more of their menu. It's a bit expensive, but they do know how to use a wok! Do yourself a favor and skip the panda express style dishes and go for the old country style dishes. Your taste buds will thank you.

Google
We were craving soup dumplings, and this place definitely hit the spot. My family thought the wrappers could be a bit softer, but I actually really liked them. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous.

Google
We had an amazing experience overall, mostly thanks to the incredible food. Every single dish we ordered was fresh and flavorful. We tried the fried rice, the Chongqing Style Hot Chicken, Pork Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, Pork Buns, Shrimp Shumai, and the stir-fried eggplant & string beans, and honestly, there wasn’t a single miss on the table. Best of all the portions were big. The Chongqing Style Hot Chicken stood out , crispy, spicy, and full of bold flavors that made it hard to stop eating. The Xiao Long Bao, the pork buns and Shrimp Shumai all had a great texture and tasted super fresh. The stir fried eggplant and string beans was amazing as well. One of the highlights was knowing that the dim sum is all house made, you can really taste the difference in the quality and freshness. That said, the experience wasn’t perfect. The service left something to be desired. It wasn’t terrible, but it could definitely be more attentive and prompt. There were a few times we had to wait longer than expected to get a server’s attention or request something more than once. Also, parking is a bit of a hassle since it’s limited to street parking only. Depending on the time you go, it can be a bit stressful trying to find a spot nearby. Despite those issues, the food alone makes this place worth visiting. I’d absolutely come back again, and next time we hope for a more attentive service experience. Can’t wait to try other things in their menu.

Google
I love that this restaurant is open so late - perfect place to stop in and enjoy a good meal (even if it is 1am). We ordered the sweet and spicy chicken, though it was pretty much like a milder version of orange chicken, it was still delicious and the portions were GREAT for the price. Real family sized portions here. The soup dumplings were yummy, although a tad of the doughy side (still would recommend though). I also love that true dim sum is still served late night and not just in the morning like some other places. Shrimp dishes were cooked perfectly as well. I'll definitely be coming back!

Google
Xin Ding is an exquisite dining experience! This was my first time dining in, and the food is so good the line out the door didn't deter me in the slightest. The Broccoli Chicken is the best I have ever had. It's so simple, but the flavor is incredible! The green onion pancake, dumplings, wonton and xiao long bao were all equally phenomenal. The custard bun was new to me, and it was quite delicious!

Google
We have been here a couple of times and every time we have thoroughly enjoyed everything we have ordered. The Wonton in Chilli Sauce are so moorish! The plates are a great size and you will definitely not leave feeling hungry. The staff too are very friendly and attentive and the food came out pretty quickly. A definite two thumbs up from me!

Marisol R.

Yelp
Great fumbling and great environment staff very attentive food was very delicious great place too visit if you are here at Portland

Dennis S.

Yelp
Excellent every time we've eaten there since they opened. Whether simply indulging in dumplings or organizing a dinner for 10, this place rocks.
google avatar

Yelp
Filling, flavorful, heavy, good price for amount of food given (lunch). Ordered: braised pork belly with veggies, xiao long bao, braised beef noodle soup
google avatar

Quentin T.

Yelp
Solid Xiao Long Bao, not exceptional but solid. I found the broth to be fairly bland but the dumpling itself had a good bounce & chew. Came in here ready to do some damage after a long morning walking around Portland & crossing the river twice. After taking down a Tsingtao & a full order of xiao long bao I opted to forgo another menu item & try out a different dumpling spot for pan fried dumplings. If i had more time in the city i would have sampled another item here but had to spread the love. Service was good here & seating was ample.

Yelp
My friend really likes this place and compares it to places like DTF and she claims that this place is better in quality, price and taste! We came here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy but we somehow managed to grab a table at the bar, and eat quickly before my flight! The Sichuan dishes here are really good, I loved the crispy chicken and fish we got and the pork XLB was so so good. I wish they had a chicken XLB or spicy veggie/chicken wontons but with what they had they definitely knocked it out of the park. Great place!

Yelp
-Ordered pork wonton in chili oil, $15 rating: 5/10 Still hot nothing crazy in the flavoring -Pork steam bun (4 pk), $13 rating: 6/10, Still hot and decent flavoring -Crispy Mandarin Chicken, $16 rating: high 7 out 10, Chicken was nice and tender was a little bland though. The main thing carrying the 7 is how tender the chicken is -Chow fun, $16 rating high 7 out of 10, chicken and beef was nice and tender this dish was practically the same as mandarin chicken kind of bland but the tenderness of the meat carries the score. Added note: there was only 3 shrimp not sure if that normal
google avatar

Jailene C.

Yelp
Food was pretty underwhelming, specially the xiao long baos. Broth had absolutely no flavor, filling lacked flavor, and the dough felt very stiff at the top and hard to bite into at the end. Chow mein was fine, spicy wontons once again lacked flavor, chili oil was super runny, also not even offered as a dipping sauce like other restaurants. Service was alright, nothing special, wait didn't take super long but it was kind of busy. Vibes were good, food quality was just not upto expectations.

Yelp
This used to be the old Thirsty Lion establishment. They converted it over to this dumpling house and I was pretty impressed. It does seem higher end, kind of like the feel of Din Tai Fung. Service staff was great and receptive to our needs. Ok now to get to the food, we started with the pork xiao long bao. The savory pork mixture with the soup mix was a very flavorful combination. The wonton wrappers were thin and twisted evenly. They held well in the bamboo steamers. The combination chow mein was pretty good. The noodles had a nice al dente chew and pull to them. It was very satisfying to eat. The egg on top was a little overdone. The cherry on top was the honey walnut shrimp. The outer coating was incredibly crispy with a coating of luscious honey mayonnaise. The caramelized walnuts were a perfect accompaniment. Instead of the usual wilted bed of lettuce that it is typically on, there was some fresh broccoli that really hit the spot. Lastly, we got some drinks. The white peach sake martini was a nice balanced, fruity drink. The crowd pleaser was definitely the lychee martini. The fruit was well highlighted without the vodka being too overbearing. This place was a real treat. If we are craving soup dumplings or the honey walnut shrimp, this is the place to be.

Yelp
Amazing XLB, sometimes open late! I love this spot for the food specifically. The servers are always nice, sometimes absent but always kind. It's a sports bar, which is wild because I never remember that at all- I'm so food focused- and each time i go i find out it's a sports bar again.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
Delicious food. Great old establishment with attentive waitstaff. Large portions of tasty food - love the chili oil wontons!! Right smack downtown so parking can be tricky. Worth it tho!
google avatar

Allison Z.

Yelp
Had to try this place after reading the reviews, we all got a chicken dish, all which were absolutely phenomenal. Best sesame chicken, and kung pao we've had. I tried the hot style chicken to try something new, and wow was it great. Crispy, hot but not too hot, great flavor and I would get it again. Only minus a star for the cleanliness of the restaurant and staff could be improved.
google avatar

Taryn M.

Yelp
In short - I was disappointed. Sat at the bar and the service was lacking. Watched the bartenders eat from the employee cabinet the whole time and didn't really have a 'server'. Restaurant itself was large and could seat large parties at family style tables. Pork Xiao Long Bao - dumplings came out perfect temp but lacked in flavor. Left this dish unfinished. Wontons in Chili Sauce - mostly oil and like the other dish lacking flavor. We left these unfinished as well. Beef Chow Fun (Not Pictured) - looked the most promising! Noodles were great texture and wanted to love this dish. However, similar to the others lacked flavor. Unfortunately, this should be a skip on our Portland itinerary.

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and cocktails! The soup dumplings, fried potstickers, and fried buns were great. The surprise hit was the beef roll.
google avatar

Jed M.

Yelp
This was my favorite place in Portland! So good we went back a second meal on the same trip! Loved the quick friendly service- patient and kind to people like me who are amateurs in dim sum/dumplings and most Asian cuisine! Ambiance was casual but semi classy and trendy based on lighting and fixtures/accents. Loved the food and cocktails! Wontons in chili ($13.95) and Pork xiao long bao soup dumplings ($15.95) were my favorites!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Ambiance: 6/10 nice spot for a casual date night. Could get dressed up but would look a bit strange Service: 9/10 they were so kind, helpful, & social. Good crew of people working there. One of my favorite things about the place and is as memorable as the food. Food: 8.5/10 Xio Long Bao Soup Dumplings: 8.5/10 the broth was absolutely incredible. The dumplings are made in house from scratch. Need I say more? Wonton w Chili Oil: 8.5/10 I drank the chili oil when we got done eating the wontons. Need I say more?
google avatar

Jordyn S.

Yelp
Great quality and portions with a large menu of all of the classics. The spicy chow mein added an extra hint of spice to a classic dish. The garlic string beans and the hot and sour cucumbers were our favorites and add a bit of crunch to the meal. They have a fun cocktail menu as well. The pineapple mojito was the stand out!
google avatar

Alessandra G.

Yelp
When we came it was not too crowded so we were sat immediately. The dumpling wrappers are a bit thicker than other places which makes for a delicious dumpling. The Xiao long baos have a more flavorful filling than I expected. The shrimp siu mai dumpling skin was wonderful and thick and not too excessive, and the flavor was amazing. The chili wontons have a strong chili sauce flavor but the filling is also delicious. The house pork ribs with garlic are AMAZING and the best thing we ordered. The sauce is so flavorful and so garlicky. The garlic string beans could be a bit more garlicky. The chow mein is delicious but I wish there was more noodles than cabbage. Overall delicious and I will be back.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
How does the lunch special not come with rice? Also they delivery apps don't prompt you to order it! The shrimp siu mai tastes like boiled water, no flavor, no sauce included, shaped wrong. The cilantro lamb is good but I have to make rice now because it's a little spicy. I write these reviews to warn my future self who has a poor memory.
google avatar

Devin R.

Yelp
This is a great spot to get dumplings in downtown Portland. The service is fast and friendly. The cocktails are tasty. We also enjoy getting noodle dishes to accompany the xiao long bao.
google avatar

Marty H.

Yelp
Went back for lunch. Equally as good as dinner with large portions. I am obsessed with the Chicken and Broccoli.
google avatar

Gloria T.

Yelp
Chinese restaurant with an extensive menu and xiao long bao dumplings. There are many traditional Chinese dishes - northern Chinese cuisine style. Some dishes were too oily for my taste. Large, spacious restaurant that can accommodate large parties. It's in downtown with street parking.
google avatar

Marica M.

Yelp
We popped in here late on a Friday night. The restaurant was pretty busy and there was a short wait before we got seated. We tried the lychee martini for a drink and it was tasty, with good flavor! The sugar rim on the glass was a nice touch. For food, we ordered chow mein, chow fun combo, green onion scallion pancakes and green beans with garlic. All of the food was tasty and came in large portions! Definitely meant to be shared family style. We enjoyed our time at this restaurant and would return again if in the area.
google avatar

Sapna S.

Yelp
I thought this would be a nice place for a Friday night dinner, but I was unfortunately mistaken. My boyfriend and I came here around 7:30 for dinner and were seated immediately. It's a super open layout with lots of tables available. I started off with the spicy tofu buns, which tasted pretty decent. They aren't spicy at all, but it was good dipped in soy sauce. The chicken fried rice was probably some of the worst I've had. It was so bland and flavorless and was very rice heavy with less veggies. I struggled to finish and left a good portion of it. I got some chili oil to help with flavor, which didn't do much to it. Our waitress was only there to take our order and bring our check while other people brought us out the food.
google avatar

Jackie T.

Yelp
Wanted to like this place given the good reviews this place has gotten, but I was left rather disappointed. The space is pretty big with a bar area at the center of the restaurant. The building/interior of the restaurant looks on the older side and can definitely use some TLC, but we're here for the food so that's besides the point. We ordered the xiao long bao, yang chow fried rice and potstickers. The XLB aka soup dumpling came out lukewarm and without the aforementioned soup, which was disappointing. The yang chow fried rice and potsticker was just okay. The service was on par with any other Chinese restaurant; it was neither great or good. Would I dine here again? I would never say never, but there are far too many other food options for me to try in Portland, so who knows. As far as XLB (or soup dumblings for some) goes in PDX though, there is Dough Zone that's actually better imo.
google avatar

Alli G.

Yelp
I'm not an expert in dumplings but these were really delicious. We had the cucumbers, xiao long bao, scallion pancakes, and tofu buns. Pretty fair selection of vegetarian options as well. Service was super good esp because it was very busy
google avatar

Henry C.

Yelp
It's in a great location near the waterfront and a couple of blocks from Saturday Market. The place is inviting with its rich wood interior and cool grey and red exterior. If you've been to the Lan Su Chinese Garden, it's a great accompaniment to the adventure. I had the only vegan option: steamed vegetable dumplings. The vegetable buns are not vegan. The presentation is beautiful. The dough is firm but not tough. The filling was mild but delicious. I loved my dumplings. My friends had the Pork Xiao Long Bao Soup Dumplings but without the soup. That was a mixed review, hence the three stars. Tasty but not exceptional. Not impressive but still worth the try. Likewise with the green onion pancake. Fantastic to mediocre. Tough crowd. Overall a good experience. The staff was great. The setting was warm and inviting. The food was hot and fresh.
google avatar

Jimmy L.

Yelp
Our family came here for dinner and the kids love the food here. Especially the place open late on Friday and Saturday night till 1AM. The food hot and tasted really good. The service really fast and attentive. The place located in downtown Portland, OR around the corner of VOODOO Donuts. Great food and the place so spacious.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Wow, simply amazing. The textures, flavor, sauces, everything was spot on. We ordered the dry fried green beans, the spicy wontons, the pork and shrimp xiao long bao and the chongqing chicken. Everything was lovely. The service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Aubrie R.

Yelp
What a fantastic find! Had a late nite biggo bite here with the whole fam - this place was a slam dunk! The service was fantastic- super nice servers, attentive but not overbearing and excellent timing! The food was absolutely fantastic... incredible taste, well plated, the dumplings were perfect! The vibe is awesome, can't wait to return!
google avatar

Elaine Q.

Yelp
Food was great! We ordered pork and shrimp and spicy soup dumplings. All were well seasoned and succulent. About 9 dumplings per tray. Shareable. The chow mein/lo mein was delicious. Silky smooth beef and not greasy. A wonderful meal for my group. I'd come here again.
google avatar

Mayra S.

Yelp
An excellent spot to gather with family and friends! The ambiance is welcoming and perfect for celebrations, with friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The food is both delicious and affordable great value for the quality. A true hidden gem for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal in a relaxed setting.

Yelp
Came by on a week night when I was in town. It was walking distant from my timeshare. The restaurant was packed and I asked if I can just order to go and the lady said yes and had me sit at the bar with my son. She offered me water and I declined but it was nice that she asked. We ordered the following: S&P chicken wings Beef chow mein Stir fry eggplants and green beans Food was really good! It was mire than enough for me, my and mom and we even had it for dinner/lunch two other occasions. The S&P chicken had the right amount of spice. Only complaint was that there were no drumsticks, just wings. Eggplant and green beans were a great choice of veggies. I love their take on this dish. The noodles were just OK. It was really oily/greasy but what can you expect from Chinese. Next time I'm in town, I'd love to sit and have dinner here and order dumplings.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
We had a short wait to get a table but the food was worth it! The wonton in chili oil was very good as was the beef dry pot. The only downside was that our order didn't come out together so if you aren't planning to share you may have some of your party done with their meal before the others get their food.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I really loved this place. We were seated as soon as we came in and our server (I wish I could remember his name) was on top of his game giving us recommendations, checking in on us, etc. The ambiance was okay, there is zero decor hanging on the walls which is kinda sad but nothing to affect our meal or opinion on the restaurant. My husband and I came here for dinner for our last night in Portland and it was the perfect way to finish the trip. We ordered & shared the Pork Xiao Long Boa Soup Dumplings and the Chongqing Chicken and ended up with left overs! It was the best Chongqing chicken either of us have ever had. I only give 4 stars because there is always room for improvement and my glass was dirty.
google avatar

Dojo A.

Yelp
Wow!! This place is legit. I think their XLB is more flavorful than Din Tai Fung. The both is delish and bigger portions. Their scezhuan beef noodle soup is also DA BOMB. Tender beef and love that the noodles are hand pulled! I will definitely be back here and try other dishes.
google avatar

Juliana C.

Yelp
After visiting Powell bookstore we worked up an appetite and wanted something yummy. Dumplings and noodles! We yelped and found Xin Ding Dumpling house in Chinatown. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and a large bar area. It was not busy and we were seated quickly when we arrived. We ordered the following: - Pork Xiao long bao soup dumplings: these were ok. Hubs loved them, I think the wrapper was a bit thick, but it held the soup in well. - Wontons in chili sauce - these were actually my favorite and I can't handle spicy! The chili sauce was flavorful and not mouth burning which was great. I was able to eat them without the sinus waterworks. - Chicken Chow Mein: these noodles hit the spot! The noodles were not doughy, just enough chicken and veggies without being greasy. Overall, our first meal in Portland was yummy! Restrooms could be a bit cleaner. Our server was attentive, the food came out in a timely manner and we were happily ready to head back to the hotel and be in a food coma. Street parking again, download the Kitty parking app and you're good to go. 2024: 27

Yelp
It was getting a little later in the evening, and most places were closing soon, and so we came here for dinner, and my bf loves xiao long bao. It was a spacious place. It was pretty busy and lively; the place and atmosphere was not what we would have expected at a Chinese spot. Staff was friendly, and served was quick. Food was pretty good, but definitely was better with the chili oil. Prices are a bit higher here.
google avatar

Connie D.

Yelp
Food, ambiance, staff, location, everything went well on this 1st time experience. We had siomai, pork buns, xiao long bao and soup! I forgot the name. I like xiao long bao the most. Their siomai looks different from the regular one so im not a fan of that one. Their staff are very attentive, always comes and check and your water will always be filled. Not sure if they have their own parking but we parked in the street - easy. This place is perfect for groups and dates and family like us- we came with kids.
google avatar

Hubert Z.

Yelp
Reasonable price, good portion size, and good tasting. Comfortable atmosphere, and far service. Dan Dan Noodle was very good.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and was decently impressed. I just got the shen jian bao for a quick snack and thought they had decent flavor. You get 6 buns for about $16, which is on the more expensive side. It takes about 20-25 minute for them to come out. Staff was friendly, but you do have to flag them down to order and to pay. Plenty of seating indoors. I walked over when I visited so not sure what parking is like but seems like there's plenty of street parking and lots available nearby!
google avatar

Ajali S.

Yelp
The restaurant is a busy one in the happening Pearl district, it's a large restaurant with plenty of seating. They don't take same day reservations but we had no trouble getting seated , a large group of 6 on a Saturday afternoon for lunch! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The chilli wontons were glorious followed by some great shrimp fried rice, broccoli in garlic sauce , chicken chow mein and my favorite dish , the spicy Chongqing chicken!! All of this for below 100 USD, with tip! I deducted a star because it was a hot July weekend and the air conditioning was almost non-functional in the area we were seated at and the fan was not working either. We had to use some mini portable fans we carried with us else it would have been uncomfortable!

Yelp
If I lived in Portland, Xin Ding would be one of my go-to spots. I'd be a local. I'd drop in for lunch by myself or sit at the bar. I'd bring friends there for their birthdays. I'd go there for my birthday... I just loved this place. We were a party of three and had stumbled upon Xin Ding Dumpling House while walking around Old Town-Chinatown. We were seated right away at one of the tables by the bar. We ended up ordering a lot (our eyes were bigger than our stomachs, plus we didn't know Xin Ding was generous with portions here - we ordered with East Coast prices in mind), and we had a good amount of leftovers. Here's what we ordered for family style: - Green Onion Pancake - Steamed Vegetable Dumplings - Sweet and Sour Chicken (the favorite with my dining companions) - Sesame Chicken - Braised Pork Belly with Preserved Veggies (my pick - very good!) - Stir-fried Cabbage (the sauce was so good) The staff were friendly when they brought us takeaway boxes and the check. Plus, which was an indicator to me that this place is awesome, was that - while we were outside waiting for our Uber, one of the staff poked their head outside and said we could wait inside for our ride since it was late. So nice! Good people! So go to Xin Ding Dumpling House for one of the best meals you'll have when you're in Portland!

Michael B.

Yelp
so I went back and visited this restaurant with my wife and they did not disappoint. Often when we return someplace with a loved one we're hoping that we don't get embarrassed or be made out to be a liar after raving about the food and the service. My wife was equally impressed and enjoyed the meal and the ambience of the restaurant. we plan to visit again real soon and have made this our families first stop for wontons and other Chinese Food assortments.
google avatar

Bernie T.

Yelp
Love the XLB's. My fave is the braised pork belly that my non-Asian friends won't touch, so more for me! lol
google avatar

Jonna G.

Yelp
So glad my cousin and I tried this spot! We both love dumplings, so we had this in our yelp collection to try. Service was a bit slow when we sat down. Our waiter took two tables' order before us even though we arrived there first... Food: - Egg Flower Soup ($2.95): Yummy but did lack some flavor. I added soy sauce which elevated the soup more. - Shrimp and Pork Xiao Long Bao ($16.95): Delicious! Both my cousin and I enjoyed the XLB. Love how it gave us the right portion of soup inside the dumpling. - Shrimp Shumai ($16.95): Not my favorite... I didn't know it had corn in it and it just threw me off. Wouldn't order this again. - Beef Roll ($17.95): These rolls were huge! We weren't expecting them to be big portions. We were able to eat the leftovers on multiple days of our trip. - Wonton in Chili Sauce ($13.95): AMAZING! We loved the chili sauce it came with. Not too spicy and had the right amount of sweetness. We should have ordered two of these. - String Bean with Garlic ($16.95): Another one of my faves! I love the garlic flavor it had and it was a great vegetable dish to eat with our meal. We also had leftovers that we took home. Overall, I would come back here for the shrimp and pork XLB, wonton in chili sauce, string bean with garlic and the beef roll.

Yelp
I came on a Friday night around 8:30. We had to wait around 10 minutes to be seated. The inside is pretty open and spacious. The staff was very friendly and many were running around keeping busy helping guests. The menu is big with lots of yummy options. It was hard to pick. I got the hot and spicy beef chow fun and the chongqinq chicken with a bit less spice. Both were spectacular! Absolutely would order again. I am eager to bring my family to try as well. I appreciate that they are open very late on the weekend. Parking was also easy too.

Yelp
The pork dumplings are very good. Food portion is good for the price you pay. Good service, interesting environment.

Yelp
We checked in around 7:30pm on a Tuesday and waited about 20 mins for a party of 2. It was unusually busy, I think due to the first sunny day this spring and crowds dining after visiting the beloved cherry blossoms. However, the food was definitely worth the wait! Everything we ordered was delicious. -The cucumbers were light and refreshing. -The pork XLB was perfectly cooked with a good amount of soup to slurp. (ask for chili oil along with vinegar, sooo good) -The combo fried rice had lots of chicken, beef and shrimp. You could taste the "char" which stood out to me and reminded me of my mom's home cooking. -The salt and pepper shrimp perfectly crunchy and not too oily. The service was good overall. We had a nice server and the food came out quickly. They were a little short staffed so tables were a bit sticky but you could really tell that they were trying their best to get everyone seated and served as soon as possible.

Yelp
Just came to Portland on a random day trip, and I wanted to try something in Chinatown. I gave Xin Ding Dumpling House a try and it was EXCELLENT! I'm not the most adventurous eater, but Chongoing Style Hot Chicken was delicious, but be warned, it's a Pile of food to big for one person, and they aren't kidding when the put 3 next to it on the menu. It's spicy! The staff was very friendly, and the whole feel of the place put out a good energy. I definitely made a good choice today!
