"From the team behind Park Hill’s much-loved Lucina Eatery and Bar comes this Uptown homage to the foodways of Mexico City, which has only been open for a couple of months but has already received recognition from Bon Appétit for its soulful, sophisticated approach to dishes like broiled oysters with charred jalapeño butter and maiz powder; sopes topped with barbacoa de lengua, salsa verde, and crema; and black ash–braised lamb shank with black beans and radish-herb salad. The bar follows suit with the likes of tomatillo margaritas and Old Fashioneds featuring Mexican corn whiskey." - Ruth Tobias, Eater Staff

Jalapeno ash butter, duck enchilada, beet and tomato confit!? Absolutely amazing experience we had at Xiquita! The staff were so thoughtful and truly seemed to care about the food and every aspect of their restaurant. I would recommend this spot to anyone and everyone as it is simply beautiful. The food was creative and new, while also bringing the comfort you know and love about Mexican cuisine. I will 100% be coming back to try everything on their menu. Bravo!

Absolutely love love love this new restaurant opening in Uptown! It’s a fantastic addition to the movement of upscale, refined Mexican cuisine focusing on traditional ingredients that seems to be spreading in Denver. The space is fun, modern and trendy, the service is friendly and memorable (same as at Lucina — the staff’s first location), and the drinks and food are fantastic. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here. My recommendation is to start with the selection of salsas and some cocktails, try the ceviche (which has a perfect spicy kick), get a couple of small dishes (definitely the lengua and something with a mole), and finish with the pork or lamb main(s). It’s all amazing!

This restaurant really hit the spot in the neighborhood. We decided to go here and the staff were great. A good amount of seating, great menu in both English and Spanish, good atmosphere, and most importantly, amazing and unique food. Get the beet tacos and their Albondigas meatball, both of those entrees were excellent and delicious with flavor. Get their hot chocolate ice cream as well since that was a smooth dessert. Overall, we really loved this place, especially after seeing the entire restaurant packed. Highly recommended for Mexican food!

Elevated Mexican food. Meant to be like something you’d get in Mexico City and it definitely has that sophisticated big city feel. The ceviche was absolutely delicious and the best thing we had. A very unique twist with the coconut milk and the presentation was beautiful. Some of the other dishes were hit and miss. But overall very satisfying experience.

A must visit Denver spot! My husband and I enjoyed every single item we ordered. So much flavor, the masa dishes are incredible and our drinks were remarkable. This is one of those meals you can’t stop thinking about for days after! On a more personal note, I am quite the introvert and I really appreciated Dylan’s welcoming personality. I enjoyed learning about the dishes from him and he entertained all my questions. Thank you Dylan!

I had really high expectations from this restaurant, having visited Mexico City a few times I was excited for a place like entremar/pujol to be in Denver! However I was disappointed with the food - the Tamal Esquites was just ok, Tamale was dry and not that tasty. Steak was chewy but spicy orange sauce that came with it was great. Fish was good but not amazing - an attempt at copying Entremar but sort of dry and not as tasty. The beer tostadas were the only good thing we had. In the end not really worth the high prices, quality of food was mid level and not justifiable. Sigh.

Would give 3.5 but not an option. Had high expectations from all the reviews, but our party of 4 all agreed it was good but nothing exceptional nor worth coming back for. All the dishes were just good but nothing really stood out to us. The ceviche had too much sauce where you couldn’t taste the tuna itself at all. The banana leaf stuffed with cheese might have been our favorite … but anything stuffed with cheese is good obviously. The empanada dish came with fancy looking sauce that was essentially just a glob of sour cream. Tongue was tasty but pretty small. The catch of the day fish had good flavor but a bit on the salty side. And the pork belly was super chewy… outside of it was almost inedible. If you look at rest of my reviews, I’m usually not very critical. This just didn’t seem up to the 4.7 stars overall. The drinks were also hit or miss. Loved the mezcal sour but the mezcal old fashioned was too “unique” and missed the mark in our opinion. Glad we went and tried it… but just not worth coming back here.
