I have been here three times now so time for a review! Each visit was during or around happy hour on the bar side so it was difficult to judge atmosphere for the whole restaurant. But I did find the space a bit loud, or perhaps the clientele were just extra boisterous on those days. The service was what one would expect from a mid to upper level establishment; very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food? I tried only appetizers but wow, was that ginger beef good! The tuna twists and Mongolian beef were pleasant but I was stuck on the ginger so will be back for more. Overall a good experience. For my preferences with respect to noise levels I may have to choose better with time of arrival 😉. But I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

OLIVIA is so amazing! My cousin was visiting from Vancouver and I brought her to XIX for her first time. Olivia made the best recommendations for both cocktails and food. She definitely nailed it! She was so outgoing, friendly, and made our experience very enjoyable! Thank you for an awesome night!

Just such an overall welcoming atmosphere. Perfect lighting. First time for us there and will definitely be back. I’ve had short rib in a lot of different places all across the country and this one is top shelf. Just so grateful to find this little gem of a restaurant.

We visited XIX for a date night and were immediately impressed by the elegant ambiance and vibrant atmosphere in the bar area. For starters, we ordered the cauliflower poppers and prawns. The prawns were excellent, while the cauliflower poppers were just average. For mains, we chose the mussels in gorgonzola and the tuna bowl. Unfortunately, both dishes fell short of expectations—the flavors were underwhelming and didn’t leave a lasting impression. We also tried a dessert, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal—flavorful and well-presented. Despite spending $150 for two people, we left feeling unsatisfied due to the small portion sizes. Overall, it's worth trying once for the ambiance and service, but we wouldn’t strongly recommend it based on value and portion size.

The atmosphere was very relaxing our server was great and being able to watch the chefs prepare the food was a nice touch. We had 4 apps which were all amazing, the gyoza were my favorite. And the main course was to die for

Google
Mark provided great service and kindly answered all the questions that I had about the menu. The dishes were impressive. While waiting for the pizookie, I just thought folding a crane out of the napkin would be a nice addition for a photo with the dessert :) Thank you for a great evening! I’ll be coming again soon!

My favorite spot in Edmonton so far! The food was amazing, the prices were fair, and the service was the best I got in the city and to date. Will be back 100%

I absolutely love Sunday brunch! Dinner was enjoyable, but it was quite a busy night, and we had to wait about 40 minutes for our meals. My steak was a little overcooked. I don’t think I would order again but I would still like to go back to have Salmon! The chef noticed our long wait and graciously treated us to a delicious hazelnut chocolate cake. Thank you!

Yelp
Love their happy hour. Good selection of drinks and snacks. Environment is great for visiting as it's never loud during HH

Yelp
First time going to XIX. Going to give an honest review but why anyone would really care what I think is beyond me. The ambiance is nice some may think it is a little dark but we liked it. Service was excellent. Staff could not be better. Menu was limited. Just need more choices. Food was ok just ok. Nothing to recommend. Drinks were fine but pricey. $11 for a rye and coke. They do have a good wine list. XIX is over priced.

Yelp
It has been on my list for a while and I'm glad at last, I went there. Our friend wanted to go for the happy hour which is available at their lounge so that's what we did. The place is nicely designed and decorated. The lighting is pretty good and the staff were friendly and nice. The food was very good and delicious. We ordered a bunch of different things based on friends' suggestions and they were all very good. It was a good first experience and now I would like to go back there to experience the rest of their menu and other side of the restaurant.

Yelp
Nice location. Easy reservation process good communication. I didn't know about the patio, or I would have reserved it. 6 ppl at our lunch. We were treated well. Of our 6 dishes, we would not recommend the ginger beef or the tuna bowl. My burger was delicious, although a bit well done. My mom's Atlantic salmon BLT was gorgeous! She was so pleased with it. Dad's seafood flatbread was a real winner! The sushi was good, but nobody wanted all those jalapeños. The cocktails are beautiful. It takes a while to get them, but overall, great service. I can't wait to return and waste a whole afternoon day-drinking on the patio.

Yelp
One of the top restaurants in Edmonton for many years, XIX Nineteen has become a destination for culinary old favourites and new discoveries. With Chef Andrew Fung at the helm (and now with a second location in St Albert) Edmontonians flock to the south suburban neighbourhood of Mactaggart for the restaurant's stylish setting and "new Canadian" fare. Named Best Restaurant South of the Whitemud in CBC Edmonton's Best Restaurants 2019, Best Fine Dining 2020 in the Edmonton Journal, and Favourite Date Night on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2022 list, Nineteen has made a name for themselves as one of the top fancy places in town. I hadn't visited in many years and was looking forward to a refresher on a Sunday evening. The drive south from my central location is a bit of a hike but always worthwhile in the name of good food. On this occasion my husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and I'd heard that Nineteen excels at making these types of evenings special. You'll locate the restaurant in one of those modern strip mall complexes that are commonplace in all of the newer communities. Sleek on the outside, you'll find plenty of parking adding to the ease of the experience. Entering the space you will be greeted by a dim and modern dining room juxtaposed by a familiar vibe. White table cloths, leather-wrapped bench seating, and an eye-catching dividing feature wall. Large pieces of art decorate the room and deep, rich tones set the atmosphere. I also noticed that the contemporary pop music playing was quite good. The friendly and professional hostess ushered us to our table and in a short time we were met by our server. One of his first questions was to ask whether we were celebrating something. He was seasoned at his job, however as the night progressed and the restaurant became fully occupied with guests we did notice that the service slowed down substantially. Toward the end of our meal there were long stretches where no one checked on us at all and uncleared plates remained. As it was a celebratory night, we decided to act accordingly and ordered two glasses of Mionetto Prosecco Brut ($13.00 for 6oz). This bubbly from Veneto, Italy was crisp and easy to drink. It made our evening feel special and allowed for cute toasting, which was the whole entire point. I had a thought that after my glass of prosecco I might order a craft cocktail but it just never got to that point. If I had done so, I was really interested to try the Dress to Empress which sounded like exactly my type of cocktail. The menu explains that Nineteen is proud to serve still and sparkling Q Water. This four-times filtered water supposedly results in the clearest tasting water available. We each started with one glass of water each (which we assumed was Q Water?) however they were never refilled and I think that if we wanted unlimited water throughout the meal it would cost $2. This was a bit unclear because no one ever asked us if we did in fact want more water. This felt like a way to be pretentious without the proper execution. If there's one dish that everyone talks about (and photographs) at Nineteen, it has to be the Ahi Tuna Twist (Spicy Thai noodles, Asian slaw, cilantro aioli - $27.00) from the starters section. If the restaurant had a signature dish this is probably it. I had to try it for myself! On the menu since the beginning, I can see why this dish is so popular! Not only is the plating a ton of fun and interesting to look at but it was also my favourite dish of the night! Twists of noodles wind around each fork with a perfectly seared piece of ruby-coloured tuna placed on top. This type of plate is exciting to me and I couldn't wait to pop one of these bites into my mouth! We experimented with two different ways of eating these; put the whole fork into your mouth in one bite and a more "deconstructed" method. I would have to say that the first option is best even though it's a pretty big mouthful. I enjoyed the spice from the noodles, tender meaty tuna, creamy aioli, and crunch from the slaw. Different textures and colours join together to create something truly special. A must-order each and every time! I was also tempted to order the Bánh Mì Fung Buns with crispy pork belly but didn't get around to it this time. Instead, we opted for the Burrata Salad (Gull Valley tomatoes, smoked tomato vinaigrette, fresh basil - $24.00) to bring some freshness into our feast. This salad was excellent! I especially loved the use of abundant, bright and juicy tomatoes. The acidity in the dish paired well with the luxurious and creamy stracciatella and clotted cream from within the burrata. This plate was incredibly fresh and I could tell that it was made with high-quality ingredients. The menu at Nineteen contains a lot of buzzwords. It's as if the chef brainstormed all of the classic (but also trendy) dishes that the average person might consider "upscale" and they're all here on the menu. I did really appreciate the

Yelp
Had a very enjoyable time and great service at X1X.. a note in regard to lunch menu. GRILLED CHICKEN CLUB Grilled focaccia bread, sundried tomato aïoli, goat cheese, marinated bell peppers, cucumbers, arugula, hand-cut Kennebec fries. ****this item is not handheld as indicated on menu. it is an open face grilled chicken on a small piece of focacciabread.. *****

Yelp
Ashley is awesome! Well, actually all the team at XIX, ownership included, just rocks. And, the venue is beautiful and hip, the food is creative, well served/delivered and completely delicious. We enjoyed a Third 30th Birthday party for a dear family member and XIX was the only place in town that I wanted to host it at--having been at the restaurant twice or three times before--just loved the setting. We booked the entirety of the lounge area so we could perform more of a private function--and it could not have come out better. All who attended raved about their experience, the most important of which was the birthday girl herself who had nothing but great appreciation to XIX and their team. Thanks Team XIX for making a special day the very best it could be! We'll visit you again soon.

Yelp
We don't get out often for a nice meal but we have been waiting for this one. The location is beautiful inside. Very dark and great ambiance. We loved the fact that we could see into the kitchen. We ordered a melon mojito and a glass of wine with our tuna twist. The food came out in a timely matter but we had yet to even get our drinks and had to wave someone down for drinks. The tuna twist were unbelievable. I will dream of these. Then for dinner we did wine, tenderloin with goat cheese, and the steak special with truffle mashed. The tenderloin may have been the softest steak I've ever had. It was incredible. The steak special was good and flavourful just quite chewy but still good flavour. We cleared both plates. The only thing I truly have to complain about giving them a 4/5 is the service. He seemed super annoyed with us the entire visit. He was very short with us and even when we left a $40 tip he just dropped the machine off and walked away from the table. I believe for a $200 dinner the server could be a little friendlier.

Yelp
XIX is one of our favourite restaurants. Whether we want to have a nice dinner, casual, or to have some drinks in their lounge, their service & food is always delicious. We're already planning to come back next week for a birthday celebration:) . PS. Their Ahi Tuna Twist is EVERYTHING

Yelp
Very interesting place. I went during brunch (place known for dinners) and ordered prawn lobster omelette, one of the best I had. AndrewFung the chef here really put a nice twist of Asian fusion and Canadian food together into a nice combo. Host and waitresses are extremely nice and super attractive. The atmosphere and settings are towards high end .

Yelp
I've been to XIX for dinner a few times and enjoyed it every time. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and great service. In terms of food, I've tried the Korean Fried Cauliflower (KFC), Salmon Sashimi (they had it at one point), and their Lamb Chops. For the food, the lamb was very tasty and worth trying and the KFC was what stood out the most. The biggest highlight however was the service and I'd rate them 8.8/10.

Ramandeep T.

Yelp
The service and how fast the food came out hot was great! We had the mussels which were so good! The mushroom tartine could have used some kind of a sauce and the wagyu gyozas were the best we've had! We were a little disappointed when it came to the mains. I had the seasonal steak which was good bur I would still pick the Keg over this one. My partner had the cod with ramen noodles, very minimal seasoning. The potatoes with the cod were still raw and crunchy. Ambiance is great, we've been here a few times because of the vibe and the food is above average, definitely one of the better restaurants in Edmonton but do not expect for exceptional meals.

Yelp
XIX Nineteen has been around for a long time and I finally tried it this weekend for my birthday. Food was plated beautifully and the taste matched its looks. Service was excellent but it's quite pricey. Ahi Tuna Twist $24- Had to try their most known appetizer. It's worth the hype and was oozing with flavour. The server told us to eat each one with one bite and it was absolutely delicious Duck Duck Ganoush $42- The duck was tender and paired great with the baba ganoush, falafels, spring peas, carrots and roasted beet purée. A light meaty dish. Chimichurri Picanha Steak $49- A 42 day aged top sirloin with ricotta cheese on sourdough and truffled Parmesan fries. The steak was seasoned well but it was a bit too chewy. Price didn't match the taste for this one and I've had better steaks at other places. XIX Signature Warm Butter Cake $12- I really enjoyed this dessert. Warm butter cake with cold vanilla ice cream and fresh berries is a perfect combination It's a good fine dining option on the south side (or their other restaurant in St. Albert) to try at least once. Not a place I'll come back to often though.

Yelp
XIX is a long tiMe favourite for celebrations, special occasions, or just those days when you need something decadent for no reason at all. The cocktails, service, and food is always great and keeps us coming back! Don't miss out on the Ahi Tuna Twists - I get them every time I go!

Food is great and love their happy hour menu. It's big and they can accommodate large parties.

Yelp
A spectacular Harvest Salad brought us in but trying the harvest salad a second time I was sorely disappointed. Thought I would switch up and try the salmon with the pressed pork belly over perogies. Unfortunately this dish could shine as well. The salmon was over cooked and overly crispy over 2 over cooked perogies and the 2 slices of pork belly were soggy. Luckily the goat cheese crusted tenderloin was quite good. I cant believe the salmon at moxies was head and shoulders tastier.

Yelp
I came here for lunch with my boss. It's a nice upscale type restaurant where if you dressed up you would not feel out of place, actually I recommend dressing a little nicer to come here. They have different menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner. We decided to share some dishes and boy were we full! The pear spritzer was very delicious and a good size for a cocktail. The tuna appetizer was absolutely delicious and I HIGHLY recommend this dish. It has delicious flavours and is quite filling. The lettuce wraps were also very good and the cauliflower is a tad spicy but nothing out of control. It was crispy and the sauce was tasty. Overall, it was a delicious good lunch. The restaurant was not full and it was a Friday at lunch. All Covid procedures are followed and it was overall a good experience. The service was good as well and everything came out on a timely manner. Nothing was over the top amazing but it definitely did not disappoint.

Caitlyn D.

Yelp
A little bit pricey but so delicious 10/10 I would definitely eat here again. Service is absolutely amazing as well. You feel like royalty eating here.

Yelp
We decided to treat ourselves for a nice dinner out and we made our way to the south side to try XIX. It was very full for a midweek and we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they had a few spots at the lounge. I was surprised by the awesome mural on the wall, this place wasn't as surburban as I thought. However the prices were. This place is expensive. And so when I pay these prices for food I expect an interesting and dynamic experience with delicious food. The food was good but both my husband and i agreed that it was overpriced. That is why it lost one star. Also service was slow. And it really wasn't the servers fault, I just think that they didn't have enough staff. However, when she came around she was cheerful and friendly. We decided to split three dishes - the lobster ravioli, tuna twists, and mussels. Thier menu is great with a lot of diverse menu options. Food was slow coming out but it was deliciouswhen it did. The mussels were plump and the gorgonzola broth was delicious. I also liked that they didn't skimp on the bread which many restaurants do. However, most restaurants charge around 22 bucks for the same portion of mussels while XIX charged 32. Definately the most overpriced menu item that we ordered. Especically since there isn't a lot of technique t make this. The tuna twists were tasty and presented beautifully. The tuna was seared properly and i would say for 24 bucks it was worth it. Lastly we had the lobster ravioli. It was amazing but for the amount at 42 dollars it should be. Although I would say it was mostly lobster and not other fillings. The sauce was excellent. I thought it was good but for the price point there are better places to go to. However, it has a following. So if you have cash to burn, try this place.

Yelp
Extremely long waiting time on Wednesday evening when the restaurant is 70% empty. Food is tasteless the most quality beef for extremely high price. Even pizza was terrible that's my daughter couldn't even eat it at all. Customer service is terrible. I asked front desk in the portions are big and they said yes it's very good and very big. But it was very small portion and again very expensive for that portion. The weather Scott was careless didn't even take notes what we have ordered I forgot to bring half of the order. Do NOT recommend this restaurant at all. THE WORST PLACE EVER.

Yelp
Nineteen sum up their dining experience in just three words: Simply Great food. Well, i strongly agree with them after having a scrumptious Sunday brunch in the lovely ambience of Nineteen in edmonton. Order: Avocado Toast: I really enjoyed this avocado toast with smoked salmon and cheese spread. It is a must try if you are a salmon lover. California San Mateo: looking for a more healthy brunch option? Go for this one with organic greens and pair it with chicken or tuna. Chicken Confit Poutine: Canada's favourite dish - Poutine has always been ready to surprise your tastebuds with delicious variations. Peppercorn gravy mixed with cheese curd, Pulled chicken and hand cut kennebec fries paired with two sunny side up eggs was a big treat to your hungry stomach. Huevos Rancheros: Corn tortillas topped up with pico de gallo, mashed refined beans, Avocado and two fried eggs. You can also add the sausage with your order by paying extra bucks. Every bite of this crispy dish was smoothly melting in the mouth. Omelette Du jour: It is completely a chef's creation. I had omelette stuffed with cheese and Prawns which i completely liked and accompanied with baby potatoes and fresh strawberries. Rating: Ambience: 4.5/5 (Lounge with Modern European ambience) Taste: 5/5 (Totally impressed) Presentation: 4/5 Value for money: 4.5/5 (Worth of every penny) Service: 4.5/5 (Staff is really courteous and accommodating) Overall: It is really hard to choose the best one out of the whole order. I would definitely recommend to try Chicken Confit poutine, Avocado Toast and Huevos Rancheros.

Yelp
Service is amazing and food is immensely impeccable! Best restaurant by far to eat in the city.

Yelp
Had to change my reservations a few times and they were so accommodating! The customer service was great besides the weird look I got when I ordered a pineapple margarita? My server Mark was great at first, and then was more attentive to other tables than ours. I wish I could have grabbed the name of the girl who was really helpful after that! She was so friendly and super personable. The food was definitely a 5/5! We ordered the Gull Valley Tomato Bruschetta and the only complaint I have is I would have loved more balsamic glaze. For dinner we had the Balsamic Chicken and the Hoisin Glazed Beef Short Ribs, both were amazing! The chicken was moist and the crispy Brussel sprouts were a great addition to the dish. The short rib was extremely tender, and full of flavour. The food also came out very quickly after our starter, which was great. Overall 4/5, really only took away was my experience with Mark. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
I chose this years birthday restaurant based on a recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed! Hubby had made reservations online, and even tho we were a bit early we were seated immediately in a quiet cozy corner. We were happy to see some great beverage choices available on the drink menu. I picked a Delirium Tremens, hubby got a Strongbow. Our adorable waitress quickly brought over water, bread, and more bread! We were hungry. I ordered the wild mushroom cream soup to start and the Atlantic lobster ravioli (less spicy) for my main. Hubby chose the Alberta beef tenderloin (sans mushrooms). My soup arrived piping hot, in an enormous bowl! It smelled heavenly and tasted divine. Earthy mushrooms, rich cream, and fragrant truffle oil gave this dish a seriously amazing level of umami. The lobster ravioli was incredible, lightly spiced (upon request) with a tomato cream sauce and topped with spicy sambuca prawns. I make a LOT of pasta at home, so I'm always happy when it's done right. Hubby absolutely loved his meal, and when he was finished the only thing left on his plate was a lone baby beet. He barely managed to stop short of licking his plate. We finished our meal with a lovely creme brûlée topped with a festive sparkler. In the pic you can see a white chocolate bar with "Happy Birthday" written one it. I wrapped that up and I'm eating it right now writing this review. Yum. The ambiance is quiet, sophisticated elegance. The service was perfect, the food was spot on. I can't wait to bring our out-of-town guests here for dinner!!! Ps. It was great meeting Andrew too!
google avatar

Tracey S.

Yelp
This place has a great vibe. It's upscale for sure and the service and food match that! First off the service was great. attentive enough but not annoying. We had the bacon wrapped scallops and they were so good. High recommended. For mains hubby had the tenderloin and I had the short ribs. Tenderloin was the most tender cut he's ever had. I must admit it was quite tender. It has a lot of mushrooms though so if ur not a mushroom person then think twice about this dish. Came with carrots and some deep fried potatoes (mashed) and it was good. The short ribs were also tasty and very tender. The sauce was a bit different. Has a slight sweetness almost like a jam. It really tasted good with the meat which surprised me cuz I generally dont like sweet with my meat. Came with carrots and onions rings. Wud have liked a potato though instead of the onion rings. Recommend both dishes. It is a bit pricey however, so be warned

Yelp
One of the best restaurants! High ended restaurant but cost is affordable! Love their fusion dishes !

Yelp
Great dining choice in Terwillegar. The service is friendly without being obtrusive. Knowledgeable staff and consistently good food. Price point would be middle to high, but a fantastic lively ambiance adds to the experience. I haven't had a bad meal there.

Yelp
Lovely service, great food. A bit noisy but such it is these days. Use the patio in the summer

Yelp
This place is phenomenal!!! A long time favourite of mine. Their menu is absolutely fantastic and I love that their staple dishes are available during lunch AND dinner! If it's your first time you must order the ahi tuna twist, mussels, and the short ribs!! Must also add that they make the most amazing espresso martinis. I'm always happy with the service provided and this place is so great for date night and groups. Nineteen is definitely the best restaurant in the south side!!!!

Yelp
Been once for our 25th anniversary dinner. By far the best meal I've ever had. Ordered GTFO and was delighted with every course. Staff was amazing and very friendly.

Yelp
Came in last night for the first time to the lounge before heading over to the VIP theatres and so glad we did! Kelly, our server, was fantastic! I don't think we ever had to ask for water or sparkling Q water refills! Two thumbs way up! And props to any restaurant or bar serving Q water :-) We lucked out that it was happy hour so I gave the vodka thyme lemonade a try for $5. It was great but a little sweet for me so I ordered sparkling water to cut it. The hubs enjoyed a $5 on tap draft and we ordered some happy hour appy's: Crispy Buffalo Chicken Wings - Meh, not that good and they weren't the slightest bit crispy. I asked our server and she concurred and said she wasn't quite sure why they are called crispy. Ginger Beef - Yum! We'd definitely order this anytime! Calamari with peppercinis and spicy marinara - delish! Calamari was cooked to perfection and not overdone at all! The marinara was so good the hubs stole it for his sliders so I had to order more :-). And this dish was much larger than I had expected! And last were the sliders - description sounded great but failed to really pop. Hubby added onions and marinara from my calamari dish to give it that something extra. The lounge itself was nice with four days detect seating style/height options and large flatscreen tvs easily viewable. I would definitely recommend coming here before the VIP theaters (2 minutes cross the Henday) anytime!

Yelp
Definitely one of the best restaurants on the south end. High quality food, consistently great service and great atmosphere. From brunch to a night out, you can do any occasion here! You can order anything on the menu and it will be outstanding.

Yelp
So I finally decided to go to this restaurant to celebrate my anniversary. I had mixed feelings due to hearing a lot of bad things about the ownership from the past and whatnot but eventually I was told it was a great place to eat and something I should really have for my anniversary. To begin the staff was very very nice and our server was by far the best, you could really tell he liked the restaurant and the food because as soon as we mention what we wanted he was more excited than us about it, he gave us the right options for everything as well. We first tried to ahí tuna appetizers and let me tell you they were the best thing I've had in a very long time, the fork already wrapped noodles with the very nice tuna and sauce was just way to good, I could eat that many times over, then I had the alberta short ribs and that thing was the most tender short rib I've ever had. I didn't even need a knife to cut it and the sauce just gave I that better taste, the girlfriend had the beef tenderloin and it was cooked for perfection, I usually don't get steaks at restaurants because they never cook it right but this steak was cooked perfectly and tenderly. I highly suggest this restaurant for a night out or a celebration.

Yelp
Came here on a very hot summer day, great patio for the summer with good drinks menu. I enjoyed the berry drink and mojito. But I was shocked at how terrible the wings were, that we ended up sending them back. The flatbreads were okay, they seem to have cut the portions down a lot . The fries were cold inside. I was actually very disappointed with the food this time, the chefs seem to have put in no effort. I don't think I will be going back and would not recommend this over priced restaurant for what you get. As for the patio, I am sure there are plenty of other patios that would have good drinks AND good food.
google avatar

Randi J.

Yelp
While the food and ambiance at this restaurant is amazing, don't come thirsty because you won't be offered more water or another drink. Saying that. I was quite disappointed with the service. Our waiter was cold and not personable at all but the food made up for that let down. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Twists, the Tenderloin and the Halibut. All three were cooked to perfection. Will definitely come again but only if seated in a different section. Tip: Bring a sweater; it's chilly in the dining room.

Yelp
Come here enough for many years and have dropped enough coin to be able to say that I came in and wanted table at lounge and was told that they don't take reservations but when I walked in 3 tables were reserved. When I asked if they changed their policy I was told that it was owners or investors who had reserved the table. Totally not ok. It's a business. Prioritize PAYING patrons versus people coming to eat for free with their families pulling rank. If you don't allow reservation that should go for everyone. I think in the past 3 -4 years I have spent more money there then your "investors" Disappointing.

Yelp
I've love the tuna twists since Blackhawk. The chef and his crew never disappoint with their Cantonese spin on modern cuisine.

Yelp
Definitely a must try place! The mini sliders were great, the beef tataki was amaze-balls, and our entrees- wagyu beef ricotta gnocchi and the pork belly with scallops were delectable. The winter sangria was good, but the pear-ito spritz was great. I changed to that for our 2nd round after I tried my partners. Service was perfect. Everyone was 5 stars. We're already planning our next trip back up from Calgary and what else we will get off the menu next time.

Yelp
Went out with 2 friends for dinner Saturday night exceeded expectations, decent social distancing would like to see better masks on staff however. The meal was outstanding everyone's entrée was delicious the Korean fried cauliflower was to die for. The special ribeye with morel mushrooms melted in your mouth. The tenderloin Oscar was exceptional yet again highly recommend this local restaurant. Wine list is a bit pricey more than double the cost of in-store wine. Highballs and draft are also priced quite high when compared to other restaurants

Yelp
First time ever. My brother invited me as he and his wife come here often. Simple words to describe my evening is WowWowWow! Delicious doesn't even explain the flavors I experienced. My new best place for a great evening and great food.

Yelp
I'm always curious when an upscale restaurant chooses their location to be in a strip mall. XIX should be in a swanky part of downtown Edmonton with quaint stores and other fine eating establishments instead of sharing a building with Shoppers Drug Mart? Due to the rave reviews I had heard, I sighed, and let this go. We had reservations so what the heck? We came into the restaurant and the ambiance does not feel like a strip mall but transforms into a tastefully decorated interior. My mood changes. This looks pretty nice. We are seated in between the host stand and the entrance to the kitchen. My mood changes back to strip mall annoyance. We had reservations and the restaurant had exactly 2 tables sat. Could they not have put us in a better space? When I asked they said they had reserved this table for us. Okay, as I longingly look towards the cozy back corner closer to all the nice windows and away from the foot traffic and front entrance. I ordered the Braised Short Ribs with onion rings topped with Bernaise sauce. This was EXCELLENT. I could not have been happier with my choice. The braised short ribs were tender, juicy, and immensely flavorful. The onion ring was light, crispy, and paired amazingly well with the bernaise sauce. This truly was an excellent dish. Mood changes back to delight. The food is pricy so my other dinner companions chose more on the cheap side. Too bad for them, none of them were particularly impressed with what they got, though my sister who ordered the chicken pasta had made an equally good choice as I did. Due to the strip mall location, parking is ample. The restaurant did not fill the entire time we were there mid-week dinner and they have a nice bar area with friendly people. Or maybe I just happened to have caught the eye of a guy there who was hitting on me even though I had only asked the bar tender for some change and am a happily married man with 3 kids. If you live in this area of Edmonton, there's a nice upscale restaurant for your special occasion if you are planning to stay in your immediate area. Not a place you could come for a casual dinner unless you roll with a lot of dough.

Yelp
I would rate this restaurant satisfactory, for the reasons being. Firstly, as a classy restaurant I do expect to see an hors d'oeuvre (small free starter served before an appetizer, ex: focaccia with balsamic/ olive oil/ chilli flake vinaigrette). Also, our server took 18 minutes to get to our table, and proceeded to ask what kind of drinks we would like, without bringing water initially. I do not expect fast food/ alcoholic beverages, though I do expect a certain serving finesse in fine dining restaurants. For appetizers, my husband and I were served the sushi and wagyu gyoza. The gyoza were absolutely amazing and I highly recommend sharing a plate. The sushi was also a delight, though could have used a touch more seasoning in the spicy tuna as well as a greater toppings to rice ratio. The pickled onions on the side to the sushi were flavourless and I wouldn't even put those on the side of the plate, it really just decreases the level of finesse. For our mains, we tried the lobster ravioli as well as the osso bucco. The ravioli was way too thick, the spicy Sambuca just did not work well with the tomato sauce, and I expected to see a hell of a lot more lobster within the ravioli itself. Although I do have to say the spicy rose is absolutely beautiful. The osso bucco had amazing flavours, though the dish is quite messy and I'm not sure if all the flavours completely worked together, or more on their own. The fat was also very visible on the lamb and was clearly not rendered down, though very tender. The tomato sauce on the lamb was also amazing, but it really needed a lift to the dish; maybe some lemon zest or a mint chutney instead of one of the elements would have worked better. I also expect a seasonal menu to hold within a fine dining restaurant - this would show true creativity as well as an environmentally sustainable food concern within their kitchen. All in all, I would say the restaurant environment is very inviting and warm, though both the service and food could use some work.

Yelp
Delicious, unique food and wonderful service! My friend and I both enjoyed our meals and I'll be coming back to enjoy some of the other selections. We shared the Sichuan Ribs as an appetizer; I had the Mongolian Beef Bowl and she had the Prosciutto and Brie Flatbread. All three were outstanding. Highly recommended and I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
From the menu to the atmosphere this place is a solid 10! Service is always great. Always recommend my out of town friends to go here!

Yelp
I have been here twice in the last 2 months just for dinner. Great spot in the south side for dinner. You can also order the Lounge food items in the main dining room. Of course, you have to order their famous Tuna twists! My friend and I also enjoyed their new miso crusted ahi Tuna main. The fried Calamari was also delish along with the melt in your mouth bone marrow!
