My husband and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at this cozy little cafe. It felt like we were in our mom's house. The staff is wonderful and cheerful, thank you for making our first visit memorable!

Stopped in here for breakfast. What a great choice, reasonal pricing. Coffee was great, they add cinnamon to it while it brews. Super friendly service. I will go back and I definitely recommend this place over more expensive places.

I have been here twice now and I will be back many more times. All of the food has been absolutely delicious, the service is super fast, and the atmosphere is very comfy and welcoming. I've sat inside and outside, and enjoyed both spots, but you can't beat an outside seat when the weather is great. I also appreciate that if you order juice you get a whole real glass of juice and not one of those itty bitty half glasses. The coffee is also very good, it's not like the burnt cheap dinner style coffee, it's good robust coffee that actually has flavor. I've tried 3 different breakfast entrees now and all were great, but I love the pork, it's cooked to perfection.

Google
Yahaira's Cafe in Pasadena is a fantastic restaurant for lunch, brunch, dinner dine in or takeout. Whatever you’re looking for is great. It’s family owned and operated and both the food and staff are great. The ambiance is cosy and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. They’ve got an outdoor patio with live music on the weekends that will accommodate anyone requiring wheelchair access. The outdoor area is spacious and offers a relaxed atmosphere that’s good for happy families, children and well behaved animals. I should add they’ve got great coffee. I absolutely love this place!

Google
Stopped in while I was doing business in Pasadena, happy I did, because this was one of the best tortas I've ever had. The fries were great too, not too greasy or overly seasoned. Well worth the drive from Palmdale!🙏

Google
The place is a little cramped, but that's because it's some of the best Hispanic food I've ever eaten and it's always busy because the locals know that. Highly recommend the shrimp burrito! 🌯🤤

Google
Nice location. The food was not amazing, but solid. The flavor did not quite hit. Great outdoor seating (dog friendly!). Service was solid!

Google
Hands down the best Mexican breakfast / lunch in town. If I could rate it 10 stars, I would.

Yelp
food: - lomitos scramble: 10/10 so good!! would def get again! the pork was indeed tender which was so good w the tomato. the potatoes were alright - traditional breakfast: 8/10 it was good, portions were big. very basic per my sisters remarks - yucatán scramble: 9/10 sub ham for chicken as my mom doesn't eat red meat. very delicious/flavorful with the added cheese and avocado. service: 10/10 waiter checked up on us and provided water without us asking for it! even brought us chips and dip ($13 ) ambiance: for a saturday late morning (10:30a) it's very chill, warm and cozy. i like the music which wasn't loud or too quiet. not too many people which was nice. we sat outside which was really nice with the weather.

Yelp
I come here for brunch often and always forget to take pics! I was literally there this morning and got so caught up in my meal and conversation, I forgot again! I'll have to come back and add them. Yahaira's Cafe is a nice little Pasadena gem. Honestly, everything here is tasty and fresh. My favorite breakfast items are their breakfast burrito and French toast. My cup of coffee is always piping hot and bottomless! It's a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is great. I'm always greeted warmly with a welcoming smile and seated quickly. The staff are happy to answer questions about the menu and make recommendations. I love coming here and recommend it to all my friends.

Yelp
Great vibes here. Relaxing and friendly. I came with two friends today and enjoyed their Steak Tostada salad. Was hoping to find chilequilles or machaca scramble on the menu but nope. Fresh food with a delicious crispy shell that felt less guilty than most! Great quality steak. Strong and tasty bloodymary! I'd come here again for sure.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This place really surprised me. The dishes came out on these white plastic plates that made the food look boring and bland. But it was the complete opposite. My bf ordered the cubano sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. It was bursting with flavor and every bite just made me want another. I literally thought to myself I have to step up my sandwich game. Highly recommend!! I myself ordered the arepa (forgot the name but it was an avocado/green one). It was also delicious! Had the perfect flavor but the chicken filling was cold. I thought it would've tasted better if it was warm to match the warm cornbread outside. I tried the beef empanada too (Venezuelan style) - delicious. Full of flavor. Service was great! All the workers are extremely nice. The guy helping us in the front provided ample recommendations and took the time to explain to me what the food was since it was my first time. Ambiance is cool, it's in downtown Pasadena so it has an indoor/outdoor situation. We sat outside and it reminded me of a city vibe. Overall, this place is fantastic and don't be fooled by the plating!

Yelp
Great breakfast and lunch spot if you're craving Mexican! The food is solid and delicious! I got the E l Vampiro bc I was craving something healthy and this drink is a good mix of sweetness and vegetables. I got the Mexican Omelette with tortillas and it was very filling! There's seating inside and outside, inside a cute alley way. The staff are very friendly.

Yelp
Needed a quick, delicious breakfast and happened upon Yahaira's Cafe. Everyone who works there was SOOOO NICE!!! Super cute, cozy dining room with counter and a shaded outdoor patio. And the food was terrific!!! Yummy omelette with fresh veggies, crisp bacon and loads of cheese! Their coffee is amazing!! Just a hint of cinnamon that made me ask for a to go cup!!!

Yelp
Great food and great customer service! Felt very welcomed. Must try their huevos Yucatán !

Yelp
Food and service is outstanding. Already planning a return trip. Nice small cafe. So seating on the inside with additional seating outside.

Yelp
Loved the kitchen that you can see into. The food was tasty and fresh, good flavors throughout . Very generous portion. Ordered the Lomito Scramble and it didn't disappoint.. saw that they make a Vampiro fresh juice (celery, beets, orange juice and carrot) and couldn't resist and it tasted delicious. I was the only one in the restaurant and it seemed like they just opened when I arrived so service was exceptional. Ambiance, place was nicely decorated with bright artwork throughout with lively paint color scheme. Definitely would go again. I stumbled on the place while I was looking for a bakery on Colorado and once I saw this place I thought why not something different and I was glad I did.

Yelp
I have walked past Yahaira's Cafe on many occasions when I was in the Pasadena area, but never once did I walk inside. I was informed it served Mediterranean foods, but it turns out, they serve Mexican and/or Yucatan foods. I finally took one big leap forward and decided to check them out for the very first time last weekend. I am so glad I did! This cafe is so beautiful and colorful inside... the decor is lovely and quaint! Lots of bright colors on the walls. I found out this cafe is named after the lady owner's daughter, Yahaira. How sweet and loving is that! There is a black and white painting of gorgeous Yahaira on the wall. There are two door entries; one door on the Colorado Blvd side and the other door is slightly adjacent to it. They have outside patio seating and indoor seating. I was greeted right away by the lady owner upon my entry. Muchas gracias senora! After looking at the two menus (each had different items on them), I knew exactly what I wanted to try. Let me tell you, when I go big, I go big especially when it comes to food LOL. I ordered the Shrimp Tostada... OMG, huge and amazingly delicioso... 6 big tasty shrimps (8 would have been better because I love shrimp LOL), 1 shrimp taco (this one was the #1 best tasting... love the 4 shrimps!), 1 fish taco (this one was #2 best tasting... tons of blackened fish by the way), 1 chicken taco (this was my least preferred... chicken was a tad dry IMHO), 1 order of fries (nice, thin, and crispy... yummy!), and 1 vampiro drink (good and very healthy). One thing I loved about the tacos was the tomatos and onions were not diced, they were in strips (first time ever seeing this form on a taco)... this gave it more depth in taste. Everything was served hot on vibrant and colorful plates... they were just delish... the foods not the plates LOL! My server was really nice and pleasant. The overall service was impeccable from the time I entered the cafe until the time I left. Thank you everyone! Yahaira's Cafe staff, keep doing what you do best at your craft! Thank you for sharing your passion in cooking up some amazing Mexican foods. I appreciate your warm and welcoming hospitality. I'll be back for more of your excellent foods and service!!!

Yelp
This is a jewel tucked inconspicuously off of Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. We stopped by for brunch the other day and OH MY GOODNESS! Why don't we come here for brunch everyday? We ordered the Pancake Combo and the Breakfast Burrito. The combo included two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs any style, and we chose to have the turkey sausage. The pancakes were very fluffy and full of great buttermilky flavor! The accompanying eggs and turkey sausage were delightful. The breakfast burrito was a yummy tortilla wrapped package of scrambled eggs, chorizo, hash browns, cheese, tomato, and guacamole. The meld of flavors in this bundle of goodness was delectable. We really enjoyed our impromptu brunch at Yahaira's and will definitely return for more brunch options in the future.

Yelp
It's fine. Built up an appetite and came after a walk, friend was starving and had to have pancakes. Ran out of water on the walk and it was all I wanted. We were sat quickly but the water took a while. Waiter came to take our order and I had to ask for the water first but it was a good 5 mins before that even happened. They were moderately busy, I can't make an excuse why it took the time it did. We did the bacon panini, pancakes, portobello omelette and home fries. Friend was happy to have pancakes and food lol. I never eat so early in the day and as a foodie, it just wasn't getting it for me. The nini didn't have a lot of taste/flavor. I asked for the house salsa, and even it was bland. It took a min to get the water thing down too. My glass sat empty again but then due figured out I was serious about my water. Tasted the omelette, also just fine. Nothing was memorable to me, it honestly lacked flavor. And while we're here, the panini comes w avo on it. The half I ate had none! I took the other half home in hopes of adding some flavor and bringing the other half to life. We shall see. But the way it came out, it did nothing for me. I live for Mexican food and am always looking for a good spot. Based on the taste of breakfast, I'm good. Too many other places to try that can make a bangin brekkie and make me want to try more on the menu. But I wanted to try a place I hadn't been and I did that.

Adam L.

Yelp
The food was not traditional Mexican at all. The chilaquiles didn't have enough cheese and there wasn't much flavor in the salsa . A chilaquiles plate was $23 that's way over priced for the quality. Staff had great customer service but I feel like I just wasted my money.

Yelp
Please turn down the music on the weekend with the band out front. The rest of Arcade Lane does not enjoy it.

Yelp
Great service and food! Come early. Outside seating available. Don't forget to try the half and half coffee chocolate drink!

Yelp
This Mexican restaurant has really great breakfast. For lunch, it's a simpler version of nearby El Portal. The food is tasty and comforting.

Yelp
Excellent Breakfast Restaurant. Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.Breakfast Burritos are very savory

Yelp
I've ordered from Yahaira's Cafe several times via GrubHub. The food is always fresh and tasty. I especially appreciate how they honor my substitution requests. Great customer service. I recommend the chicken tortas.

Yelp
I was on Colorado with my friend looking a place to have breakfast and I saw this one and I told her, look, we can eat here and I am glad we did because the food was good, the place is small but cozy and the service excellent. Thank you Jorge for the service, I couldnt bring my mom to celebrate her birthday because it was raining, but I will bring her and my dad soon for the Sunday brunch.

Yelp
This place has charm and delicious food with great service! Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and our server was very hospitable. We were there for brunch and I had an omelette with a side of potatoes, everything was so fresh, perfectly seasoned, good portions and good salsa too. I love all the attention to details from the beautiful colorful dishes and overall decor to the música playing. They also have a fully shaded patio area away from the sidewalk. Yahaira's is truly a gem in Pasadena!

Yelp
Ordered for some breakfast to go. Lomitos scramble was flavorful. French toast was simple yet delicious. Torta was filling. Loved the fries though. They were super crispy and even after awhile, they still tasted great.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the Yucatán breakfast plate with the Mexican coffee! Definitely have to go back to try more of their menu

Yelp
Above and Beyond! I always enjoy my Saturday Brunch at Yahaira's with a Vampiro to drink and a Quesadilla Especial and a great wait staff. This time I left my purse in the restaurant and two of them stopped traffic on Colorado to return my purse! I was so amazed and thankful but I can't remember their names Mil gracias!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food and prompt service. Had a business breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. They also have their flagship restaurant El Portal behind it, been there several times and it does not disappoint.

Yelp
STOP READING AND JUST GO ALREADY! .....honestly, you can't go wrong here. Big appetites welcome! Looking for authentic Yucatán flavor, challenge accepted! Great atmosphere.........watching the Chef prepare your meal with fresh ingredients, please allow your senses to flow. Kimi, our waiter, solid. He knew what we didn't know about his menu. ENJOY

Yelp
Thursday Surf and Turf Special Burito is amazing at Yahaira's Cafe in Pasadena. The food is always extremely fresh, the service is always 5 stars. Always fun to see them making the food while you watch! This small family owned breakfast and lunch dinner is a must try if you haven't been here! I suggest trying multiple dishes on the menu as they have a really great variety of food to enjoy!
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast or lunch spot. My go to's are the huevos Yucatán or carne asada torta classica. They have yummy fries & black beans are really good too. They have great coffee as well as Mexican hot chocolate. You can also get 1/2 coffee 1/2 Mexican hot chocolate combo and that's yummy Their pancakes are really good too. Today I tried their churros with cajeta on the side and they had that authentic taste you only find in Mexico. The staff is always nice and attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
We always feel treated well whenever we come here. The food is delicious and everything I've tried has exceeded my expectations. I only wish the restaurant was bigger.

Yelp
Came in a Saturday and was quickly seated. It's pretty small inside but manageable and not too loud. When our waiter came to our table he asked us what we wanted to drink and when we answered water, he was very adamant in bringing us hot water which was a little strange as default water is usually room temp or cold. After that, we were asked what we wanted to order and everything was fine. Food came out quickly and was good. We ordered the quesadilla especial, portobello omelette, and huevos Yucatán with cheese. The hueveos Yucatán was definitely the best out of the 3. They also offered us salsa, which wasn't anything special in my opinion. The spicy wasn't spicy and the mild was ok, not much flavor. Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Great place for lunch! I had the Torta Classica and a side of potato salad, and everything seemed very high quality and fresh, the steak cooked nicely, and they were *very* generous in their portions. Plus the outdoor seating is very shady and pleasant, and the server friendly and checked in at just the right frequency. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Miguel L.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast due to its convenient location. The menu is pretty limited. The food is very bland and the coffee was weak. They have inside and patio seating. Parking is hard to find by on the street. I'd skip this place if you're looking for a great breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
My go to Sunday breakfast burrito! Can't get enough, added bacon my second time , fire!! Simple spot, great fresh ingredients , and the cheese, the cheese did it for me in the burrito

Yelp
It's always delicious here. Sunday morning: busy but efficient and responsive service. Jazz group played cool jazz music outside on street.
google avatar

Yelp
Delish!! Plates were perfectly portioned. Mimosas were yummy. Service was attentive and helpful.
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
My go to for breakfast burritos. The homemade salsa is delicious. My only complaint is the last 3 times I ordered it with avocado, the avocado was rotten/brown. So nasty. But I won't do that add on in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here today with a friend of mine for breakfast and let me say, I WILL be coming back here again. I wanted to try someplace new where I havent ate before and I do not regret it one bit! The guy who helped me pick a seating to taking my order till the very end till I left was super helpful and really nice especialy for early in the morning! Lets get to the food: Ive never had mexican hot chocolate before and for my first time ever, i'm glad it was from this place! It was an interesting taste somewhat like horchata but a bit better! I liked it! My french toast breakfast: i'm really picky about french toast because not many places I go to, taste sweet or theyre kinda taste-less BUT I am genuinely impressed! Its soft inside but a tad crunchy on the outside, which is completely hard to do! I loved it!!! As for the mexican panini: many flavors in one bite! I do wish though it had mushrooms but I think thats an add on, plus this wasnt my order. But definately adding mushrooms would taste better in my opinion. Overall, it was really good! Plus, the way the potatoes were made, crunchy but also soft and how well it was seasoned!

Yelp
Yahaira's Cafe has become one of my favorite places for breakfast or brunch! 5 stars!!!!! So many delicious and freshly made items to select from at Yahaira's, from the burritos to tostadas to tortas to omelettes, etc. Instead of choosing from the regular menu items, however, I always like to check out the limited specials on weekends. I've never been disappointed with any of the specials that I've ordered so don't forget to check them out! Also, don't forget to ask for the hot and spicy salsa, available upon request. They really should bottle and sell it commercially! Finally, don't forget to wash it all down with one of their signature juices, the Vampiro or the Yaquis. Yahaira's is owned and operated by the same people as El Portal, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants which feature Yucatan dishes. Just like El Portal, eating at Yahaira's is always a tasty treat to one's taste buds! Yahaira's, however, is so much smaller in scale so eating at Yahaira's definitely feels more personal and homey. There's only a few available tables indoor but outdoor seating is also available if the weather is nice. Finally, service has always been super friendly and welcoming at Yahaira's! Yahaira's, by the way, is located right across the street from Vroman's Bookstore and Laemmle's Playhouse. Definitely the perfect food stop before or after browsing books at Vroman's or seeing an independent film at Laemmle's!

Ricky T.

Yelp
Lomitos scramble was hearty. Breakfast burrito was good. Atmosphere was warm. Service was good.
google avatar

Dita Y.

Yelp
If you like steak and eggs on your breakfast, love Mexican food and don't want to spend a lot starting from the morning, Yahaira's Cafe is the perfect place to go. No long lines like other breakfast places in Pasadena (probably because people just don't know it serves great breakfasts), cozy and comfortable. The coffee variety might be better though, but food will cover for that!
google avatar

Shelly M.

Yelp
Normally this is a favorite breakfast place for me as well as El Portol for dinner. But lately I've had two very unpleasant customer service incidents that made my dining experience go sour. This morning I ordered a breakfast burrito and coffee and sat down. The place was not filled up yet. But soon things got very busy. Anyway, there was a music group playing outside so I moved to an outdoor table and proceeded to eat my meal and drink my coffee and a waiter came over and asked me to move because I'm by myself. So I found a small table with only one chair and thought,"Ok. Sure. Table for one so other people can use the larger one, no problem". But then he literally came over and asked me to give up my SMALL table for one and take ONLY a chair. NOT NICE! Of course I said no (polity), because I had not only had coffee but I was still eating my breakfast. (). It's very sad that some places do not accept women who eat alone. But you know what, there are single people who do dine by themselves...and if you paid for a meal you should not be asked to give up your table for other people. (Especially a small table with one chair).!!! And last week I came here for drinks and nachos in the evening for Mexican Independence Day and a waitress literally shoved the bill at us in a very untoward fashion with such a rude demeanor. She persisted to be very rude and my friend wasn't happy either. Just the way she behaved wasn't the way you act towards customers. Regulars who come here often. Just because you're a popular place doesn't mean you can drop your customer service skills. Anyway, used to be my favorite place to come but I'm really not happy with the crummy two experiences here lately. Not good. Both were pretty stinky.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful place to get breakfast. My colleague and I stopped by here for a business meeting. The restaurant was more of a cafe feel, minimal seating but well worth it. They served coffee with cinnamon which added a zing to it. I ordered the steak and eggs which were awesome. Very flavorful. The salsa was very good. My colleague ordered an omelette but the best part of her experience was they accommodated her request for gluten free. Though nothing on the list was labeled gluten but they assured they would take care of her. The kitchen was clean and they handled her request with great care. She did not get sick!!! Kudos to the staff. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Spectacular. Excellent service and the food is really just perfect and mouthwatering. I loved the vibe and music. Just the perfect balance of attentive and allowing me to just relax and read a book. Im hooked. Call me a regular from meow on.

Kate R.

Yelp
Yahaira's Cafe may have gone out business. We haven't eaten there in a long time, as we generally prefer eating at Nicole's in S. Pas, or Rafe's Place in Glendale. We were in Pasadena after lunch at Rafe's Place, and we noticed that in the middle of the day that it was closed. I went on yelp just now, and it doesn't indicate whether they've closed up, but it's odd that they're closed according to yelp Monday , Tuesday and Tuesday Wedn.,, maybe they've gone out of business, it's all a bit odd, with sign on the door either indicating they've closed/ on vacation, or they're only open currently a couple days a week.
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
This place was wonderful. It's difficult finding authentic mexican food in Pasadena but this place - WOW. We ordered their juice of the day and it was extremely fresh. We also tried their steak n eggs and the lomo huevos or something like that and they were good. But the best dish was the carne en salsa verde. Sooooooo delish, flavorful, a heavy portion, Not greasy.
google avatar

Jordan O.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been going over over 15 years now and it never disappoints! Best fries in the city and I love their chicken fajita sandwich. Chef Mario and the whole team here are super friendly and always reliable for a great and affordable meal. This place is a go!

Yelp
I was in town looking for cafes near me and from the pics I saw online, this spot had promise. Once I arrived, it def met my expectations. If you're like me and like to support small local owned (assuming it's local owned) businesses then Yahaira's is for you. I got the lomito scramble which consisted of "tender pork stewed in tomato and garlic scrambled into eggs with home fried potatoes, guacamole and corn tortillas." Delicious. Of course I had to get the housemade hot sauce to go with it. It wasn't that hot to me but the flavor was on point. Overall, the food was great, the customer service was good and the art/decor of the place gave it a nice vibe. Note: if you're a vegetarian I think you'll be satisfied with the amount if options they have or you can prob make a few things work.
google avatar

W B.

Yelp
I've wanted to try their breakfast burritos for quite some time and we finally had our chance. We arrived and we were seated immediately. The space was clean and the staff was frieI ordered the chicken chorizo breakfast burrito and my friend ordered the vegetarian. When the burritos arrived they looked great and I dug right in. After the first few bites I'm sad to say that I wasn't really impressed. The chicken chorizo was too salty and after half of the burrito I'd had my fill. The salsa was tasty. The burrito wasn't bad, it simply wasn't what I was expecting. I'll definitely go back and try more items on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Breakfast burrito is girthy and uniquely delicious in the way that it is. Also had the California omelette and it was great... very cheesy! Like you cut and take a bite and the cheese pulls like in an Instagram video. But, unlike most insta crap it's actually really fantastic :D Good portions. Server checked on me but just enough where it wasn't annoying. Been here thrice, first time to go, one time inside, one time outside, and I'll be a repeat customer for sure.

Yelp
I've been coming to this bomb little cafe for years their food is always good have great breakfast and lunch choices and also their fries are on point. Their customer service was awesome KIWI (Employee) was extremely attentive to everyone's needs and never missed a beat!!! If you're in Dena U've got to stop by Yahaira's
