Yak-Zies - Wrigleyville

Very near to the stadium Cubs bar. Decent price for hot wings. Hot isn't too hot so go hotter if you want. Fries were also good. No game today so it was slow but I'd guess it gets packed wall to wall. Probably a fun time.

The best chicken wings I ever had. Wing sauces are great and I love the atmosphere in there. It’s hard to get in when the cubs are playing, but when you can get in, you’re going to have a good time.

Nothing better. Bartender Bubba the best. He made drinks are full! Best wings in town. That’s saying something.

The service and atmosphere where great, and the food was good. I got wings and an Italian beef, no complaints, but there was no wow factor.

Yak-Zies has potential to be a fun spot, however, we specifically waited to come here for dinner after the 1:20 Cubs game crowd died down on a Saturday evening. At first we were well attended to but quickly forgotten. One round of drinks and appetizers and we weren't checked on again for 20-30 minutes. We finally decided to leave and go somewhere else. Seemed wait staff was too distracted with other things and the bartender was the only one working terribly hard. Food, what we had, was mediocre bar food that we could have gotten elsewhere.

Five stars five stars five stars. This was my fav spot around the stadium. Low key dive with affordable beer and delicious chicken wings. The wings were so good. I always get mine with sauce on the side, but also tried with sauce and both good. Fries were good. Just a good pre or post game spot and will come back next time I’m in Chi town.

Stopped in before the Pearl Jam concert for some quick food and good beer. Food was great. The service was excellent! Everyone in this establishment was super chill! Cold beer, great service, and good food..... what More asked for before an event at Wrigley Field!

Best wings i have had in the city. i go for the hot which is more like a medium. also there bleu cheese is an absolute must get, tastes homemade and definetly not store bought. One of my fave bars/restaurants since wings are my fave food.

They do not really serve wings , if you order 10 you get 2-3 wings and the rest are drummies. We order two separate orders and 1 had 3 wings and the other 2 wings. If you like dark meat drummies then this is your bar , if not don't waste your time ordering wings . Been coming here for 30 years and out of town guest who heard about the famous wings and wanted try them , they was also disappointed by the lack of actual wings. I can't believe they still have the word wings on the sign. A typical order of ten wings should contain 4-6 wings in a ten order of wings and then drummies. They also really had no sauce on them we order hot and barely a heat level above mild. The cheese curds was good and the waitress was also very attentive.

Was here May 27th, 2023. Same great vibe I've always enjoyed. My wife wants me to mention the women's bathroom was one of the best In Wrigleyville - very clean and recently remodeled.

The Food Was Amazing And I Would Love To Come Back Again Next Time It Is The Best Place To Be For Lunch.

We were in the neighborhood and decided to get wings. It was between Yak-zies and Toons but the 25% coupon posted for Y tipped the scale. Bad choice. The wings, which were $17 for 10 pieces were not only overpriced, they sucked and we didnt even finish them. They were hard and tough and found out later they refused to honor the Yelp promo. Yelp or the Owner should take it down so they aren't lying to future customers. We will not be back and would not recommend it to anyone.

Just want to say that this place is amazing. Everyone works hard especially the food runner named Seamus. He is a very nice, tall and handsome. Also the bartender with the dreads was a cutie pie. Best wings in town.

Wings are awesome, nice environment for before a Cubs game too. Service was pretty solid for a sports bar, would recommend.

Came here for drinks, hard to find descent places to eat in Wrigleyville, they all have tons of violations. This place had/has 7, it scares me. My friend ordered the wings without knowing, she ate them, I assume they were good. But they DO NOT honor the 25% off yelp cert nor the legit $10 off voucher. That's weird to me. Otherwise, everything was good far as beer and wine goes. Server was nice too despite being busy.

I am a big fan of stopping into Yak-Zies before a Cubs game if I haven't eaten dinner yet. It's pretty affordable- beers are $7-8 and hot dogs are $10. The staff is very friendly and efficient to make sure you're getting to the game on time. I came with a group of 6 and the atmosphere is great to get you in a gametime mood. The walk to Wrigley Field is also super easy!!

I have been eating at this famous wings, sandwich and pizza bar for just over 30 years. There are good reasons it has lasted that long... 1) it's across the street from Wrigley Field 2) they often have cool things going on, whether it's live music or live broadcast for radio station or otherwise 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT 4) FOOD HAS ALWAYS BERN GREAT 5) IT'S ALWAYS FRIENDLY 6) IT'S ALWAYS CLEAN 7) THE FAMILY WHICH OWNED IT BACK IN THE DAY STILL OWNS IT TODAY I visited this past weekend just to get some of my longtime favorite buffalo wings and Yak-zie's didn't disappoint! My 20 wings were as perfectly cooked, as perfectly spiced and as perfectly presented as always. FYI, the wings have about five levels of hotness. Back in the day, each of us used to order 20 of the OMG and a pitcher of beer to ourselves. This week I had 20 hot and just a pint ... getting old ... can't hang like I used to! Chicken sandwiches and pizza were always excellent here. The truth is, I admit, I don't think I ever had anything else besides these things over the hundreds of times I've eaten here! :-) On tap are a great selection of locally brewed beers. Parking can be a pain in the ass, but it is Wrigleyville. :-)

Friendly service and the blue cheese dip is all time good. I haven't eaten that much celery in one sitting as I did today, I would put that shit on anything! Nice size bar with plenty of seating, and a good outdoor space as well.

Went to this place prior to a game at Wrigley. The outside seating is nice and the environment was great. Decent amount of menu options, and the food was pretty good. Nothing top notch but decent. Service was quick and our waiter was nice and attentive. I'd go back again.

The name of this place is fitting because the food will make you yak. The pizza crust looked and tasted like cardboard and the cheese just slipped off the crust and tasted like Elmer's glue. The bottom of the pizza looked like it was dropped in an oily street.

As always, I've enjoyed my trip to Yakzies. There was no ballgame going on that day so really appreciated almost the whole place to ourselves. Bubba was great as usual and the wings were to die for. 20 wings with celery and blue cheese dressing, along with a nice cold Corona, just hit the spot for me. Fries were delicious and the burger was perfect. And just around d the corner was the home of the 2016 World Series winning Chicago Cubs.

We had our 30th Anniversary party here. What a great time! Leah and Zack were awesome and so attentive we were able to just relax and enjoy the evening!

I converted to the yak-zies religion for these wings I no longer follow Islam I am now and forever a believer in the Yak. Thank you for changing my life, get into yak-zies and look into the higher truth. Say hi to Bubba for me and thank him!!

I don't typically rate a restaurant by the cleanliness of its bathroom, but this time I'm compelled to. The men's bathroom at Yak-Zies was so clean, I forced myself to poop there. I did so out of what I considered obligation, respect, and total appreciation. Relax...everybody poops. We don't have a choice in the matter. We do however, have a choice as to where we poop, and I chose Yak-Zies. The bathroom at Yak-Zies was so clean, I considered trying to lease the space to develop a more exclusive Yak-Zies called Yak-Zies Pea Pod. As far as the FOOD at Yak-Zies, it's exceptional. We had the nachos, barbecue chicken wings, and an 8" cheese pizza. All was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend Yak-Zies for their food and Yak-Zies men's room for it's sterile field. *The dining room was spotless as well. The staff was kind, courteous, and professional.

It's a local sports bar, but Yak-Zies is definitely one of my favorite spots in Wrigleyville. Great wings and pizza (though not Chicago-style, and it's kind of a love or hate thing) but just about everything on the menu is good including the burger, chicken sandwich, Italian beef, etc. On game days the crowds are large, but still not as packed as the suburban crowds at Cubby Bear, Murphys, etc. Otherwise it can be pretty empty especially now that restaurants at the new hotel down the street are drawing everybody but thankfully the bartenders are nice and will take good care of you. If you're looking for a local place in Wrigleyville, Cubs game or not, Yak-Zies is a pretty good bet. Still my favorite even many years after moving out of Wrigleyville.

So disappointed :( We have been going to this Yakzies for at least 15 years and usually love it. Perhaps our experience today was a result of the pandemic restaurant worker crisis? We ordered $90 worth of take-out, and ended up throwing half the food away. I am pretty sure their deep fryers were not up to temp, because everything appeared to be cooked on the outside, but it was NOT cooked on the inside. Raw fries and solid cheese curds are pretty gross. The chicken on our chicken sandwiches literally tasted like rubber. Super sad, Yakzies!

I would like to thank not only God, but Jesus for this meal. I can't put into words how incredible these wings were. I would wait hours in the pouring rain for a sniff of these wings. I need to go home and write letters to every single person I've ever upset and apologize for my actions. Please get here immediately and eat the wings, get any sauce it doesn't matter.

Very bad experience 95 degrees outside no ac inside Waited 40 minutes for chicken tenders and burger (fries cold) 4th person's order did not come, we had to get to game $6,59 for 12 Oz beer in plastic cup :( Warm beer $3.50 surcharge for cc What a shame

Good stop for a quick bite in wrigleyville. We split the guacamole and it was house made and delicious. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. The inside is filled with all kinds of Chicago sports memorabilia

Service was great and it's the perfect family spot before a Cubs game. Food was good and drinks were cold. Found a table quickly and enjoyed watching some college football before heading to Gallagher Way!

Typical sports bar in Wrigleyville, the main seating area with the sun roof is cool, a few beers on tap not a whole lot, but the staples are there, we got the wings and curds as apps, the curds were really good, and then I got the cheeseburger, which was good, and not too big either. When I went it was pretty packed because of the Billy Joel concert, so walking around was a bit tight, but we were still able to get good service

KP was the best server came here after a concert and she took care of us right away. These are some of the best wings I have had in chicago. Could not recommend more ask for KP if you can.

Came here for Cubs Game 7 World Series. $50 cover, total deal. An intense day, into an insane night. Couldn't be happier. Took a seat at the outside bar. We had quick service & were attended well throughout evening. Wings mild delivered fresh out of oven. Medium Crispiness, medium sized wings. Medium rare Burger was tasty, generous blue cheese (a little too much!). Drinks totally reasonably priced -no WS gouging here! A game so pressurized had everyone on the edge of seat / standing on tip toes. Shout out to our bar staff for keeping a packed house happy. They were moving with lightning speed ALL NIGHT! When the last out was thrown, the place (and Chicago) went into meltdown. Champagne spraying, community hugs, and tears all around. Go Cubs Go! The curse is over.

It took 45 minutes for a thin crust pizza and burger. The burger was burnt. Not a good experience. Edit: They made it right when I mentioned. I'll give them another try.

Came here hungry before a show at Metro, with hopes that the pizza might be decent. Unfortunately, the so-called "pizza" they serve at Yak-Zies was the worst amalgamation of disgusting cardboard crust abominations I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The toppings were piled high but couldn't hide the flavor of the crust. The crust was dry and flecked with green herbs to make it taste unique. It tasted uniquely like vomit. Maybe that's why they call it Yak-Zies? And maybe I'm being too harsh, but I love pizza, especially thin crust pizza. And this was an affront to everything that's good about pizza. Obviously this is not the place to go when you're hungry. It's got nice ambiance, and is probably great for a drink or two. Maybe some fried pickles (thank goodness for fried pickles - they saved the night). But if you're hungry and considering pizza? Don't make the same mistake I did. Go somewhere else.

We met a group of people here before the game and we were in no hurry. We ordered a bunch of wings, got a cheeseburger and drinks. Overall, the wings were the usual fare and my wife's burger was good. Fries were a little soggy, but what the heck. Our server was attentive and entertaining. Overall, it's a decent place to meet before the game.

Went after the September 10th Cubs game. Place was busy but not full. Took the waitress awhile to greet us and when she brought out our drinks she set them on the table with her hands around the rim of the cup. No straws so my lips had to go around the same place she had placed her hands around. Unsanitary and against health code. Me and my girlfriend ordered an Italian beef to share with with onions on the side. Beef came out with onions on top of it. The Italian beef was the driest beef I've ever eaten in my life. It was like eating dirt. Waitress never came around to check on us. Just dropped off the check. Never questioned why two people splitting a sandwich only ate half of it. If I could give a place zero stars this would be it

My husband and I stopped by for lunch before a Cubs game this afternoon (Cubs Won!). It is super close to Wrigley and the vibe is pretty neat. They have two rooms, one for family dining and one for 21+. Their menu is a page, double sided, which had the perfect amount of election. It wasn't overwhelming like so menus can be. They also have a full bar! We ordered their cheese curds & marinara sauce for appetizer ($7). They tasted great and were the perfect amount for a starter. My husband ordered the Italian Beef with Sweet Peppers & Fries. The meat was super tender and the peppers were a great addition. He loved his sandwich, but said he might have liked the fries even more. They were pretty tasty. Perfect crunch and not greasy! I ordered the personal pizza with their famous thin parsley pizza crust. I had mushrooms & their tang chicken. The sauce with the chicken tasted like Red Hot buffalo sauce and I loved it. The crust was a little crunchy for my liking, but I enjoyed it overall. Our entire meal was around $35 with tip, so totally affordable. Our waitress was nice, quick to refill our drinks, and super efficient. We would come back for sure!

I was walking around the area of Wriggly Field at lunch time. Very few places were open. This one was and was a pleasant place. I don't drink but they have a full and extensive bar. The menu is short but covers enough to fill most needs. I had a chopped salad and it was fine. It had a lot of bacon, more than most. The grilled hot dog was also good. I got to read and was pleased with the visit. I did watch a little college football for a bit. If you are in the area at lunch time remember this place you will be happy about it.

They serve you at there convenient good wings but right when you think there on your side they will turn there back. Gets busy they can't take the fire don't expect shit out of these guys.

Ask yourself, have you ever, out loud, said, "Sheboygan?" This review is entirely unofficial (like after a Boxing match...even though it's over...it's always "unofficial results.") This place gets stars from me for it's sheer existence, and proximity to Wrigley. Here I am a young bloke who went veggie for a few years and had a bratwurst, and they provided the pre-game venue for our first Wrigley game. So be it...I'm not saying anything's special here...well other than that they serve bratwurst...really, just treat me in this situation as if I were from Bay of Biscay & I've never had a bratwurst. Like a foreigner who has never had the opportunity to say, "Sheboygan."

Great place for food great atmosphere definitely a must try. Joe and family have been taking care of us for years.

FOOD POISONING & DOUBLE CHARGED!!! Yelp, please make an option for 0/5 stars for Yak-zies bar & grill! I went into this bar on a Saturday night and it was almost empty, for good reason. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and only ate half because it looked border-like raw and tasted like rubber. I immediately went home a vomited all night long. On top of the food poisoning yak-zies gave me, they put someone else's tab on MY credit card. The bar is refusing to pay me back the $50. So I paid my $175 tab plus someone else's $50 tab. Would not let my worst enemy step into this place.

I went here after a Cubs game. We sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent. I ordered 10 Killer wings and they were awesome. Great flavor and spice. They were cooked just right and some of the best wings I have had in a while. Good selection of cold beer! I hope to get back soon!

I will say if you want wings have the OMG sauce and they are the best wings in the city bar none!
