Yakumanka – Geneva - a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant

"There's no stopping Gastón Acurio, a chef who has expanded his empire to Switzerland, opening this cheerful and exotic restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental. You can choose from two set menus or the à la carte menu, which comprise delicious and refined Peruvian specialities (tiraditos, ceviches, anticuchos)… to share – or not! – in a relaxed setting. As well as the various ceviches, be sure to try the fish of the day (only top-notch produce is used here); "la lechera" is also an excellent dessert option. If possible, reserve a table in the extension with views over the Rhône!" - Michelin Inspector

A nice Peruvian cuisine restaurant at the Mandarin hotel. The food quality was good, especially the clasico ceviche and special baby pork roast which was the highlight! The Tuna and salmon ceviche were ok, but nothing beats the classic menu. The cocktail was nice too. Since it's a high-end Peruvian restaurant, portions are small and prices are high. Overall, a good Peruvian restaurant to visit if one wants to have a fancy dining experience with a date, friends, and family.

Tried Peruvian cuisine at Mandarin oriental in Geneva, based on a recommendation from my knowledgeable Mexican friend. Opted for fusion dishes, which were good, but classic dishes might be a better choice for Asian tastes :) And they change their menu regularly. Their cocktail menu could use improvement.

Amazing from start to end! We found the place on Michelin Guide. This was our first try of peruvian cuisine and it was that good. We started with a peru's traditional cocktail Pisco Sour, wow! The cebiches, the tiraditos, the main dishes, what an experience! We'll definitely go back for a Menu Découverte and for some more cocktails.

Very nice Peruvian food but not stellar. I had the tasting menu Raymi at 115 CHF. It doesn't compare to a Michelin menu for the same price in terms of tastes and sophistication. Quentin provided a great service.

More of a 4.5 stars. Was in Geneva in Dec 2022. It was our first time having Peruvian food. The quality of the food was good. Price was very reasonable for the amount of food that we ordered. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The ambience was also great. If I remember right, the primary server is called Luka, and there was also another male server which unfortunately I cannot remember his name (starts with A, or M). The only downside was that Luka did not advise us properly from over-ordering even after we asked him if it was too much for two persons. Eventually, we did not manage to finish the 5 dishes that we ordered (it was a waste of good food!). However, Luka was still very welcoming. We would still be back to this restaurant because of him and the food!

A second choice that should have been the first. The ambience of the restaurant is really casual and layback. We opted to be seated at the verandah, which was great because of the sunny but cooling weather. The food was flavorful and scrumptious. My favourite was the salmon and the octopus. The dehydrated corn was a very addictive snack. Service was good and prompt.

Yelp
We're used to the hotel restaurants being afterthoughts but, at the Mandarin Oriental, Yakumanka is a seriously impressive Peruvian restaurant, comparable to the best I've had in Chicago (Tanta). Service was excellent and the cuisine was a necessary departure from European influence at such a stage of my vacation.
