Hands down the best service around!! It was our first time and will be coming back. The food was really good! And the kool-aid was delicious! Prices reasonable and service was great! Definitely very friendly place the vibe makes you feel like you’re at home.

Google
Amazing food. All well seasoned popcorn shrimp, jalapeños, gizzards... the mashed potatoes, macaroni, tenders and cornbread were great!

Google
Tucked away in the corner of the mall, you find an eclectic decorated restaurant. Our server, Liz, was absolutely great. She had great recommendations and provided the right amount of attention. I had the bourbon pork chops with green beans, corn bread, and collard greens. The corn bread is some of the best that I have had in recent memory. Green beans were seasoned, and you felt the downtime taste and the pork chops had Loisiana bourbon taste and were juicy. 5.7.2025. Pam served and gave us great suggestions. Smothered pork chops! To die for is an understatement. Certainly, I will go back and try other menu items. I was there 1.30pm on a Saturday, and service time was acceptable.

We stumbled onto this place after a restaurant we frequent was closed. What a hidden gem! The food is amazing, real comfort food. The portions are large and do not sacrifice the flavor of the food. The Bourbon pork chops and collard greens are the best I have ever had.

Google
Fun, festive New Orleans themed bar with decorations and food to match. Their turkey po boy was surprisingly good and the cornbread was excellent. They share a huge free parking lot with the adjacent businesses in the strip. We look forward to going back.

11/14/2024: Oh my God! Baby! Y’all’s Down Home Southern Cafe was so delicious that it made my soul smile. I was greeted by Mr. Jeff and Jasmine was my waitress. Their customer service is top tier. I always say whenever you’re greeted with a nice smile, everything will taste good! It didn’t take long to be served after placing my order. Or maybe the time passed by fast because of the grape Kool-Aid that was made with the perfect amount of sugar. I ordered the chicken fried steak, collard greens, red beans and the double crusted peach cobbler. This is the first time that I’ve never had to add extra seasoning to my food. It was provided but not needed. As I type this I’m still in my car, too satisfied to drive to my destination. Every item I ordered was properly cooked and maybe they added an ounce of love it in too. I ate everything. The restaurant is cozy and has a beautiful New Orleans theme. The only thing I didn’t like is I had to leave 🤣. I can’t wait to dine here again. I wish they had a restaurant in my city. Thank you for the excellent food and exceptional service. God bless.

Google
We had the fried catfish plate between us both. It was a good amount. Catfish was crunchy and succulent. The rice and beans had a great creole taste.

Google
I really liked the restaurant. They are very friendly. The food was good. I had the shrimp and gravy. The sides I chose were cabbage and collard greens. Both were very good. It came with a square of cornbread. I will probably go back and try some other items.

Yelp
I went to visit my friend in Austin and we went to Y'all's. She said really good things about this place so I was excited! The entire restaurant is New Orleans based so they have Mardi Gras type decor and a tree that apparently stays there year round (I guess that's a southern thing?) It wasn't busy when we went and we had a large party. The wait staff were super accommodating which was really helpful because sometimes large parties can be a lot to accommodate. I got the fried fish that came with a seafood type sauce on the top. It was sooo good!! The fish came with two sides so I got cabbage and mashed potatoes the sides were okay in my opinion.

Yelp
Pretty sure I got food poisoning here. Showed up around 1 PM hoping for a Hoover's-like meal. Got the smothered pork-chop and girlfriend got the shrimp and grits. She barely touched her meal and I wish I'd followed her lead. Hers was really bland and left her without appetite. I ate about 1/2 mine and just found it okay. We left without to-go boxes which is a first for us. Four hours later, I laid down from exhaustion and proceeded to spend the next two days either in bed our using my ass like a jet stream on the toilet. I felt awful. 0/10 you couldn't pay either of us to go back. Bland sad food that might be contaminated.

Yelp
Y'all's Down-Home Southern Café is an absolute gem tucked away in the heart of the ROCK, aka Round Rock. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with the irresistible aroma of Southern comfort cooking that instantly transports you to Grandma's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon. Let's talk about those chicken wings. Crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection, they're the epitome of Southern comfort food. Each bite is a symphony of flavors, with just the right amount of seasoning to leave you craving more. And let's not forget about the size - these wings are big enough to share, but you might find yourself hoarding them all to yourself. Now, onto the sides. The black-eyed peas are a standout dish, with tender beans and bits of onion that add a pop of flavor with every bite. They taste like they've been simmering on the stove all day, infusing each spoonful with the warmth and comfort of a homemade meal. While the fried corn may not have been the star of the show, it still held its own. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, it provided the perfect contrast to the savory goodness of the chicken wings. And while a touch more seasoning would have taken it to the next level, it still satisfied that craving for Southern comfort food. And of course, Southern meal would only be complete with cornbread. Moist, buttery, and oh-so-delicious, it's the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Each bite is like a taste of home, reminding you of lazy Sundays spent gathered around the table with loved ones. Even during a pickup order, the attention to detail and friendly service at Y'all's Down-Home Southern Cafe shines through. As I placed my order, the server or bartender who assisted me was not only pleasant but took the time to repeat my order back to me. It might seem like a small gesture, but it's those little touches that truly make a difference in the overall dining experience. Their attentiveness ensured that my order was accurate and exactly what I was craving, adding an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. It's these moments of genuine hospitality that keep me coming back to Y'all's Down-Home Southern Café time and time again.

Yelp
This place is in an unassuming shopping strip, but it is really pretty nice inside. Has NOLA themed decor, a full bar and an extensive menu of soulful dishes. I had the chicken strips and fries, with macaroni. Also tried the greens. Everything was excellent. Only gripe is the men's room. There was a plumbing issue when we visited. The drain in the floor was backing up. Will definitely be back to try something else.

Yelp
This mom & pops restaurant was very good! I had the three (3) piece fried chicken, mac & cheese, candied yams and cornbread, it was DELICIOUS! The waiter was super friendly and nice. The restaurant was a mixture of French creole and soul food. Highly recommend 10/10.

Yelp
We decided to take our dad here today and boyyy it didn't disappoint, he is already talking about what he's trying on our next visit! Hot, fresh, delicious. Thank y'all

Yelp
This is the first time I've been there. I went yesterday evening with some family. The waitress sat us down. We told her we need just a few minutes to figure out what we're going to have to drink. It was roughly 15 minutes before she even came back to check on us. We got our drinks and then we ordered. Once the food came out, she never came back once to check up on us and see how things are going. It was at least 30 minutes before she had come back.. The food was delicious, the waitress was kind, but not very attentive. I ordered pork chops and was given a butter knife to cut them. I'm not going nit pick that. But the young lady needs to be more attentive and follow up to make sure everything's good with our meals. She seemed distant maybe she was new I don't know. I'll definitely go back for a second time.

Yelp
This was a little place tucked off in the back of a strip center. The people were so friendly. They really made you feel at home. They have a Cajun/ soul food vibe and it was really good. The tables were a little close together , you couldn't help but hear other table's conversations, but fortunately we had a fun group beside that we conversed with at times. We had for an appetizer , fried cornbread croutons. It was delicious. Our table also had bourbon glazed pork chops, chicken fried steak and smothered pork chops. We left feeling full and I even split a plate and we still had food leftover. The wait staff were very friendly and if your server was not available, no worries, everyone helped each other. Please show this place some love and go by and eat. Be sure you get the fried cornbread croutons - you won't be disappointed

Yelp
Had a great easter brunch here and it was delish. I had to oder the oxtails and although these weren't huge oxtails they melted off the bone and were really tender. I think for the price it was a good value and the gravy had a bit of peppery Louisiana taste which was too good to sop with the excellently cooked rice. The cornbread was of the sweeter variety but loved every bite. Also had the green beans and the collard greens. The greens were well washed with no sandy bits and it was cooked a little al dente without being too mushy or tough. There was enough vinegar that balanced the flavorings too. Service was great and friendly. We were well taken care of. I also felt that the interior was well decorated and you felt like you were at someone's home. If you want another option of home cooking this is well worth the drive to Round Rock.
google avatar

Briana S.

Yelp
Got this delivered and everything was still too hot to eat upon arrival so I had high hopes but unfortunately it was all bland. The candied yams tasted like they came straight out the can, Jiffy has more flavor than the cornbread that was provided, the gravy for the rice was spicy but that's it, there was no actual flavor beyond that and the chicken was fried fine but again there was no trace of seasoning on it. Talk about a disappointment.

Yelp
Out in the area and wanted something different. WOW! Yeppers reviews were spot on about Y'all's! This was home cooking soul and spice. Portions, huge. The best sweet tea around! This is truly a family mom and pop place and local - love to support that! I was raised very southern and this IS southern. Red beans a rice good and thick and a bit of a kick. Black eyed peas, you can see the bacon! The corn bread buttery and sweet! Catfish perfectly seasoned and tartar sauce home made and perfect with the spices. Their special "gravy" not sure what it has in it but wish I could just have some yeast rolls to sop it up! We will be back!

Yelp
This was a stellar experience! We love southern home cooking, but had never heard of Y'alls. Searched my trusty Yelp and it came up when looking for Round Rock eateries. We went for lunch on Sunday. The reviews were spot on. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious and all plates were devoured down to the crumbs. I had the Sunday turkey and dressing special with yams and black eyed peas. The giblet gravy was very close to my dear mom's recipe...halfway between thick and thin and loaded with flavors. Turkey was tender and the cornbread dressing really good. Yams, as others have mentioned, were over the top good. Just not enough of them! The others ordered meat loaf and chicken fried steak and cleaned their plates. Cornbread is served with each plate and is heavenly. The restaurant is in a strip center and doesn't look like much outside. But step inside and the place is beautiful. Very ornate design and decorations. You feel like you've stepped into a French Quarter bistro. Everything is cooked fresh and comes out piping hot. Service is at a good pace and friendly and accommodating. You'll love Y'all's!!!

Yelp
Ate here on a late July Saturday night and had a seriously up and down experience. Let's start with the bad: it seems that staff was completely depleted. The place was busy with a lot of diners, but the service was extremely slow, from waiting for a table, to waiting our server to put in an order, to waiting for the check. We probably spend a total of 2 hours here with just two people. Our server also told us that only one chef was working the kitchen. From the dining perspective, however, the food was delicious. My smothered bone-in pork chop was everything I wanted when I get cravings for southern food. The pork was tender and fatty, and sauce and veggies were addicting, and the sides were so good. Huge fan of their fried cabbage. Cornbread good as I remember as well. And at such a great price. Overall, I would love to come here on a regular basis, but can't justify doing so given how slow everything is. Maybe the wait would be better if you stopped by for a super early dinner ahead of the rush. Hope things get better soon.

Yelp
We previously visited Y'alls years ago and I can't believe we waited this long to return. Their name just about says it all Down Home Southern cuisine just add delicious in front! Our party of 4 arrived on a chilly Saturday seeking comfort food and it was mission accomplished. We debated ordering Apps but after seeing the heaping plates of food arriving at neighboring tables we called an audible and went straight to their entrees. I ordered their meatloaf and I am a meatloaf snob so I've been disappointed a few times. This meatloaf did not disappoint. It was moist and smothered with their signature gravy. The dish also includes onions and peppers that were spiced with their "secret spices". If this was not enough my sides included some of the best collard greens I've had in a while and their mashed potatoes have a surprisingly pinch of heat. Oh, don't sleep on their cornbread deliciously moist and perfect for sopping up the excess gravy. Plus one ordered their chicken fried chicken. The chicken was moist and also smothered with their signature gravy. If you are very hungry order their fried catfish Atchafalaya entree. You get two large catfish filets topped with crawfish etouffee and a bed of rice. As mentioned earlier this is a bountiful dish that you could easily share. Service was friendly and we were checked on multiple times and even the manager stopped by to check on us. There is a full bar with TVs if you wish to catch a game while getting your Cajun food fix. Great folks and wonderful food equals an easy 5-star review. If you are smart y'all should get your behinds to Y'alls!
google avatar

Haley F.

Yelp
The food and service were good! Came out relatively quick considering how big the party was. I would definitely go back! Also, it's a Black-owned business!
google avatar

Nakita G.

Yelp
I've been here so many times and can't believe I've never done a review! The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend trying the food. I've done both--dinning in and take out--and the food never disappoints. I've tried several options on the menu, but my go-to is the meatloaf (at least for right now). The service is really slow like extremely slow, but the food is fantastic. They play good music while you're enjoying your food. There's a bar area with TVs and then there's table seating. I've never sat at the bar, but I've seen it when picking up my to-go order.

Yelp
This place is incredible! If your mama tells you that you look like you haven't been eating very well, that's a sign you need to get your butt down to Y'all's! The portions are tremendous! My catfish hung over my plate! It was breaded with some breading that had a kick to it. It was very tasty. The candied yams are sweet and make a perfect side to any meal choice. I absolutely loved the cornbread and believe the tables should come with baskets of it! The single piece on my plate wasn't enough. I suggest ending your meal with sweet potato pie. Since the meals are so big, you may not have room. Do what I did: take it to go! You'll be glad you did!

Yelp
My husband and I visited Black-Owned Y'all's cafe in Round Rock, Tx and the food & service was amazing! The restaurant is a decorated very quaint, warm and inviting. The staff checked on us repeatedly and's made sure we were happy! Don't forget to add some pecan pie cobbler and peach cobbler, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
This place popped up on a Google search of spots to try in Round Rock. I promise if you go here you will be so happy that you did. When it said soul food you know I had to ask if there was Kool-Aid and you bet your sweet ass they had it along with some of the most delicious heart warming food you could ask for. If I am anywhere close to Austin or the Round Rock area I will make the trek in just to visit this place. God bless y'all!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Waitress was good but hostess, like others have said, said nothing to me when I walked in. I ordered the catfish & shrimp but the Louisiana catfish had a creek/ river smell & taste which was not pleasant for me. The fillets were huge but I barely could stomach a couple of bites. Cornbread was very good. I told my waitress I didn't like It & a manager promptly came to see if he could get me something else. Good service.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
Honest review of someone who knows real soul food. Pork chops were way too thick and not cooked thoroughly breading broke off at soon as you put a knife to it. Greens were sweet. Cornbread isn't sweet. Red koolaid isn't sweet. Catfish tasted like the river. Hard rice in the red beans and rice. Black eyed peas were bland. We were so disappointed we were looking forward to this place. Chicken strips were good. Customer service was great.
google avatar

Carolyn G.

Yelp
Wow! Met up with a friend for lunch here today. The hostess was gracious and didn't make us wait for that one friend to seat us. I ordered the chicken strip plate with the green beans & Mac & cheese sides. My friend ordered the veggie plate. We had no idea the servings were going to be so huge! I got 5 chicken strips that looked more the size of 2 1/2 chicken breasts. They tasted great and the corn bread was amazing. My friend and I both agreed that the green beans didn't taste like green beans, more like stewed tomatoes. My friend said her greens were amazing and the Mac & cheese was pretty good. I think next time we will split a plate because I have a huge to go box!
google avatar

Clint S.

Yelp
Like others have mentioned, you would never imagine that such a nondescript store front would have such a treat waiting for you. We decided to try this place for our Easter lunch and were welcomed by the Queen Bee Pam who seated us and explained the specials of the day. Because I had been studying the menu for weeks before, we already knew what we wanted. The food was delicious and undoubtedly home made, down home southern comfort food, everything came out piping hot straight from the kitchen. The portions are huge, so we needed a to go box when we left. Every single team member is warm, informed about the food, and so incredibly sweet. The music was perfect and the atmosphere is fun, relaxed and welcoming. We're so happy to have spent our Easter afternoon here and we will definitely be back. Thanks to Hanna and Stacy as well for their wonderful hospitality and warmth and making us feel like part of their family of friends and giving us the best possible Easter experience ever.

Yelp
Tambourine hand. I done had worst because yo auntie cooking aint all that bruh. It just wasn't hitting for me. 52 social right across the street is a million times better no lie. And as much as this place cost I would be expecting a lot better service too. The inside is kinda enh too. Like it just aint all I was told it was gonna be. If you legitimately thinking about going here I would really suggest you going to 52 social across the street get them jerk oxtails and I bet you come out happier than if you ate here. No cap. Go at your own risk
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food, generous portions, , good service. Will definitely be back! Don't be hesitant to split an entree. And save room for dessert!

Joe Q.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this place and the flavors! All 3 of us had different plates, and all were tasty. You won't have to worry about being hungry when you leave this place as the plates are bountiful, and the seasonings have just the right amount of spice! My wife had the shrimp plate with Cajun mash patatoes, Mac and cheese, and corn bread. She said it was amazing! My Mother in law had the meat loaf with Cajun mash patatoes and parmasan, bacon broccoli, and cornbread. Again, awesome! I had the pot roast with gravy, Mac and cheese, and bacon green beans. The roast just falls apart nice and tender, green bean with the bacon was delicious and the corn bread a nice buttery sweet! The Cajun mash patatoes I tried were also good with a light spice but not to much. I guess I'd say if your not a fan of spice, you would still like this as it's just enough and not too much. This was a pleasant surprise as this is in a little strip mall, and we really didn't expect much. The service was great! Everyone we encountered was very nice. Prices are very reasonable and definitely a trip back for us! If your in Round Rock and you wish to try some Cajun creole, give them a shot!
google avatar

Shanicy A.

Yelp
Fried ribs were definitely sitting out or just going bad overall. It was not good at all. Only thing I had good was the sides tbh.
google avatar

Haley T.

Yelp
Drinks and food were absolutely amazing! Came out piping hot and well seasoned. The restroom did not lock and felt unsafe to use- I assume they recently broke and will be fixed soon. The service was alright and could be improved upon, but I did notice a sign that said "short staffed" which could mean this isn't common. The owner/manager did come up to us and I noticed that they approached all the tables, which I loved. He was super kind and made up for the service. Of course the most important thing is the food, which we all raved over. Worth the try!
google avatar

Joyce H.

Yelp
OMG!! That's really all I need to say. Came here today for the first time today and WOW! They did not disappoint. Collectively we got fried chicken (them chickens were huge) yams, greens, cabbage, fried boudin balls. Double crusted sweet potato pie and blackberry cobbler! All was awesome. Service was great people all friendly. I don't like that you can't get extra cornbread on the weekends and boudin balls after noon on Sunday. This is 100% you have to go for yourself!! She did wish the cobbler had way more crust.
google avatar

Timothy E.

Yelp
Majority of the food was spicy which was unusual for a southern cafe restaurant. If you like spice then this is it, but I don't prefer spicy food. Fish had a nice breading but wasn't seasoned to my taste buds. Service was adequate but I shouldn't have to remind the waitress for a refill. Staff was friendly but I expected to have better tasting food. Ambiance was decent but I think a new brighter look would be more appealing to customers.
google avatar

K H.

Yelp
We haven't been y'all's in a couple years decided to order a Sunday dinner from them and let me just say It was the worst food that we've ever had red beans and rice was mushy, cabbage was burnt, chicken and pork chop was oily we were unable to finish I think the oil needed to be changed granite It may have been late in the day and they close at five and we picked our order up at 4:50pm but before you send out subpar food a call could've been made stating the kitchen was closed before we spent our hard earned money.
google avatar

Junior H.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely amazing, and truly reminds me of home. Great service, great drinks, and good conversation. It's family owned and operated, and the customers are very loyal. Always greeted with a smile, kind words, and prompt service. I had the grilled catfish, greens, yams, cornbread, and black eyed peas, all perfectly prepared. Highly recommend. My friend tried the meatloaf and loved it as well. Recommend sitting at the bar, but anywhere is great.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Best pork chops I've ever eaten. The serving was 2 huge pork chops with a batter that was perfection. The waitress was great and after we ate the manager came over and visited with us. He wanted to check on the food and service. The restaurant was crowded, but the ambiance with jazzy soft music in the background was great. This is my second review and I think the restaurant has again met my expectations. I highly recommend Y'all's.

Shelley G.

Yelp
Horrible! I ordered the "center cut" fried pork chops from the menu which when served were bone-in pork chops and were visually over-cooked and tasted burnt. When I received my bill I was charged: $12.00 for a House Margarita $9.35 for Gizzard appetizer $19.99 for burnt Bone-in Pork Chops $6.99 for Blackberry Cobbler Total With tax $52.32 I am including a picture of the blackberry cobbler which was brought home and just opened. It is liquid! Save your money!!

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and saw the great reviews. And ima just say this: don't believe the hype. Catfish: too thick. Most restaurants cut off the bottom half of the filet (dark meat). But Y'all's used dark meat filets which I was not a fan of. It was thick and tasted extra fishy. Crawfish etoufee: it was just okay. Spicy. Collard Greens: okay but had that vinegar taste to it if you like that. Mac n cheese: terribly bland. Do not recommend. Yams: good. Red beans and rice: also terribly bland. Leave them there. Cornbread: really good. Oreo cake: bomb. Best thing we had there. We asked for sweet potato pie and were told "we ran out of that yesterday." It's a new day?? Ultimately, I wouldn't come back here. In the Austin area, you'd be better off driving to Whip My Soul in Austin. Also, they're one of those businesses that will charge you extra if you pay with card. The prices on the menu are only if you pay cash.

Yelp
We are family I got all my sisters with me We are family Get up everybody and sing.... I absolutely love this place...it's a little bit of home tucked away in the corner in a shopping plaza in Round Rock. Even though it's in Texas when you step inside you definitely slip into Louisiana. Not only is the food delicious, the drinks pretty lol and tasty...everyone from the front door until you leave makes you feel like family. The owner even makes his rounds to talk to their customers and remembered us from 4 years ago when we first visited. My son asked to have dinner here for his 17th birthday and truly enjoyed it. I have never been disappointed by anything on the menu. Our sever even gave me better recommendations while ordering to accommodate everybody. Thank you!! The ambiance is beautiful, fun and creative. It's very clean and the inside give you more of a homey feel than restaurant. The bathrooms are clean also!! Will def keep coming back, bringing more customers, and celebrating milestones.

Yelp
Serviced: As you walk in there's a girl at the front desk who doesn't even say hello, doesn't ask "how many" , nothing, Just stares at you. After telling her the number she just walked off without a word. I had to ask if we were supposed to follow. Next we sat and waited 17 minutes before being approached by a waitress. Got drink orders and food and didn't see her again, 10 minutes later I had to ask for someone to bring our drinks. Saw no one again, I had to ask for a refill. Our food came and ate the entire thing and waited 15 minutes after eating , before someone came by because I waved down a waitress. Ordered a dessert. Never got it !! Food: It was good. Being from Louisiana myself I was not expecting a whole lot but it was good considering. Portion size was good. The tea was delicious. The food was flavored well. Live band was about to start, but didn't stay out of frustration.

Yelp
We had the fried catfish plate, with yams, and the Cajun mashed potatoes. Everything was good. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Definitely will go back to try other menu items.

Yelp
Great drinks. I had the cat 3 Hurricane and it was great! The bartender was entertaining and very attentive to the needs of those at the bar. I had the fried fish covered with ettoufe and the ettoufe was the star. The fish was not very seasoned but had a good fry on it. Also had the chicken tenders, again good fry but not alot of seasoning. Tried the peach cobbler and blackberry cobbler, both came ice cold and really didn't make the cut. Yams were mid, mac and cheese was ok, fried corn was different but still not seasoned. For $80, we ate maybe a third of the food. I really wanted to like this place. A little salt, goes a long way.

Yelp
Best fried pork chops ever! Great chicken fried steak, Cajun green beans and candied yams. The corn bread was fantastic. Our server, Stacy, was wonderful. Loved the music. We were too full for dessert and will definitely return to try some!

Yelp
Food was ok, not as good as I was hoping. Drinks were good and strong. The service was great though so that's always a plus. I'd probably return and give it another shot.

Yelp
Went here for our first time a few weeks back and was impressed by the portion size and over all experience with dinner. I had the fried pork chops while she had the chicken fried steak. Had drinks while waiting for a table and was promptly seated however the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars was the waitress, took a long time to show up and longer to come back and place our order. Other than that it was an awesome time!

Yelp
I ordered the catfish meal with two sides, mac and cheese, and fried cabbage; with an additional side of candied yams, which ended up being the best part of the meal. Pros: The food was hot. The yams were delicious. Cons: Fried cabbage was bitter, tasted like it was spoiled and cooked with old grease. One bite, and I was done! The mac and cheese was bland, no flavor whatsoever; as was the catfish. The catfish was also slimy, which I later discovered still had the skin on it... underneath the flavorless breading...YUCK! I feel like the $30 spent was a waste with the exception of the $4 99 for the yams (which was way too much for the small portion). I have not been able to find a soulfood restaurant that's even a fourth as good as Dots was...smh.

Yelp
Smallest portions I have ever had at a soul food restaurant. Skimping is never good! The last time I went, I entered the restaurant, no one greeted me. I was going g to order to go, so I sat at the bar for nearly 10 minutes and absolutely no one helped me. I finally went and approached someone near the kitchen and was told someone would be right with me, waited about 4 more minutes and just left. Perhaps they need to make a sign that alerts customers that they may be short staffed and someone will assist as soon as possible.

Yelp
The wife and I went to y'all's this evening and were very disappointed. After being seated and waiting for around 20 minutes no server ever approached our table. The two tables nearest us, who arrived after us, had their drinks in hand and order taken. There were four different servers, or employees performing server duties, in the relatively small dining area. Upon deciding to leave I informed the hostess who seated us and was only asked what table we were at. No apology or effort to make it right. We've eaten at y'all's several times, and are always okay if the food takes awhile because it is generally pretty good. But after this it will be sometime, if ever, before we try them again.

Yelp
Dining at the Black-Owned Restaurant, Y'all's was a true culinary adventure! From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere enveloped us like a comforting hug. The décor was a beautiful blend of modern and traditional elements, with just the right amount of soul-inspired accents to make us feel right at home. The menu was an eclectic mix of classic dishes with a unique twist, and the flavors were nothing short of extraordinary. Every dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented, making it almost a shame to eat it! But of course, we couldn't resist the temptation, and we were blown away by the deliciousness of each and every bite. The service was top-notch, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure our to-go experience was a memorable one. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations and explanations for each dish. Overall, dining at Y'all's was a truly delightful experience, and we can't wait to go back! If you're looking for a place that offers exceptional food, impeccable service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is the restaurant for you. Don't miss out on the opportunity to support a black-owned business and treat your taste buds to something truly special!

Yelp
Another fantastic meal here. We've been coming here since they were in manor and every time the food is amazing. The meatloaf , fried cabbage, collard greens, bayou fried chicken......mmmmmmmm. And our waitresses were the best. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Service was good and prompt. We had oxtails with rice and Mac and cheese and fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and cabbage. Oxtails were not as tender as the should be but we're flavorful. Mac and cheese was delicious, best thing we ate. Cabbage was room temperature and the fried pork chops batter didn't stick to the meat. When you cut the chop the crust would fall off. This is a deal breaker for me, big pet peeve. Mashed were decent and gravy was good. If you have been to Esther's in Houston you know what soul food should taste like. This isn't close. Decent for round rock I guess.

Yelp
A southern dinner with excellent food! The service was outstanding and fast! I had the smothered pork chops. The pork chop was so tender it fell apart with my fork. The cornbread, mashed potatoes. and green beans complimented the main entree perfectly. A little spicy but nothing that would cause concern. If you are wanting something a little different, then stop here and try one of there main entrees. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
