Yasar Halim Southgate

Really like having the Southgate store so conveniently near the gym! Staff always friendly, polite and helpful and I like their fresh produce. You can choose freely and it's not covered in toxic plastic. Really good array of herbs, spices, pasta, pulses and their olives, olive oil and bread really good too. Also the refrigerated items like helim, cheese, humus, filo taste great and cheaper than normal supermarket. Would recommend.

I've shopped here a lot in the past and always loved the selection of fruit, veg and bakery items, however last few times I've been I've felt that the bakery items aren't always as fresh as i would expect. Last night I purchased some baklava and there was no crispness at all, just very soggy, so pretty disappointing. Also the ladies serving on the bakery counter are always very unfriendly, Ive been left waiting whilst they talked amongst themselves and there is never any smile or even any friendly acknowledgement. They clearly don't want to be serving people which is a shame.

Yasar Halim is a gem in the world of supermarkets. Finally! Some decent flounas. Right here in Southgate. So it turns out this is a branch of a Turkish food shop with a built-in bakery. The rest is okay I guess, they got some meat and vegetables, I am yet to try those, not sure about the prices though. The place is quite small for a supermarket. At least it's clean and tidy. The staff are nice and friendly. Better yet they speak English which is great unlike that other bakery in Southgate. So far so good. Keep it up.

Brought a few bits from the bakery, nothing exceptional. A quick word of advice for the lady at the till, train up your customer service skills. Apart from this everything is ok.

A wonderful store, full of delightful Turkish and other Mediterranean products that provide authentic tastes difficult to find in the average supermarket. It was a real pleasure to wander round and find products familiar from when I used to work in Istanbul, particularly in the bakery section.

Great range of very diverse foods and brands. Slightly more pricey but locally based and run, worth a visit for the stuff you don't get at the local supermarket, for example the range of cheeses, olive oils and olives amongst all the fruit and veg and also the legumes. Worth a visit to try something new!

Friendly staff, clean place and prices are much chipper than other supermarkets. They have nice Chilled meals, sandwiches and hot hand made lunch meals.
