The 36 Essential Indianapolis Restaurants

"Yaso may be relatively new to the Indianapolis scene, but husband-and-wife owners Jermaine and Ja’Net Dennis have roots that go back in Jamaica. The menu ranges from beef patties to seafood, all cooked with spices and flavors just as they would be in Jamaica. The perfectly smoky jerk chicken is very hard to stop eating, while the incredibly tender oxtails begin to fall apart on you as soon as you pick them up. Try a combo meal where you can choose a couple of meats with rice and beans, cabbage, and sides." - Mike Gillis

My son brought me for Father’s Day last month and what a great experience. I had never been here, but I’ve had Jamaican food before. This was everything I wanted and the best part is it’s in our own city. The location is a little out of the way from downtown Indianapolis, but worth the drive. We drove on a Friday before the Pacers game and had no trouble getting in and out. The young lady was very friendly and went over the menu. She made it easy to order for me because she answered my questions. My son has been here before so he ordered right away. I ended up ordering the same. The food was delicious and for a big man I was able to save half my meal for later. I do not eat plantains but these are authentic to the Caribbean style. I do not eat macaroni but this was just as good. For a picky man they cooked great food. The pork steak and rice is delicious. I knew that walking in because that’s one thing my son bragged about. He’s had all their dishes. I will be returning to try another dish. If you’re in the mood to experience something different you won’t go wrong here. Friendly staff. Great cook 🧑‍🍳 and delicious 😋 food.

I visited recently with a group of friends and the food was delicious. I ordered the jerk pot roast and it did not disappoint, I only wish I could have been able to take home my left overs! I had no where to safely store it. The plantains were delicious and they also had a tropical rum cake that was delicious!! I tried to eat as much as I could but the serving size was enough for two people. I can’t wait to go back with my husband!! We were able to sit out on their patio which was really nice. The parking is tight but it’s worth walking a bit if we needed to. Service was so nice , friendly workers , and they told us to sit and they would bring it to us. Very small wait time for the big taste!! Thank you for a great time!!

First off parking is kinda tight. I parked across the street. When you get inside you see why because there are only about 6 tables. They make good use of the little space that they have. They do have a drive through if you don't want to deal with the space constraints. You have to order at the register and then they will bring it to the table. Food is served in Styrofoam takeout containers with plastic silverware. I ordered oxtails, spicy beef patty, and a pineapple lemonade. My sister ordered jerk chicken and water. Total was $55. Food didn't take too long to come. Oxtails were good the only drawback was the 2 massive pieces of bone they had hidden in the pile of oxtails. They had meat on them so I wasn't upset. The beef patty wasn't spicy so I got some scotch bonnet from the counter and made it do what it do. The pineapple lemonade was country time or something similar but was good. My sister says the jerk chicken was spicy but she doesn't enjoy spicy food like I do. All in all I can't complain about anything but the price.

Omg I will definitely go again. And again. The portions were filling, the service was great. The building smells so good and is so clean. And that juice, man i love the juice, even my young daughter loved the juice. Anyhow, yes ohh yess I will definitely be seen in there from time to time. The picture really dont do the food justice, but hey, at least you get a glimpse. 10 out of 10. Now go check them out. They have some seating for a cute little date night vibe. Just go check them out. Tell em I sent ya.

My favorite Jamaican restaurant in Indy. My go to is Jerk Chicken (dark)/ Oxtail combo with a beef patty and sorrel drink, mild sauce

Google
Yaso Jamaican Grill serves flavorful, authentic Jamaican food. The JD’s Famous Oxtail was tender and rich, while the Ackee & Saltfish was different and unique and delicious too . Added The Mango Guava on the side , would like to thebother drinks next time as well . Overall, a solid spot for Jamaican cuisine. And the oxtail was really really good ! You won’t regret it

Google
I tried the jerk chicken with rice and peas, and it was packed with smoky, bold flavors - the kind of dish that wakes up your taste buds. The plantains on the side were sweet and perfectly caramelized. The staff were upbeat and welcoming, happy to recommend their favorite dishes.

Yelp
We arrived right when they opened and glad we did because it filled up quickly. You order and pay at the counter and they bring your food to your table. They have a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were very nice and accommodating. I had JD's Famous Oxtails and a beef patty and my friend had Yaso Jerk Shrimp. The portions were huge! Both meals came with rice&beans, cabbage, and plantains. Honestly this was one of the best meals I've had in a while. I couldn't eat all my food and took my leftovers home. My friend said his shrimp was really good. He loves spicy foods and this was the perfect amount of spice. This place is definitely a winner!

Yelp
We visited Yaso on a school fundraiser night (I'm a sucker for a dine-to-donate). We planned to get our meal to go but it smelled so good and there were seats open so we decided to stay. Everything we ordered was delicious. The portions were plentiful. The flavors were deep, and this food was satisfying. My kids also loved some of the imported snack items sold near the register (try the tamarind candy!) and I saw a few people come in to order who were stoked to find these snack items for sale here too. We sat near the bar and the kids were sucked right into the tv screens featuring videos of the food being prepared in the traditional fashion.

Yelp
I had the opportunity to frequent most Jamaician restaurants in Indianapolis over the past few years so I have reserved judgement as to the best of the bunch knowing that each offers something unique that makes them stand out. However, I have come to the realization that YASO is the premier Jamaician restaurant leader. As you enter the facility you get the Jamaician vibe from the pictures and fixtures on the wall. Not a large place but big enough to sit down with friends and enjoy a great meal while the Jamaician music is playing joyfully in the background. I've tried many of their dishes with great success but on this day I chose the curry goat with white rice and plantain. We also ordered the escovitch which is snapper with the head. For the side dish we ordered the grapefruit. Each dish was made to perfection with the trademark Jamaician familiarity of spices and herbs. It is a joy to sit and eat and taste the goodness that comes with each meal. A big shout out to the chefs who make this possible for so many to enjoy. If you want some of the best jamaician food in town do yourself a favor and head down to Fountain Square and find YASO restaurant. You are guaranteed a great experience.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this spot for over a year! I was NOT disappointed! I did get the kids portion and that was plenty for me. The container was full of rice and beans and came with one chicken thigh cooked perfectly and a half a plantain and a little bit of cabbage. I choose mild jerk sauce that was unlike any other I've had. You could taste every spice in the sauce. My beef patty was fresh and yummy. I went around lunch time and my order was ready in less than 5 minutes. Of course now hubby wants to go so we will have to try dinner and let you know.

Yelp
This place hits! First time visiting this lovely establishment and it will not be the last! I got the curry chicken and my husband got the white jerk chicken. The curry was very tender and flavorful. The jerk chicken was a little dry, but it was white meat, so that is expected. It was fine dipped in the sauces that came with it. We also got the last Jamaican pattie and, boy, did we luck out! Sooo good! The restaurant itself is laid back casual. Come as you are. You place your order at the counter and someone brings it out to your table. It's not full service, so don't expect anyone to check on you or bring you a to-go bag. The wait was kinda longer than we expected, but no big deal for us and we were happy to wait for the yumminess! Pricing was decent. The $6.50 for a can of Cayman Jack was a little steep seeing they're like $1.50 at the store, but $45 for two huge meals, a pattie, a Pepsi and Cayman Jack was about what we'd expect to pay and totally worth it.

Yelp
VERY good oxtails, top notch .... The beans and rice are in my top 2 fav in the city along with Loco's Mexican ; they stood alone with no need for sauce or gravy. The Ginger Wine was amazing and I don't really like wine! Clean establishment, efficient staff. Eat Here.

Yelp
Let me tell you! This place had me at Jamaican Patty! It was delightful! I enjoyed the goat and rice and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Tender, flavorful, yummy bite! I also enjoyed a beef patty which had one of the most flavorful beef I've ever had in a patty! The customer service was kind and added charm you can tell she was happy to be there and excited for us to return! The place was full and had plenty of pick up orders. There was seating if you decide to dine it! Overall a winner!

Yelp
I went to Yaso for the first time in a long time and it did not disappoint! I love that they have daily specials and I tried brown stew chicken today (Thursday and Friday only). Mine came with a lot of rice and the cabbages were also great. Everything was just great. It would be even better if chicken was boneless but I know I will have this meal again because it was so tasty. There are not so many tables inside but they did have patio seating too. The food only took five minutes. Staff were so nice there! There were two TVs showing some Jamaican people cooking something which was also interesting too. I loved the reggae music playing in the background. Great place!

Yelp
Well, this was a very pleasant surprise. Needed to run an errand to Fountain Square, and Yaso was around the corner. You walk in, and you are transported to the tropics with the sweet aromas of Jamaican spices. Ordered a jerk chicken that was massively portioned, spiced well and greatly accented by their sweet sauce. Came with rice & beans, cabbage, and a few plantain slices. Service was quick and prepared with smiles all around, and with a little Bob Marley on the radio, it was a great day for a road trip for lunch.

Yelp
In the mood for Jamaican/Caribbean food, so I thought of YASO as I was near the area. It's located on the inner south east side of Indianapolis, small stand alone building, parking is very limited during a busy time. They close at 6pm on Sunday and we came a little before 5pm. This was an extremely busy time, so if you're really hungry like I was, expect a long wait or go another time. They have a drive thru for those that call in their orders and we were told that an hour before closing they get a lot of orders in and are usually very busy (so those call in orders can be before yours) which makes the wait longer. To order was quick but actually receiving the food took over an ho ur as they cook to order. Dine in is available, and our food was brought to our table once it was ready. The wait felt like forever but it was worth it. My food was hot and when I opened the container, I was surprised how much the portion was....plentiful, that part made me happy. Then after taking a bite of everything, I was even happier. It was all so delicious. I ordered a duo entree: jerk chicken (dark), curry chicken, with the red beans and rice. It came with plantains and cabbage. I also ordered the mango guava juice, and that was amazing! My husband ordered the veggie stew entree and it was so flavorful, he was pleased. They serve bottled beer and wine. They have a daily special along with the entrees available always. They make in house drinks (mango guava was one of the options) along with other drinks for purchase. The dessert menu looked enticing. Everyone who serviced us was friendly. Inside has a cool chill vibe with music, decor, and also have items for sale like hats and jewelry. I'll definitely be back for more!

Yelp
My friend ordered take out for us and I am so extremely happy she did. The food was phenomenal. I really enjoyed the curry chicken bone in! It was really flavorful and the sauce was yumm. I am not sure how the environment was when she picked up the food but we both were super happy and satisfied. I will be back!

Yelp
Best oxtails in the city I've tasted. Shout out to the young lady at the register tonight for suggesting the oxtails. My sister suggested this place to me and I'm very satisfied. I got the oxtails and curry chicken. Everything was flavorful and plentiful.

Yelp
I am a fiend for Jamaican food. And Yaso is always the first on my list. The hours are kinda strange but the food never fails. This was my first time ordering oxtail and it was so tender and flavorful. The plantains with the rice and the gravy really worked perfectly together. Typically I order jerk chicken because it is sweet and flavorful but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I usually pick up my food but I walked over and was able to sit outside and enjoy my meal. The restaurant has plenty of outdoor seating. Inside you come up to the register to order and you can also sit in their bar area if you are looking for an alcoholic beverage. The house made guava drink I order was NA but still so tasty. As I was eating, it was the perfect balance of sweet with my savory meal. Service is always quick and the employees are always willing to give their suggestions and recommendations. I will keep coming back to Yaso and I will keep telling everyone I know about how great it is.

Yelp
Best Jamaican food I had since moving to the midwest. Their Jerk beef stew and curry goat is .

Yelp
I was excited to try out a new to me Jamaican restaurant. I called ahead(because I've been disappointed more than once) to ensure they still had oxtails available. The girl said yes and so I placed an order to go. She told me it would be ready in 20 mins. I headed over and when I went it the restaurant was busy. It doesn't have a lot of seating. I went to the counter and told her I had a to go order. She let me know they were packaging it up. I saw they had fresh juices so I added on a mango juice. It was flavorful and I knew it would pair well with the oxtails. My order was ready and the to go container was heavy. It was tied up nicely and I was having a hard time smelling the food in my car so I was a little worried. When arrived at home and opened the bag the smell was wafting out and boy was I hungry. The oxtails were tender and came right off the bones. The rice and beans had good flavor. I'm always a sucker for cooked cabbage and I was pleasantly surprised at how many butter beans ended up in my dish. I love them as well. They had soaked up all those wonderful spices from the oxtails as well as the carrots. I think I could just eat a plate of those. I'm am glad I was able to find a second spot for oxtails that is open on Sunday! If you don't want to be charged a fee for using a credit card bring cash!

Yelp
Best food I ever ate never ate here before but I'm telling you you've got to try it limited seating on prospect Street

Yelp
Everything I have ever eaten here ROCKS. They have a huge selection and the prices are completely reasonable. Service is good too! It can get a bit crowded at peak hours so just plan accordingly.

Yelp
I originally was a tag along with a friend and ended up ordering a entree for myself. When you first enter it the ambiance is very fitting, clean, everyone is enjoying themselves & their food. At the front we ordered with Felicia, she is very nice and guided us through our ordering process. They have a small but comfortable outside sitting area where we ate and enjoyed our meal. The food was well cooked, authentic Jamaican cuisine.

Yelp
Like The Slogan says: Yaso Nice' love the menu. Nicely decorated venue. Friendly service. Loved the snapper fish. Also very clean facility.

Yelp
I vacation in Jamaica. It's where I go. I love the people, culture and the food. I eat at Yaso's. It's where I go. I love the people, culture and the food. Do you understand? Yaso's is Jamaica. It truly represents Jamaica like no other.

Yelp
Without a doubt one of the best meals I've had in awhile. After visiting New York, I was visiting Indy for a few days for an event. If I'm being completely honest, the meal I had here was better than anything I was able to try in New York. I passed by Yasos on the way to where I was staying and luckily it stuck out because i knew I had to try it since Jamaican food is hard to come by in Southern California. I was warmly greeted by one of the owners I believe her name was Janae? (sorry if hard totally wrong) but her hospitality was extremely welcoming and kind. Her service alone made me want to come back and I came to eat here for lunch two days in a row. I wanted to try a couple things and she suggested I order a combo. I did just that and got to try the jerk chicken and oxtail. They did not skimp on the portions here at ALL. I got a good serving of both proteins with the perfect amount of rice and peas, plantains, and steamed cabbage. I've only had Jamaican food maybe 2-3 times prior but with the first bite, I knew this was the best I've had so far. The jerk chicken was absolutely tender and well seasoned. You can taste the smoke(I saw they had a smoker in the back). The chicken had a slight kick but not as spicy as the other place I've had. You have a choice of a side sauce and I went with the hot. I didn't think it was too spicy but definitely added a bit of a kick and a ton of flavor. The sauce was zesty and the spices combined to make a flavor bomb. The oxtail? Ridiculous! Smothered in a rich and dark gravy that was complex in flavor but still complemented the oxtail. The oxtail was tender and you could suck the bones clean. There are bits of carrots and other vegetables in the gravy that melted away with each bite but added the natural sweetness. I'm usually not a fan of beans but I ate all of it up here. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly and had a light aroma of coconut. Even the plantains were a nice addition. Soft and sweet to add a pop of contrast in each bite. The sides at most restaurants are just an afterthought but not here. Unfortunately they only offered the beef, beef & cheese, and veggie Jamaican patties when I was here. I wanted to try their jerk chicken patty as well! My favorite was the beef &cheese but the regular beef was also good. The filling was generous and full of flavor. The pastry on these patties were golden, flakey, and crispy. You can see how many layers in the photo I posted. I dipped these in the hot sauce and in the oxtail and goat curry sauces and that made it even better. The next day, I went with the curry goat and jerk baby back ribs as a combo. Both the goat and ribs were tender but still had a bite to them which I enjoyed. The ribs didn't pack as much of a punch on their own but the added sauce made it pop. The curry was so good and I had to get every last drop on the plate. One of the surprises was the Saturday soup of the day. They were serving a chicken foot soup which honestly sounded odd to me at first. I'm glad I got it because it was super hearty and comforting. The chicken foot was broken up into pieces and was melt in your mouth goodness. Honestly, I'm heartbroken I have to go back to California because I have yet to find Jamaican food as good as this. I'm sure it's there somewhere, but until then, I'll be thinking of Yaso Jamaican Grill. This will be my first stop the next time lm in Indy!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
Man, I've been sleeping on Yaso!! I happened to be in Fountain Square around dinner time and picked up the jerk bbq ribs to go. It comes with a generous side of rice, stewed veggies and plantains. There are three heat levels for the bbq sauce so I went with hot. This is genuinely one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The ribs were falling off the bone, wonderfully seasoned and the hot sauce was enough to make my nose drip, but not enough to make me guzzle water. I loved the veggies and the rice together and mixed a little of that sauce in with them too. I'll be a regular- just wish they were a little closer!

Yelp
Oh. My. God. This place is amazing. My wife and I went here on a Friday night- the place was busy. Atmosphere was upbeat. Not a lot of places to sit but not a big deal. We both got the jerk chicken with rice/beans, and got a rum cake to share after. I traveled to Jamaica a couple years ago, fell in love with Jerk chicken, and have yearning to eat it as I did there. This place was as good, if not better, than what I had in the country. I know I will be definitely returning.

Yelp
The sign outside Yaso Jamaican Grill says "Give thanks always," and I've appreciated reading it daily on my drive home. As one who's never been to Jamaica and has limited experience with the nation's cuisine, I was eager to try it. Recently, a co-worker ordered lunch from the restaurant. It looked and smelled so good, I could nearly feel an island breeze coming from the box. Yaso Jamaican Grill is tucked away in Fountain Square, and if you're lucky, a parking spot can be scored in their private lot. Upon entering, you'll hear reggae music and see images of the island and its residents adorning the walls. It really sets the scene. There's plenty of room to dine in. Be warned, if you want to carry out, order ahead of time - either online or via phone. This isn't Burger King: you'll have it your way, but the food takes time to prepare. Yaso's menu isn't small, and everything looked appetizing. I ordered the jerk chicken. It's a large portion - and thank God! Arrive hungry. It's absolutely delicious, tender, juicy, and spicy. Customize the spiciness or sweetness by choosing the right sauce. Typically, I'd say red beans and rice are just red beans and rice, but not here. I'd describe them as "thick," and the clumps will melt in your mouth. The cabbage and plantains are an added bonus. This food has soul. Obviously, beaucoup attention and care went into its preparation. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how friendly and caring the staff are at this restaurant. They give a damn, and with the way things have been going lately, it's like going back in time. Yaso Jamaican Grill, thanks always.

Yelp
The vibes here are spot on! The walls were colorful with a heartwarming description of their mission and values at this family owned restaurant on the walls. "Yaso was born form the love of blending culture, friends and food..." The music plying throughout the restaurant made me feel like I was somewhere with much warmer weather (which I needed). A big plus for the space is they have their own parking lot! In the summer it looks like outdoor seating is an option but there is also indoor seating as well. I ordered the jerk ribs which were succulent and fell of the bone! The order came with fried plantains and rice and beans. They also give you sauce on the side. I tried both the mild and hot sauce and they both were great. The hot definitely had a kick. The tables could use some wiping and it took a bit to get our food BUT they were quite busy with orders for both dine in and door dash and I think they are cooking up everything fresh. The quality didn't disappoint. The staff were so welcoming! It felt like coming to a restaurant to say hi to friends. That's definitely going to keep me coming back, in addition to the delicious food of course.

Neva L.

Yelp
Awesome food!!! Would definitely come back food is yummy. Not a lot of seating but if warmer you can sit outside

Yelp
My partner and I have been driving past this for a while and last Sunday evening we decided to stop. As soon as you open the door you're greeted with the smells of the Island...spices and warmth. My partner got the jerk chicken and I got the Sunday special of beef stew. Both entrees were served with a more than generous portion of red beans and rice, cabbage and fried plantains. If you love jerk seasoning and healthy portions, find your way to Yasso! The staff was friendly and welcoming and they went out of their way to take care of us. So good! We'll be back!

Yelp
The food was incredible! The ribs were perfectly seasoned, and the sides were great too. It was a lot of food for the price. I am not sure who took our order but she was super nice, and there was a very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. It took around 20 minutes to get our food, which was a bit longer than I expected but well worth it.

Yelp
This place has a great feel-good vibe. There is a nice selection of dishes to choose from. They also have desserts and a variety of drinks/beer. The staff was friendly and hospitable.

Yelp
So I grabbed this the first time and shared a meal with my husband. We ordered the oxtail meal that came with cabbage, etc. I also grabbed macaroni and cheese and a beef pattie. When u say everything was good, EVERYTHING was good! We went back a few days ago and everything was still good. I can't wait to go back and get some oxtail because yum!!!!

Yelp
Ok. So a few days after my first time eating here..... I have returned. The Curry goat was AWESOME, but this time I had the Jerk Chicken. White. Hot sauce.. The chicken was tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. And like last time, the side were perfect. I had an Island Mango drink and it was just what I needed. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The ambience was peaceful and the music was great as always. I live this place and plan to come a few more time during the week or so I have left in town. I brought a few co-workers, and once our plates arrived, it was quiet! Aside from the "mmm u gotta try these ribs". "And ooh that chicken looks gooood".... If in Indianapolis, this place is a must try.

Yelp
This place is amazing! So glad we found it!!! Hubby and I were on a date night near Fountain Square. We used Yelp to find the most highly recommended res nearby and Yaso popped up. We ordered Jamaican patties and chicken curry rice. The curry chicken was so tender! The vegetables that came with the chicken were bursting with flavor! The curry chicken is served with seasoned rice and beans as well as a cabbage side. It was all so delicious and less than $12!!! Jamaican patties were equally flavorful! Pro tip: dip the patties in the sauce from the curry chicken . We are definitely heading back. I'm excited to bring my mom and also try some desserts!

Yelp
my brother-in-law and his family came in from Massachusetts. We went downtown to hang in fountain square. When we became hungry, we took a walk to Yaso Jamaican Grill and we're all quiet frankly blown away. Everyone from age 10 to 55 loved what they ordered, we all tried each other's and every time said "Oh wow, that is good! You order at the counter. If your not sure what to get, ask - they will help! Be prepared for your taste buds to go a bit crazy! And be prepared for great service! We'll be back!

Samer L.

Yelp
Love it can live without Jamaican food. Everything is good man excuse the pun. No matter what you order it is yummy filling and will always end up with a second meal

Yelp
Yaso's is absolutely delicious! I've been several times and whether I'm dining in or carrying out my food is hot, fresh, and accurate! I've almost always ordered the curry shrimp which comes with rice (I prefer white), cabbage, and a few plantains (I didn't even like plantains prior to visiting Yaso's!) Also, their customer service is warm and kind. I almost always ask for separate containers since usually the food comes all together and they do it with no problems! Also, do yourself a favor and order an extra side of cabbage (it's literally my fav!) One tidbit -- I'd call before driving over as sometimes they've been closed during posted hours (this could've been due to the pandemic, low staffing, etc.)

The best and most authentic Jamaican food in Indianapolis. The food is always fresh and hot. There can be somewhat of a wait so I recommend ordering in advance if you are in a hurry. The service is always on point. The staff is friendly. Overall a great vibe.

Yelp
Some of the best chicken I've ever had. We ordered catering from Yaso for work and the process was easy and the people helpful and kind. And all agreed that everything tasted delicious!

Yelp
Amazing Jamaican comfort food. I always get Jerk chicken with dark meat. The plantains, sauce and rice it comes with is the best. They are always so kind and welcoming too!

Yelp
Saturday lunch- we got a white meat chicken meal with sweet sauce, a dark meat with hot sauce, and a slice of the rum cake. I can't decide which sauce I liked better. The rice, cabbage, and plantain sides were all excellent. Rum cake a different and tasted of sweet cherries. Awesome meal overall

Yelp
After finally going to Yaso's this weekend I have two questions for myself - why did it take me so long to go? And when am I going again? The menu isn't large - there are about as many sides as main dish options, but after sampling across my groups choices I couldn't find a bad option. The curry chicken stands out as literally melt in your mouth and the hot jerk shrimp balance at the perfect amount of spicy. At the price point, I plan on going back soon for a patty and a side so I can keep working my way through the menu. One note of caution - when they say seafood will take 25+ minutes, they really mean 25+ minutes. I would probably recommend the next group I go with either lean seafood or land as a group so you don't have the awkward half-party waiting for food scenario.

Yelp
After a chilly evening shopping in Fountain Square, my partner and I decided to warm up with a taste of the Caribbean. We weren't disappointed! We called ahead to place our order and were able to conveniently pick it up at the drive through minutes later. Staff were friendly and the food was delicious!! In addition to the pictured jerk chicken and chicken curry, we had a spicy beef patty that was gobbled down too quickly to capture a photo because it was so good.

Yelp
I ordered the Escovitch snapper, brown stew chicken and curry chicken. All of them have great portion sizes and taste so good!! I also ordered the pineapple guava. I have been looking for great restaurants (especially Jamaican) and so happy I found Yaso! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for authentic, delicious JA food!

Yelp
If you're in fountain square and craving something tasty, look no further! Yaso has GREAT food. I especially love their chicken Pattie's, I could eat them every day! The jerk chicken was bomb too. It takes a bit for you to get your food, so don't go if you're in a hurry. Make sure you've got some time to sit and relax. But seriously, don't skip on the Patty!

Yelp
Spectacular food!! Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and man were we blown away! I love the concept of ordering your food when you come in and it being served in to-go boxes. An introverts dream . Very clean space too! We'll definitely be back again. And again.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Yaso, and really my first time experiencing Jamaican food! I was not disappointed! I had JD's Brown Stew and a Jamaican beef patty. The flavors were explosive. The chicken was so tender it shredded easily with a fork. The rice and beans were also so good. I mixed it all together and had a plantain to finish it all off!! It's a quaint little spot with seating inside and outside. There is parking on the side of the building. The only negative that I thought was the drinks. They have bottled sodas and beer. A great selection, but I would have liked a fountain drink to go along with my meal. If you want to try something different, I definitely recommend trying out Yaso!
