"A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of construction permit applications filed in December that indicate that Joey will open in the Westheimer Road space that currently houses Yauatcha, the glitzy Galleria dim sum restaurant operated by the Hakkasan Group that’s set to close on February 16." - Amy McCarthy

Had a wonderful experience eating here. This restaurant touched all the senses. Very beautiful, an interesting sweet incense smell inside, the quality of all the materials from dishes to utensils was great, peaceful atmosphere, professional and courteous waitstaff. Everything was perfection. All the food was perfect but I really loved the dessert. They tasted so complex and were just truly works of art. Such if gem of a restaurant in Houston.

Super delicious cocktails, nice ambiance, and tasty food. Waiter was very kind and showed up when needed. Had three different cocktails and they were all delicious. The one with a Smokey whiskey and umeshu was my favorite (sorry the name I forgot). Dim sum items were tasty but a tad pricey. Good place for a date or celebration.

A great experience! A group of us (about 14 people) dined here on a Saturday night. We had made two separate reservations (change of plans and such) and when we got to the restaurant, they were super accommodating and managed to seat our 9 + 5 party easily. It was a pretty busy Saturday night so this was pretty impressive. Starting with drinks - they have a large variety of adult and regular beverages. I had the ginger smash which was boozy but smooth to go down. Now, the menus is super comprehensive and has a little of something for everyone. I was really impressed how vegetarian friendly it was and even though I am a proud carnivore, I opted for their vegetarian tasting menu (not a huge fan of pork, duck, venison). I would highly recommend the tasting menu. It is a 4 course (3 courses of appetizer, 1 main and 1 dessert). There needs to be a minimum for 2 people as you share the main course (which are 3 dishes). Honestly, you are full by the main course but it is so good, you can't stop eating! The first course was a pumpkin soup with seaweed. It is surprisingly refreshing and also flavorful. For the second course, it is a collection of dim sum beautifully presented - a mushroom, bamboo and chive filling. For the third course, it was a pan-fried dumpling and vegetarian rice paper roll (a little disappointing). The main course is shared amongst 2-3 people (depending on how many people you have. The bok choy was so flavorful with soy sauce and garlic! The bok choy was cooked very well where it was still crunchy. The vegetarian chicken was unreal. It tasted very much like the real deal and I had to really pay attention to realize it wasn't chicken. The dessert is chef's selection and we got apple vanilla choux and the chocolate pebble. We swore that we could not eat another bite but boy were we wrong. The apple vanilla choux has a creamy center and the chocolate pebble was very mousse-y. Now, I still had a meat dish and would HIGHLY recommend it. I got the crispy shrimp with plum sauce. It was beautifully presented and I would recommend sharing with 2-3 people (comes with 3 rolls). I ate two on my own and do not regret it. The ambiance is very trendy. There is a section that has a starry ceiling which was very unique. The service was impeccable. I have been to food tastings before where you wait so long between each course but they did a great job of timing the dishes. They brought out the appetizers pretty quickly. Had a nice gap before dinner and then a gap before dessert. This allowed a little bit of digestion but also kept your attention. The presentation was beautiful and very well thought out. I love the Hakkassan group and am super excited to have a piece of it here in Houston. This is a great place for date night, girls night, large group and all around a good time!

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had. I took my wife here for her birthday and I couldn't be more impressed. Yes, it is pretty expensive, but well worth it if you or your significant other prefer food over presents. We had the signature menu and it was unbelievable. Very interesting fusion cuisine and a lot of food overall. Delicate but yet fulfilling. The restaurant is pretty and has a very energetic vibe. Definitely give it a try on a special occasion, they do provide a couple of free macaroons for your birthday.

As other people stated it is highly overpriced for the tiny quantity of food you get. Some of the items are simply ok. the dumplings are good, nothing exceptional but you can see they are not bought at the frozen section of an asian store. (Boy i hope they don't). No i'm kidding, they taste different. Some disappointment in some items that are not bad at all but have a taste of "i could have done better at home", they just use good ingredients and/or present it better Some bold combinations in the dumplings make it interesting and most hit good. Their version of spicy food is on point, to me. Just a little kick but it still lets me use my sense of taste. The way they make dumplings is genious for some of them, makes you wonder how they made them. I love that kind of food design. The soup dumpling is one of those although very hard to keep intact to get the full experience (sticks to the parchment paper and/or tears easily and lets go of all the soup that is supposed to stay inside). Absolutely loved the pumpkin shaped one, so cute and tasty. The service was top notch, great suggestions, not too invasive but just helpful enough to walk us through the choices when asked, fill the water cups when empty. Dishes came at a rather slow pace but just perfectly timed so we could enjoy all our food before having the next course without feeling being rushed. All of this made an awesome experience i wish i could repeat more often. Maybe during happy hour ;)

I was able to come here finally and loved it. Everything about this place is beautiful and relaxing. I didn't valet, but found parking underground easily and enjoyed a little walk through the galleria. I did the Taste of Yauatcha preset menu for 2 people with my friend who had also never been there. The preset menu was absolutely worth it and has a nice overview of what they do. You get all the same bite sized items, split some of the bigger dishes, and get two different desserts so you can try both! Really well done. I also ordered a pot of tea, so refreshing and delicate. I came to catch up with an old friend; we didn't feel rushed and we stayed for a long time. Definitely going to come back here! Our waiter was an expert at his job and was able to answer all our questions. Wonderful service.

First, it's just a dim sum place. And because it's fusion style, the price tag is high. The people at the front desk is not so polite, nor warm. Our friend reserved a desk and was waiting inside. But when we check in, the guy told us there is no such guest or reservation and won't let us in. Later, we saw our friend through the window from outside, and eventually get into the restaurant. And my observation is the restaurant was never full during our dinning experience. So, why don't just let people in?! Second, most dishes are good, but not that good for your wallet. And I feel I have had better dim sum with much less money somewhere else. The black truffle roast duck was the only savory dish that was quite impressive for the whole group. Skin is crispy and light. Not so oily comparing to other authentic Chinese Peking duck house. But it's also on the pricy size. The black truffle is only a garnish that was sprinkled on top. And the small portion cost $58. And if you wanna order caviar with roast duck, that's $238. Third, the Houston restaurant is not Michelle star definitely. And a couple plate displayed on our table are dirty. I don't think any Michelle star restaurant owner would torellent for this kind of mistakes. Overall, I don't feel I will come back really soon. With that money , there's plenty of good restaurants in Houston I can go.

Randomly decided to try this restaurant after driving by and the food and service are both just as great as this place looks! We had the server pick a couple of things off h enemy for us and we were not disappointed. 10/10 would recommend for a nice dinner or for a special occasion. There’s a nice room in the back with stars on the ceiling.
