"Chef Wong Wing Keung took his first step on the Michelin stage in the 2018 edition of the MICHELIN guide Hong Kong and Macau, leading Yee Tung Heen to earn the first Michelin star for The Excelsior, Hong Kong since the hotel opened 40-something years ago." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

"Yee Tung Heen, the hotel’s one-Michelin-starred restaurant, has been turning into a respectable brand under the guidance of Yiu Bik Sun, the chef de cuisine, and Wong Wing Keung, the executive Chinese chef. They have been renowned for dishes such as 'baked traditional salt-crusted chicken with Chinese wine' and 'deep-fried king prawn with sweet and sour sauce and dried cherry blossom'. The restaurant prides itself on preserving traditional Cantonese cuisine while also embracing creativity, as noted by the Michelin Guide inspectors. The closing of The Excelsior also means the temporary closure of Yee Tung Heen, which has left the chefs and patrons filled with emotions as they count down to the final days of operation." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

Taking dim sum to another level. It has traditional dim sum as well as some creative dim sum (see photos). All are delicious and some items are even award winning. Besides dim sum, you should also try their BBQ pork and dessert. Service is outstanding as well! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Cantonese restaurant at the Excelsior Hotel in CWB. Been here a few times for dim sum. They serve very good BBQ pork and HK-style charred BBQ pork bun here. They also have other contemporary dim sum items that are quite unique including a taro puff, mushroom buns with seared mushroom, stewed crab, etc. Of course, the classic dim sum items are well-executed as you would expect from a hotel restaurant. Ambience is elegant traditional Chinese without being pretentious. Reasonable price.

Yee Tung Heen, Hong Kong. . 1 Michelin Star. . Fine dim sum is not always found in the fanciest areas. #LDfindsHK #LDfinds #LilyDawis . . A weekday meeting in the busy Causeway Bay landed us in this restaurant. A big restaurant that clearly has their dance steps well rehearsed, I was impressed by these dishes I featured. Delightful morsels of tasteful surprises.

Had dinner at Yee Tung Heen, which was awesome, with friends for the 1st time. Never known that there is a fab Chinese restaurant at The Excelsior before. I do like it more than those more highly praised. Thank you Filoppos for the wonderful hospitality and honest recommendation. Also thanks Ken, the restaurant manager, and his team for such a lovely service. Could not really ask more from them. The mushroom dish we had was a surprise. Super delicious, fine, and balance. The mushroom buns were made to look really like mushroom. You won't notice there were buns. Poached vege dish was delicate and awesome. So sad to see it will have to close down soon. Had little wish that they will reopen when the new facility of the building is done. Such a gem of Causeway Bay.

Yelp
Like Man Wah, the Chinese restaurant in the sister hotel Mandarin Oriental, this place does a good job. The food is top shelf in multiple ways and the service is Mandarin Oriental quality. You will feel both pampered and respected on top of the near perfect food. It's a place for rich folks. Having said that, it's not a secrete place for rich folks so you'll see tourists. If you order carefully & don't have alcohol, you can probably get out of there for about HK$500 a head. Otherwise, it can easily be HK$1,500-3,000 a head. But it's quit good.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel and decided to give this 1 Michelin star place a try. We got the quail, Braised Wagyu Beef Ribs, and a few vegetable dishes. The quail was more gamey than I like, but it was still good. The Braised Wagyu Beef Rib were good, and worth getting. The price was more than a typical Hong Kong restaurant, but cheaper than most 1 Michelin star places.
