"Owners Francois and Fatuma Tuyishime opened this bright little coffee shop in Somerville’s Teele Square with a focus on exclusively Rwandan coffee growers. Francois is from southwestern Rwanda, where his family grows coffee crops, and the couple’s knowledge of the region’s coffee industry comes through in each expertly brewed cup." - Erika Adams

I love this spot :) yes for their coffee, but even more for the culture and the vibe surrounding this shop and what it represents for the neighborhood of Somerville and Teele Square. Owners are so sweet with a wonderful sense of humor. There are always warm, lively conversations going on when you enter, and all sorts of people coming through at different times of day. A beautiful space of gathering and sharing life through good coffee and great company. I’ve brought quite a few people back since my initial visit ❤️

If you want to taste authentic Rwandan coffee, go no further than Yego Coffee. The owner brings the beans from his family farms in Rwanda and roasts the beans en premise and brews them for you in multiple roast intensities. I tried their light roast brewed pour over and it was one of the best cups I’ve had in quite some time. Yego Coffee is an ideal place for drinking exceptional coffee and chat with a friend, or a date, or a work from coffeeshop, or simply enjoying your cup of coffee and indulging in the experience! The barista is super kind and super attentive to details.

Checked out Yego Coffee because I was in the area and have been enjoying cafe-hopping lately. There is plenty of street parking, and the inside is bright with high ceilings and a few tables. There were a few people on a Friday morning. Service was friendly and fast. I ordered a flat white. This was my first time trying a flat white, so I don't feel qualified to critique it. All I know is that it was pretty good. It tasted milky on sip, but there was a nice espresso aftertaste. It was also smooth, and the latte art was pretty. Additionally, $4.50 was a really good price for the amount that I got compared to other cafes! They also had a few pastries, but I didn't try them because I assumed they specialized in coffee more than pastries.

Google
I like this shop, simple, comfortable, good coffee, exceptionally nice people, and it's cool the see the giant coffee roaster thing in the middle of the place! I do wish they had a few more food options. The pastry I had was amazing, don't get me wrong, but a breakfast burrito or something a little more substantial would make this place perfect.

Google
Truly incredible coffee, roasted all in house. Very lovely owners. Cannot recommend more. This is coffee one can feel good about drinking. I've had coffee all over the world, and this one can swing with the best of them. Treat yourself, get a pour-over, thank me later.

Google
Amazing coffee. Where have you been all my life! Medium roast brewed with Aeropress is rich in taste, great mouthfeel and aromatic. Didn’t eat just coffee. Bought beans for home too. The space is unpretentious and the service is welcoming. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks Yego

Google
Excellent vibe, the guys here are hard workers and excellent at making coffee. I didn’t get to sample the pastries, but they looked awesome! Coffee was less expensive than other cafes in the area too. Keep it going!

Google
“From Our Farm To Your Cup” Yes please! We now have great coffee from a friendly, conscious small business in Teele Sq! Leon the dog and I stopped by for a flat white and weren’t disappointed. With a mountain of beans in sight and ready to grind, this light, bright and airy space allows you to enjoy coffee that tastes like real coffee.

Yelp
Yego is an amazing addition to West Somerville. It's been years since Teele Square had a real coffee shop, and Yego meets that need with delicious food and drinks. The espresso is very good, made from Rwandan beans. The owners, Fatuma and Francois, are friendly and welcoming. The decor is simple, with photos of the coffee-making process. Yego serves a variety of pastries and coffee drinks, but for me, their chai is the star. Yego serves the best chai I've had. The spices are varied and balanced. American-style chai is usually made from a pre-mixed syrup. A good place will make their own syrup in-house, but the chai at Yego tastes better than any pre-mixed-syrup chai.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Yego on a Saturday morning and were able to find seating. I decided to get a vanilla latte. The latte art was really cute. I love the details and care that went through making the coffee. The latte is not overly sweet. They have syrup by the door where you can adjust the sweetness on your own. I did not find the coffee acidic, and it was smooth to drink. The price was also quite reasonable. Overall, this place was not bad. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and will come back if I am in the area.

Yelp
Coffee is amazing. But Safe to say they must not have been in France. The crossant was not good. I asked to be toasted but the put it in the microwave. It tastes like NYC coffe cart crossant. Mass produced n not fresh. Service is super friendly. Place just opened a few months ago so maybe they'll get it right.

Yelp
Best coffee in Somerville? The pour over was really good. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The coffee is so rich and delicious, the prices are refreshingly reasonable, and the staff is always so kind and friendly. The inside is nice and bright, I only wish there was a bit more seating because it can get packed.

Yelp
Love this local spot! The interior is clean, simple, and feels very new. Drinks are responsibly priced, and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, perfect place for sipping a coffee and munching on a pastry while you get some work done! My chai latte was very tasty, and the spinach and cheese pastry was dangerously good. Baristas are super kind and I can't wait to go back

Yelp
Lovely place with great coffee and friendly owners/staff so happy to have this place in my neighborhood

Yelp
Great local coffee shop that serves exceptional Rwanda coffee. The service is quick and friendly with both owners cater to their customers. Grabbed a bag of there new "Natural Anaerobic Processed" coffee today and cannot wait to try it out

Yelp
Best iced latte I've ever had. Yummy pastries - we had almond croissants and a chocolate pastry. Amazing space and people.

Yelp
Incredible coffee. Friendly, kind, patient staff. Clean welcoming space. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Lovely addition to Teele Square. Kickass coffee and super nice owners! Love the cortados.

Yelp
I love this place. The baristas are so kind and make my day every time I go. There is also something so tasty about the lattes I get. They're creamy and delicious! It's about the same price as any other coffee shop, which is fair. It's worth spending more (than dunkin - which is getting pretty pricey anyway) to get a good latte sometimes. Highly recommend:)

Yelp
Top notch flat white. Very friendly service. Very happy to have a neighborhood coffee shop with such great coffee.

Patricia M.

Yelp
The coffee was delightful - rich and unusually flavorful! And the service was great - when I tried to order something that the barista somehow knew was not what I had in mind, she helped me make a better decision!

Rachel F.

Yelp
This new coffee shop serving amazing Rwandan coffee is such a hidden gem! My iced latte was delicious and the baristas (who I think were the owners) were extremely friendly. They even kindly honored a recent graduate discount that had just expired. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
this is a great coffee shop in teele square. they have a simple menu but the coffee is very strong and delicious. you can watch the owners bag the coffee beans if you stay and sit inside. i went on a sunday morning and there was a steady stream of customers. i highly recommend!

Julia B.

Yelp
So glad this shop has opened!! Their cold brew is probably the best I have ever had. Will definitely be coming back for more :)

Karen R.

Yelp
Teele Square has needed a lovely coffee shop for years and finally has one! The team at Yego is as delightful as their coffee is delicious. They nailed my dry cappuccino and had delicious, fresh croissants to go with it. Thrilled to have Yego in the neighborhood and everyone should head there to try it out!!

Will J.

Yelp
This is the best coffee in the area, truly. The owners are very friendly and the prices are great. Definitely worth a walk from Davis Square.

Mario R.

Yelp
Great Service, coffee is amazing! Highly recommend to visit and enjoy your morning or afternoon coffee here!

Vinny P.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with amazing Rwandan coffee and tasty pastries that just opened up. The owners were so friendly and would definitely recommend checking this place out

Liz M.

Yelp
This is a wonderful new cafe where you can get great Rwandan coffee as well as some delicious pastries. It is a small but very pleasant space to spend time in, if you feel like it. Or, as I did, to take out from. The owners are so friendly and it was a pleasure to chat and learn more about the coffee business in Rwanda. The cafe is on edge of Teele Square and well worth checking out!
