"A Rwandan coffee shop in Somerville’s Teele Square, Yego Coffee was opened by Francois and Fatuma Tuyishime; Francois, whose family owns a coffee farm in southwestern Rwanda, became a certified roaster, started selling at farmers’ markets, and now roasts beans for Yego (a Kinyarwanda word meaning “yes” and used as a sign of hope and optimism after the genocide against Tutsi); since opening, nearby customers have flocked to the shop, creating lines outside." - Erika Adams
