Yellow Bell Tacos - Review - North Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Parked on the sprawling patio at Austin Beerworks Sprinkle Valley, Yellow Bell Tacos is a truck from the team behind Interstellar BBQ, a place we really like. And while smoked meat tacos have always been a menu special at the original joint, here they’re the star of the show. The brisket is as tender and rich as any we’ve had, but we can’t get enough of the rich, gamey lamb shoulder—shredded thin and paired with enough salsa, onions, and fresh cilantro to add some balance to an otherwise decadent meal. You can also get excellent crispy dogs here—a San Antonio classic—basically the lovechild of a flauta and a smoked hot dog, stuffed with cheese and topped with pico. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary" - Nicolai McCrary

Austin Restaurant Interstellar BBQ Opens New Food Truck Yellow Bell Tacos | Eater Austin

"A South Texas–inspired taco truck driven by the owner’s childhood recipes, the menu centers on tacos featuring smoked meats such as brisket and smoked chicken, plus bean-and-cheese and lamb options. Non-taco items include bean dip, quesadillas, and crispy dogs, and the truck offers aguas frescas (pineapple and strawberry) as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes. After debuting with semi-regular pop-ups on June 17, it is launching at a brewery taproom and will operate Wednesday–Friday evenings and weekend midday hours." - Nadia Chaudhury

5/5 on everything from the taco size to quality. 3/5 because of the size of the salsa serving. Way too small for $7.

Absolutely amazing quality of food and service. The chicken was seasoned and smoked to perfection. You can tell they make their food with love as well.

Was sent here by a member of staff at Interstellar, as it was opening day. As a Dutch person, I don't know too much about taco's . Nevertheless, the flavor was superb on all of them, and it's just an overall cool setting. Met John and his team, and they were extremely friendly as well. Great place to spend a couple of hours, have a few drinks and feast on the taco's!

Been here a couple times, always ordered the lamb tacos and it is delicious. Last time however, there was way too much grease for my two tacos and I could only get through one. Hope it was a fluke because I know I'll be back to try again.

I'd prefer a bean taco from Taco Bell over this disgusting pile of what looks like pre-chewed brisket soaked in grease. The tortilla was so soaking wet from grease, it was see-through. And wtf is that "salsa"? I just threw away 2 tacos with a bite each taken out, and a whole plate of over salted chips with the accompanying blended something in the trash for $30. Absolutely never ordering from here again.

I ordered the brisket taco, chicken taco, kids quesadilla and the crispy dog. Both the brisket taco and quesadilla were too salty. The tacos are stuffed which is why they are on the pricier side. The food definitely smells better than it tastes. Overall it was too salty for me and I probably won’t order from them again.

Wow! Amazing food here. I've been saving pics over the last month while I tried almost the entire menu (though the veggie options I got to go and forgot to shoot when I ate at home). Both flour and corn tortillas here are freshly made to start off my review, and excellent. I sampled a piece of briskett from the Carne Guidada Bowl on special and that will be my next order for sure. The lamb tacos are my favorite--there is no skimping on the meat for these and both the briskett tacos and chicken tacos--though I found the simplicity of the bean and cheese taco to be really great too--after impregnating it with escabeche, of coure--while my wife loves the chicken tacos and the chips and queso most. The quesadillas with chorizo and the crispy dogs are nice enough to toss in the mix too. I honestly don't see enough of escabeche in this world so this place is where I now come for my fix. There is a large covered area for sitting outside in the shade, plenty of other trees and tables, and dogs are allowed outside here at Austin Beer Works whete Yellow Bell Tacos stands ready to serve with both pride in their food and a desire to please. Atmosphere and vibe are relaxed, with music playing and A/C inside. Service is stellar! I have just begun becoming a regular here after 5 visits this last month or so...gotta love it! 5 stars!

My family ordered from their food truck located at Austin Beerworks and we LOVED the tacos (and being a native Austinite, I've eaten A LOT of tacos). My husband got lamb and brisket on flour, I ordered the brisket and chicken on corn, and we ordered the bean and cheese tacos for my two littles. We loved everything we ate, the guy who took our order was SO nice and knowledgeable (he even quietly asked me first and offered lollipops to our little girls), and even though there were a million people there on a Saturday, they texted that our order was ready in a much shorter time than I expected! Great food, service, and of course atmosphere being located at a chill local Austin brewery.
