Yellow Bell Tacos - Review - North Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Parked on the sprawling patio at Austin Beerworks Sprinkle Valley, Yellow Bell Tacos is a truck from the team behind Interstellar BBQ, a place we really like. And while smoked meat tacos have always been a menu special at the original joint, here they’re the star of the show. The brisket is as tender and rich as any we’ve had, but we can’t get enough of the rich, gamey lamb shoulder—shredded thin and paired with enough salsa, onions, and fresh cilantro to add some balance to an otherwise decadent meal. You can also get excellent crispy dogs here—a San Antonio classic—basically the lovechild of a flauta and a smoked hot dog, stuffed with cheese and topped with pico. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary" - Nicolai McCrary

Austin Restaurant Interstellar BBQ Opens New Food Truck Yellow Bell Tacos | Eater Austin

"A South Texas–inspired taco truck driven by the owner’s childhood recipes, the menu centers on tacos featuring smoked meats such as brisket and smoked chicken, plus bean-and-cheese and lamb options. Non-taco items include bean dip, quesadillas, and crispy dogs, and the truck offers aguas frescas (pineapple and strawberry) as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes. After debuting with semi-regular pop-ups on June 17, it is launching at a brewery taproom and will operate Wednesday–Friday evenings and weekend midday hours." - Nadia Chaudhury

A food truck parked next to Old Gregg brewing company - a perfect spot to grab a beer and order some food. Each table has a QR code so you can order straight from your phone. The service was quick; my veggie quesadilla came out hot and really delicious. It was served with some sort of pickle on the side, which had great flavor but were a little too spicy for me. My friends got the brisket taco and the brisket nachos, delicious and generous serving size~ Overall, solid reviews all around. I'd definitely come back~~!!

The food truck run by Interstellar BBQ at Old Gregg Brewing, I was expecting a lot more and it was a disappointing let down. Cold brisket and lamb meat served for tacos, the tortillas are store brought no flavor. The flavor of the meats was okay but being served cold it lacked the taste and flavor for me to write a lot about. $6 for a side of chips and a small cup of salsa was nothing to write about. I would give a skip to this place, pricey small tacos with no real flavor.

The tacos are good, but I wouldn’t recommend paying $9 for a cheese quesadilla. They were so tiny, I had to order my son a kids one in addition for $4 (half the size of the pictured adult version).

Johnny V, I had a question about the nachos. When I was at Old Greg Breeze a couple weeks ago the nachos were on a metal sheet pan. When I went today there were a lot less nachos in a small cardboard serving tray. Did I miss a menu item for a deluxe size nachos or did yall change the serving size?

Yellow Bell Eatery is Old Gregg’s not-so-secret weapon. Everything’s great, but the nachos? I pretend I’m there for a cocktail—truth is, I’m there for those crispy, cheesy, fully loaded masterpieces. Pair ’em with Old Gregg’s drinks, add the super family-friendly vibe, and you’ve got a slam-dunk combo. Easy win-win in my book.

I got the veggie nachos for the second time. Delicious!!! I love the beans and the grilled veggies-especially the jalapeno. They have a lot of vegetarian options.

Fantastic brisket nachos and quick service. We will definitely be back again and again!

5/5 on everything from the taco size to quality. 3/5 because of the size of the salsa serving. Way too small for $7.
