WOW! An absolutely amazing experience at Yellowbelly. The drinks and food are superb, everything we tried was top notch. The cocktails menu is superb and we loved Yellowbelly, Tropical Old Fashioned and Lazy Tiger drinks. The food was super tasty, freshly prepared and wonderfully presented. Street corn taquitos, short rib, jerk chicken burger and spiced grouper were all fantastic. The service was fantastic too. Our server was prompt, accommodated all our requests and made some great suggestions. A must try place when you’re in the area. I can’t wait to go back and try some more items of their menu.

This place is awesome! It is very bright and open on the inside, and they have lots of fun, delicious cocktail options. We came for brunch, and we’re delighted to see a tasty looking breakfast sandwich, among other great options. We sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender, who was super friendly.

Love this place! And the drinks are realllllyyyy good, and cute! The environment takes you away from being in St. Louis for a while. It seriously makes you feel like you’re in a tropical place. Everyone wears unique beach looking shirts, and the drinks are of course, beachy! The music is diverse and groovy. And if you sit at the bar you’re bound to have a good conversation with the friendly bartenders. The food is unique and different, and please treat yourself to their own special shots. They’re purple and good. Try them!

I recently visited Yellowbelly for brunch as part of a monthly tradition with friends—and it absolutely delivered on flavor, creativity, and vibes. This spot has been on my list for a while, and I’m so glad we finally made it! The highlights? • Nashville Hot Fried Oysters – crispy, spicy, and seriously addicting • Lobster Enchiladas – rich, flavorful, and beautifully balanced • Bottomless cocktails – we loved the mix-and-match options like mimosas, pineapple Thai basil, and grapefruit ginger shrub topped with cava 🍹 • Honorable mentions: the ceviche and steak & eggs—both top-notch The atmosphere was upbeat and stylish, and the service was attentive without feeling rushed. Perfect spot to linger over great food and real conversation. If you haven’t been to Yellowbelly yet, definitely add it to your brunch list. And if you have—drop your favorite dishes in the comments, or send me your next restaurant rec! ✨ Follow me for more STL restaurant finds and foodie favorites! #TheSassySaint #YellowbellySTL #STLBrunch #FoodiesUnite #RestaurantAdventures #STLEats #BottomlessBrunch

Google
Had dinner here while traveling through St. Louis. The place is nicely decorated and open with glass all around for good street views. The vibe is very casual and upbeat with friendly service. We started with cocktails which were very good. I had the crab fritters, they were excellent but filled me up before dinner. Careful to eat to many. I then had the salmon in green Thai curry. The salmon was cooked perfect but the green Thai curry was the real hot. It was so flavorful. The rice was excellent as well, a very creative dish. My wife had the steak and said it was excellent. The dessert menu had great option but I was just to full to order. Service was very friendly, professional and attentive

This place us a hidden gem that would definitely be a Michelin or at least bib menu resturant if it was in a different city. The food is quite beautiful but what matters is the flavors, and this place hits that on all levels. Like a Michelin resturant, the flavor profile and mix is all about a subtle mix. Never overpowering but a perfect delicious meld. They have that here on the level of many 3 star Michelin I've been too. Not sure if the chef was classical trained or has a God Palatte but it was good enough that I wanted to meet and thank them. Prices are a good mix of some high but also some affordable burger and small plate options for about $15. Portion sizes are actually pretty dead on. You will walk away quite filled. I had the fish burger and it was very fresh without any aftertaste whatsoever. Cause and sides weren't overpowering and the breading was good. A bit high for $8 fries but they do give a good amount and they are perfectly seasoned. Parking is street and may take some time to find a spot but there is enough nearby. The decor is very modern and well maintained. A virtually spotless resturant. Cocktails seem a bit smaller then standard but still moderately priced and quite delicious. So I would say worth it. Service here is excellant. Very attentive waiter Almadeeen. Good on refills and recommendations. No wait for check or water. You can tell a good resturant when wait staff can describe the taste of all drinks and foods adequately as that means they were trained well. This place is one of thee best restaurants I've been too. It needs to be rated. You st. Louis people are blessed to have this place

Google
Business trip and I'm diggin their fusion at 4.6 ⭐️. First off, kudos for being open on a snowy wintery (is that a word?) day (evening). We were going to another place but was closed and after a couple of tries, we came here. Happy we did... Brussel sprouts were great but just a tad over seasoned. Crab fritters were good but the sauce was too citrusy - I just used a little of the Brussel sprout sauce, which complimented it well. I had the Moroccan spiced grouper which was not spicey at all and was well seasoned. Their drinks were amazing - had the Pain Killer, Yellowbelly and Frio Fresco. Unfortunately this may be a once in a lifetime experience for me as this business trip was a one time opportunity but I totally recommend trying this place out. The service was great. FYI, everything on the menu is a-la-cart, which can quickly drive up the bill if you're not careful.

Yelp
Absolutely must try. We go to restaurants monthly and create our own coursed dinner to share, discuss, savor and appreciate. The service, the atmosphere the people were amazing. But that food was phenomenal. I can remember the flavors of the perfectly balanced raw oysters that opened our evening. The beef fat fries were the best texture balance of crunchy and soft but that garlic ranch stole the show. Spicy shrimp ceviche? Don't mind if I diddly do. The tigers milk softened the heat and the shrimp was perfectly tender with a good bite to it. We had the street corn taquitos which were good but a little heavy vessel of starchy tortilla and the blended corn filling. I'd love that corn filling in a lettuce wrap. Our favorite overall was the pork belly and salmon skewers. The salmon had an airy, crispy bite that was like a salmon puff. We wanted all the desserts but settled on the Pineapple Upside Down Bread Pudding and OH MY EYE ROLL. That was the most delicious way to end the night.

Yelp
We had a great experience here! Where we were sitting was a little noisy but overall the vibes of the restaurant were good and decor was cute! Our server did great. Food was delish. Forgot to take pics until halfway through our entrees, whoops! But nothing was disappointing. We got the cheddar biscuits which were good, a more moist version of red lobsters biscuits, not a bad thing imo! The lobster roll was good, but just a lobster roll, nothing special. Crab fritters were delightful and unique, and the chili glazed pork belly was our favorite app. We got the pork chop and short rib entrees which were both equally delicious. And for dessert we did the pineapple upside down bread pudding. Also amazing, very moist, not too dry. I would return. And would consider going for more of a tapas experience too as a lot of their apps/small plates looked good!

Yelp
Good news first: Decor and ambience is modern and fresh Staff is wonderful. Cocktails are diverse and the star of the show. That's a review for the connected lazy tiger one day. Friends at the table loved the chicken burger and veggie burger. Caesar salads were dubbed different but acceptable. Bad news Bear Menu can't decide if this is fine dining or simply an overpriced cwe trendy hot spot. Could perhaps be both with more yakitori concept dishes at lower prices. Think 1 skewer for $6-$7 then 2 for $13. 4 for $20. Mix and match yields more $$$ Beef. Octopus. Pork belly. The opportunity is there to pair with fav cocktail and set up street carts for the late night crowds. Lastly and sorry to say, oversauced and oversalted salmon is not the way. The pickled slaw saved the dish from needing a water brigade.

Yelp
I don't think there has been another restaurant that has been recommended to me more than Yellowbelly. I finally had a chance to try it out recently for brunch. Reservations weren't too hard to get, and the restaurant is fairly accessible in the busy CWE neighborhood. The vibe of the place is nice and relaxing, a perfect feel for a weekend brunch. We ordered the Mini Lobster Roll, Beef Fat Fries, Breakfast Sandwich with Pork Belly, and Fried Chicken & French Toast. Everything tasted amazing and came out fairly quick. The highlights were definitely the fried chicken and toast, and also the pork belly sandwich. Though both dishes had opposite problems, as the chicken/toast portion was huge, and pork belly portion quite small. Overall, I'd say that Yellowbelly was worth the hype. The menu was full of good value, and I don't feel like many things were too overpriced. I'm definitely excited to come back and explore the menu further! Warm Mini Lobster Roll: 3/5 (good, but probably not worth the price) Beef Fat French Fries: 5/5 (generous portion) Breakfast Sandwich (pork belly): 4/5 (extremely good, but portion quite small) Fried Chicken & French Toast: 5/5 (solid taste and portion)

Yelp
Couldn't recommend this place enough, A favorite option for brunch! Three different mimosa options and full portions of food with unique menu options. The staff is always kind and helpful. The breakfast burrito is awesome too :)

Yelp
Yum! Yum! Yum! So, I've tried the sister restaurant Lazy Tiger but did not know that they shared a kitchen so the menu is the same, only the cocktails are different and the ambience is more bright and airy. Loved the chairs! So cute and surprisingly comfortable. Okay, the food/drink. That's what we're here for. Right!?! Mind blown and taste buds were so happy!! Here's what we had an my thoughts: Drinks: Yellowbelly (me) & Everybody Loves The Sunshine (hubs). Both were delicious and give off tropical vibes. A+ for the presentation. Food: House Made Kimchi (chef's selection for the day was a Persian kimchi made with cucumbers). Fabulous! A fun take on kimchi with heat and the cooling cucumbers. Grilled Salmon Skewers - Man! This is how salmon should be. Deliciously glazed and perfectly grilled. The papaya salad was equally as impressive. It had a great crunch and perfect amount of heat. Brussels Sprouts - To die for!! I could eat this every day. So we did try this at Lazy Tiger and liked it but I don't remember it being THIS good. Must try!! Vegetable Fried Rice w/ Pork Belly added. Wow! A generous portion of fried rice paired with petite diced pineapple, chili crisp and topped with pork belly. The pork belly here is the absolute best. Melts in your mouth and oh so delicious. A little sorry we didn't get the pork belly small plate too...you're going to crave more! Warm Mini Lobster Roll - I was excited for this but was so disappointed. There was no flavor. I was hoping for a butter drizzle or kick of spice but no. Very underwhelming, especially for the price. Too boring for this place and not a good representation of what Yellowbelly has to offer. We had an amazing server, Angelique who took the time to explain the drink and food options and make suggestions She was very welcoming and knowledgeable! Thank you, Angelique!! 5 Stars...Must Visit!!

Yelp
Super yummy, super service, super cute establishment. We arrived and had a little bit of a wait, so we walked around the very cute neighborhood surrounding the restaurant. Once seated we started with cocktails, that were very good and refreshing. Next we had the oysters, the raw and the cooked, tried all three they had to offer and they were all very good. Next was the main course the Moroccan spiced halibut, with broccolini, cous cous, blistering cherry tomatoes, Spanish pork chorizo, chermoula butter, and pistachio tukkah. Finished it off with a berry panna cotta, which we had the server pick and surprise us with as we couldn't decide from the yummy desserts. Our server was great, very informative about the menu, friendly, attentive, and had great suggestions.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Yellowbelly for years now, and I'm very glad we went. The inside decor is super fun and all of the employees wore Hawaiian shirts. They also have outdoor seating as well. Since they are known for their cocktails, we started off with the Violet Mojito and Champagne Ramos. Both drinks were excellent and presented well. To start we ordered some small plates - Nashville Hot Oysters, Cheddar Biscuits, Crab Fritters, Mini Lobster Roll, and the Brussels Sprouts. We also split the Moroccan Spiced Grouper. Overall, we enjoyed all of the small plates, especially the oysters and biscuits. The grouper was more on the dry side and needed some sauce. We would probably skip that next time and try a burger instead. The next time we visit, it's definitely going to be to check out their Brunch or Happy Hour specials.

Yelp
I've been here twice - once for late night drinks outside and once for weekend brunch. I am SO GLAD we came here for brunch! First, shoutout to CJ who is just the best embodiment of a bartender. She's friendly, she's helpful, she's funny ... frankly, she makes you want to hang out a little longer if it's not busy because she's that great. She made my new ALL TIME #1 favorite frozen pina colada. Woweeee it's perfect! I also really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's bright, colorful, and sunny. My breakfast sandwich was lovely and the fries were really yummy. Don't miss this spot when visiting St. Louis and the Central West End neighborhood!

Yelp
Once again, this place didn't disappoint. I had told my husband about this place and we came and ate here since we were enjoying the West End location. He enjoyed his pork chop, and I had the seared scallops with green salsa, which was delicious. Our drinks were okay. He had the octopus and I had the private eyes. I believe I will stick with the Yellowbelly drink.

Yelp
Very Impressive all around. Armando the bar tender took care of us well. The Nashville hot fried Oysters are a MUST! Added a watermelon salad, scallops, Brussels and more. Fun place

Yelp
I ordered the Vegetarian Fried Rice with Spam to share as an appetizer. I'd heard the day before on Arch Eats podcast that it was TO DIE FOR. They did NOT steer me wrong. VERY good! I ordered Grilled Salmon Skewers and House Made Kimchi. For the small amount of salmon on the skewers, they were pretty expensive! And the kimchi isn't your standard flavor for kimchi. It was good, but not what I prefer. There was a LOT of food being passed around and shared which is my ABSOLUTE favorite way to dine out with friends! This is a good place to do it. The service was really good, but the ambiance isn't wonderful IMO. It's a small place and gets pretty loud, though it does look like they've maybe added some tiles to the ceiling to assist with that? Yellowbelly's been on my "MUST GO TO" list for a really long time and I'm glad I finally made it! OH, and that DESSERT!!!

Yelp
My family of 12 went to yellow belly to celebrate my nieces graduation. It was such a nice time with lovely service and a beautiful atmosphere. We were seated in a slightly closed off part because of our large party (we made a reservation). Service was kind and helpful. The food was excellent. I had the spring veggie burger and oh my god. I live in Alton and I want to make the drive just for the sandwich. But if I did I'd have to get the carrots, Brussels sprouts and grilled spring vegetable salad as well. Everyone loved their food. My niece said she wished there was a bit more sauce on her fish sandwich but she enjoyed it. My partner got the chicken burger and was really upset there were pickles on it despite the menu not mentioning them. They had asked for the pickled items to be on the side and the carrots and dikon were but then they added pickles. My partner is one of those people that just hates pickles and anything that touches them. They liked the sandwich with the pickles removed but would have liked it much more if it was prepared right. They'd probably give this place a 2-3. They didn't mention it to the server because no one wants to be that person about pickles. My food was amazing. The grilled vegetable salad had fresh crisp veggies lightly grilled placed on top of a delicious rich yogurt almost cheese spread. The dressing and the small touches (the delicious salt&oil on the bread, seasonings) made this a salad I'll remember. The veggie burger was so good- made up of everything delicious and topped with korean bbq, charred scallion relish, mushrooms, thick slices/chinks of avocado, and fresh lettuce&tomato. Writing this has me planning a reason to go back this week. The charred carrots and brussels sprouts dishes were superior to anything I've had done to carrots and Brussels sprouts in my life. The flavors in both dishes were unique, original and deep. Incredibly well done. Go eat them. Everyone's food was presented beautifully and everyone was incredibly satisfied. This is not a cheap place but it's clear they work hard to keep the prices accessible to more people. It's a great experience and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Great menu choices, attentive, courteous server and noise level conducive to conversation with "inside" voice. Really enjoyed the dining experience here from appetizers to dessert.

Yelp
Yellowbelly has been on my list for awhile, and what better time to go than NYE? It's no wonder they often don't have reservations open, this is a very intimate spot. They like to keep the tables some distance apart, less crowded, and give the BEST service. It was insane how fantastic their service was all night long! You did as much as look their way and they were at your table. Everything came so quick but at the perfect time, like they were watching you and your body language for cues! They are very good at what they do. This is a luxury experience at a fraction of the cost. The atmosphere is very welcoming and clean. A cool fusion feel, with the decor and food being a good match - Hawaiian and Korean maybe? Either way, the owners have good taste. I loved that the bar was the centerpiece of the business and you can see almost everything going on. The drink menu is really awesome. We're not usually vodka drinkers but we're super amazed at how much run forward their menu was! Not a vodka drink in sight which is rare for STL! Lots a great options, and some good wines too. The food. Woah. Everything we ate was top notch. The shrimp in the shrimp ceviche was SO fresh. The brussel sprouts were cooked to a crispy perfection. The pork chop was fantastic and the pork belly dish? Omg. I want to try everything on the menu because we didn't have anything we didn't like. Even the dessert was amazing! Such a great experience, we will absolutely be back.

Yelp
Incredible(!) service, great food, great drinks, steep prices. A fun special occasion place. Would love if they did brunch too!

Yelp
I came here solo for a quick dinner and was able to be seated at the bar. The place is large with bar seating, booths, high tops and regular tables. Wasn't too dark or too loud. I started with a drink - per the bartender's recommendation, I got the Aftershock. It was so refreshing and delicious, on the sweeter side. For food, I got the spam fried rice and added pork belly (per the server's recommendation). The additional pork belly was $8. Honestly, worth it! It literally melts in your mouth. The spam fried rice was too salty for me, personally. Would definitely recommend Yellowbelly! I want to return with friends to try more of their food and drinks.

Yelp
This is tough, could be 4 Stars, could almost be 3...that's not cool! Great spot! Great menu, service is spot on, good Manhattan ...love the music they are playing, great overall vibe! I loved the menu, some serious thought put into this...love it! I ordered the Nashville Hot Fried Oysters, had a few if them! These were amazing, great crunch to them, good quick fry...maybe a little bit of a miss on the Nashville hot flavor but overall very good! Killer sauce in the shell! I did the Veggie Fried Rice with an egg on it! Now, the menu had me jazzed up for this...pretty simple dish but some nice flavors and when done right, a hit! this tried but was all so flat! Not a huge pineapple in dishes guy but this sounded OK...simple flavors but classic! With a soft egg on it, which is only ever a soft egg...the whole point of having the egg is the flavor of that yolk in the rice, with the spices, pure goodness! This Egg was hard, or at least past soft...hard poach...spoon full of diced pineapple was cold, and just plain old pineapple, just plain and cold. The rice was so hot, almost like they had thrown it in something to steam it, pressure cook sort of thing, like weirdly hot! Great spot, great menu just missing it a bit. Would try it again, for sure, so much thought! KT

Yelp
Stopped in for a cocktail and snack during happy hour. I think l have found my favorite cocktail. The Yellowbelly tastes like summer! The details on the decoration also adds to the summer vibe. They were at capacity at the time we arrived with no reservation but were generous in finding us a space.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in St. Louis lately, as it re-creates the feeling of being on a tropical vacation. The restaurant executes its tropical theme so well in decor, cocktails, service, and food. The menu's cocktails feature tropical fruits like pineapple, guava, mango, etc but then they'll do a surprise twist on the traditional tiki cocktails. Their food menu has a lot of great seafood items including their shrimp ceviche, Nashville hot fried oysters (not too spicy), and I really enjoy their steak frites too.
google avatar

Sadie K.

Yelp
What a neat little place! With such a good happy hour!! We sat at the bar and service was quick. I got the Cuban black bean nachos and they were so good! It's actually a pretty good serving size. It was enough to fill me up even though it was a happy hour special. I also got the "spaghetti western" Mocktail. Such an interesting twist on a martini. If you're a martini drinker, you will probably like this. So yummy. The only negative about this area is parking. It can't be hard to find it. generally, I just drive around until I can find metered parking. Best luck along Forest Park

Yelp
Yellowbelly in the Central West End in St. Louis is a seafood lover's dream! #StlouisPescatarianApproved Every time I visit, I can't help but over-order because the menu is just that good. Their oysters are always creative. The lobster roll is an absolute must; it's perfectly buttery and packed with tender lobster. Their scallops are plump, succulent, and cooked to perfection. And don't even get me started on the crab cake balls--they're bite-sized but mighty with the perfect crunch. Honestly, just order one of everything. Trust me, you won't regret it. Every dish is a hit!

Yelp
After years of this place being on our list, we finally made the trek to CWE to eat at Yellowbelly. First off, I love the atmosphere, hip but cozy. Perfect for date night or a girls happy hour. We brought our four year old (adventurous eater) but weren't sure if shed fit the vibe, but they were very welcoming and accommodating. Their kids menu is fantastic and the bin of colored pencils kept her busy for awhile! So thoughtful. Our server was just so sweet, helpful, and energized. Truly the perfect server - I wish I remembered her name to give a well deserved shoutout. Drinks and food all came out timely. The food is spectacular and not one dish was underwhelming. The coconut shrimp were my favorite. The flourless chocolate cake was outstanding. Like an adult PBJ. So so good. Knocked one star because two of us got happy hour Palomas and they were not great and I was disappointed by that. Really not even worth a full star knock, but alas yelp doesn't allow anything less.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
I'd never been here, it was interesting and different but I wouldn't say I need to go back. I got salmon skewers which were actually halibut, we got some kind of rice. The service was good and it had a very chill vibe. Everything seemed to have a lot of sauce. Hawaiian type food.
google avatar

Cathy V.

Yelp
Great food, service, ambiance, and cocktails everytime I come to Yellowbelly! You cannot sit down and forget to order their taquitos and frozen drinks! Absolute must try restaurant for a gno or date night!

Yelp
A pretty good date night spot. We got the pork belly, spam fried rice. The cocktails were on point!!

Yelp
Yellowbelly is my favorite spot in the Central West End. The vibes are laid back and casual, perfect for a relaxed night out. The food is consistently great. I recommend the oysters, salmon skewers, and lobster roll. The drinks are unique and tasty (the lazy tiger is my fave).

Yelp
4/5: Was finally able to revisit one of my favorite STL spots, this time for brunch and it was so good. The ceviche is more like a shrimp-infused guacamole but the flavor was peak. Same could be said for the Nashville hot fried oysters as I could've probably eaten 14 of them. I was the most excited to try their burger and while I thought it was great, there was a little too much pickle coming through and the beef wasn't as savory as I would like. I actually found myself more drawn to the breakfast burrito, which was top notch. I still overall prefer the dinner menu at Yellowbelly, but brunch definitely still delivered on all fronts. Favorite brunch dishes: Ceviche, fried oysters, cheeseburger, breakfast burrito

Yelp
Top 10 restaurant in St. Louis for sure. Enjoy their cute tropical indoor decor or on a nice day sit outside and enjoy the people watching! We got there while happy hour was going on. A few apps and drinks available as well as full menu. If you're looking for tiki type drinks and tapas this is your place! They do offer a few entrees but the shareables are sizable enough for sharing. The fries were by far our favorite thing and the Saturn won drink of the night but their menu so drinks is unlimited and solid knowledge of the menu is seen with the servers. Athalie took care of us this visit and was very enthusiastic, smiling, and knowledgeable to our questions. Food was served very quickly after ordering and came out presented beautifully and hot! Perfect place for a date night or supper club. Defiantly a place on my list to bring out of towners.

Yelp
We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. From the moment we entered, the service was outstanding. The ambiance was lively and pleasant. The decor was beautiful, including the greenery around the restaurant. And the food...SO DELICIOUS! As were the cocktails. All around wonderful evening spent in a beautiful space!! We will be back.

Yelp
I heard about Yellowbelly when an acquaintance told me whenever anyone visited her, she brought them here. Despite this, the opportunity never presented itself and it took me three years before I had a chance to try out this gem myself. I started off with raw oysters in kimchi water & pickled daikon. The oysters were on the smaller side but what they lacked in size, they made up in flavor. The kimchi water gave the oysters a combination of spicy, tangy, and umami, with notes of sweetness and saltiness while the pickled daikon provided texture and a bit of crunch. The salmon was cook to perfection -- a medium-mildly rare, the fish was flakey and moist. The green Thai curry is described as 'spicy' on the menu, but I would rate it as a 2.5/5 on my capsaicin scale. The salmon was served on a bed of jasmine rice, parsnip, peppers, turmeric crunchies. I ate it all. My date had the grilled prime hanger steak. I had one bite of the koji-marinated steak. It was seasoned and also cooked perfectly. We both wanted to come back the next day to get a basket of the beef fat fried. They were that good.

Yelp
We loved our server! They were so sweet and fun to chat with. I had a few of the fries, which were pretty good. But the best thing I had was the biscuits with flavored butter. So yummy! I also loved the steak skewers. Wine selection was good and happy hour goes all the way until 6:30! My friends I was with loved their cocktails as well, especially the one with pineapple (forgetting the name). My only small complaint is that the bench seats were pitched kind of weirdly so it felt like you were sliding forward the whole meal. lol.

Yelp
Had dinner last night with a friend. Fyi- this was a newer menu just recently released. Minimal beer selection but had a montucky- had never heard of it. Nice light beer. Ordered rum batter fish sandwich & beef fat fries. Sandwich was just ok. Fries were yummy. Atmosphere was good. Low key, upscale casual if thats a thing. Sandwiches were $16 & fries were $10. Fries large portion so plan to share. Server was great. Attentive & checked on us several times. Good but I wont run back for another meal.

Yelp
Been to Yellowbelly/Lazy Tiger now 4 times. The food has been outstanding each time. Lazy Tiger has a moodier vibe. Great for a date night. They also have a slightly different cocktail list. Food for both is the same. Recommend going between 5pm - 630pm Tues-Fri if you can. The burger is outstanding. It's both my wife and my favorite burger in the city and we personally enjoy it more than the famous burger spot Au Cheval in Chicago. Other things we have enjoyed are the fried rice with pork belly, beef fat French fries, Brussels sprouts, and Nashville hot fried oysters. Also, heard the beef short rib is fire. Service has always been great as well. Overall one of our go to spots in STL.

Yelp
I had an EXCELLENT solo dinner trip here. There was hardly anyone at the bar, so I took a seat, & was quickly and kindly assisted. This restaurant has a beautiful brunch, and an alluring menu. I enjoyed the coconut shrimp with ponzu as an appetizer. The seasoning on this shrimp was tangy, had a little chili kick, and paired fantastically with the ponzu. The cheeseburger was great. I enjoyed the seasoning on the fries too! Everything you order is aesthetically pleasing, and the taste is as good as it looks. The brunch menu looks marvelous, I will be back to try it out! This is a fabulous place for a date night.

Yelp
We had an incredible first experience at Yellowbelly. It is clear that there are chef creations on the menu that were delicious and each offered something different. We will be back soon!

Yelp
Yellowbelly is a super hip; fun; energetic vibe with gr at cocktails; food and service. We weren't super hungry, but had the inventive Lazy Tigcocktails..... and ended up buying two of their glasses! The whole food scene started with their oysters.... Not so commonly prepared with kimchi.... My husband is a traditionalist, so kind of prefers cocktail sauce and mignonette, but I LOVED them. We also had beef fat fries (gluten free!!) with a delicious garlic ranch, which was so exciting for me. I almost never get to have fries anymore! I also had been dying to try the charred carrots, and they did not disappoint. Hot little spot in a hot little area. We would definitely try it again!

Yelp
Made reservations and got a seat right away. Service was great, food was very very good. Carrots were best i've ever had, brussels were alright (very oily), and skewer portion was very VERY small (definitely a SMALL plate). Ambiance was cute! I recommend (10/10)

Yelp
We were able to walk into Yellowbelly on a beautiful and lovely Wednesday evening in May and were seated right away. The service was friendly and attentive and the space is bright and lively. The food is good but pricey. Sandwiches are a la carte and don't come with fries, although they are at a price point where you might typically get a side at other restaurants. No draft beers here, but the can selection is sufficient and their cocktail list is extensive. We had the salmon tostada (no photo, but delicious), the carrots (excellent), the jerk spiced chicken burger (my colleague order and said it was good and especially saucy), the battered fish sandwich (a lot of breading, could have used a dash of a more liquid sauce in addition to the thick Cajun tartar) and a shared side of fries (substantial portion, enough for three to share). Though the menu is meat and seafood heavy, they did offer a veggie burger and an Impossible chorizo dish. I don't live in St. Louis but if I did I could see this being a good go-to for a group dinner.

Yelp
Yellowbelly is, simply put, incredible. Bringing a seafood forward menu to landlocked St. Louis is no easy task. But, Yellowbelly consistently delivers. This was our first brunch at Yellowbelly. I must admit, I am quite disappointed in myself for not going sooner. We had quite the haul. And, all of it exceeded expectations. The biscuits, nashville hot oysters, french toast, fried chicken, and steak and cheddar burrito were on the menu. I gotta admit, I think the nashville hot oysters are my favorite. They have a spicy mayo served with them. The oyster is chewy with a crispy, spicy coating that is perfectly fried. Oh, so good. The biscuits were also amazing. Super flaky and the powdered sugar coating made them all the better. The best aspect of the steak burrito has to be the roasted salsa inside. It is smoky, peppery, and overall the perfect fit with the steak and potatoes. As for cocktails we rolled with a frozen guava marg, cobra's fang, yellowbelly, from dusk til dawn, and intolerable cruelty. The cobra's fang and yellowbelly are probably the 2 favorites. Both tiki cocktails dishing up refreshing flavors. Plus, they pair perfectly with the ambience. They absolutely brought tiki vibes to St. Louis, but did not overdo it. The interior is bright, natural, and beautiful. Everything is chic, sleek. But, you can still feel the coastal vibes which I love. On top of some great eats we had a fantastic server. He was on top of his game and happy to answer any questions or validate an order. Super attentive. In any case, Yellowbelly continues to be a contender for one of my favorite spots in STL. And, certainly one of the best bar programs. I will be going back time and again. This place rocks. Thanks again, Yellowbelly, for your unparalleled service, eats, and drinks!

Yelp
Friends & I come here frequently for a girls dinner because it checks so many boxes - feels hip in a very central cool neighborhood, great drinks, yum seafood, great service. We tend to all get together and order nearly every appetizer on the menu - I'm not sure I've actually had entrees here. Favorites are probably the spicy shrimp ceviche, mini lobster roll, but never disliked anything! I've also done brunch, and that's been a hit too. Enjoyed the breakfast burrito and remember enjoying everything friends got, too.

Yelp
I'm in St. Louis, near Washington University for a meeting with the university's clinical studies team, staying at the Doubletree Hotel @ Forest Park Avenue and was doing a Yelp search for dinner options and found Yellow Belly and am so happy with this amazing restaurant, the quality of the dishes I had, the wine recommendation and service. I would return to St. Louis just to eat here!! As it's just me, I selected to just sit at the bar. And that was a GREAT idea because of my luck to have Angelo Perez as my gracious and really amazing server. His recommendation for both wines and dinner and dessert choices WOWed my palate and in fact, I returned with my team the next night for drinks!! This was a dining experience to remember and I am thankful for Angelo for his recommendations - he is an amazing resource and server at Yellowbelly!! I can't wait to return!!

Yelp
Yellowbelly keeps getting better & better! The space is gorgeous, the dishes are light & delicious, and the cocktails are BOMB. The cocktail menu is extensive and every drink I've tried (which is a lot at this point lol) has been fantastic! If it's your first time, you have to get their staple, The Lazy Tiger, but really you can't go wrong! Their food menu is made for sharing. It's a great place to go with a group so that you can try a bunch of dishes. Our current favorites are the oysters with kimchi & pickled daikon (these are my absolute fav dish), the Nashville hot fried oysters, the crab fritters, spam fried rice, & the spicy shrimp ceviche. Yellowbelly is definitely a seafood lovers dream, but if you're not a seafood fan, they have plenty of options for you too!

Yelp
We had our team dinner on a Tuesday night. Party of 10. We were seated right away in a private little nook. Our server was great and on top making sure we were taken care of. We decided to try everything under the cold apps except for the salads, everything from the snacks section and all of the hot side. I didn't try any of the dishes with meat so sadly I didn't get pictures of all the dishes. But the ceviche and the biscuits were by far my favorite. I was really excited for the spam fried rice but it wasn't everything that I hoped for but it was good. I've only came here for brunch and always loved it but I think the dinner menu is my favorite.

Yelp
We got drinks at Lazy Tiger before heading next door for our 7:15 reservation at YellowBelly - same food menu but different drink menu. The drinks were great and in cute glassware, very photo op friendly! At YellowBelly, we enjoyed the bok choy crunchy ramen salad, coconut shrimp, Nashville hot fried oysters, taquitos, and carrots. I absolutely loved the taquitos and would go back for more! My friends raved about the carrots as well. Many folks at our table got burgers with fries (the fries had a yummy spice on them, maybe gochuchang powder?). I had the green curry salmon - it was more rice than I expected and it was only 2 salmon bites, so a bit overpriced for what it was, but the green curry was very good - not too spicy but good flavor. Our waitress was great, very attentive and helpful when it came to any questions we had - the speed of service was good as well, we didn't feel rushed and the food came out in a timely manner. It's a fun spot to hang out and try some different types of food and drinks!

Yelp
Yellowbelly is a nice restaurant located in the CWE. They are affiliated with Retreat Gastropub and offer brunch/lunch/dinner options, cocktails, beer, and wine. I saw that they offered a few N.A. options for cocktails so I ordered ordered the violet mojito without alcohol in it. It was a refreshing cocktail but a little sweet for my liking with lots of ice. I ordered the steak and cheese burrito as well. It was delicious! Inside there was steak, eggs, potatoes, and cheese. The burrito had beautiful grill marks and the ingredients all went well together. Overall I would come back for brunch! One caveat is the parking- there is not much street parking available so you may need to park and walk!

Yelp
Yellowbelly is a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends. I'm someone who loves to try a bunch of menu items, and they have a lot of small plate options that make that easy! We came for date night and tried a few items on the menu to share. For drinks we ordered Yellowbelly, Saturn, Violet Mojito and Concrete Jungle. All of them were good but my favorite was the Yellowbelly - it was sweet without being over the top and I love the fun tropical glass and toppings! Our server was attentive without constantly being at our table. For food we shared oysters (and tried both flavors), a Salmon Tostada, Crab Fritters, beef fat French Fries, and a Rum Battered Fish Sandwich. Everything was really good and I'd be happy to come back and order the same things. The stars to me were the fish sandwich and the crab fritters. The sandwich has the best crispy coating and the creole tartar sauce had a perfect zing to it. The crab fritters had an amazing dipping sauce. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.
