Orange County’s Old Chinese Restaurant Yen Ching Closes After 40 Years - Eater LA
"Sad days are ahead for fans of Yen Ching restaurant in Orange. The OC Register reports that the restaurant will be closing its doors on New Years Eve, ending an almost 40-year run for the iconic spot. Yen Ching has been known for decades to critics and regular diners alike as a spot for vintage Chinese-American cuisine, served with a smile inside a Googie-style A-frame cafe space. On Facebook, ownership says that “we have decided that the time for retirement has come.”" - Farley Elliott
Best shrimp chow mein I have ever had. Also, the staff is kind and the ambience is pleasant.👍☺

Stopped at this place with the family on the way home from Disneyland. They are in an interesting older building that’s been set up really nice inside. The food was very good and the service was outstanding. I recommend their Yen Ching beef. It was delicious.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Been coming here since the 80's with my parents. It's served family style so you can order a few different plates and share with your party. All selections are pretty standard and basic. Nothing crazy but the quality is worth the price. Their house tea is fantastic. Love this place.

Best Chinese food in all of Orange County. Authentic food, excellent service and the atmosphere and ambiance are very pleasant and warm. Great place to take the family and the portions are more than generous. Been going here since I was a child. It never disappoints.

Unfortunately tonight was their last night of being in business. If you never got the pleasure of eating here, rest assured that you missed out. This landmark restaurant and it's awesome employees will be greatly missed. Thank you for your 39 years of deliciousness. Happy New Year all!
