Yeobo Cafe And Bar's gluten-free breakfast sandwiches miss the mark - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"A gluten-free cafe full of breakfast sandwiches on homemade english muffins sounds like an excellent concept. But Yeobo on Capitol Hill falls flat. There are cold sausage middles, boring scramble squares, and bread that’s somehow both gummy and dry. You may even run into an otherwise tasty gochujang mayo-slathered egg sandwich accidentally missing the egg iself. Unfortunately, the good doesn't outweigh the bad here. Those looking for a decent gluten-free morning meal should head northwest up Madison and opt for Cafe Flora instead. Food Rundown The Basic The name says it all. There's nothing special to see here—but add gochu mayo and order this with their breakfast bun instead of the english muffin, and you'll be in better shape. Hot Mama Despite the addition of spicy pork belly, kimchi, provolone, and gochu mayo, the Hot Mama is pretty underwhelming. Just build your own sandwich instead, if you must." - Aimee Rizzo

Went on a weekday morning, and oh my goodness the Hot Mama sandwich rocked my socks!!! I subbed kimchi for arugula, and it was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It was perfectly savory and filling, wonderfully hot and toasted, and had the right balance of spicy Asian flavor. The fact that this shop exists and serves vegan and gluten-free menu with Korean flavors is a dream come true. The shop wasn't very crowded when I went in, and there were plenty of seating options with free wifi! The space was super cute and cozy. I was able to have a work call in the second room quite easily. Parking was on the street. Bathroom was super clean and cozy and well stocked. 💗 Can't wait to come back!!

Yeobo is my favorite place in Seattle hands down!! Whether you’re gluten free or not, their menu is absolutely delicious. My go to order is the basic breakfast sandwich with bacon and garlic mayo and decaf espresso tonic with lemon curd cold foam. Truly the best. And check out their new evening menu! Think elevated bar bites and amazing drink pairings. Highly recommend their korn dog bites, scotch egg, and cauliflower fried chicken with dry spice. You cannot go wrong ordering anything here. Mars and the team go above and beyond to make your experience special. Please visit and keep this wonderful community space open!

I got the match latte special they had with brown sugar and lavender. SO GOOD!!!! I got another one. I also ordered the wakey wakey breakfast sandwich x2. YUM! I definitely questioned the gluten free bread at first, but it ended up being so good and held the sandwich together great! I tried both the roll and English muffin. You can’t go wrong here. They have customizable options if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or simply want something different. I’m lactose intolerant so I appreciate that they has such delicious latte options and foam toppings that are dairy free.

Glad we made the trek here this fine morning! The vegan breakfast sandwiches (also 100% gluten free) we're absolutely scrumptious and can't believe the bread was gluten free. The tofu and veggie patty were delicious and I wish we ordered 10 more of each type of sandwich 😜 We met the owner and she said to us, "I'm so excited for you all," and it just set such a buoyant tone for the meal. She and her employee were so friendly and welcoming, which is sadly becoming rare in restaurants in the Seattle area. I'm happy to say that we'll be back soon to try their drinks and other sandwiches.

Fantastic sandwiches and excellent takeaway options! Everything was flavorful and well-balanced. The ambiance of the space was bright and cozy. Great place for breakfast and brunch. Give this place a try today! For the gluten free crowd - this place is dedicated GF! I hadn't had a fresh English muffin in many years... Made for fantastic sandwiches. :)

The space aims for a cozy, living-room vibe, but the seating is more style than function. Most tables are small—fine for two, but awkward for larger parties. The couch and coffee table setup looks inviting but isn’t practical for eating, and the metal barstools are uncomfortable. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches to eat in and two to go. The staff offered to stagger the orders, and while they were super friendly, the service felt disorganized. After waiting over 30 minutes (and watching later-arriving tables get served), we discovered our food had just been sitting out. They refunded the two dine-in sandwiches, which was appreciated, but by then the gluten-free bread was cold and dry, and the cheese had become greasy and sweaty. The coffee was good, but overall, the experience missed the mark. With so much effort clearly put into the space, it’s disappointing the food and service didn’t match. We were hoping for more and won’t be back.

The food is soooo delicious, the staff is incredibly warm and friendly, the space is cozy & relaxing, the silverware is rainbow iridescent colors... Yeobo is the perfect cafe! The fully-gluten-free Korean-American menu is incredibly delicious and creative, with plenty of options for your carnivore buddies and your vegan pals too. The grab-n-go musubi & the Thai tea tapioca are both super fabulous in the morning when I'm in a hurry. And then there's a whole array of different flavors of house-made dairy and vegan (coconut milk) foams to dress up your iced coffee or matcha! At the bar, the cauliflower wings are incredible, and I'm stoked that they've got non-alcoholic teas on tap as well as stuff like local ciders. And oh my god, the sweet creamy little pickled cipollini onions in the cold noodle dish were so dang tasty I wanna buy a jar of them to take home. Mars & the team have poured their heart and soul into this place, and it shows. Yeobo is a super comfy, super queer, super community-oriented place to be nourished with delicious food and to just vibe, alone or with friends. <3

I LOVE THIS PLACE 💗 Yeobo has such a cozy vibe and everyone that works there is so kind and friendly. As someone with food allergies it's also so great to go to a place where I know everything is safe for me. I got the 'Hot Mama' breakfast sandwich with the breakfast bun and an Americano and everything was delightful. The bun had the right amount of crust and was salted properly! So many people forget that bread needs FLAVOR, but not Yeobo 🎉. The provolone was ooey gooey melted and the pork belly was so yummy 😋. I can't wait to come back for brunch!

Yelp
Ok, adorable place in Madison Valley, right on a bus line. Queer and API owned and operated, supporting API businesses during API month. Came by and tried the yummy drink that also comes with prosecco if you want the alcoholic version, we did the nonalcoholic and it was lovely. Space has K-pop playing and kdrama on the screens, two levels with a quaint space with books, puzzles, and board games, also offers space buy out M-F that's affordable pricing. They will start doing evenings as the summer hits and provide beers, wines, cocktails etc. food flys off the bakery shelves so be aware if you come by for a snack and drink :) Really lovely vibes and great customer service.

Yelp
I'm going to be dreaming of these fried egg sandwiches until I'm back in Seattle. I think the best one I've ever had. And as someone with celiac, it's so meaningful to have an all-gf kitchen. Really cute space too.

Yelp
Yeobo is simply incredible. My wife has celiac and it is a fully gluten free cafe that has some of the best breakfast sandwiches, other sandwiches and GF food items around! And they have GF beer and mocktails?! Amazing. The team is second to none and the owner has community in mind with everything they do. We love Yeobo and always enjoy being there every time we go.

Yelp
Still can't believe this place is completely gf! The flavor profile of the wakey wakey with the spicy pork belly and bun hit the spot. Loved the matcha orange Julius for something sweet wish I could eat here more often- definitely will be my new breakfast/ coffee meet up spot with the chill ambiance

Yelp
I'm so excited that Yeobo has evening hours now too! In the morning, I love getting the vegan lemon foam on a cold brew matcha (or coffee) latte. If I'm a hurry, I go for some ready-to-go tofu or spam musubi and Thai tea tapioca cup with crunchy toasted coconut on top. In the evening, I've loved the cool, refreshing sencha citrus drink (non-alcoholic) that's on tap. (They've also got some alcoholic drinks that sounded tasty, I just haven't tried any yet.) The cold green citrus noodles were fantastic, especially the amazing creamy sweet little cippolini onions that are pickled in-house. I also got both the dry rub and buffalo sauce cauliflower wings and they were incredible too -- so flavorful and cooked to the absolute perfect texture. The staff are warm, friendly, and helpful, and the space is incredibly relaxing, comfortable, and welcoming. They've got books and puzzles if that's your jam plus a Monday night crafts get-together. Fully gluten-free, super-creative and super-tasty Korean-American food, deeply queer-friendly -- Mars and the team have really poured their hearts into creating an amazing oasis for the community to enjoy.
