Yeobo Cafe And Bar's gluten-free breakfast sandwiches miss the mark - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"A gluten-free cafe full of breakfast sandwiches on homemade english muffins sounds like an excellent concept. But Yeobo on Capitol Hill falls flat. There are cold sausage middles, boring scramble squares, and bread that’s somehow both gummy and dry. You may even run into an otherwise tasty gochujang mayo-slathered egg sandwich accidentally missing the egg iself. Unfortunately, the good doesn't outweigh the bad here. Those looking for a decent gluten-free morning meal should head northwest up Madison and opt for Cafe Flora instead. Food Rundown The Basic The name says it all. There's nothing special to see here—but add gochu mayo and order this with their breakfast bun instead of the english muffin, and you'll be in better shape. Hot Mama Despite the addition of spicy pork belly, kimchi, provolone, and gochu mayo, the Hot Mama is pretty underwhelming. Just build your own sandwich instead, if you must." - Aimee Rizzo

What a great find for coffee, food, or simply a place to relax and feel welcome. The vibe is chill, the sunlight beams in during the morning making it feel nice and cozy. The coffee is phenomenal, I’d recommend a seasonal option for sure. The food is great, I’d easily say the gluten green bun on my breakfast sandwich is the best I’ve ever had. They don’t ask for a tip which is SO refreshing!! The owner is incredibly kind and mission driven. I had the privilege of chatting with her briefly, she is focused on supporting community and being a safe space which is something I can get behind. If you have time please go show your support to this small minority owned business.

The chicken salad Sando is so delicious!! It's so unique and flavorful than any chicken salad sandwich I have tried. It has a very nice Asian umami taste. The zesty lime and Serrano dressing with the pickled mint has such a refreshing flavor. This is my second sandwich I have tried here and both times the sandwiches were 10/10. They flavors are unique and different than sandwiches you will find elsewhere. I'm looking forward to trying more sandwiches. Good spot for getting work done. It's lively and bright and the music is not too loud.

Google
Yeobo Café and Bar, located at Madison and John in Seattle, is a super cute and chill spot. The team is exceptional, and I had the best sweet coffee of my life. Like seriously... toasted sesame with coffee is my new love language. I love their socially responsible no-tipping policy and how it fosters equitable compensation for the team. Mad kudos. With reasonable prices and comfy furniture, it’s the perfect everyday vibe. As in if I lived in the neighborhood I'd be there everyday.

I went here a few weeks ago, it was a lovely experience! The staff is wonderful and the space is cozy! The food and drinks stand out, something a little different than what you find elsewhere. I greatly appreciate having a dedicated gluten free cafe on the hill! I will be back!

Google
Lovely cafe! So many vegan options. The food was delicious and the interior is cozy and relaxed. The food was delicious and the staff was so kind and friendly. It looks like they have a lot on nonalcoholic vegan tea and coffee options on tap! I can’t wait to come back and bring my friends.

Google
Yeobo is my favorite place in Seattle hands down!! Whether you’re gluten free or not, their menu is absolutely delicious. My go to order is the basic breakfast sandwich with bacon and garlic mayo and decaf espresso tonic with lemon curd cold foam. Truly the best. And check out their new evening menu! Think elevated bar bites and amazing drink pairings. Highly recommend their korn dog bites, scotch egg, and cauliflower fried chicken with dry spice. You cannot go wrong ordering anything here. Mars and the team go above and beyond to make your experience special. Please visit and keep this wonderful community space open!

Went on a weekday morning, and oh my goodness the Hot Mama sandwich rocked my socks!!! I subbed kimchi for arugula, and it was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. It was perfectly savory and filling, wonderfully hot and toasted, and had the right balance of spicy Asian flavor. The fact that this shop exists and serves vegan and gluten-free menu with Korean flavors is a dream come true. The shop wasn't very crowded when I went in, and there were plenty of seating options with free wifi! The space was super cute and cozy. I was able to have a work call in the second room quite easily. Parking was on the street. Bathroom was super clean and cozy and well stocked. 💗 Can't wait to come back!!

Google
I got the match latte special they had with brown sugar and lavender. SO GOOD!!!! I got another one. I also ordered the wakey wakey breakfast sandwich x2. YUM! I definitely questioned the gluten free bread at first, but it ended up being so good and held the sandwich together great! I tried both the roll and English muffin. You can’t go wrong here. They have customizable options if you’re vegan, vegetarian, or simply want something different. I’m lactose intolerant so I appreciate that they has such delicious latte options and foam toppings that are dairy free.

Yelp
A GEM! DO NOT tip! why? because you don't need to! (and we love a business that cares about their employees!! *picture attached*) A review that's slightly overdue but better late than never! I visited Yeobo in June. I came here on a Sunday evening and it had a great atmosphere. If you're thinking you don't like gluten free Korean-fusion food, well think again! Food/Drinks: 5/5. *This is not on their regular sandwich menu.* but if they are still on the evening menu, I recommend! I tried the cauliflower wings and meatball. Both extremely tasty! They also serve beer/wine. Service: 5/5 excellent service! extremely friendly and attentive. A quiet introvert like me enjoyed. Ambiance: a cozy chill place for dinner! I'm unsure how it is during their breakfast hours. *they also support other small businesses! I bought some cute stickers (we love community) I would follow their instagram to see their latest updates. Their breakfast sandwiches look really appetizing. I WILL be back and update my review for sandwiches!

Yelp
I stopped by Yeobo for a cafe event. It's a cute cafe that I've had bookmarked but had never gone out of my way to go to. I like that it has two levels so that there is space for people can hang out. I ended up getting one of the event drinks. It was a sweet potato latte. It was available hot and iced and because I was curious how it would taste iced, that's what I got. It mostly tasted like coffee to me which was fine but I wasn't in love with it. If I ever come back I'll definitely try something else. Only street parking seemed to be available which is never my favorite but it's a Seattle cafe.

Yelp
Ok, adorable place in Madison Valley, right on a bus line. Queer and API owned and operated, supporting API businesses during API month. Came by and tried the yummy drink that also comes with prosecco if you want the alcoholic version, we did the nonalcoholic and it was lovely. Space has K-pop playing and kdrama on the screens, two levels with a quaint space with books, puzzles, and board games, also offers space buy out M-F that's affordable pricing. They will start doing evenings as the summer hits and provide beers, wines, cocktails etc. food flys off the bakery shelves so be aware if you come by for a snack and drink :) Really lovely vibes and great customer service.

Yelp
Yeobo is simply incredible. My wife has celiac and it is a fully gluten free cafe that has some of the best breakfast sandwiches, other sandwiches and GF food items around! And they have GF beer and mocktails?! Amazing. The team is second to none and the owner has community in mind with everything they do. We love Yeobo and always enjoy being there every time we go.

Yelp
I'm going to be dreaming of these fried egg sandwiches until I'm back in Seattle. I think the best one I've ever had. And as someone with celiac, it's so meaningful to have an all-gf kitchen. Really cute space too.

Yelp
Still can't believe this place is completely gf! The flavor profile of the wakey wakey with the spicy pork belly and bun hit the spot. Loved the matcha orange Julius for something sweet wish I could eat here more often- definitely will be my new breakfast/ coffee meet up spot with the chill ambiance

Yelp
Came here looking for a good gluten free breakfast sandwich, but was disappointed as it was $11 for a egg and cheese sandwich on English muffin. I should have added a sauce they have and I wanted to add a protein, but they were completely out of all meats. Overall, the building was nice, the service was nice, but I don't think I will be coming back.

Yelp
I'm so excited that Yeobo has evening hours now too! In the morning, I love getting the vegan lemon foam on a cold brew matcha (or coffee) latte. If I'm a hurry, I go for some ready-to-go tofu or spam musubi and Thai tea tapioca cup with crunchy toasted coconut on top. In the evening, I've loved the cool, refreshing sencha citrus drink (non-alcoholic) that's on tap. (They've also got some alcoholic drinks that sounded tasty, I just haven't tried any yet.) The cold green citrus noodles were fantastic, especially the amazing creamy sweet little cippolini onions that are pickled in-house. I also got both the dry rub and buffalo sauce cauliflower wings and they were incredible too -- so flavorful and cooked to the absolute perfect texture. The staff are warm, friendly, and helpful, and the space is incredibly relaxing, comfortable, and welcoming. They've got books and puzzles if that's your jam plus a Monday night crafts get-together. Fully gluten-free, super-creative and super-tasty Korean-American food, deeply queer-friendly -- Mars and the team have really poured their hearts into creating an amazing oasis for the community to enjoy.
