Nut allergy friendly: The staff here were very courteous in checking for me and making sure there were no nuts in what we ordered or the banchan. We arrived here at 2:30PM on a Sunday and it was quite empty - we might have been the only table for the hour or so that we were here. Promptly seated and both of us went with the AYCE option as we were excited to do meats on the charcoal grill. We were served relatively quickly (banchan in ~10 minutes and meats came right afterwards). For two people, we started off with the brisket, pork belly, and bulgogi. The brisket and pork belly cook on one style of grill and then they swap it out for when you cook the bulgogi. The same style of grill can be used to cook the pork short rib, which is what we ordered fourth. For our fifth and last order we swapped back for the brisket. Banchan and water refills came quickly whenever we asked, and they swapped out for fresh charcoal once as well. Overall, the style of Korean barbecue here is quite different than other places I've been. There's less emphasis on sauces and more on the charcoal flavor of the grilling. Presentation is excellent. The dipping sauces add a bit of flavor but nothing too saucy. I suggest going longer than you think for the pork belly to get it extra crispy. The pork short rib also takes the longest, and is thick so you have to be careful to fully cooked through (don't start with the short rib if you're hungry). The banchan are decent here, nothing too spiced or crazy but I enjoyed the pickled vegetables. The tofu soup (soon dooboo) was also nicely spiced and was a great thing to have between meats. Overall, excellent service and a really good presentation for self-cooking Korean barbecue. Very reasonable price of $35/person for AYCE. Would definitely come back.

Sides were okay but main dish was too sweet, we ordered Bul-Oh-Jeongol. We went there for Sunday dinner and the place was very quiet.

Wow, such great food! We did the all you can eat BBQ and it was so good. All the sides, salad and soup...food coma, in the best way. We will definitely be back!

If you want some serious food coma then order from the all you can eat menu. It starts at $35 per person. My boyfriend discovered this place and kept raving about it to me. After returning to the country he took me here and I was not disappointed. Living in Seattle is expensive and finding a gem that gives you a good bang for your buck is hard. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends. Our server was so lovely. She remembered my boyfriend and his son, but also recognized that I might be the girlfriend he was talking about that was away on vacation. She was a pleasure to talk to and her service was much appreciated. A huge thanks to whoever was in the kitchen too. Everything was prepared very well and presented nicely.

I haven’t been here in awhile and the food and service gas not changed. The quality has stayed the same and so did the portion sizes. The customer service here is absolutely fantastic and they did a great job well done. The restaurant reminded me of the one I used to work at back home and tastes very similar. I am glad this place uses char coal for the grill. It makes the meat tastes absolutely different and tastes amazing. I really like how they set up the restaurant. It is nothing too crazy. It is simple and not crazy bedazzled. I am looking forward to do my birthday dinner here and bring my friends and have them experience what kbbq should be. Thank you Old Village and I will be looking forward to seeing you again

The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The staff's friendliness is outstanding. Furthermore, the owner says they don't use any MSG, only sincerity in creating the flavor.

Charcoal grills. Has à la carte and AYCE menus. Great service and they keep an eye on your grill and charcoal levels. Also have an extensive array of cooked dishes. Lots of space.

Google
Don't order their seafood, not even their seafood hot pot. We ordered the seafood hot pot, the fish, the crab were pretty bad. But if those seafood where used only for adding flavor to the broth , it's good. If you want to eat the seafood inside the pot, it's pretty disappointed. Their service is good, the restaurant provides lots of delicious dishes on the menu, however I think they can improve their food with better quality of meats.

Yelp
Excellent! The place is open and has new owners. I would highly recommend it as your go to Korean bbq place! The banchan, meats, pancake, etc are all great and so tasty! The staff is really nice and works hard. There's a lot of space for a big party or small.

Yelp
We had a really nice meal! After a long day of holiday shopping we were READY for some Korean BBQ. We had a different restaurant picked out but they had a one hour wait time so we came here instead. So glad we did! Ordered the 3 meat meal with cold noodle soup. Meat portions were VERY GENEROUS! Good quality too! We had the brisket, marinaded beef short rib, and spicy pork. The 4 of us couldn't finish it all! The sides they had were really good too! One of the freebie sides was garlic "studs" or stems. I had never had them and they were delicious. Their prices are also very reasonable. Loved that they use charcoal on the BBQ grills, something you don't see in WA. Only reason this wasn't a 5 star meal was the service could have been more attentive. It wasn't bad, but if you are looking for a place with lots of attention you could be disappointed. But for a great meal at a very fair price this is a winner.

Yelp
We Had the short ribs and rib eye for bbq. And had the white bean paste soup. the meal and banchan were all very delicious including the recommended Korean Krush beer. Only down side was that restaurant was really cold inside. They were mindful and tried to Seat us in a warmer part of restaurant. We used to come more often when we lived closer by. They used to provide more lettuce leads to make a meat and rice wrap. We didn't ask about this but restaurant was very friendly to offer more of the banchan items that we finished. We enjoyed our meal and would recommend.

Yelp
I love this place!! The only real charcoal grill in town! This is my 6th time dinning BBQ there. Always satisfied with the food! Excellent food tasty and fresh. Service not so great. Nice quiet ambiance. I highly recommend this place for Tasty Korean real charcoal grill!! I hope this restaurant stays in business for many years to come. We will be back real soon!

Yelp
We came here on Labor Day when we found many of the other restaurants were closed. It had been years since the last time I came, and I noticed now they had added a sushi bar and menu. As we knew Old Village was famous for its Korean BBQ, we ordered BBQ combo of 3 so we could enjoy both pork and beef, and the soft tofu soup that came with the combo. We also ordered a seafood pancake that was crusty on the outside and delicious. Our server was not super friendly or attentive. She started grilling the meat for us, but eventually she stopped, and we had to grill on our own. We also had to walk over to the other side of the restaurant to find her to order another bottle of soju and another round of side dishes. The restaurant was quite empty at the time, with only few tables of customers. Nonetheless, we still enjoyed the spacious seating and the well-priced food.

Yelp
It's one of the few places that actually use charcoal for Korean BBQ. the new AYCE is great, and the price and service are great. It's one of my top picks for Korean BBQ with charcoal.

Yelp
Food is very bland, even the soup and the side dishes taste are super bland, I have never been to a Korean place where food is very tasteless. Service is good, place is clean and not busy at all. Has a parking lot.

Yelp
I usually review KBBQ places in tandem as 1) it's my comfort food & 2) I don't mind putting in the drive if the place is good (i.e. mostly in Federal Way). I had high hopes for Old Village to be a nearby favorite spot but it didn't check off a few major points. For the amount/quality of food & location, $140 (with tips) for 2 is a hefty price level that is difficult to invite returns. The non-marinated meat options tasted bland even with dipping sauces. Some of the side dishes were quite unique & sadly didn't complement the meats (e.g. the pickled stuff didn't taste sour enough, kimchi was sadly bland & not spicy, etc.) What salvaged the experience was customer service. Our server was attentive & helped us grill throughout our stay, though I was not opposed to doing it myself. Never once did I feel rushed. Another minor suggestion is the big vent in the middle. Though I understand the utility & effectiveness of it, its sheer size & position felt uninviting as it was hovering in front of us & blocked the view of the opposite bench. It could take away from a date experience. Feels as if it was over accommodating - owner should trust that folks who like KBBQ won't mind the grill smell; it's part of the experience!

Yelp
Both food and service needs to be improved. Looks like this place had changed owner and running by a couple now. They were not generous with providing good service along with quality food. We went for AYCE and they seem unfriendly with reordering but isn't that what AYCE is all about? Plus we only ordered second round. Each round, you get a choice of 3 meats, second round they only give you a third of the portion and you can sense the attitude wasn't welcoming then. The meat quality changed on the second time as well so we stop ordering even we have room for more as we have a big group. We would not return anymore and there's other better bbq choices in this area.

Yelp
Something is changed ... in a good way! It seems more like pre-pandemic time. We tried something called "ripen and seared" on the menu. It turned out to be pork belly that is aged and pre-seared. And it was cut little bit thicker than usual which made it easier to cook it crispy outside and juicy inside. That was my best pork belly experience ever.

Yelp
Recommended by a Korean friend of ours and it definitely didn't let us down. We had a couple of different meats to grill (beef and spicy pork), plus a seafood pancake and an order of Daeji Soondooboo. I'm a big fan of Dooboo soups, and theirs was excellent and tasty. Only complaint was that it could have been spicier--looks like they were accommodating the Northwest palate--but that's easy to resolve in the future: they'll make it to any spice level, at request. The spicy pork was phenomenal as well, and the seafood pancake was equally tasty. All-in-all a great meal, and a great find. I'll be back!!

Yelp
TL;DR: The price we paid for our meal was overly inflated for what we got. I am unlikely to come again due to how overpriced this meal was. Value - 1/5 We paid ~$160 for 2 people. This rating holds most of the weight for our overall review. The price for our dining experience was absolutely not worth it. If the price was half of what we paid, I would give 2.5/5, but I cannot overstate how overvalued this meal was. For reference, we find our experience at Grill King in Shoreline to be significantly better, at a better price point (~$30/person) Food - 2.5/5 We got the BBQ 3 meat selection and a seafood pancake. The food was fine, but the quality was nothing significant. Service - 3/5 Service was mostly fine. It was unclear if they intended to cook for us or if we were supposed to cooked ourselves. When they brought the meat, they started off the cooking, but were inconsistent to attend the cooking. If we had not started cooking ourselves, the meat would have been overcooked/burned. Notes: - They no longer have All You Can Eat - Parking: restaurant is located in a plaza with ample parking in front

Yelp
Food was quality, has our favorite server! She's the sweetest and takes great care of us every time. One of the few places that does charcoal grill, we've always had a great time here!

Yelp
First off i'd like to say thank you to the staff for being so accommodating to us and our child. This restaurant is great we had the all you can eat BBQ and it did not disappoint. Super clean restaurant, very friendly staff, great atmosphere, and delicious food couldn't ask for more.

Yelp
The quality and taste of the BBQ meat is very good. The sauces are very tasty, you if you like some spicy sauce with your meat, you're in luck. The service is good too, they were able to give us extra Kimchi and sauces for our table. The ambiance is fun and chill. A good place to hang out with friends. The price of the meat is a little expensive for the quantity and expectation.

Yelp
This is a good Korean BBQ restaurant. It's a huge space (far bigger than it looks from the outside). They have grills at (almost) every table, and they use lump charcoal for cooking (started with a natural gas fire until hot), which many places have abandoned. This make the meat taste so much better. And the vent fans here are really good. We did not even smell like a campfire afterwards. All the meat was good, and they even offer ribeye. Spicing was nice on everything we had. The sides are a little weak in that there are far fewer of them compared to many places. My biggest complaint here is the price and meat portion size for that price. It's not an all-you-want-to-eat-meat place. That has one advantage--you are welcome to take any leftovers. But you probably won't have any leftovers because the portions are small compared to most Korean BBQ places. And the prices per order are about the same as you would pay at the all-you-want-to-eat-meat places. So, that makes this place pricey. Sides are free refills--for one refill. If you order thirds on any side, then they charge you for it. That seems like kind of a cheap nickel and dime approach, especially when the meat is so expensive. Boo on them for that (and minus half a star). Would we return? Yes. But we'd do so knowing what we were getting into as far as price to quantity ratio.

Yelp
Review for new menu after Covid... They were closed in April. Now they're reopened. Waitress didn't wear mask. When confronted by the table of customers next to us, she still didn't comply with current Washington state laws to wear masks. There were children in the restaurant :( Food went down in quality after new menu. Soft tofu stew is not seafood/you can't pick the flavor anymore if you order the combo. It came veggie flavor...cheaper and a little more bland. They only give 4 sides. It use to be 6+ delicious sides. Now it's the most basic and bland 4. I don't know how a Korean restaurant could have this little banchan. 4 is unacceptable. They do not state anywhere lunch prices doesn't apply to weekends (yet.) A table nearby us ordered all you can eat and it was $10 more expensive than expected. They were right actually, the menu did not say weekend lunch prices were are all dinner prices. The waitress continue arguing with the customer that it was not her fault and they should have known. It was awkward for our table to listen to it. Really dampened the mood. Where is management? Where is the owner because operations wise, this place is a mess. There's been 3 new menu updates and when we went, another new menu we haven't seen before. Much less selection overall from the old menu. What a mess. We gave this place lots of chances but right now, I rather support FilAm or Hae Nam.

Yelp
Sorry to say that if you are reading this, please stay away. While the meat quality and cuts are good, the service is very inconsistent. We had a hard time getting proper seating and received a very poor explanation of the menu (a la carte vs all you can eat). The hostess brought over some pork belly and said she needed to adjust the fan, and black liquid fell from the fan onto our food. The items were quickly replaced but the whole situation was not handled well. Never received the fork for our kid, and there was no preparation to ensure the grill worked properly. No thanks!

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place gets a lot of negative reviews. My experience here has been mostly great. The meat here is excellent, and we have no complaints in that department. The vegetables they serve on the side can be improved, and my (actual)korean friends say the banchan needs work. I'm not sure if it's because we visit here late at night, but service has been OK so far. It's quiet and dark, which is perfect for us. Give them a try!

Yelp
We came in right when they opened at 4 pm. The service was quite prompt and the servers were friendly. Now for the food, we chose the 3 meat selection (fresh rib eye, marinated beef short rib, and spicy pork), which came with soup and salad. We also ordered an appetizer, kimchi bindae tuck. The restaurant well maintained, and the bathroom was clean. Definitely the amount of food we ordered was good for 4 people, hubby and I waddled out by the time we were done . Overall, we will be back again, with the huddle . Sit, talk, and enjoy. What's the rush when you have to bbq over a small charcoal grill at the table?

Yelp
One of the best Korean restaurant I tried. foods are so yummy and the service is great. I recommended seafood pancake, marinated short ribs, thin pork slide and hot tofu soup. The server was super nice and we had soju with the BBQ which was delicious

Yelp
I came here once when I first moved to Seattle, which was probably 11 years ago. I recalled not feeling too ecstatic at the time but might be more because I was a super broke student back then and the prices didn't appeal to my wallet haha. We came here for dinner last night and I was surprised seeing the work that they had done to the place. It used to look pretty standard and outdated, but this place looks really hip and alive now. When we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by the smell of food and smoke from all the bbq tables, which I wasn't too thrilled about since I was just fresh out of shower lol. A really friendly woman greeted us at the door and asked if we wanted to sit at a BBQ table but told us that they had a non-BBQ grill table open right now and that we could still order their BBQ items and they'll just cook for us in the kitchen. As we were starving, we immediately agreed to that. The place is dimly lit and their menu was a little hard to read in the lighting - or maybe my eyes are simply just going (RIP my eyes). I ordered their Seafood Korean Pancake or starter (but they call it Korean Pizza in their menu which I did find confusing). My husband ordered his must-have Kimchi Tofu Soup with Pork but he requested the soup to not come with any kimchi. When his soup came, the server who took our order hurriedly came to our table to check if his soup had any kimchi or not. While he was still busy umm-ing to that question, she already spotted some kimchi in the soup and quickly took the soup away, saying they'd do it right. That was an amazing preemptive effort which was very much appreciated. The second time the soup came, it was perfect and my husband was a happy camper who drank it up. You get 6 banchans here. At the time of our visit we got kimchi, tofu skin, bokchoy in gojuchang, broccolli with sesame-gojuchang sauce, bean sprouts, and one banchan I think was a white seaweed noodle salad. Like many other korean restaurants now, they brought the banchan out together with main dish. Fortunately we didn't have to wait too long for our dishes to come cause again, we were starving when we got here. For main dish, we ordered Marinated Boneless Galbi and Spicy BBQ Pork. Pricewise, having been to more korean restaurants around the area, I think that their prices are quite competitive. Specially if you compare to the other korean restaurant across the street. Also similar portion size. We enjoyed the Spicy BBQ Pork very much, super flavorful and have that charcoal smell and taste. Can't really say the same thing about the Galbi, which is usually my favorite dish. I think the flavor could have been better and stronger. It was a little on the bland side. The staffs are super friendly. The older woman came to our table to check up on us twice to really make sure everything was to our liking. Overall, the food is quite good, the ambience in the restaurant is lively and enjoyable although I'm not a fan of the smoke-filled air. Our bill came to about $85 for two people so I'm not gonna say it's cheap either but still comparable to the competitor in the area.

Yelp
This is the best Korean restaurant in Seattle, bar none. I am from LA and have family that live in K-town. The food is always solid and excellent here. The barbecue is great as are the soups. Revised tonight--came here with my kids. Had to wait to get seated. 4 very poor quality banchan, I mean it was cheap, vinegar, directed at the lowest common denominator, no one who has ever eaten Korean food before. The table next to me had old food that had not been bused. See picture.

Yelp
Huge place but it was empty when we get into this restaurant. We did BBQ with brisket, pork belly, and chicken. I went to many Korean restaurants and I found this place serves food differently to reduce food waste. Food was great service was absolutely awesome.

Helen L.

Yelp
My friend and I came here because it had the steam egg and cheese corn, but we found out once we got there, it's only available if we order two orders of pork combo for bbq, which was too much pork for my liking. Most combos were about $25, so for the brisket, we got about 10 pieces for $25, which I think it's pretty ridiculous. We also ordered galbi, and it was only like 8 pieces, and it didn't taste that good. I spent $160 for two people with too much pork belly and not enough beef. I wouldn't go back again, and I wouldn't recommend it either.

Gary L.

Yelp
Old Village, the old (sometimes forgotten) staple in North Seattle. It's not going to be the fanciest KBBQ meal you've ever had but it hits the spot at a decent price. The meat is good quality and I love that there's a squid option. I wish the banChan was better. Prices are high but equal or less than other KBBQ in the area
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
Love their seafood tofu soup the right amount of flavor an substance. Also their lunch combo was reasonably priced about $11-15 which incl tofu soup and one main dish whether it be grilled fish, grilled meat etc. we typically choose the grilled fish (a good size) and the beef short ribs which is what we ordered today. The side dishes that comes with are decent but not necessarily the best in terms of selection or flavor but the soup and main dishes are well seasoned and good size portioned. I do think that at least on this occasion the service was quite slow. There was only three tables with customers incl us, with an average of two folks per table so it surprised me it took well over 25+ mins for the dishes to arrive and no water or tea came until I requested much later. Maybe it was an off day I'm not sure.

Hj J.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. Not many places use real lump charcoal but this place does. Attentive staff and exceptional sides. The tofu soup is a great inclusion for the meats

Yelp
KBBQ!!! My friends and I wanted KBBQ where you grill the meat right at the table. We found this place and they use real charcoal (instead of gas) for grilling! This place is legit! They offer different kinds of KBBQ meat - from short ribs (from unmarinated, to LA galbi, to boneless), two kinds of pork belly, beef, spicy pork, spicy chicken, and more. They also offer other Korean entrees on the menu like soon dooboo (soft tofu soup), seafood pancake, nengmyun, and more! My friends and I were starving so we ordered a lot of food. We asked our amazing and friendly server questions about the different kinds of rib meat that they offered because there are like five different options and the descriptions aren't super helpful. She answered all our questions and based on what I told her I liked she recommended we order the marinated galbi with bone (which is the long strips with the huge piece of bone). We also wanted pork belly but they make you get a minimum of two orders for that. She said the pork belly was really good and recommended we get one order of the thick pork belly and one order of the thin pork belly. So we did that plus we ordered the seafood soft tofu soup and grilled fish combo. When you order the pork belly KBBQ, it comes on a special grill that includes corn and cheese, steamed egg, and kimchi, so all that stuff cooks at the same time! Our server helped us grill the pork belly first and checked on it for us and flipped the meat. It was sooooooo delicious! The corn and cheese was tasty. The parts where the corn and kimchi and egg are placed are shallow so they cook too quickly and can get burnt quickly. But still tasty! After we finished the pork belly, they changed the grill and then we started on the galbi/ribs! Omg this was so delicious too!!! Really tender and flavorful meat! The charcoal really makes a difference! We cooked the two bones it came with and I ate all the meat off of that too. The banchan was pretty basic: kimchi, radish/daikon, sprouts, fish cake, and pasta. Nothing amazing but still good to go with the meal. The menu says that they charge you for refilling the banchan a third time, which is a little weird, but they must've had problems with banchan waste before. The fish we ordered was just ok - a little dry. We also ordered a big bottle of Hite to share and that hit the spot! Overall, tasty food and great service! It's KBBQ so it's on the pricey side. I would come back here the next time I have a KBBQ craving!

I would give zero star if there is an option. Taste is so so yet price is ridiculously high. See attached receipt. All bbq orders are pretty much for only one person yet they are priced so high. $25 for 12 slides of beef tongue? Side dishes come with the main meal not before, and limited to 2 free refills. They charge $5 for the third refill. But the 7 of us even didn't ask for refill because they tasted bad. Normally you would expect the side dishes come before main dishes. They hold the side dishes so you don't have time to eat them before main dishes, so you eat less free dishes! Fire baby octopus is literally fried rice cake and cabbage. You can expect to eat one whole cabbage and 1lb of rice cake but 2 tiny little octopus. I didn't even see them at first. You need to dig through to find them. Will never come back again.

Yelp
Decided to come in after hiking in the north cascade. The meat was delicious and melts in your mouth. Really love the egg and corn cheese . The price is pretty reasonable for the quality of meat. The service was really good as well. They do stand there and cook the meat for you majority of the time .

Yelp
One of the few places that have charcoal grills. Food is good, service is ok. The vent was good so we didn't walk out smelling like smoke. It was disappointing when we got the ribeye steak, it was still frozen so we actually had to sit around and wait for it to thaw.. The price is on the higher side, a dinner for two came out over $200. I really just came here for the charcoal grill..but I'd probably go somewhere else if I were just trying to get a kbbq fix for a lot cheaper. Charcoal is good but not that good that I would have to pay so much more for it.

Yelp
If I can give 0 start I will. The LA short ribs are Too fat and the fat make the meat on fire. And my boyfriend got burnt. Can't even eat. There are five pieces and only two can eat the others are too fat. I've been waiting for ten minutes to just change a grill. The service is really not so good.

Yelp
A Seoulite's opinion here... I've been to several KBBQ places in Seattle but Old Village Korean Restaurant is the spot that reminded me most of the BBQ joints I went to in Seoul. Once you order, the wait staff will place charcoal under your grill which will add char to your meats. If you haven't had charcoal KBBQ, you HAVE to try it - it's a subtle yet significant difference. Especially with pork KBBQ, charcoal counteracts the "porky" aroma. Also, every order of KBBQ comes hot side with a complimentary corn cheese, grilled kimchi, and Korean style egg. It's a WIN combination! We got two orders of pork belly and sample cold noodles for two people. The pork belly was THICK, which is rare in Seattle. The thick cuts go really well with the variety of banchan (side dishes) and the noodles. If this your first time, definitely try their thick pork belly - it's a good first intro to charcoal KBBQ. Yes, the restaurant is on the pricier side but with all the banchan and complimentary hot sides, I'd easily say this is my favorite KBBQ place in Seattle!

Yelp
If you are looking for all you can eat kbbq you won't find it here, but if you are looking for good quality meats that you can cook over a charcoal grill then look no further!! Old village kind of gives me LA kbbq vibes with the dark modern interior (which I enjoy) and also because of the fact that they are the only restaurant in the area that offers charcoal grilling and serves up corn cheese, kimchi and egg atop the grill. Very Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong - if you know what I mean! This I believe is only offered when you get pork belly and when you do that there will be a two order minimum. I suggest ordering the thicker cut of pork because it's much better texture wise and also the thinner pork belly dries out very quickly if you aren't keeping an eye on it. If you aren't feeling like pork, get the marinated galbi with bone. The meat is super tender and with just the right amount of char is so damn delicious! Just don't forget to take it off before it burns! If you are feeling "adventurous" try the beef tongue! Besides the meat, the banchans are just ok. They also serve a small side salad but, don't expect a free refill. They charge 5 dollars if you want more which is NOT worth it because the amount of salad they give you is teeny! Appetizers are good. Get the spicy cold noodles to accompany that hot bbq. Also can't go wrong with some seafood dukbokki! Wings were good but overly sweet for my liking. The only app I recommend to stay away from is the steamed dumplings. They were so mushy. The texture was so weird. Borderline questionable. Service is a hit or miss. Sometimes they are super attentive, other times they are nowhere to be found. And if you didn't know, there is a bell at each table to get your servers attention (might be hidden.) FYI, enjoy your meal with some soju bombs!! I recommend peach or grapefruit to drop into some Hite!

Yelp
This place is wonderful! My third time here and can't believe I haven't been sooner! I've lived in shoreline for almost 3 years and just recently found this place late last year. The staff is very nice and even remembered me and my gf when we came back weeks later.

Yelp
Great Korean BBQ with charcoal option in the area! The staff is super friendly and helpful. They will help you with grilling the meat if needed. The meat are pretty fresh and high quality. The banchan, salad and soup is great too! It may be pricey since it's not all you can eat but it is worth it!

Yelp
I've been jonesing for some Korean BBQ all week so we were excited to hit this place up after a Husky game. It wasn't very crowded when we arrived which was great. We waited a bit to be seated and once we were is where things fell apart. The service was incredibly slow for the amount of people that were there. Most of the time someone else helped us instead of our waitress. The quantity of food vs price didn't align. I've been to a lot of bbq places and have spent way less. It was pretty disappointing. The marinades werent very flavorful. You got a bunch of little delicious pickled and kimchee sides as well as some rice which was a plus. We even had to ask for rice 3 times before we got it. The bbqs used real coal compared to the electric ones so you really had to watch over your food while you ate. I liked the slight char it gave the meat. Overall, I wasn't impressed with this place at all and probably won't be back. Its a shame as I love me some grilled meats!

Yelp
One of the few reviews of eateries that deserve attention . Old Village has had new owners since August and from my personal visits they are performing up to par. Good quality meats expertly marinated and efficient service. Most previous negative reviews were likely from previous management/ownership. Their menu seems to be reasonably priced for the quantity/quality. A combo choice of 3 different meats is only $100 (over $130 if ordered separately). Best of all their use of hardwood charcoal, used by professional grillers, says it all.

Yelp
My three friends and I came here at around 1:45 pm on a Saturday. When we were seated, the waiter told us that the restaurant would be closing at 2:30 pm for an hour and a half. With it being our first time at a KBBQ restaurant, we asked if we had enough time for All You Can Eat and if we would be required to leave exactly at 2:30. He assured us that we had enough time and that we could stay past 2:30 if needed. As we finished our first round of food at around 2:15, we asked if there was enough time for another round. He gladly took our order and asked us to pay right then and there, which we obliged. The clock struck 2:30 as we just threw the second order of meat on the grill. The waiter did not say anything as he passive aggressively just walked over and turned our grill off. We were very confused as he didn't say a word and just walked away. Then the waiter along with two other members of the wait staff came back, extremely angry, and were yelling at us to leave the restaurant. We all still had cooked meat, sides, and rice on our plates and literally in our mouths (not to mention the piles of half-cooked meats on the grill) as they rushed us out of the restaurant. That was, personally, the only time I've ever been kicked out of a restaurant mid-meal. Now, I understand that we knowingly sat down close to their mid-day closing time. However, we were led to believe that this wouldn't be an issue by our waiter. We feel tricked that we spent a premium of $150+ on "all you can eat" when, halfway through the meal, we get kicked out and can't even finish what's on our plates. It was a very surreal, negative experience that could have been avoided with more clear, upfront expectations about the restaurant's time constraints and a less abrasive wait staff.

Yelp
This review is a little bit overdue. But I was there a few months ago. My friend and I ordered the army ramen kimchi soup, some korean fried chicken wings, and pork belly bbq for 2 people. For 2 people we really over did it. But the food was really good. The chicken wings were sweet, spicy and crispy. The army soup was very big, enough for 4 people and they load it up with ramen, veggies, and sausage/ spam meat. For the pork belly they wouldn't let us order 1 serving, we had to order atleast 2 servings. The pork belly bbq combo comes with steamed egg, corn cheese and kimchi that gets grilled on the side along with the pork belly. Service was very friendly and helpful. They have lots of great dishes and we wanted to try everything that's why we went overboard with the food. Since their portions are big, I highly recommend peeps to come as groups, atleast 4 or more people.

Yelp
I have no idea why this restaurant only has an overall rating of 3.5 but we had a GREAT experience here. Old Village Korean is tucked away in a plaza undergoing construction so the exterior is currently unimpressive and we wouldn't have known to come if it hadn't been recommended by a friend. The interior is dark but sleek, with half of the restaurant as BBQ tables (for obvious reasons). It can get pretty expensive for a meal (a soon tofu + kalbi meal ran us about $20) but this is the only restaurant I've seen in Seattle with GAMJATANG aka PORK BONE SOUP (called Pork and Potato soup on menu). This delicious spicy, hearty soup used to be a staple Korean order for me until I moved here and could not find it anywhere in the city. I was a little too excited when I finally got to order it for the first time in years and it did not disappoint! We didn't try any of the BBQ options but I will definitely be back!
