"A stark contrast of colours, neon lights and retro patterns make the room unorthodox but welcoming. On the menu, you can find Shanghainese and Sichuanese classics like Qili Zhuang drunken chicken in wine lees, and Sichuan boiled fish. But novelty creations such as deep-fried soufflé meringue with mango custard filling are also worth trying. The creator’s sense of humour comes through in the cheeky drinks menu. Set menus are especially well priced." - Michelin Inspector

It’s fascinating to see the polarizing reviews of this doctor, it’s like you either love him or hate him. I personally had a good experience, and I wonder if the low reviews are just because of cultural differences. Dr. Jia, like many Chinese doctors I have seen in China and in the U.S., is very efficient. They may not have the typical long Q&A, small talks, that white doctors would provide but it doesn’t mean the quality of care is lessened. In fact, I love how efficient it is. In five minutes, I got all my answers and everything scheduled, and I’m out of the door. If you are new to your condition and need a 30-minute appointment to have all the basic questions answered, being thoroughly educated, and have your feelings soothed, perhaps this office is not for you. But if you already have been seeing a specialist for years, have an overall knowledge of your condition, and just want to get your needs met efficiently, this office is perfect. Again, It’s just my personal unprofessional opinion. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sub-par physician to be avoided. He rushed me through the appointment, cut me off constantly, did not ask about my medical or surgical history, and did not even do a physical exam. But he was able to recommend that he perform an endoscopy and ultrasound (which he seems to recommend to every patient). This place is like a procedure mill, find a better doctor.

Dear office staff, I am beyond grateful for the concern and attitude towards me I received from you. First, Dr. Yi Jia was very patient listening my complaints and symptoms about my health and from his report to me about, I noticed his professionalism. And his attitude towards clients is very different then I have seen at other offices, very humbled. And front desk ladies and assistants are very nice to clients and concerned. I am very happy with your service and help to improve my health conditions. May God bless all your works! And to other clients I would definitely recommend this office and encourage to come with confidence that people from this office will be in your best interest.

*Veterans beware* went to this practice for a C&P and every horror story you hear about examiners lying to your face, on your paperwork and destroying your claims all exist in this one doctor. If you get him I highly suggest requesting a different examiner

Dr Jia is the best gastroenterologist I’ve ever had. I’ve been to a number of gastroenterologist over the past 15 years. Dr. Jia is the first doctor to ever address my condition and had me feeling better. As long I take my medications and follow his instructions I feel good. The minute I don’t I feel bad all over again. Now I only take meds when necessary. I’ve been sleeping much better than before. No longer refluxing in my sleep. He’s very professional , accurate and caring , He answers all of my questions and concerns. When I couldn’t make it to the office he called me. He doesn’t miss a beat. Always on top of things. I’m pleased with the care I’ve received at this office. The ladies at the front desk are always kind , supportive and friendly. They’ve never given me a bad attitude. I’m all around pleased with Dr. Jia and his staff . The Anesthesiologist is a good friendly professional doctor as well. I trust them all with my care . I highly recommend Dr. Jia. I’m thankful !

As someone who is training to BECOME a doctor-stay away from this place. The number of unethical practices here absolutely shocked me to my core. I’ll be reporting them to the state. Beyond ever explaining what the prep for a colonoscopy would be like, the many many unethical things they did included- 1. Trying to get me to sign the consent form BEFORE I EVER SPOKE TO THE DOCTORS. 2. Refusing to let me obtain my pa the okgoy report because it’s against “office policy” when they’re mandated by New York State LAW to give reports to patients. 3. They had me sign all consent forms AFTER THE PROCEUDRE WAS ALREADY DONE. 4. Lack of monitoring full vitals including 3 lead ekg and supplental oxygen during anesthesia. The anesthesiologist didn’t even ASK me what meds I’m on and I’m on quite a few that could’ve impacted sedation. 5. They rush you right out of recovery. I tried to ask Dr. jia a few questions and he threw out a couple buzzwords like precancerous polyps and miscrosoclic colitis, and then started BACKING OUT OF THE ROOM. This doctor does upwards of 50 procedures a day. The recovery room has no supplental oxygen, the bathrooms are unsanitary and open to other works in the building. Do NOT ever go here.

I have been a patient at this office multiple times, and I appreciate Dr. Jia’s professionalism and attentiveness. However, I was disappointed during my last visit on Saturday and during a phone call today because of the rudeness of the receptionist. On Saturday, she refused to let me write down the details of my next appointment and suggested that I Google the Weill Cornell Imaging number to make an appointment for a CT scan, refusing to provide one herself. When I called today, she was equally unhelpful and dismissive of my questions. I hope this issue is addressed soon, as I no longer feel comfortable returning to this office.
