Yi Fang Fruit Tea Expands to U District - Eater Seattle

"Yi Fang Fruit Tea — the popular chain based in Taiwan, with locations in Atlanta, New York, Toronto, London, and other cities around the world — recently opened a new outpost Seattle’s U District on the Ave, weeks after opening one in Lynnwood’s Alderwood Mall. Known best for its fruit-based boba (Eater has a handy rundown here), Yi Fang attempts to set itself apart from the pack by avoiding artificial powders and juices in its drinks, relying on house-made organic sugar and seasonal fruits for its concoctions. Among the different bubble tea options at the Seattle shops are kumquat, green plum, and aiyu jelly lemon." - Gabe Guarente

No ice adjustments, bad quality. Matcha was very bitter and unpleasant as someone who enjoys unsweetened Japanese matcha. I ordered a brown sugar matcha boba. As other reviews have detailed, YiFang really needs to improve the flavor of their milk tea and matcha. I got the regular matcha and here is a side by side comparison of the YiFang matcha with Starbucks. Starbucks is not even a very high quality itself but Yifang falls far below even that. You can tell visually that the quality of the drink is poor, and since ice was unadjustable, I ended up with a drink that was overly sweet even at 30% sugar, bitter, dusty, and watery (as the drink was mostly melted ice). As a matcha lover Yifang is not the place to visit.

Google
Really nice selection of bubble tea options with a large variety of fruit teas. Tea runs sweet, even 50% sugar. I do miss the strawberry tea with chocolate jelly that is no longer on the menu.

Google
Yifang has GREAT fruit tea, but milk tea, not really. The boba pearls are very good though. Here's what I have tried so far: Matcha brown sugar boba latte: 2/10 Matcha was very gritty and bitter and not at all like the picture, muddy colored and definitely very cheap matcha. Other locations have better quality. If you are used to Starbucks quality matcha (which is also unsweetened) for instance, this is orders of quality below that in terms of taste. Milk tea: 5/10 Nice mellow black tea but way too much creamer. I noticed they just spoon many tablespoons of coffeemate creamer into the cup, which is not healthy (which i know is common at most boba shops) but their milk tea was lackluster at best, and too creamy. Fruit tea: 9.5/10 Very refreshing and the best flavor so far. Sometimes the apple chunks are too big to drink through the straw though. The sugar is very high also, even at 30% sugar sweeter than most places and almost unpleasantly so. Dont get this with boba btw since the crunchy passionfruit seeds clash with the soft boba.

Google
Took so long (more than 30 mins). Along with that they didn’t get my order right. My friend’s drink order was also wrong. When I tried to ask for a refund because they were taking too long they avoided the customers by pretending to make drinks.

Google
Amazing! I had the peach fruit tea at 50% sweetness (the perfect amount) and it was delicious. The peach in the tea was clearly fresh and juicy, not artificial fruit preserves or anything. The tea was delicious. And for how much it cost? Amazing quality. Do not hesitate to go!

Google
I love fruit teas here ! Not overpriced like in many others places (Yi Fang and Passion fruit are my 2 favorites)

Google
I had the matcha pearl milk tea and I loved it. First time I am having a matcha drink. The matcha gave the drink a powdery feel, but that added to the allure of the drink for me. The ordering system is computerized and quick. The restaurant looks really clean too. There was a notice saying the big dine-in area is closed off. Overall, I recommend and would be coming back.

Google
If you order winter melon tea, makes sure to ask them to stir the container up, or test it before you leave the store, because this is the 2nd time my tea tastes like what lemon water tastes like, bland, with a hint of winter melon, and I even asked for no ice, regular sweetness.

Yelp
*toppings are extra, one size only, about $7/drink I'd say when we showed up on a Friday night it was relatively busy. We waited around 15 for to drinks since a family ordered before us. Got the sago instead of boba (less chewy and less sweet but similar mouth feel) with the mango smoothie and it was to die for ! 100% sweetness was not overly sweet and it had a real mango flavor. Smooth and not too thick consistency made it easy to drink. There's a ton of games to play while you wait and places to sit. It's a self order and only one screen. Overall bright and family friendly.

Yelp
I visited YiFang for the first time in Milpitas after a friend recommended it as one of their favorite boba shops. This was just a couple of months after the world came out of the Covid lockdowns, so while I received a drink that was honestly pretty bad, I thought that perhaps it was a one off issue. I was still hesitant on giving the UW location a try, but decided to head there anyways. This location has a huge screen right in front used to order. They charge an extra 30 cent fee for orders under $10 (displayed very prominently on the kiosk). Honestly I think the screen is way too big and very awkward to use. Earl Grey Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6) - This drink does not taste like Earl Grey at all. No hint of bergamot whatsoever. It's heavy on the creamer, not so heavy that it overwhelms everything else, but very noticeably on the creamy side. Taste-wise, it's either black tea rather than Earl Grey, or it's so watered down that all the bergamot flavor is gone. The creamer is not the issue. It *does* taste like black tea, a little hollow in fragrance, but it's there. On a positive note, half sweet is the definition of not-too-sweet and less ice is also pretty good, cooling the drink down entirely but leaving no ice chips at end. The boba is strangely rough on the exterior, with a bit of stickiness, but lots of microbumps that really stand out when moved across the tongue. There's a nice chew and a nice bounce, but that roughness feels a little off putting to me. In addition, some of the pearls tended to clump together into larger masses, making it a bit more difficult to separate and suck up the straw. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 I'll be honest - if I had ordered the black milk tea and gotten this drink, it would likely have been a 3.5/5. But I ordered the Earl Grey, and the drink I got tasted nothing like Earl Grey. I usually don't mention interior of the store in my reviews, but I have to say - this shop is filthy. Dirt all over the ground, random wooden pallets and boxes upon boxes of boba supplies past the seating area. It's almost like a warehouse. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for each gender.

Yelp
Came in with the thought that I'd be in and out in less than 10 mins, but it took 25 minutes for this one drink even though it wasn't busy. I saw online they had some pretty good options for hot tea(wanted the longan jujube) but they only offered ginger or ginger lemon which was disappointing. Ordered the ginger lemon in the end and it's alright. I wouldn't get it again. Their space is quite and the experience is contactless. There's a bit of seating inside and they have games as well.

Yelp
it's pretty good, standard boba that is not too sweet not artificial tasting. Tried the mango pomelo drink hoping for a rich mango sago dessert type of flavor, but was just normal.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
I gave this place a try a few times and unfortunately was left disappointed each time. You order on one of the self ordering big screens, and it comes out pretty quickly. Definitely do not get the taro boba here. The taro milk tea was basically straight milk with mashed taro at the bottom that came up the straw in chunks. The fruit teas were also pretty standard and nothing stood out to me. I also found their boba to be pretty inconsistent. One of the times I got a drink the boba was hard and another time it was way too mushy.
google avatar

Manushi Manish S.

Yelp
I initially tried this place in California and liked their mango pamelo sago. When I found it in Chinatown, the taste didn't disappoint. We also tried the taro sago drink; if you're a big taro fan, go for it, but otherwise, I recommend their mango taro.
google avatar

Yelp
At this YiFang location you have the ability to order with a cashier or submit your own order. I came in with a big-ish group, so we just each individually ordered through the self-checkout monitor they had to avoid holding up a line since it gave us more time to look over the menu. The little YiFang drink shaped egg waffles are so cute!
google avatar

Yelp
Worst Yifang location. Took 30 for my mango sago smoothie to be made and it was still made wrong. And the girl looked unhappy as if it was my fault they made my drink wrong. Unbelievably slow service.

Yelp
YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea is conveniently located next to Morsel while waiting for my order I decided to skip another cup of coffee and try a fruit tea. The ordering and customizing process is extremely easy as there is an electronic menu available to place and pay for your order. Customer service was ideal and my two teas were prepared within minutes. My 2 year old loves the YiFang fruit tea because it's filled with sliced apples. I greatly appreciate the ability to reduce or omit the sugar altogether my Grapefruit lemon tea was perfect. If you're in the area and enjoy refreshing tea filled with fresh fruit I highly recommend YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea!!

Yelp
Solid place for getting fruit teas in Seattle. Menu is straight-forward and has a good selection of tea drinks to chose from. I also like how clean it is on the inside. Not usually my go-to place for boba, but I do get cravings to go here once and a while.
google avatar

Yelp
The Fruit Tea here was very refreshing! I had the YiFang Fruit Tea - at first the little black seeds confused me, but they were kind of fun to crunch on. The fruit slices were fresh enough to want to eat after I finished drink the tea. Unfortunately, my friend was not a fan of the Taro Milk tea, so we'll stick to fruit teas moving forward (especially since it's in the shop name). Also, the paper straws are great for the environment, but were difficult to puncture the lids and disintegrated while trying to get to the add ons at the bottom.

Yelp
I have been meaning to post a review about this place, but I am so busy. I'm now leaving a review, because of close friends who have stopped going to Yi Fang and we've compared notes and here it is: Listen Folks! EVERYONE HAS TO LEAVE A TIP, whether you like it or not. Even if the the person serving you has a problem with whatever it is and decides to not even look at you while serving you, YOU STILL MUST LEAVE A TIP. There are NO other options. Their screen purposely does not have the No Tip option! Watch out for this non-existent No Tip option. You won't see it, because they took it out. They're the only place that does not have it. If you tap on "custom", YOU STILL HAVE TO LEAVE $1 tip. The owners DO NOT CARE that's why they rigged it so you have to tip. Their workers must be overworked that's why they have an attitude. It's like they don't want to work there lol and it shows. This is the ONLY establishment that is like this. Not the wonderful Boba Up! Or the boba milk tea place next to Trader Joe's on Roosevelt (you also get free garage parking.) Aside from the grouchy servers and the REQUIRED TIPPING, we did NOT find the boba drinks impressive. Boba Up! gives more, the servings are bigger, the service is fabulous and quick, and YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TIP and because of that you will want to give a very good tip each and every time! If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Yi Fang has been like this forever. Never coming back and I have been telling others to head on over to Boba Up or the one next to Trader Joe's (forgot the name), The Cat (forgot the exact name lol) near Mei Mei Chinese cafe, and Don't Yell at Me (fantastic - they won't be needing my help for another good review a solid 4.5/5.) No other place REQUIRES a customer to tip, except Yi Fang, where tipping is MANDATORY. What a shame. Their offerings are not even exceptionally good. Good job, owners! The required tipping is what makes you very unique. What a way to run a business. This is the only business that has this practice. Shame. The Bahn Mi place, Sizzle, that makes custom ordered sandwiches is not even like this. You lost our business forever lol And Please. We're not stupid. You purposely took out the No Tip option ok? So now it's our fault that we have to go through the "custom" option. Even at that screen it will say $1.00. You guys have no shame I tell you. There's nothing exceptional or so unique about your Bobas for us to return either. Cheats. How much do you charge for your products?? I'm so thankful that you are not the only Boba tea place around! "The IRS explains the main elements that distinguish tips from service charges by explaining what it takes in order to qualify as a tip: The customer can't be required to pay it. The customer gets to determine the amount. It's not the result of negotiations or decided by policy."(Dec 19, 2023)

Yelp
I had a strawberry tea with boba, half sugar. It was made within a minute after I ordered and was delicious.

Yelp
Milk tea is very disappointing. The place is nasty, floor, windows, tables... Very unwelcoming. The egg biscuits aren't worth getting for the price.

Yelp
My favorite drink is the Mango Pomelo Sago! It reminds me of the Hong Kong style dessert that I eat during the summer, but in smoothie form. Evidently, YiFang offers unique drink combinations and flavors. I'm curious to try other drinks on the menu, but they can be pricey depending on the drinks and toppings. I'd estimate about $5-$7 per drink. This particular location in University District is on NE 50th St and University Way NE. There is available back-in street parking. During this COVID-19 pandemic, indoor seating is closed, so I recommend ordering online in advance to avoid waiting as this place can be busy since it's in the University District. I was told by workers to avoid using the OrderToGo platform as they're phasing it out at this location. If you visit the YiFang Pacific Northwest Website, this is the link they have for online ordering.

Yelp
Got a hot fruit tea with actual fruit AND boba! Really yummy. The person who took my order was patient & helped me figure out / customize my drink. The kiosk didn't have the hot drink I wanted. Also got the mini egg pancakes in the shape of bubble tea drinks. Super cute! The pancakes take longer to come out than drinks. It was also surprisingly muggy / humid in the cafe... We sat inside for a while but it was nice to get outside for some fresh air. Overall, great quality & customer service!

Yelp
Note that YiFang IS OPEN during COVID for TAKEOUT. However, this review is for before COVID standards were enforced. YiFang deserves an update since my last review. In the months after opening, they have become more efficient with the ordering process. They're not super fast, but I only wait around 15 minutes now. They also make the brown sugar milk all day, instead of just after 3:30pm which is a huge plus. The brown sugar milk is definitely their best drink here; it's rich, creamy, and has a very strong brown sugar taste (even stronger than Ding Tea's Monster Latte). You can't adjust the sweetness though. Also the drink is around $6-$7 so it's definitely on the higher-end as far as pricing gies. Ive tried their Yakult Mountain Tea as well, but it was too florally and pineapple-tasting for my liking. I haven't been here since the virus outbreak, but my friends have been ordering drinks to-go here so I know that they are open. I just don't know what their safety procedures are and how well they are adhering to them now that King County is in Phase 2 of reopening. Overall: 3.5/5 for drinks, 3/5 for service

Yelp
Definitely not the best bubble tea I've ever had but it was not the worst. There are very few non-dairy options (3 to be exact per the cashier) and couldn't bring myself to guzzle down a ginormous drink with soy substitute (yuck). I got a hot oolong milk tea which were one of the three options that are made with non dairy creamer with pearls but was sorely disappointed when taking a first sip and realizing they used mini-pearls rather than the normal sized boba. Maybe next time I wull take a lactaid and venture for a whole milk one. I was most intrigued by the taro milk tea where the use real taro! Liked that you could customize the sugar levels but disappointed in the lack of non-whole milk choices. Wondering if anyone has tips on how to pierce the plastic with the compostable straws (when you leave your metal reusable one at home)?
google avatar

Julia K.

Yelp
I got their peach tea and loved it! It is pretty sweet so I would recommend to adjust the sweetness level if you don't like super sweet drinks. The ordering tablet was super convenient. However, the wait was incredibly long when there were less than 6 customers.

Yelp
Of all the bbt spots in Seattle, I have to say YiFang is my favorite. Their signature fruit tea is THE best I've ever had and their boba is always on point. They do tend to be on the sweeter side, but you can always adjust the sugar levels. Pretty much every drink I've had, I request 30% or 50% sugar and it's been perfect for my taste. The fruit tea is so fragrant and all of the various fresh fruits they add make is so refreshing. I also really enjoy their wintermelon and taro teas. Nothing I've tried from there taste like that gross powdery bbt stuff and I think the quality of ingredients they use is good. The only tea that was mediocre has been their mango sago, which didn't have too much flavor. We have tried all the various bbt spots that keep popping up on the ave and always end up going back to YiFang. They have good tea not gimmicky tea.
google avatar

Rikki G.

Yelp
Disappointed in this spot. I was excited to try Taiwanese boba tea but the Taro that I ordered was made with fruit extracts... orange colored ... not taro / Ube (look at the attached image). The pulp texture was just so overwhelming and unsatisfying. Overly priced $8 drink thrown away after the first sip. Just isn't my type of tea. Additionally, their efforts to mitigate covid was nonexistent. You place your order on a touch screen up front - it is not sanitized between each use and no hand sanitizer available for pre / after use. There is no signage to keep waiting guests distanced. The staff is safe and behind the counter passing drinks along but all waiting area guests are exposed.
google avatar

Aivy P.

Yelp
Not sure if it's just me or if yifang is known for making their drinks on the less sweet side, but both the drinks that my friend and I got at 100% sweetness weren't sweet. I got the taro sago drink and she got the brown sugar boba. Ordering was simple. You do it yourself on the large screen next to the register or at the register, there's also a screen to place your order on. No need for human interaction lol great for introverts.
google avatar

Tai D.

Yelp
YiFang is located a little further north up "the Ave" near Morsel. I was surprised to put in an order on a huge screen, which had a lot of photos of the drinks so that was helpful. I wasn't able to figure out how to adjust the sweetness using the ordering kiosk, but I guess I should have asked! I ended up just getting full sweetness and wow, yes, it was sweet. I had the Brown Sugar Pear Oolong Tea Latte. The boba was very brown sugary tasting! I liked it actually. I think I'd like this drink more if I had toned down the sugar to 50% or less. Overall, pretty good! I'll certainly be back to try a fruit tea, which is what they're well known for.
google avatar

Huong L.

Yelp
We went here when we were in the area and thought it was pretty standard. The fruit drink was good and it has really fresh fruits in there like apples, oranges, etc. The price of the drinks are a little on the higher end in my opinion. With all the bubble tea places in the area, its really hard to stand out and to me, this place was just standard. One nice thing though is that they use reusable straws
google avatar

Piko L.

Yelp
Delicious teas and beautiful presentation! Love the bilingual server, comfortable taking orders in Chinese and English, and she explained the drinks very clearly. And even though there was a long line, I got my tea relatively quick, and the first sip was heaven aaaaaaaa I love this place and will be coming back to try alll their fruit teas!!
google avatar

Arthur T.

Yelp
I always get passion fruit green tea wherever I go, so this was a taste test! The passion fruit green tea at YiFang is a little more fruity tasting, which was ok, but overall taste of tea and passion fruit didn't mix too well. There were a TON of seeds in the drink, and especially since the boba is small (which I wasn't expecting), it was kind of annoying to get a ton of crunch from the seeds. There's not too much seating inside, but the space is quite large for people to stand in. Not sure if I would be back getting the same drink, although other people I were with enjoyed their drinks. The boba here is also quite expensive, almost $6 a cup.

Yelp
Yum yum yummmm.....for anyone craving for something a bit different, I would suggest swinging by Yifang for some refreshing tea. Came here with my mom and overall, both of us enjoyed our teas. Wait time wasn't too long at all and for the quality of the ingredients used, this definitely feels like the slightly higher than average prices are justified. Teas tried: 1) Fruit Tea - loaded with freshly cut fruits, this tea was pretty refreshing. Got this at less ice and 50% sugar and it seem like a pretty good ratio. If you like your tea on the less sweet side, I think you can safely go with 30% sugar and still get a nice slightly sweet taste of this drink. 2) Honey Floral Tea - If you're more of a tea tea person, you can't go wrong with this option. Tea flavor was on point and at a regular sugar level, this drink itself wasn't overly sweet. Love the ratio of honey to tea and definitely would order this drink again. Pearls/Boba/Tapioca - YUMMYLICIOUS! These tiny little balls had the perfect chew, sweetness, and texture and is definitely the best I had so far in regards to the boba places in the U-District. Definitely worth the upcharge of $0.50. Located at the far end of the Ave, finding street parking here isn't too difficult. Can't wait to visit this place again and sample more teaaaaaa! Woot woot =)

Amy L.

Yelp
I ordered the grass jelly juice with grass jelly and to best describe it, tasted just like the jelly but it liquid form lol. My comment about this place is the plastic to cover the drink. It was too thick that it took me two hard pokes to get it through.
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
I used to be one of those people who would gawk at the constant long lines in front of YiFang wondering how good tea had to be to justify that line. The BF & I finally stopped by after a leisurely walk, and yeah, I get it now. Their fruit tea is where it's AT, bar none. It's remarkably better quality and taste compared to similar shops, and honestly it makes me a little sad thinking about the artificially flavored boba I was surrounded by in my college years.
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
WOW! No wonder people were so excited about the opening of this place! I got to try the two most popular drinks and they seriously did NOT disappoint! The special brown sugar pearl milk is absolutely to die for! They only serve this special drink at two times starting at 3pm and 7pm so make sure to stop by those times if you can! This drink also looks super sweet but TRUST it's not and it's the perfect sugar amount! I also tried the Yi fang fruit tea and super yummy and refreshing. The perfect drink for summer!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
This is such a cute bubble tea shop in the International District. We got the mixed fruit tea and it was slightly too sweet even though we got it with 50% sugar.
google avatar

Arlene S.

Yelp
I decided to get a taro sago drink. I was expecting the taro to be blended with the drink so 50% of it was pretty bland and I'm just sipping on the milk. I like the actual taro pieces and the sago inside the drink. I ordered it hot but the taro and sago were cold which made the drink cold. I love the fruit tea but a bit disappointed with this order.
google avatar

Krystal L.

Yelp
I tried this place out closing to when they first opened and yes, I waited in line to try these teas. The signature fruit tea is actually really yummy AND a huge plus that you get to eat some fruit after you are finished with your drink. One thing is the other fruit teas weren't GREAT. I had the pineapple tea and I wouldn't recommend it as it just tasted like pineapple juice mixed with some tea.
google avatar

Jacques I.

Yelp
I visited YiFang Taiwan Fruit Tea and in the area, and was sadly disappointed by my order. Located in the University District, this is a popular tea shop, so the line upfront can feel long with the check out area being crammed. But the seating area inside was spacious and inviting. I ordered the Oolong Macchiato, which didn't take long to get. I love oolong tea, yet unfortunately, was disappointed by the lack of oolong tea flavor. It tasted really watered down, and the creama foam was not thick. I would not get this tea again. I've heard such positive words about YiFang, so perhaps I would give it a try if in the area again. But I can't say I'd recommend the oolong macchiato.
google avatar

Hui-yu Y.

Yelp
- Decent tea, less sweet than most places- We got here when it opened on Friday, and we ordered first. However, there is no brown sugar bubble tea until 3pm, so that was disappointing. We ordered two tea latte (one with mini pearl and one with grass jelly) with 30% sugar and no ice. We got our drink after 5 min wait, and apparently there is a way to poke through the plastic cover for the drinks(there is an instruction sign somewhere in store). I just kinda brute forced it and it worked. The tea taste different and it is refreshing. I like Sun moon black tea since i was there back in March this year, but i would say it is still not as good as what you would get locally in Taiwan. The grass jelly is more firm than other places and have a good texture, the mini boba don't have much taste. Overall i would say raise one sugar level here since they use less sugar than most places. I am rarely here if not for the car maintenace, but it is worth coming here for. However, there are still some new bubble tea places on the Ave that i havent tried, so the probability of me coming here again is slim. PS. They need to fix their audio system. It was lagging and stuff, not sure if it is their wifi or what...

Yegee L.

Yelp
I've previously ordered the fresh fruit tea from here and wasn't super impressed. I think fresh fruit tea is just not my thing. The second time I visited though I ordered a pineapple mountain tea with almond jelly. It's quite possibly the best bubble tea drink I've ever had. The pineapple flavor isn't too strong and the almond jelly has a nice nutty flavor that seeps into the rest of the drink. It's not too sweet either. I really enjoyed the drink and the almond jelly was surprisingly good. I want another one just thinking about it

Yelp
I can see what the big hype is about Yi Fang Tea... but I personally don't agree with it. But YiFang Tea has been branching out along the PNW for the past couple years now, and they've finally come to Ave. Now my opinion is what it is, JUST an opinion. I've had their fruit tea in Vancouver and it was okay. First off I'm a coffee drinker. But I do like all types of tea. Bubble Tea/Boba joints have been opening along and around the Ave steadily for the past 4 years. YiFang is trying to bring old-fashioned Taiwanese premium tea made with real ingredients to North America. Great. I tried their Salted Cream Oolong Tea (aka Oolong Macchiato)... don't think I'll order it again. I think my expectations were higher then they should have been. I hear you, "YiFang is known for their Fruit Tea. Why didn't you order that?" Honest answer, I just wasn't feeling it. Again I did try a fruit tea back in Vancouver... but it was passable at best. But hey, if you like it then that great! If you haven't tried it, then you should go see for yourself if its right for you. Happy sipping!

Yelp
Solid boba, especially the fruit teas. Definitely on the sweeter side even if you get less sugar.
google avatar

Yelp
Drank this on a hot say. So good! I sure do wish the taro has more taste to it (or a little thicker). Fruit tea was good, but the pearls were small.

Yelp
Yifang Fruit Tea $5.75 for large: It was alright. Definitely drinkable, but don't think I'll find myself craving it in the future. Brown Sugar Soft Pearl Tea Latte $5.75 for large: I only tried a sip, but didn't really like it. I do go for fruity teas though. I just wanted to mention it for the photo, and say my boyfriend really liked it and raved about the boba. The boba is only made fresh at 3 PM and 7 PM or something like that. We got there about 7:30 PM on a Saturday so we had good timing. I'm unsure if this sells out between those periods. ***** My Star Ratings: 1 Star - Terrible. Just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars - Meh. Unlikely for me to return. 3 Stars - OK. Open to coming back, but wouldn't go out of my way to. 4 Stars - Yummy! Will definitely return if I haven't already. 5 Stars - AMAZING!!! Would plan my day or even a trip around eating here.

Yelp
YiFang is famous in Taiwan for their fresh fruit teas (as you might've guessed), so I was elated to see one opening in Redmond! The Eastside rarely gets any boba love compared to Seattle. We've already tried 6 of their drinks despite them recently opening, all great. I used to have to go all the way up to Alderwood mall for the their authentic teas, but no more! This location even has a convenient pick-up/drive-up window. If you haven't tried this place and need a reference, it's at the level of, if not better than, Happy Lemon but with a focus on fresh fruit flavors and ingredients. Fruit teas can be on the sweeter side. I recommend customizing them with 50%-70% sugar.

Yelp
One of the better boba places on the ave! Lots of seating to hang out with friends (before COVID at least) and actually authentic milk tea. Their fruit teas are honestly my favorite and they have a lot of options. This place isn't the greatest with just regular milk tea flavors though, so if that's what you're looking for I suggest going some place else! Otherwise, 5/5 stars!

Yelp
Eh - thought I was getting a taro smoothie bubble tea, but got a taro latte with chunks of taro instead. Pretty gross and I tried them during quarantine, trying to support local businesses.

Yelp
Came in on a rainy day to try out this YiFang location! I've been to others in Taiwan and in Southern California before but not in Seattle. The interior is very similar to other locations - very minimal and cute. They had an all self serve electronic ordering system with 2 screens, which I personally thought was super easy to use. They also had little egg cakes with different filling options in the shape of a YiFang cup, which I had not seen before. It was so cute! I got the original flavor, which kind of just tasted like pancakes, so I would recommend trying a filled one. I also got a winter melon tea with grass jelly, which was delicious. There was zero wait and everything came out quickly. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I usually go to the location at the Alderwood mall, but since it's close this location is still open for take out. I love their drink especially my classic favorite, which is the "Grass Jelly Milk Tea." I mean there are tons of other flavor or specialty to choose from. I just like to stick to the same, just personal preference. Decent price and friendly service. Give them a try! :)

Yelp
I really liked their milk tea! I've been to the YiFang in Taipei and while this one doesn't quite live up to the original, it gets close. The brown sugar boba was really good and it's hard to find this in Seattle. The boba sits at the bottom initially and is very hot, but it was a bit hard to stir and it felt like the boba to milk ratio was a little bit off. The stand out was the brown sugar oolong milk tea. This was very refreshing and the oolong blended well with the brown sugar.

Yelp
This place is bombbbbbbb and authentic. I ordered yi fung fruit tea and it was really refreshing. I am not sure if everyone likes to drink fruit seeds but it was so crunchy! I loved the texture. I got 50% sweetness and it was perfect for me. I def wanna come back later to try other flavors.

Yelp
YiFang is a great place to stop by after your visit at the farmers market or a meal at Morsels (it's right next door). Their menu has a plethora of options ranging from fruit teas, smoothies and milk teas. You are able to customize your drinks by adding extra toppings for an additional charge, adjusting your ice level and sweetness level too. I appreciate when boba shops give their customers that option since I like to adjust my sweetness level less than 70%. Got to try their milk tea with boba on this visit. I'll be back to try their other yummy drinks!

Yelp
Every time I'm in this area, I get so depressed at how old I am compared to everybody walking here on the Ave. Like I'm not ancient or anything, but college days was once upon a time ago. These kids are so lucky to have great shops popping up these days like YiFang. Back in the days, Oasis was your only option for boba, and we didn't realized how terrible it was until better places opened up. Drove here from Bellevue just to try it out since this is closer than their Lynnwood location. They use real fruits for their fruit teas. I was impressed at how knowledgeable the cashier was in recommending me a drink and how much sugar/ice is the best result for each drink. I didn't notice until I started drinking my fresh fruit tea, ummm...are the seeds are the bottom drinkable or or you suppose to leave it alone because it definitely goes up the straw when you suck onto it? Lol. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)
