Yndo Hotel

"It’s obvious from its name alone that Yndo isn’t your classic Bordeaux hotel. Though it may look like a typical 19th-century Bordeaux chateau from the outside, don’t expect silk-lined walls and Louis XV furnishings: on the inside, YNDO is sleek, ultramodern and quirky to boot. It’s the kind of hotel Bordeaux has needed for a while—upscale yet playful, exclusive without being stuffy. There are only 12 rooms, which could be described as minimalist if not for their cosy furnishings and eclectic artwork. The communal spaces, with their perpetually lit fireplaces and soft velvet seating, beg to be lived in, while the hotel’s bar and restaurant beckon with an inventive seasonal menu and exciting wine list. Yndo (Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine) 4 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You might imagine you know what to expect from a 19th-century mansion hotel in Bordeaux, but Yndō Hotel’s unusual name might just be a clue that you’re in for a surprise. The exterior of this hotel particulier remains as traditional as ever, oriented as it is around a quiet central courtyard. Once you’ve ventured into the interior of the house, though, you’ll see what we mean — the architecture is still classic, but the interior design is totally contemporary, as is the hotel’s art collection." - Tablet Hotels

Yndo Hotel | Best places to stay in Bordeaux

"You will feel like an aristocrat in this beautiful mansion, complete with its own tower and pretty courtyard, now a five-star hotel in the historic heart of Bordeaux. Owner and designer Agnes Guiot has deftly combined the original panelling, ornate mouldings and parquet floors with striking and witty contemporary art and furnishings, such as accent chairs shaped like whales’ tales – while the dozen bedrooms (each with its own character) all have king-size beds, iPads loaded with a city guide and well-stocked minibars. It’s luxurious, welcoming and in a great location, on the fringes of the city’s elegant 18th-century Golden Triangle. Other pluses include free bikes for guests, a high-end restaurant focusing on seasonal ingredients and local wines, and warm staff for whom no request is too difficult. It’s expensive but worth it. We can’t say enough about the staff. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable from arrival, to parking our car, to helping us make winery and restaurant reservations, to making us comfortable and making suggestions. Romane was especially helpful. We felt like we were hanging out with friends. The property and furnishings were very nice. We were upgraded to the Crazy Room, which was very spacious and had a spa- like bathroom. This was greatly appreciated. The location was just a short walk from the town center. The only small issue was very weak or no WiFi. This would not keep us from coming back. We highly recommend this hotel with wonderful staff.

if you are looking for a small quiet hotel, this is for you. It is expensive, but it is very beautiful. We stayed in a "Crazy" room, and found it to be great apart from the toilet and the shower/sinks, were at opposite ends of the room. It is an old building, so that explains that. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We found the room to be spotlessly clean, and the shower was good. The aircon was quiet and worked well. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and the food was very good. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment. Overall we liked it, and we would stay again. A couple of things I feel could be improved on - there was no welcome drink, or a complementary bottle of wine in the room, and no bottled water. which is unusual for this grade of hotel, and breakfast seems a little overpriced, even for Bordeaux. For these reasons, I would choose to score as a 4.5, but that's not available, so I scored a 5.

Google
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Great rooms, service, and location. In particular we felt like our room was not just beautiful but very well-laid out with lots of subtle touches that made it very pleasant to stay in whether for a few nights or longer. We were fortunate enough to have dinner on-site one night and it was absolutely fabulous. Hoping to visit again on a future date and thank you so much!

Staying at the Yndo Hotel in Bordeaux was not just a stay, it was a true experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning design — a perfect balance of elegance, creativity, and character. Every detail throughout the property feels thoughtfully curated, creating a warm and luxurious atmosphere. We were delighted to receive an upgrade, which made our visit even more special. The suite was beautifully designed, spacious, and filled with unique touches that showed incredible attention to detail. From the décor to the comfort, everything was flawless. The service was equally exceptional. This was far beyond a typical hotel stay. It was an unforgettable experience that left us with only one thought: we will definitely be coming back. We strongly recommend Yndo Hotel to anyone visiting Bordeaux who wants something extraordinary.

The hotel, once an old mansion, has been beautifully transformed into a stylish boutique property, artistic, and full of personality. It’s family-run, Estelle, the manager, was very helpful, and the young lady at reception with blonde hair and glasses was lovely. Our room was facing the street, modern, Despite the rainy weather, the hotel felt cozy and warm. location — about a 10-minute walk to the old quarter.

We booked a junior suite amd the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel has a cool vibe and the staff are bery friendly. The gentleman covering reception at night is a particular highlight! A great character who went out of his way for us. We had a really early flight and the hotel offered to serve an early breakfast for us.

Google
Rooms are not all the same. In fact our Cozy Room was humid, dated, and with serious wear and tear. The size was very small even for a European hotel. Breakfast at 34€ per person vs 9-12€ around the corner. Would not recommend this hotel. Thank you for your reply. I did request a room change but you were sold out. I was expecting a small room, and while it varied from the size reflected on the website, being much smaller than expected, the room also had damages all over, especially in the bathroom. I would suggest you had another category, below Cozy, that reflects the type of room we received (room 102) on the ground floor.

On our current trip, my wife and I stayed in one of world's top 25 ranked hotels. Yndo was better! Staying at this hotel is like staying with attentive relatives. The staff is incredibly helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are always eager to please and treat you more like family than hotel guests. ||The room we had was very clean and modern despite being in an older building - meaning historical, not dated. What we really appreciated was our own private patio where we could sit at the end of the day and sip wine which we had bought on the day's touring of Bordeaux. ||We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night, and it was very good. The other nights we had the hotel book restaurants for us and without exception, each one was wonderful, not only in terms of the cuisine, but also in terms of the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Unlike other hotels of the world, they don't just send you to the local tourist restaurant, but they carefully research and keep tabs on the quality of the restaurants they recommend.||Frankly, we cannot say enough about the hotel and its staff. We usually visit a location only once, but in this case, the hotel alone is enough to make us want to visit Bordeaux again.

Yelp
Wow! What a magical experience. The staff was knowledgeable, warm and friendly. Our rooms were absolutely beautiful. The concierge handled all taxi and travel plans flawlessly. The breakfast was perfect and the setting so relaxing. Drinking wine on the patio in the afternoon was perfect. Their restaurant recommendations were also perfect. I can't wait to stay here again. I travel often and highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with amazing amenities located close to all in Bordeaux. The most delicious breakfast I have eaten in Europe so far. The staff is warm and friendly! Don't pass up this place. So highly recommended!!!

Yelp
We landed in Bordeaux definitely doubting this stop on our trip. While we were a bit disappointed with what the city of Bordeaux had to offer the Yndo hotel and its staff made our time in Bordeaux worthwhile. Upon arrival we were upgraded without asking simply because the hotel had room. We were shown around the quaint hotel and greeted by the hotel pup. The room was very modern and clean with amazing towels we actually ended up buying to take home! The staff spent lots of time recommending restaurants, places to see, tours etc. My only recommendation to the hotel would be to provide complimentary bottled water in the rooms - even 2 a day would be greatly appreciated! If you find yourself in Bordeaux (which we wouldn't necessarily recommend) this is the place to stay!
