Though it may look like a typical 19th-century Bordeaux chateau from the outside, don’t expect silk-lined walls and Louis XV furnishings: on the inside, YNDO is sleek, ultramodern and quirky to boot. It’s the kind of hotel Bordeaux has needed for a while—upscale yet playful, exclusive without being stuffy. There are only 12 rooms, which could be described as minimalist if not for their cosy furnishings and eclectic artwork.
