The Best Pupusas In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"The only way to distinguish a great pupusa from a pretty good one is to, well, have a pretty good one. And those are found at Yo Soy Centroamericano. The pupusas here have a nice crunchy exterior, but they just don’t quite nail the filling. The revuelta comes with chicharron, cheese, and beans, but we got more of a bean taste with sporadic bites of chicharron here and there. However, their pupusa accompaniments are some of the best we’ve had. The pickled vegetables are spicy, sour, and the cabbage slaw is scientifically balanced on the pH scale. We could happily eat a whole bowl of them." - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

Yo Soy Centroamericano - Review - Little Havana - Miami - The Infatuation

"Yo Soy Centroamericano is a Honduran restaurant that operates entirely outdoors. The space feels like someone’s front porch and the menu consists of Honduran classics like baleadas, pupusas, and catrachitas. The well-shaded restaurant is perfect for grabbing a light bite on a temperate day. Their pupusa revuelta has a nice crunchy exterior that kind of makes up for the inconsistent filling of beans, chicharron, and cheese. But it will satisfy a pupusa craving if you’re in the area. When you’re done eating, hop over to their mini-market next door, where you’ll find chips and candy from Central America like Tortrix and Duvalín. photo credit: Tasty Planet photo credit: Tasty Planet photo credit: Tasty Planet photo credit: Tasty Planet Pause Unmute" - Mariana Trabanino

Google
Just ordered the a burrita and a pupusa with chicharrón and beans. Burrita was good, I tried it there before. Pupusa was a disappointment. It had nothing inside, thin tortilla, yet they kept telling me that’s how they cook it with frijoles and chicharrón so you can’t see it. I’ve seen pupusas before, they are thicker if they have a filling. This one had nothing but just cream inside, very thin. I told them I don’t want it, and I didn’t eat it, but they refused to refund. Beware, check the food before you pay. Or you’ll get robbed.

I am from China and this is my first time in Miami. I searched for restaurants nearby and found this place. I was surprised to find that Central American food can taste good too! Highly recommend👍👍👍👍👍

Google
Absolutely fantastic food. Server was very nice and attentive. Great prices, delicious meal.

This food is not worth the price, plus is nothing about Centro American food. Pay over $40 for 2 terrible enchiladas and carne asada.

I checked out this newly opened spot for dinner and I loved it! They have a parking lot if you enter through the back or street parking right in front! It’s super airy and definitely gives a Central American vibe. We tried so many of the delicious Honduran dishes they offer! Pupusas, fried tacos, ceibeño with chicken, baleada, juices, and typical Honduran sodas. Everything was delicious and SO WELL PRICED! You can definitely get a full and satisfying meal here for under $10. Everyone was really nice as well - definitely check out this new local spot and support!

Google
Shared the family combo with my friend and everything was sooooo delicious and they are so generous with their portions. I’ve never liked the texture of fried cheese but after having theirs, I’ve been converted!! delicately crisp and soft inside, it’s perfect. This is definitely my new favorite breakfast spot :)

Google
The food was great, however, service took too long and the waiter was not attentive. In addition, they failed to mention gratuity was automatically included so I ended up tipping more than I anticipated for not so great service.

Yelp
Last night we were in the mood for something different and decided on Yo Soy Centro Americano. The place gives you a vacation type vibe. You'd forget you are in the US if you dine in. The waitress was kind and attentive. Parking isn't ideal since it's streets parking on a busy street in the heart of Miami, living on an edge. Overall this place is ok, the fish did not have any seasoning (but it was fresh), the stuffed plantain was delicious. The juice was to perfection. : Stuffed Plantain :Fried Fish, white rice ,salad, and plantain : Tamarind juice (no pictures)

Yelp
Cute little outdoor cafe with very limited seating. You can order at the counter, but there is also table service. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. I ordered the pollo alla plancha with rice, beans, and maduros. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the mashed black beans were really yummy too.

Yelp
The best foods usually come from small unexpected places and this was no different. I ordered the tacos and the picture they have does not do it Justice. It's like a jumbo sized taquito that was so good with the tomato and cheese. I also ordered a pupusa with refried beans and cheese. This is not on the menu but I do recommend as the one of just beans is on the dry side. The plate of carne asada was also very large and although it was good, I'm sticking to the tacos as my favorite of the three items I tried. The location is small and it's street parking only but there was plenty of available spaces around. They only have a few tables and it's open-air. Only one other person was sitting at a table so it was calm and playing lots of throwbacks which are always great. If you are prone to getting mosquito bites, I 100% recommend wearing repellant because you will get bit a few times. I I have now had the food twice and definitely recommend eating there instead of doing take-out. It was so good the first time around that I decided to do order the tacos and pupusa for takeout. The refried beans and cheese is not on the menu and just the beans was too dry and the tacos didn't come with as much salad or cheese on it and it made a difference in the taste and that's why I didn't give the full 5 stars

Yelp
Always love coming here for the cafe con leche, it always hits the spot!! They have amazing dishes too! This is my fourth time here and I've had their breakfast before and it is pretty good. The quesadilla was fire. My friend said the pupusa was delish! They have outdoor seating and it brings a chill vibe while you enjoy your coffee. The waitresses are very attentive and sweet!

Yelp
Hole in the wall in little Havana. Place is very small and only has outdoor seating (about 6-8 4 and 2 top tables). Name says it all but focuses on Honduran cuisine. You can find your typical Central American food such as carne asada , queso frito (fried cheese), tacos, gallo pinto (mixed red beans and rice), pupusas (filled tortillas), and much more! Best of all is the natural juices. Portions are very decent for the price so come with hunger! Because it's small, service is a bit slow. There is only 1 waitress. Also since this is outdoor seating only, make sure to apply bug repellent. I ended leaving the place quite swollen from all the bites. Heads up, there is no parking lot, but there is street parking right up front and is normally always available.

Yelp
The food was amazing the young lady that worked there was very kind. Love the dinning area was nice as well. The best chicken I have ever had. I will be going there more frequently.

Yelp
I had the steak quesadilla. Very mid, decent option. It came with queso and that was pretty good.

Yelp
Food was incredibly delicious and service was amazing! It's a cozy environment with beautiful greenery all around. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone!
