Best Affordable Sushi in NYC | Eater NY

"The sushi menu is vast and inexpensive at the East Village’s Yo Sushi, with assortments of nigiri and maki rolls running between $18 and $24. There are invented and inherited maki rolls galore, and even a section of seven warm tempura rolls, making us wonder how they do so much. Complete Japanese kitchen available, with a modest amount of seating in the very plain dining room." - Robert Sietsema

The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, March 2021 - Eater NY

"A cozy bowl of pork udon with a side of sushi featuring a menu of udon and sushi meal sets built for to-go customers. The pork udon had perfectly thick and chewy noodles with fatty slivers of pork. The meal came with a four-piece spicy tuna roll paired with several dipping sauces." - Eater Staff

Google
I love this place for affordable sushi. It’s great. Always fresh, always very well done. If you know the way real sushi should be made then this is it. I’ll attach some photos to show how much fish they put on the rice. It always covers rice completely. I usually take dinner course. It’s 22 pieces and a starter. Great deal. And mind that all the bad reviews are written years ago. It has nothing to do with a place nowadays. It might have been sold or they changed management. Now it’s a 5 stars

Google
if you want a quick spot for sushi especially late night, this is the place! the prices are affordable and the fish is good plus they give thick slices for nigiri and sashimi. will definitely come back again!

Google
Also in the camp of not sure why people are poorly rating this place? the quality of sushi you get isn’t terrible… The hand rolls are double the size of hand rolls i’ve seen in nyc. paid 45$ for the sweet heart roll, 2 spicy tuna hand rolls, 1 philadelphia hand roll, and a miso soup! I didn’t need the sweet heart roll personally as the hand rolls were HUGE. great take out sushi spot that’s cheap eats and gets the job done for sure! it’s absolutely higher quality than whole foods and grocery store tuna. On par with some sushi restaurants here

Google
Good for what you pay for it . Fresh take out I always order sakedon, fried oyster and tuna tataki and salmon Tatar. Always enjoy it almost once a week

Google
I recommend this place for their lunch specials, which are both cheap and hefty. You’ll find better quality and better tasting Japanese food elsewhere; however, you won’t find a better value. I live close by, so I can’t speak to their delivery service, but the staff is always super quick and friendly when I order for pickup.

Google
Everything so good and fresh. What I got was beyond my expectations. Glad I gave this place a change after read so many bad reviews.

Google
I also don't understand the low ratings of this place. The food isn't the best sushi ever (I have been twice and both times gotten the sushi/sashimi combo) but it is so so much cheaper than any other sushi place that isn't Key foods or a dump--their sushi is cheaper than Whole Foods and much higher quality. anyway, this an excellent option in the area.

Google
It’s good cheap sushi takeout, something this neighborhood just does not have enough of. Get the platters

Yelp

Yelp
Ordered for delivery. I used to come here over a decade ago when I was in college because they were close by so I am sentimental. However their rice has always been consistently mushy which is a bummer. The draw was they're open super late on DoorDash.

Yelp
Their lunch special is a fantastic deal for Manhattan -- two rolls and a soup or salad (or soda or water) for $11! The delivery was right in the desired window estimate and fresh tasting. Would absolutely order this again. Let's dive in... Salad (3/5): The only item lacking a bit in this meal, the salad doesn't do anything original with this standard at most Japanese restaurants. The iceberg lettuce was still wet making it hard for the dressing to adhere well to the lettuce and carrot shavings. The dressing flavor was the usual carrot-ginger combo. Bean Curd Avocado Roll (3/5): This is my first time trying this roll. Overall the roll flavor is a bit like a sweet-salty bread (the bean curd) and the avocado is fatty and creamy, so it's a lot of soft textures. I would consider it again but only with crunchy ingredients added (e.g., cucumber). Mango Avocado Roll (Add Jalapeño) (4/5): Glad jalapeño was added to this. This checks the box for the most part as vegetarian rolls go. The mango was sweet enough for not being in season right now. Shrimp Mango Avocado Roll (4/5): Very nice to have a 3-ingredient roll on a lunch special menu! I would personally like more equal proportions of shrimp and mango compared to the big hunk of avocado (but I'm nit picky so take this comment as you please). Otherwise this is a nice combo of flavor. Alaska Roll (5/5): Again, 3-ingredient rolls included in a lunch special makes the value-seeker in me giddy! The salmon is quite fresh and the ingredient proportions are well balanced. Value (5/5): As mentioned above, two rolls and a salad are a steal in NYC! TL;DR: Would recommend to anyone who works local or has the option for delivery.

Yelp
Fish is fresh and the portions are so well sized. So yummy it's my fave takeout spot in east village

Yelp
The Yo Sushi maki lunch special is so delicious and reasonably priced! I always get the 2 or 3 roll special with a miso soup

Yelp
They have some really good sushi unfortunately their customer service is absolutely garbage I ordered off Allset which is on their website and google when you look them up. As I arrived they say that they never received my order and have me pay TWICE after paying online. I ordered online for it to be ready for pick up not to pay twice and way 15 more minutes into my break. Will not be coming again

Yelp
Amazing quality sushi for an amazing price! the lady who works there is so sweet too :) shrimp tempura roll rocks

Yelp
I walk past this little sushi place everyday and finally DoorDashed it for pickup one day. After reading through the reviews I'm suprised so many people had a bad experience because I only have great things to say! This small kitchen is only operating for to-go service (not sure if it's due to COVID or construction) but it's easy to overlook - almost like a ghost kitchen. My food was ready so fast and the food was really affordable for quality sushi. This will be my go to takeout sushi in the future

Yelp
Vegetable Tempura has 5 slice of different types of veggies, pretty nice for a small appetizer.

Yelp
Leaving my first review ever because this place was much better than the reviews give credit for! Experienced sushi consumer and very happy with the freshness and taste -- I got the 18 piece sashimi dinner deluxe and slices were very thick! My partner says the sweet heart roll is his new favorite roll ever too. Ignore the old rating and get your takeout here!!

Yelp
I got a Toro roll. Presentation was nice, rice was perfectly cooked, and the quality of fish was ok. I don't think this is the best toro i've tasted (i've tasted a lot from many different places). My favorite thing about this place was that they were open late so I was able to order a roll at 1230am. I also had their clear broth soup which was perfectly flavored. I don't see myself going back by choice.

Yelp
If there were 0 stars for this restaurant, I would honestly give it a 0. I ordered from them via grubhub and I immediately asked them to cancel it due to the fact that a coupon was not applied. However, they told me they can't do it. Next thing you know, my food is late and I ordered a sashimi platter for 2 along with other dishes and there ends up to be absolutely no soy sauce in the platter. I called them back and they promised to deliver the soy sauce, and that took about an hour after I had to call them 4 times. I wrote them a poor review on grubhub due to their service and the food wasn't even good. Here's the thing, the next day Yo sushi calls me back and told me "I didn't give you the soy sauce in a rush because we assumed you wanted more soy sauce and you didn't really need it." They asked me to take down my review in exchange for a 20% coupon, I rejected it because I honestly wasn't fond of their food and the service was horrible. The owner of the restaurant texted me after we hung up the call, and told me that I'm going to get bad karma for giving them a bad review and called me an 80 year old woman with bad memories, and tried to threaten me. It is ridiculous how a business just tries to call and amend things through offering coupons when they need to recognize that their service is horrible. Also texting customers and yelling at them is definitely not the way to go either.

Yelp
***Quick service, Mediocre quality, Friendly staff*** I was looking for a quick to-go option and stepped into this restaurant. It was empty, which should have been a dead giveaway but I was in a rush. The sushi is decent and nothing that great about it. They somehow got my order wrong and had to take my order back to fix, which I'm unsure how that was possible since I was the only person they were serving. I wouldn't recommend this place, to be honest.

Yelp
If i could describe this place in one word it would be "Yuck"! . This place should not call itself a sushi restaurant as their food barely has any resemblance of what sushi should taste like. The sushi was swimming in a pool of wet soup. The Salmon teriyaki was dry and hard like the bottom of a old shoe. The pork dumplings tasted very questionable.

Yelp
I'm so shocked by the negative reviews. I just randomly ordered take out from here. And I have to say it's on my top list of sushi places And I've eaten a lot of sushi in my life! The dancing Tuna roll and yellowtail jalapeño are incredible!

Felicity Y.

Yelp
Really yummy sushi for a great price point in my neighborhood. I'm always grateful for local small businesses that serve quality food for reasonable prices, especially in Manhattan where things can get very pricey! Came here for the lunch special and got 3 rolls for $15 with a salad (or soup).

Yelp
I ordered and shared sushi for lunch with a friend! This place was solid. It wasn't crazy good, but it was pretty good, cheap, and had fast delivery. We ordered a miso soup, very typical. Nothing special. And we got a seaweed salad, that tasted surprisingly fresh. We got a green salad with house dressing and miso soup as part of our meal with the sushi we ordered. Then, we got the tuna roll alongside the triple fish trio. Salmon, tuna, and yellowtail were really good. The tuna roll itself with seaweed on the outside had nice big cuts of fish. Really good! The sake we ordered was alright. A little more dry than I would have liked, but they strangely listed no options. So we just went with a 10 oz mystery sake and got what we got haha. Overall it was a solid lunch! I liked it and would eat it again.

Gene H.

Yelp
One of my fav. regular sushi places... All their rolls are solidly done... The toro roll is melt in your mouth great... No idea what is up with the previous poor reviews other than maybe they were targeted towards the wrong location? Whatever the case may be, as of today they definitely deserve a good review!

Yelp
Very decent sushi at a great price. Also received 20% off via Seamless Web. Delivery was fast (about 15 mins) and the food was pretty good. Everything was fresh and tasty, however a few of the rolls were not perfectly constructed, so the seaweed came apart slightly. I'd probably give the place another shot.

Yelp
Ordered some sushi rolls and I was pretty upset that I paid extra for spicy mayo but they forgot to give it to me. I had to eat it with nasty soy sauce. I always hated soy sauce because it tastes superrrrr salty and it burns my lips. Sorry but I just couldn't enjoy the food. They did call me after I'd given up on my food to apologize and offer to refund my $1. I told them it's ok...its not the $1 I care about. Spicy crunchy tuna was neither spicy nor crunchy and eel avocado roll was like 1 part eel to 9 part avocado. Delivery dude was kinda rude too. Closed my own door on me while I thanked him lol. Portions are big.

Yelp
Discovered this place on Seamless Web and thank goodness I did! This place is my go-to for delivery sushi. Everything I've ever gotten here has been fresh and tasty. My favorite of which is the Calamari Tempura rolls. The sauce was yummy and the calamari was perfectly cooked, not tough and chewy. The delivery service is pretty fast considering my office is a bit far from the restaurant, so I'm very impressed that my miso soup was still hot by the time my food came. I will definitely order from here again!!

Yelp
This place isn't closed, they're only open for dinner. I've been passing this place for the last 2 years or so and deciding to finally try them tonight. The food came very fast, it arrived in about 10-15 minutes. The price was on the low end. I ordered the sashimi dinner which came with miso soup, salad, rice, and 24 pieces of sashimi. The description didn't say how many pieces were included so I was pretty shocked when I found 24 pieces. The soup and salad were pretty basic. The rice was a nice freebie considering I ordered sashimi, not chirashi. The fish were pretty big except it was inconsistent. Some pieces were good but most weren't - many pieces were mushy or tasted like they came out of the freezer and were just thawed today (extremely cold and abnormally firm) I would give them 1 star but the price was very low and food arrived fast but i wouldn't order from here again.
google avatar

Sherrel F.

Yelp
Dont go here, especially dont go here for the soup. This a Chinese-run sushi place where they have little concern for or sense of Japanese food. The tempura udon shrimp had way way too much breading and was fried to the consistency of a brick -- with dipping sauce! When the idea is that you will put it in the soup, and only on the side so it stays crispy. Aside from the udon noodles, there were only two small pieces of broccoli in the soup, for $12 that is really pathetic. They were pleasant, hence the 2 stars. Only one star for the food.

Yelp
I'm always looking for super cheap sushi places with vegetarian/vegan rolls and this one is so great. Take out or sit down, I love it. Cheap beer, good avocado in their rolls, I'm into it.

Yelp
I logged onto Yelp just to write this because I was stunned. Haven't been on here in years. Read this whole damned thing for I only speak the truth. I ordered last night b/c family ate Thanksgiving meal at 3 and I'm hungry again at 10:30. Called to make sure they were open, which they were. Very polite on the phone - tells me it's 30 minutes for my order that costs $12.95 on the menu. Delivery man is prompt! 35 minutes later, he's here. As I open the door to greet him, he's all "happy holidays"two or three times, and I greet him in kind. Hand him a 20, and his face lights up as he begins thanking me profusely. I'm now dreading that I'm going to have to ask for change, but I'm not exactly rich, and he's crazy if he thinks he's getting a ~75% tip. The bill comes to $14.10 with tax, so I figure a $3.90 tip, amounting to +30% is pretty nice for 10 minutes work. I ask for 2 dollars back, and to sum up, he moans, groans, pretends not to understand my request, makes me repeat myself 3 times, and FINALLY when he takes out his wallet (do they not give delivery people cash?), he has the AUDACITY to hand me ONE FUCKING DOLLAR and go "ok?" like we're fucking bartering in the stairwell, like I just visited his garage sale at 11 PM on a Thursday and decided to haggle for food. I was dumbfounded. In my stunned silence, he then changes his mind, I think , and starts waving towards the dollar in my hand as though asking for it back, or maybe he wanted to increase it to $2, but I thought it would indeed be a bit much for me to shake this guy down for change when I'm fairly certain I am better off than he is...but I'll be DAMNED AS A SATANIC HERETICAL ARSONIST if I ever order from that place again. The food was decent. No soy sauce though, wtf? Luckily condiments last forever for some reason. The chicken, however, was gamey and not choice. Rice was good (thank fuck for that). TL;DR If you order delivery from this place, make sure you either pay and tip online, or have exact cash, because their delivery personnel are flat-out rude.

Yelp
Ordered through seamless and this was the worst food we ever ate. I got the nabe yakisoba and a tofu skin sushi (forgot the name) while my boyfriend got beef negimaki. Delivery was taking longer than usual (got a notification like 5 minutes after we order ((7:20pm)) that said delivery should arrive 7:45-7:50.) so we called around 7:55pm or so to check on the order. They sounded like they forgot to place the order and said it was coming soon. Food finally arrives around 8:10ish and we were SO disappointed. 1) the nabe yakisoba was SOGGY. Like if you leave package instant ramen in the soup for an hour soggy. The egg looked beautiful but was WAY overcooked for an sunny side up egg. The shrimp tempura was heavy battered and it was like eating a corn dog. Shrimp was also ehh. 2) boyfriend was disappointed by his beef negimaki to which he describe it as eating rubber instead of beef. 3) tofu skin sushi was eh. Skin still had a lot of it water. Never will I order again without doing any research. We end up throwing almost everything away cause it was so bad. Should've yelped this place and saved me $30.

Yelp
My friends and I put in a large order through seamless and it took TWO HOURS to arrive. During that time they peppered our phone conversations with lies ("Your order is already on its way"), run-arounds ("What is your seamless web order number?") and stall tactics ("Look outside your window and tell me if you can see the delivery man!"). We should have realized it was a bad scene when we were put on hold and incidentally overheard them giving a gushing apology to another customer. When the "sushi" finally arrived it was virtually inedible. It was, without a doubt, the worst sushi I've had in New York City. The fish was brown, oxidized, crusty. The rolls were falling apart. Fried things were soggy and undercooked. The best part of the meal was that sh!tty Japanese restaurant salad you get with the orange ginger dressing. One nice slice of cucumber and a single, insultingly small cherry tomato. I would rather have eaten sushi from a stinky midtown bodega. Thanks, Yo Sushi! Your quality establishment is a great reminder that my immune system is still functioning properly.

Emily L.

Yelp
Great quality, super quick service, nice people! Green river roll is delish. They also have gluten free soy sauce!
google avatar

Yelp
Eek! Methinks not. My food hasn't even come yet, and I can already confidently give this place 1 star. Their quoted 30-45 minute delivery time is currently at an hour and ten minutes. When I called them, I got a disconnect sound. I called them again, and got a busy signal. I called a third time, and this unfriendly thing picked up. I told her my food was late, and she said "It's on its way" just to hang up on me. B!tch. Yo, Sushi... I hope you lose customers. You deserve to. P.S. Guys, put your reviews on SEAMLESS too! This place is the highest rated Japanese place in Midtown, which is why so many people order from it.

Yelp
In my world there are two kinds of sushi, exquisite and pedestrian. I've had the pleasure of exquisite sushi in Tokyo, Osaka, Los Angeles and here in NYC, but being a New Yorker I have to admit to eating more pedestrian sushi than I could even remember. This is a pedestrian sushi joint. It's a good pedestrian sushi joint, though. I would never have walked into this place had my buddy Jim not recommended it. He said it was completely good and a remarkable value. Value sushi doesn't have a very good ring to it, but I trust Jim's taste - he's been all around the world and has eaten everything - he knows good food, and being a fellow artist type he also has a strong respect for value. He was right in his assessment of Yo Sushi. A $9 dollar sashimi lunch special proved to be way more of a pleasure than that amount of money ought to provide as far as raw fish goes. It was good. Two delicious pieces of white tuna, two slices of halibut, three of salmon, three of tuna (the least special of the assortment) and a couple pieces of crab (or crab substitute) that may as well have been as much of a garnish as the shisho leaf and grated daikon came with a typically lousy iceberg salad, good miso soup and a bowl of rice. The fish was not top quality, but it was fresh, and while we were eating more fresh fish was delivered to the restaurant for the dinner crowd. In a place like this you're looking for freshness, because you know you're not getting the best fish. Less than the best is still tasty when it's fresh, and that's what you get here. Six of us had lunch here with too much sake and a couple beers. The bill was $115. That's six people eating raw fish and drinking for $115! Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I didn't think that was still possible. I got so used to "value sushi" being a disappointment that I'd pretty much stopped bothering with it. Yo Sushi surprised the hell out of me. It was an OK (not great) sushi joint that happens to be priced like it was ten years ago. In fact, it's exactly like walking into a pedestrian sushi joint ten years ago, which is not a terrible thing. Three stars for the food, plus one for the value. If you don't care about value or pedestrian sushi knock a star or two off this review. If you want some good fish on the cheap consider Yo Sushi.

Yelp
Ordered delivery. Food was bland, cleanliness dubious, and service unprofessional. The delivery boy first asked to come into our apartment to see the rooms (??!!!), then requested more tip in cash even though it has been included in the order. Don order from here.

Yelp
Today after work I was on a personal mission to arm myself with a massive amount of sushi and watch movies all evening. I turned to Yo Sushi as my accomplice as I figured this place might be a good compromise between quality and quantity. I ordered the large chirashi, one of their signature rolls, a seaweed salad, and one piece of uni. It was definitely a lot of food, and they included a miso soup. I placed the order on seamless, and they called to tell me they were out of uni. I asked them to just take it off the bill and I was a bit worried they wouldn't refund the charge to my credit card. I am happy to report that it looks like they did issue the refund. The sushi was okay. The tuna in the chirashi had a bit of a course texture. The miso soup was lacking flavor. The roll was good, but I did think the eel on top was sliced a unfortunately thin. Also, shrimp was one of the ingredients in the roll, but there was so little of it that it was hard to find. I would, however, recommend rolls from this restaurant over individual sushi pieces as the exact quality of the fish is less important in a roll. I did not expect the sushi from this restaurant to be top notch, so felt fine about what I got for the sake of saving. After the meal though, I compared the prices from Yo with a higher quality sushi place in the neighborhood and I was disappointed to see that the prices are identical for most items. So in end I learned that it would have cost me exactly the same amount of money to order higher grade sushi from another area restaurant. But I did take advantage of the 20% off deal on Seamless, so that represents a good savings I couldn't have found elsewhere. I can't say I would recommend this place though and I probably won't be going back when I can get better sushi for the same price closer to home.

Yelp
Ew-uhhhhhhh Chicken teriyaki came swimming in watery teriyaki sauce. The onions weren't sauteed well enough and tasted absolutely raw.
google avatar

Eli W.

Yelp
Terrible experience. I ordered the spicy tuna, had one piece, and started vomiting about an hour later after immediately getting a stomachache. I called to inform them (not even to ask for a refund, just to let them know the sushi was rotten) only to be yelled at by the manager about how the food wasn't bad and that it was probably something I had eaten during the day! The manager was incredibly rude and didn't even sound like she was listening to what I was saying. Never offered a refund. Unreal. Stay away.

Yelp
Oredered delivery from Seamless web. It was quite prompt. Got 3 roll lunch special: Philadelphia Roll, Tuna Mango Roll, and Eel Avocado Roll. Comes with standard soup and salad. It was ok. I hate Philadelphia rolls and don't know why I ordered one (maybe because I'm from Philly and feel guilty). The tuna mango roll had this bIzarre effect: I didn't realize mango was in the picture until late in the roll. I just thought it was tuna. How is that possible? Stealth mango. Eel avocado, as always, is good. Price is reasonable! Would order again.

Yelp
I recently started getting into the more elaborate sushi rolls, but my wallet certainly doesn't enjoy them. Luckily, Yo Sushi's prices are not that bad, my total was $15.66. 1. Alaska Roll - Salmon, Avocado, & Cucumber - Inside Out with Sesame Seed. 2. Philadelphia Roll - Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Avocado, Cucumber, Tempura Batter & Scallion - Inside Out with Sesame Seed. 3. Shrimp Tempura Roll. Okay, so maybe the rolls I ordered aren't the most complicated ones, but even the ones that were were not that expensive either. I should also add that I ordered delivery from them and my food arrived in a timely fashion. Gotta love online delivery. I also had the option for some of the rolls to have them in a hand (cone) roll. The rolls all tasted fresh, and did not come apart. My tempura roll was HUGE, and I asked for the philadelphia roll in a hand roll. Everything was good, their assortment is vast. I will probably be ordering from them again soon.

Yelp
Overall 3.5 stars. Decor: 4/5 -Looks very organized and clean but that's cause we were the only diners tonight Service: 3.5/5 -Good service, they gave us some soup on the house which was generous of them Sushi: 3.5/5 -Super white tuna with avocado: large cuts of tuna and avocado. I wasn't a fan of the sushi rice though. It was a bit on the hard side. -Alaskan Roll: i've had better..but it's decent. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/PD0O_q0RXvEkgC6-07ffpQ?select=-YmtBCXZaF3G4dPsV2NzuQ -These rolls were priced on average ($4 to $4.50) If you want AMAZING sushi, go to Sushi Yasuda. http://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-yasuda-new-york#hrid:UzQhWJzS98Rx9ZkvUVDB9w

Yelp
3 stars - spicy mayo; 2 stars for service; 2 stars for ambiance; and 2.5 stars for the sushi. This place is usually empty because a large portion of it's business is derived from takeout orders. Most people choose to takeout because this place is, well, kind of sad (especially if you're dining alone after work). The sushi itself is okay; the salad and Ginger dressing was okay; the spicy mayo was okay--basically, this is a safe bet for a quick bite, but I won't be thinking about this place once I leave. I had the spicy yellowtail roll, which had an okay taste, but was VERY mushy and poorly rolled (spicy fish mixture coming out of roll) and the specialty spicy salmon roll which was better than the first roll, but also double the price. Bottom line: you can walk (not run) to this place, but if you happen to walk past another sushi joint that looks good, maybe you should try that one instead.

Yelp
Horrible delivery. Container was open with raw fish inside. Soup was spilled in separate bag. Horrible sushi. Cheap wasabi was gritty when blended in soy sauce, fish was un-fresh, miso soup flavorless. I will never eat from here again. Much better place like East on 3rd ave.

Yelp
Ordered a few different rolls for some variety. I do not know if it was an intentional act of "aging" gone wrong or a mistake but the food tasted old. Also, I was not sure if I was drinking the rice off of the sushi or eating it as it was as soggy as porridge. (Note: this is a rating based SOLELY on the quality of the food which is pathetic at best)

Yelp
Very disappointed that I spent 7.50$ on a chicken katsu salad and it consisted of one piece of soggy chicken and iceberg lettuce.... Like, seriously? Not even a tomato??

Yelp
I've only ever done delivery from here, but have always been completely satisfied. This is definitely my go to delivery sushi place for four primary reasons. 1) The sushi is always fresh. 2) Delivery is usually prompt. 3) I can order on Seamlessweb. 4) It is inexpensive for good quality. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to sushi and my order mainly consists of sashmi; however I do appreciate interesting rolls. Plus sashmi itself never really fills me up on its own. My favorite special rolls are Dynamite Roll (spicy white tuna, cucumber, tobiko topped with avocado) and Snow Roll (spicy tuna and avocado topped with lobster salad). Would recommend to anyone.

Yelp
This place was alright. We went right before closing and they still let us in to eat, but they sure did make us feel guilty about it. They shut off half of the lights while we were eating. I have had fresher fish, I have had better prices, but I have also had worse. 3 stars

Yelp
The search for good delivery sushi continues in midtown, the land of mediocre delivery sushi. I realize that delivery sushi is never transcendent or anything, but cmon. I wanna feel like I'm enjoying my lunch instead of slogging through it. For the record, I got the 3 roll lunch special, which came out to $12 with tax and tip with the seamless web discount. Got salmon skin, eel avocado, and yellowtail scallion. None of these were outstanding and the nori wrappers were really, really, really chewy. Almost like gum. The miso soup was hot and yummy. The salad... was a pile of iceberg lettuce with the saddest tomato piece I have ever seen. It was almost white and not in that good heirloom way. Take a pass.

Yelp
Awful customer service, menu on Uber eats had typos and did not state the correct ingredients in menu items. With this, I accidentally ordered something with eel even though I am highly allergic and didn't know there was eel in the roll. When calling the restaurant to explain what happened they told me they can't do anything about that and the menu was correct. I'm very disappointed and will never be ordering from here again. If ordering from Uber eats, you will see their menu is not accurate. Clearly this is a healthy threat and issue to me and I'm sure many others.

Yelp
We took out from this place last night and it was a big disappointment. The chicken hibachi was mediocre, not bad but it tasted nothing like real hibachi. The fried rice was alright, but almost tasted like the McDonald's version of fried rice. The miso soup was honestly pretty gross...and I thought of all things the least likely to get screwed up would be the miso soup. The ginger dressing for the salad tasted good at first but ended up being super watery once mixed into the salad. Believe it or not all of that was eatable...until we got to the sashimi bento box. The california role it came with was probably one of the worse sushi roles I have ever had, and the sashimi was absolutely terrible. My boyfriend took one bite and that was it for him. It just tasted old, dry and too soft. One of the kinds was so fishy we could not even eat it. The shumai was actually good, I'll give them that. But all in all it was probably the worst Japanese food I have ever had.

Yelp
Don't be afraid if the dining room isn't full, this place is AMAZING. My roommate just turned me on to it and I'm planning on making it my sushi haunt. I LOVE the tuna, so fresh. They have great specialty rolls but their ala carte sushi is so much cheaper and not at all plain. I really dig the traditional atmosphere so I plan to dine in soon, even if it is a little creepy quiet. put some music on! Totally love this place

Yelp
Ordered the 3-roll sushi lunch special and it was alright. I like that Yo Sushi has a variety of rolls and comes with soup and salad - I was full after eating half my meal. It's a decent price and delivery was relatively fast. The sushi seemed fresh - I just wasn't wowed by it. The main reason I ordered from Yo Sushi was because it would: a) fulfill my sushi craving b) was within my office's delivery range and c) gave me the most bang for my buck (out of all the sushi delivery places) Was it the best sushi I've ever had? No - but it was a lot of food for what I spent - and that's all that really matters at the moment.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. This place is disgusting, I will never order or eat from here again. Extremely rude service and there are plenty more sushi restaurants in Manhattan, no one cares about this stupid hole in the wall, they act like they're Tao. They're incredibly mean and the food is below the threshold of edible.
