Writing the Perfect Grocery List Doesn’t Have to Be a Chore | Eater

"A small NYC stationery shop praised for supplying planners and decorative materials that make handwriting shopping lists feel playful and intentional; the author bought their first Hobonichi Techo there and credits the store for providing stickers, glitter gel pens, and other supplies that helped kick off a ritual of unplugging, staying organized, and avoiding impulse purchases while supporting a favorite local business." - Esra Erol

Google
Love, love, love!! When in NYC, I made it a point to visit her due to all the reviews I read online. It did not disappoint. It is a smaller store and had a lot of customers. But well organized. I’m a huge Travelers Notebook fan and found things I wanted or needed. Was able to buy the Hobonichi products my friend gave me a list for. Good choices of nice inks. Lots of pens to choose from. Will definitely come back here the next time I’m in NYC!

Google
Visiting NYC and decided to stop by one of my favorite stationery stores. I was not disappointed. Staff were so friendly and helpful! I picked up some items and spent some time browsing. Would definitely continue to order from them online.

Graham Ryder

Google
Quality products arrived safely, packed well with individually cardboard/paper wrapping felt like I was opening up a bunch of little gifts to myself, and a handwritten note from the team thanking me for my purchase. An enjoyable experience I am keen to revisit as I will inevitably need more pens/ink/stationary, and am likely to purchase here again.

Suzanne Fortner

Google
They have sooo many products here. I had a great visit! They are busy so it gets a little crowded but everyone is in their happy place. Looking forward to getting back there again.

Google
PENAPOCALYPSE 🤯 The pen store. The paper store. The desk bin store. Yes this is Yoseka Pens #1. Opened in 1893, this shop offers the best selection of pens and notebooks. They’ll even teach you how to write with a fountain pen! (I was doing it wrong.) The atmosphere is cozy and occasionally cramped but I’m just happy for them. They are selling pens and paper like it’s nobody’s business. Go and walk to the pier after. At first you’ll be like, “This place is creepy, am I gonna see a body washed up on the rocks?” and then you will be thanking me cause it’s just the best Thanks 🌅

Google
Fabulous location. Daisy and Neil and their staff are amazing. Kind and very helpful. I ordered my Hobonichi "haul" after they had the countdown. They are terrific about responding to emails and did great at updating my delivery. The store is cozy, but there is always a lot to see.......a must visit for stationary fans!!!!

Giselle C

Google
This is such a cute stationary store with lots of great selections on hobonichis, Midori, fountain pens, and everything in between. Staff are very friendly and helpful and you can try pens before purchasing.

Google
This is by far the best stationary store I’ve been to outside of Japan and in the past I’ve exclusively shopped there. I cannot praise enough the incredibly lovely staff here. I have mainly always had Selena help me and honest to god she is quite possibly the sweetness person alive. She always helps me find the best pen and is so patient with me when I go through millions of ink samples. She has been so instrumental in my knowledge of fountain pens and my growing collection. I do get my traveller’s notebooks here too and other pens. I swear if I had more money I would buy more pens. I literally just got my Tokyo Traveller’s today and can’t wait to use it.

Yelp
We almost missed Yoseka, but luckily, our rather questionable path led us straight to this charming little stationery shop (this is why my bad habits stay). Yoseka is a delightful haven for anyone with a passion for stationery, offering everything you could possibly need. From stamps, stickers, and pens to inks, journals, and other writing essentials, this place has it all. My friend and I stumbled upon Yoseka, and it quickly became a favorite, especially for my friend who was thrilled by the variety and quality of the items. It's one of those rare finds that you don't necessarily plan to visit but end up loving. The staff at Yoseka are incredibly nice and super friendly, enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend giving this place a shot if you're in the market for stationery. Whether you're starting a new journal or just love collecting beautiful writing supplies, Yoseka is a must-visit.

Yelp
I recently got back from a trip to Taiwan and didn't know what big stationery heads the Taiwanese were! The owner of this stationery shop grew up in a store much like this one in Taiwan and explains that in Asia, people's choices around their notebooks, planners, pens, and tape are all ultra specific and customized to their needs, which is why such a wide variety of planners and notebooks can be on offer in any individual stationery store. Unlike China, where they have a very cell phone and technology reliant economy, Taiwan still felt analog in many ways. Cash was still king, as credit card payments weren't widely accepted, and people did indeed seem to rely more on handwritten signs and notes than digital ones. Fascinating! So it was with this in mind that I browsed both Yoseka and stationery shops on my trip. I came away with a leather bound planner for my own bullet journaling and a much fancier one as a gift for my friend who recently graduated college. You can pay to have them wrap gifts for you here too.

Yelp
Love everything about this place! Im a stationary gurl and into fountain pens alot. Finally received my first gold nib and the staff was so helpful help me choose the ink without rushing me... i can literally stay here the whole day for a huge collection of fountain ink. Will return to shop for more.

Yelp
This stationary store is pure magic, the staff are knowledgeable, the selection of items offered are special and beautifully organized. It's the kind of place you are excited about before and after your visit.

Yelp
Absolutely love stationary stores. Maybe it's the former teacher in me, but there's something about fresh pens and unused notepads and notebooks. What's even nicer about Yoseka Stationary is its unassuming location in Greenpoint. I also love that they give you a brand new pen instead of people using purchasing the floor models (I.e. like at Muji). There were so many different types of gel pens, regular pens, and quill pens to choose from as well as other pieces of stationary. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Donna R.

Yelp
I love going to this store every time I'm in New York. The selection is amazing. The staff are usually very good. This time, I encountered one staff member who wasn't particularly helpful, but another staff member went above and beyond to find the product I wanted to see. Definitely make a stop here if you love all things stationary.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute little place to stop in they have stamps and so many pens! I took a separate trip just for this!

Yelp
Yoseka Stationery is a Taiwanese stationery shop that carries a great selection of Japanese notebooks and organizers (if you like grids, this is the place!); they also have cards, erasers, stationery, pencils/pens, stamps, stickers, and washi tape. I loved that in the center, you can try out the different types of pens and their calligraphy pens - the price range is pretty wide, so you're bound to find something that is within your budget. This is definitely more of a 'sophisticated' stationery shop, and I loved their vintage decor and collections. The staff here are very kind and welcoming, and they allow you to peruse to your heart's content. They are readily available to answer any and all questions, too! Cute spot to stop by to check out if you're in the area! +Taiwanese stationery shop +great selection of Japanese planners and organizers +friendly and kind service

Yelp
First, rare but I found parking on a Saturday evening right around the corner. This store is the cutest. And gives all the vibes of fall/winter season. I love the variety. I felt like a "kid in a candy store." The people who work there are incredibly kind and ready to help. & they did. Great service! And it's not expensive whatsoever. You can easily walk out with something. I took a couple of pens and all under 7 dollars. Will be back.

Yelp
What an extra ordinary place! My husband and I wanted to spend our Vday in Brooklyn yesterday and I saw this place on youtube. We stopped by here around 3pm. Yoseka had a Travelers Diner special event until 7pm that weekend. This shop was the highlight of our Brooklyn day! Upon entering the shop its already super crowded. The Travelers stamps were on the left. I was so ready with my 3 new years planners lol. I did not expect there was another station next to it - a whole sampling station?!?!? So many washis and stationary I've never seen before. My sister fully decorated a few pages of one of my planners. That's how many samples they let you try!!! Around the shop walls you'll see every section has its own theme: notebooks, cute stuff, a huge ink section I hear swatches is a thing. The center table has special paper, pens, highlighters, beginner fountain pens! There's a frixion pen I've been looking for. It's $8 at least else where. Here it's $3.50! I can't wait to come back - I'm already making a list: hobonichi 5year planner, fountain pens and inks. The staff are all so welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable about stationary. They are ready to help you and refill places in the store, even though the shop can be super crowded. How do they do that lol Parking is hard to find. We must have circled a bit before being able to find one. This shop is worth the trip - this is a must to check out!

Yelp
Very small and cute Taiwanese-based stationary store in Brooklyn. Decent selection of notebooks from Midori, Hobonichi, etc along with a WIDE selection of pens/pencils, as well as fountain pens to try in the center of the store. Also, higher end fountain pens stored away closer to the cashier. Their in store selection seems to beat any other stationary store we had came across in the NYC area including Manhattan and Flushing. Quite impressive ! They have a huge selection of inks as well ! Lots of erasers, washi tapes, stamps, pencil sharpeners, stickers, etc too ! All the staff are widely knowledgable about all of their stock. Only complaint? Such limited hours/days opened AND in Brooklyn (i'm not from NY... heh) A MUST VISIT if you are into stationary and pens ! Random side note - restrooms available in the middle of the building on the 2nd floor.

Yelp
The most lovely Taiwanese stationery shop, with the kindest staff! From the wooden tables and shelves to the potted plants and handwritten notes encouraging shoppers to try out pens -- it's charming inside. There's a ton of notebooks, pens, fountain pens, washi tape, stickers, stamps, and other stationery accessories to browse. It's not the largest store, so it can get a bit crowded. There's a long table spanning across the middle of the room, with a bunch of pens available for testing. It's nice how the staff will grab new pens separate from the tester pens when you're ready. The store is super well-organized, and the staff are knowledgeable and diligent in keeping things tidy. I left with a couple of pens and rolls of washi tape. As I was checking out, I was helped by Christine, who was really pleasant to talk with - thank you! (Also +1 for Yoseka's Youtube channel!)

Yelp
Yoseka is such a gem! This store is the sister store to the original Yoseka in Taiwan. I think it's in a perfect area of New York and serves a niche group of people but everyone can find something they like there. All of the staff members are super nice and knowledgeable. Yoseka really tries to hire people who want to be there, it feels. There's a lot of Knick-knacks around the store but everything has order to it. In the middle, there's an island of pens you can try out. Ranges of products are a few bucks to hundreds of dollars for a snazzy pen you can get refills for.
google avatar

Yelp
Yoseka is such a special independently-owned shop with the sweetest owners (Daisy and Neil) and staff! Everyone is so passionate and knowledgable about stationery. I'm so grateful a stationery shop of its high caliber exists in New York -- you can find so many brands and items here, particularly from overseas. It's definitely a must-visit for stationery aficionados. One of the focal points of the store is their pen bar right in the center of the store. There are so many different types of ballpoint, gel, and fountain pens, and markers to try. I've especially enjoyed visiting recently to test out different fountain pens. You get such personalized service here, I don't think any other store quite compares. It's also not intimidating at all to shop around. Yoseka is also a Traveler's Company partner store, so they'll host Traveler's Notebook events from time to time. Most recently, they had the diner celebration and the stamp caravan. For the niche TN journaling community, it's one of the best places to pick up refills and notebooks. If you're a stationery lover or need to buy gifts for one, Yoseka is truly the place to go to (or order online!) A gem in Greenpoint, where there is also so much good food and shops to visit. Make a day of it!

Pamela M.

Yelp
I am so excited to have found Yoseka online since I live across the United States. They take such good care of orders. They always add a personal thank you note. I watch all their YouTube videos on what's new and how products work. Daisy and Neil you have an amazing business and employees. Thanks Pam
google avatar

Ira K.

Yelp
Really nice and accommodating staff. Bent over to help me. They have a huge fountain pen ink selection. That they cheerfully decant and sell reasonably priced samples
google avatar

Brenda B.

Yelp
I recently ordered from the shop online after finding their YouTube Channel. They have a great selection and value! I picked up the new Kaweco Sport in Apricot Pearl, a small bottle of Diamine in Salamander, and a sample of Sailor Manyo in Sakura. I received my package quickly, wrapped with care and even a handwritten note! I'm so excited I found a small family-owned business to support as I journey through my new stationery and fountain pen hobby!

Yelp
I didn't think I'd ever be writing a review for a stationery store... but someone gifted me some pens from these folks that were really super. I became a mail-order customer, and I look forward to stopping by next time I'm in NY. Wonderful selection of pens and notebooks, and they send a hand-written thank-you card. Sweet.

Yelp
Highlights: Fountain pens, ink, paper, Hobonichi, washi tape, rubber stamps. Phenomenal selection, staff, and service. Honestly, I think that Yoseka Stationery is the best stationery shop in NYC, and I've had a stationery problem for 20+ years. This is going to sound like a paid review, but I swear it's not. I'm just so excited after finding out about this shop a year ago and have made several online and in-store purchases. As a fountain pen enthusiast, I'm always looking to find small shops to support. It is so difficult to shop for fountain pens, especially for anyone who's new to the hobby. I wish Yoseka had existed when I first got into fp's over 10 years ago. I remember walking into another well-known fp shop in NY back then and being extremely intimidated. I felt pressured and judged by the salespeople (looking young always works against me when shopping). I ended up walking out without getting any of my questions answered, and feeling almost ashamed to have tried to buy a pen without any knowledge and thinking I could spend less than $30. Well, not at Yoseka. The shop is super cozy and inviting, and the staff is super kind. They offer a really amazing range of fountain pen (and SO MUCH STATIONERY) products from entry level to more luxury, hard-to-find pieces. The store is set up so that you can try their entire offering of pens and inks. I can't stress how much of a luxury this is. Shopping for a fountain pen, especially your first one, is a very personal experience. You can't tell from an online photo if you will love a pen or not. The staff is always ready to answer questions, whether you're looking to spend $15 on your first pen, or $1000+ on your umpteenth pen. There's no judging and they just genuinely want to share the love of pens, inks, and all things stationery. To add to that, they offer some of the best Asian stationery that you will not find anywhere else. Especially when it comes to Taiwanese goods; they are one of the only places I know that have such a strong tie to Taiwanese vendors. I can't say enough good things about this shop. And the cherry on top is that their website is actually really up-to-date and easy to navigate. They offer a very low threshold for free domestic shipping, and always ship ultra fast (with very good packaging). I love me a well designed, user-friendly website. Side note: Can I add that most people these days have been spoiled by the big rainforest retailer's almost instant shipping? It is so expensive for small businesses to compete with, especially with the current pandemic and logistics crisis. Offering any free shipping option at all is a huge gesture, must less to keep it competitive with big corporations. Just in general, please support your local mom-an-pop shop; support your neighbors. This place is just too good.

Yelp
I ordered some inks from Yoseka after reading about their own brand of ink made in Taiwan. You don't hear much about Asian produced inks so I purchased their ink as well a Korean made line. Order came within a week and it was nicely packed. Great customer service.

Yelp
I discovered Yoseka Stationery through the Instagram planner community. I've been hooked ever since. You can tell Daisy and staff have a passion for the products they sell. It looks like such a fun and supportive place to work! Every package I've received is cutely wrapped and has been personalized with a kind note. They even pay attention to what you've ordered in the past! I am always excited to receive my goodies from Yoseka. I look forward to watching their journey as the business grows.
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit at Yoseka Stationery! They have a vast assortment of, pens, pencils, paper/letter, books, ink, etc! I recently came here because i found an old fountain pen and decided to try using it and needed ink. That has so many ink type. A kind staff helped me out by explaining the different types of ink based on the potential use, pigment level etc. i decided to be basic and chose a black that would be easy to clean and they offer a sample size for around $3.50! Super affordable if you're interested in trying out a potential new hobby and can look to test different inks and colors in the future. It's also located close to the Greenpoint Terminal Market so go check that out while you're in the area if you're visiting in the summer!

Yelp
Beautiful space. Impeccably curated inventory. The kindest, most knowledgeable retail staff you will find anywhere. Cannot recommend Yoseka enough.
google avatar

Yelp
I have ordered twice from Yoseka for delivery. Both of my purchases arrived on time, carefully packaged, and with a personalized little note. Yoseka will continue to be frequent online shopping destination for my pen, ink, and stationery needs.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Fantastic variety of stationery and incredible service. I will be shopping with them again!

Yelp
*Online order review* I was in the market for a new mechanical pencil and some reporter's notebooks, and I really wanted to give my business to a local stationary retailer. Yelp led me to Yoseka, and I navigated to their easy-to-use website, where I found a moderate selection of supplies. Yoseka's stock of mechanical pencils and erasers was particularly aesthetically pleasing, so I'd highly recommend that you check here first if you need writing utensils. I settled on 2 Rhodia No. 13 lined orange notebooks, 2 Rhodia No. 16 lined orange notebooks, and the Staedtler 925 35-05 navy blue mechanical 0.5 mm pencil. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, the rapid speed of shipping, or the exceptional packaging (Yoseka even included a handwritten thank you note!). Thank you, Yoseka! You're this writer's new go-to!
google avatar

Yelp
Staff is always lovely, knowledgeable, and friendly! A must visit for any stationery enthusiasts. All my online orders are always shipped quickly and packaged with care. :)

Yelp
This store makes me have hope. Amazing customer service by people who actually care about their customers. Although I only have made two transactions here, they went above and beyond both times. I will definitely be shopping here from now on.

Yelp
this place is sooooooooo cute def worth the visit. It's spacious inside and the ambiance is moody. They've got a large selection of high quality pens, stamps, notebooks, travel notebooks, washi tape, and storage containers for stationary. You're able to sample and try a lot of their items too! Def coming back!
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of high quality pens and there used to be a lot more of these types of shops when I was younger but not anymore. Was so pleasantly to happen on this shop while walking around and was excited to try every pen they had! Really great variety of choices here and there is something for everyone. Got myself a few new pens and was a very happy customer! Service was friendly and attentive.
google avatar

Yelp
Thanks to Yoseka I've found my favorite pen -- the Zebra Sarasa -- that I write with every day, I have discovered my favorite notebook, the mnemosyne, and I have come to find out that I am a bit of washi tape enthusiast. Neil and Daisy are a great team and I am so grateful to them for giving me access to such a rich variety of stationery and for being such kind and awesome people.

Charles D.

Yelp
I was looking for some Pilot S 30 pencils and found Yoseka Stationary online. Amazingly, they were the best price, even with shipping, than anyone else around. I was presently surprised when my purchase came as quickly as it did, packaged in a lovely bag inside the mailer with a seal on it. I purchased another pilot S 30 and found the same meticulous packaging, this time with nice card thanking me for my purchase and a lovely lapel pin with their logo. I just have to say these people are really super! Great prices, super customer service. You can buy with complete confidence from these folks. Needless to say, they are my source writing supplies from here on! All the Best to Them! Chuck Burton Ohio

Yelp
Yoseka stationery sparks so much joy. The owners and staff members of this small stationery business are phenomenal. Yoseka exemplifies how to run a great local business who values and loves their customers. It really adds a special touch that you cannot get from a big box store or Amazon. It's so vital to have a vibrant and lovely shop that has the best and latest pens, planners, fair prices, great organization. They will make things right. Stationery lovers unite!!!

Yelp
I never knew this store existed in Queens until fairly recently when I was down the instagram rabbit hole of traveler's notebook lovers. Found IG user (shoutout to storiedpages) and saw that he came here alot. Came here on a weekend and the store was packed with people. Small but had LOADs of goodies. It was actually dangerous for me and my pocketbook. I was like a kid in a candy store. My love for cute stationery and paper goods came back to life. (It was on a hiatus for awhile.) I spent a good amount of time in here and I did not feel rushed at all. It is a small place but dang, I wanted everything!!! The lady who helped me was super sweet and showed me how to use rub-on stickers too. I am already getting the itch to come back.... save me....
google avatar

Suzanne S.

Yelp
I have only ordered from Yoseka online but every single time I got my order quickly, we'll packaged and with a nice extra note included. Daisy and Neil are so nice, so professional and a joy to order from. Any time I have a question, they reply promptly too. I order from them for their excellent service and good prices, as I get a better experience than even buying fountain pens and quality paper (and Traveler's Company supplies) locally.

Aaron D.

Yelp
Great customer service, quick responses. Website is professional and easy to use. They offer some of the best product on the market.

Yelp
i am a sucker for stationery and loved this place. there was great variety in the products: - grid notebook, traveler notebook, memo pads - all types of pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, colors to test out on the counter in the middle of the store - scents, bookmarks, stamps, stickers, etc overall so calming and fun to be inside the store. the employees are great at giving you space to explore and will immediately grab the item you need. coming back again for sure!

Yelp
This is a beautifully appointed stationary shop in Sunnyside. The owners have transformed this tiny space into a stationary wonderland with a well curated variety of pens, pencils, markers and other art pieces for your every need and fancy--all which you are free to try. Yoseka also stocks a lovely collection of drawing books and note pads for every occassion/writing need you can imagine and is a great option for gifts with its nicely curated assortment of stickers, stamps, cards, leather pencil cases and related items. Definitely a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Adrienne C.

Yelp
This place is a little gem. Neil and Daisy are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The store is wonderfully laid out and every time I go, not a thing is out of place. The store is also well stocked to accommodate a variety of budgets. The first time I went to the store I purchased a fountain pen and the second, I went in for a budget priced gel pen. I must note the budget gel pen is of the upmost quality. They let you try all the pens on very nice paper so you can make an informed purchase. When you buy your fountain pen, they also fill up the ink so you can get right to using it. Such a great idea. Don't waste any time and get out to see them. You won't regret it.
google avatar

D. J. H.

Yelp
For those who enjoy using a fountain pen, your new addiction is here. Once you spend a little time here, you are bound to fall in love with a new pen, bottle of ink, or paper/notebook. Just give in and buy it, or all three! The owners are very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about all the the products they sell. The pen selection is not full of the usual suspects, but rather curated to represent the more unique designs available, in a range of prices that anyone can find their sweet spot. Yes, you can try the pens. You can try them on a variety of papers. And you can test out some amazing inks. For pen lovers, this is your D*sneyland. The shop is small, I mean, cozy, and that's not a bad thing. The walls are packed to the gills with products, and there's a table in the center where you'll find and test out the pens. The range of brands are limited, but they are well-known and respected brands, and are wroth considering if you were going there for something else. For example, I was interested in some inks from Diamine or Herbin, which they do not carry, but fell in love with a line of high-end Pilot inks they have. This is a small business where the owners have clearly poured their heart and soul into it, and it feels as intimate there as if you were invited into someone's home (if they were obsessive collectors of pens). I've been to plenty of stationers over many years (decades), and this place really stands out. There is no pressure to buy, and I felt like I was well-taken care of. I only bought a pen the first trip, but I've already been back for ink and paper. I'll be back for more!

Yelp
Yoseka is a pen and stationery wonderland! Everything inside this tiny shop is what is missing in every other stationery store in all of New York. It has excellent attentive & knowledgeable customer service, top notch selection, beautiful store set up and reasonable prices for gorgeous masterpieces you can write with. Best stationery shop I have been to was in Montreal but Yoseka topped it. Good job guys!
google avatar

Angeline P.

Yelp
This is an excellent stationery shop in a neighborhood where there aren't many options. This is not your budget Morning Glory -- everything is carefully curated, so expect to pay a little more for high quality supplies. Neil and Daisy are very kind and chatted with us about the various journaling notebooks, and what may best serve what we're looking for. As a journaling nerd who is constantly looking for better ways to collect data, this is an excellent place to peruse and brainstorm. They also offer calligraphy classes, in case you are looking to improve your penmanship. I'm really excited about the addition of this shop to the neighborhood!

Yelp
If you love pens, then this is a must go place. I used to go to Muji for their pens until I discovered this place driving by. I found my all time favorite HiTech C pens and bought as many as I could. Now they do curb side pick up. I'm so happy they are still in business. Let's show them love and continue to support them.

Faye L.

Yelp
I can't think of a store I'd want to support more than this one. Incredibly reasonable prices, the best pens I have ever used, and some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. These people are legitimately passionate about their pens and stationery. I'll be referring everyone I know here.

Yelp
Yoseka Stationery has the absolute best selection of paper, notebooks, fountain pen inks, gel pens, and many other wonderful stationery items, in New York City-hands down. On top of that, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you enjoy writing, or want to put a little extra pleasure into the pens and paper that you use everyday, this is a must-visit shop. They also ship items easily which makes things even more convenient.

Yelp
I dont like yelp but I logged in just for this review. A lot of stationery stores will try to cover as large of a base as possible and just buy a lot of inventory to pack their shelves. Despite the tiny size of the store, it is absolutely packed with quality stylish curated products. I've easily spent more than an hour circling the store for stickers, tapes, or misc stationery. You might drop by for quality paper, or for cutesy stationery, washi tape, stickers, or even fountain pens. Whatever you're interested in everything is quality and for such a small store they seem to have something for everyone. Pens, markers, fountain pens are available on the table for you to try before you buy. Understandably, not many retailers are open to letting the customer have free reign over testing pens. At Yoseka you can see how the pen feels for you. Pictures online or descriptions of weight or nib size and type can't compare to testing the pen in person. For me, it's a commute to get to Yoseka, but I always find myself wanting to return to the store and the travel time is more than worth the visit If you're into stationery at all or especially if you're into fountain pens you should drop by Yoseka

Yelp
Great stationary shop! I ordered online and picked up in store and then browsed and shopped some more. Ample space to try out the main pen and pencil options. Staff are friendly and helpful too and gave me a couple of samples of paper.

Yelp
It just so happened that on my latest trip up to NY, Becky Park was doing a calligraphy class - I signed up and got to experience first hand just how under-utilized my fine motor skills really are. Becky was a fantastic teacher - I just wish I could take more classes from her! Daisy and Neil were kind enough to let me hang out in the store for 2 hours after the class and pretty much try out every single pen. I decided on the Twsbi mini fountain pen that fits juuuuust right, and once again sighed over the Sen Handmade Classic Yoseka edition fountain pen that I will definitely buy one day! Not to mention the FriXion stamps and pen and washi tape and stickers - as always, looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Good selection for many Asian brand pens and fountain pen. Their trying area is great. Haven't seen anything like this in NY. Bought 2 fountain pens and 1 ball pen. Excellent and friendly staffs.
