YOTEL Washington DC

Our overall stay at YOTEL Washington DC was fantastic, but the check-in process was a major drawback. Despite our room being promised for 3 PM, we weren’t able to check in until around 5:30 PM, which was extremely frustrating—especially since we had evening plans and needed time to get ready. To make matters worse, there was only one person working the front desk, leading to very long waits of 30 minutes or more. Once we finally got to our room, it was wonderful—modern, clean, and comfortable. The bar was also a great spot to grab a drink, and the hotel coffee was excellent. A big bonus was the convenient location—we were able to walk to Capital One Arena, which was a huge plus. The parking deck was tight, but manageable with our size vehicle. Checking out was another hassle, as we had to wait in line again just to get our parking voucher since we had prepaid for parking with our reservation. Despite these inconveniences, the hotel itself was excellent, and the staff was very nice. If they could streamline their check-in and check-out process, it would be a near-perfect stay. Would consider staying again, but hoping for a smoother experience next time!

Went in January so I didn’t do much walking but it is a walking distance away from the greyhound station which was half the reason i booked it! Loved the gym. My favorite amenity was the water stations; usually my first quest after checking in is to find a 7/11 so I can purchase a gallon of water and not worry about hydration. Then I discover the ice/water machine I was awestruck. This was made for people like me in mind! The lights in the room were calming and fun. The adjustable bed was super high tech wasn’t expecting that! Only con is that they don’t provide WASHCLOTHS. This was a little crazy to me and honestly will make me consider booking with them again. Other than that I enjoyed my stay all the staff were super helpful and welcoming I had no issues feeling comfortable. I just used a hand towel to wash up. They have a $35 daily resort fee that can jack your total price up jsyk. But they do give you a $10 credit to use at the bar so that’s nice

I wouldn’t stay here again if was free. First of all, there was no hot water. To say it was room temperature is a stretch. It seemed to get colder every day (probably as it was colder outside) and was unbearable by the last day. I at least expect a hot shower from a four star hotel. The sheets were paper thin and there was no fitted sheet on the bed (just another top sheet) which meant the sheets moved around all night and we ended up on the mattress a lot—which was just gross. While the water was cold, the room was ridiculously hot and even after we turned the heater off it still continued to get hotter overnight, ending up about 76 by the morning. We asked the front desk if someone could look at our heat situation because we were up sweating all night and they said they would check into it and move us if necessary, but by the time we got to the hotel again that night the shifts had changed and no one knew what I was talking about. I booked through a third-party website that did not include the fact that there was a $35/day resort fee…at check in I asked if it was mandatory considering it is January and the pool is closed anyway, but was told it is always billed and comes with a $10/day food allowance at the restaurant. However, the restaurant is so over priced that we couldn’t even get a dessert for $10 and ended up just skipping it. Don’t get tricked by the nice atmosphere in the lobby or the neat gadgets like color-changing room lights and complimentary water/coffee stations on every floor….especially since the water machine didn’t even work on our floor. Save your money and go to a much nicer hotel for the same price.

My experience was good, everything I needed was provided. However, I was charged a $200 Damage fee that I know for a fact that I'm not responsible for. I was already checked out when I was charged. I wasn't provided photos, evidence, or report/ details from the hotel about what they found to charge me that. As of now, i am promised a callback 24 hours from now, and I did make an email to the manager about this manner. But for those visiting, still recommend this place to stay, just make sure to use your credit card so your cash is protected.

Positive: The room was clean, modern and well appointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Just know that if your room has a glass ?barn door? for the bathroom, there is an entire closet behind that door where the fridge, hairdryer and additional items live! Negative: ""

Location could not be better if you are into the museums. I walked everywhere or took a scooter. Union station was .5 miles. Walked to a Wizards game at Capital one arena. Wish the restaurant was less expensive and the 35 bucks a night hotel fee was a bummer. Still- I paid about 130 a night with the fee. Cheap for a 4 star hotel. Coffee on every floor was awesome! If you don’t like tech may not be the easiest to navigate. They held my luggage after checkout for 3 hrs for free. The staff was good. I have a hearing issue- veteran- lady got a little frustrated with me because I only hear about 2/3 of anything. My fault for not telling her. The gentleman who works evenings was polite and informative. Didn’t use the gym, but PF was in Chinatown. Close- walked.

The hotel is in one of the best locations in Washington, as it is very close to the Capitol. It is a preferred location as it is very close to the Mall and all the museums around the Mall. ||The rooms are of medium size and they are a clear 4 stars quality. The room furniture is quite modern and this is the first hotel where I have discovered electrical reclining beds. They are very convenient and confortable and they can help you increase the room size when you are not usin the bed. The bed, when fully flattened, occupies most part of the room and you have to squeeze a chair between the bed and the table.||There is no coffee machine/maker in the room and you cannot prepare not even a cup of tea. BUT, in the hallway, near the elevators, you have a big coffeee machine and an ice maker for your convenience. The coffee machine can prepare also decaf, if this is what you're looking after. ||Underground garrage parking is available but it is expensive. It is 50 USD/night if you don't take your car out and 80 USD/night if you plan multimple exits and entries.||The check-ins and check-outs are fully automated and you have machines on the left hand side of the reception and you can do your own process and the bill will be emailed to you afterwards.||The only negative that I have encountered at this hotel is that, becuase they are fully automated, they do not accept cash at the reception. Although the website is not mentioning any clear restriction regarding the cash payments, the reception refused to take cash for the room payment. I am of the opinion that the cash payment should not become a daily habit but also should not be refused.||Also, beware that the hotel is taking a safety deposit of 100 USD/night of stay as this seems to be the usual business habit for all hotels on the Northen American continent.||Also, beware when using your internation debit/credit card which is issued in your country of residence and which doesn't have behing a bank account in USD. Any other currency behind your card will be subject to currency exchange rates and taxes and that will be an added cost to your hotel stay.||Just to give you an example of the currency exchange loss magnitude, for a three nights stay at this hotel, the debit card was charged an additional 50 USD. So plan also for this cost.||Also, a little nuissance is that the room cleaning starts rattling the door handles of the rooms quite early in the morning so, if you seek not to be disturbed, don't forther to hand the sign outside the door.

For the cost and the location, this is an excellent hotel. A few notes about the room: The room was very hot and stuffy. You cannot set the thermostat below 65°F. Bathrooms did not have proper ventilation and smells/vapor would linger. Otherwise, room was very clean and modern. Lighting was very nice. TV worked great. Beds were far from what I'd expect from a hotel at this rate. Extremely comfortable and easy to adjust. Service from front staff was excellent and I liked the ease of checking in and out at a kiosk. With it's location a couple blocks away from the Capitol, I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting DC to walk the mall and see the monuments and museums.

Basically an IKEA of hotels. Affordable and efficient, not luxurious. Close to the train station, bright and most importantly clean. Small rooms. "Premium" - studio efficiency (bathroom area is just partially glassed off, not its own room - not good for couples); "First Class" - bathroom door. Advertised price is slightly misleading - $35/day "resort fee" will be added (includes $10/night bar credit), and they will also charge a $5 hotel fee if booked direct or a $15 third party booking fee (and 15% tax). For cheapest rates and promos sign up for the free Yotel club and book direct. FYI $100/day incidentals is added at check-in (then adjusted at checkout). Speaking of resort fees: gym is fine (decent for a small hotel gym - a couple of machines and treadmills, and a rack of free weights). Pool is seasonal (was closed). Lobby bar/restaurant (ok price, limited hours), vending machines, no room service. Big TV, small fridge (not very cold, no freezer). Iron, hairdryer, toiletries. Free coffee machines and ice/water machines on every floor. If you're on a budget, it's a decent option. More details: my spouse booked a "Premium king" room (actually the basic room) for an event and I ended up joining last minute. Premium king is a studio efficiency: no separate bathroom - the sink/vanity is out in the open, and just a glassed-off stalls for shower and toilet. It's loud and potentially stinky if sharing a room (I started going to the lobby or gym bathroom to poop). Would say the Premium room is a good value for a younger solo traveler, but not recommended for a couple. I think the "First class" rooms have a pocket door at least, although still fairly small rooms. "View" rooms face the city, not-view rooms face a back alley. I saw some reviews saying comfortable beds (maybe in first class), but ours was hard as a rock. Also the light on the carbon monoxide detector above the bed annoyingly flashes every 10 seconds (in all rooms, apparently), so as someone who is a sensitive sleeper I had to break out the eye mask (and earplugs because of the open bathroom). Needless to say, overall I slept poorly this weekend. Very friendly night staff, though. Mia (manager) and Darnell were excellent.

My husband and I live in Baltimore and were going to be in DC overnight for a concert. We were looking for a hotel in the $200 range that was close to Union Station. Yotel fit the bill and I reserved through a third-party site that was significantly cheaper than booking directly. We were in the room for basically 8 hours, just to sleep. I would say: Pros: -Close (walking distance) to Union Station -Self check-in is easy and quick -Room was clean and quiet (even on a Friday night) -Bathroom was clean -Bed was comfortable -Samsung big screen TV -Free, fast wifi Cons: -$35 resort/amenity fee you have to pay at check-in isn't worth it if you're not staying long enough to use the pool and the gym (it does give you $10 worth of food and beverage credit, but we chose to eat breakfast at Tatte nearby) -Pocket door on bathroom = very little privacy -Lukewarm shower and water pressure isn't great -USB plug adjacent to the bed didn't work and only other one in the room was on the TV (not convenient for having your phone next to you in bed) -No little fridge in room for leftovers or keeping drinks cold I would agree with another reviewer who said it's a lot like a hostel. I would say it's like a more ultra-modern Holiday Inn. It's hard to find safe, clean accommodations in DC for under $200/night, but for a future stay, this wouldn't be my first choice.

Not What I Expected--More Like a Space Pod Meets Hostel Meets Camping I was initially intrigued by Yotel--bright, modern, with lots of movement. The self-check-in process felt fun and futuristic, and stepping into my room with its cool lighting made it feel like I had just entered a sleek space pod. But that's where the shine stopped. Almost immediately, I noticed how much of the experience was designed around cost-cutting measures rather than guest convenience. There was no information at check-in about amenities like the fitness center hours, and my colleague had a strange experience where her room wasn't ready, so she checked in at the front desk and got an upgrade--just for using a person instead of a machine? Odd, but we rolled with it. The biggest inconvenience: no way to make hot water in the room, and the shared dorm-style coffee and water dispenser didn't even offer hot water at night. Clearly a cost-saving move for them but a hassle for guests, especially for those wanting a private, convenient experience. I adjusted my expectations to a hostel mindset, hoping the beds would at least be a fun feature. They looked cool, with their roll-out design, but in reality, they functioned like flimsy pull-out beds--no support in the middle, so I found myself sinking in while the top half lifted awkwardly. I'm a small person, and even I felt the lack of stability. The next morning, I threw on my shoes over my pajamas and ventured out to the communal coffee station, hoping it actually worked (since hot water wasn't available the night before). It did, but the coffee itself was low-quality, burnt, and reminiscent of camping--certainly not what I'd expect in a hotel. Overall, my first experience at Yotel felt like a mix of space pod aesthetics, hostel-style inconveniences, and camping-level amenities. It was recommended for a work trip through the conference, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again. I was curious, but now I know--it's not for me.

this feels too much like a youth hostel to me. maybe that's what they are going for. i've admittedly gotten spoiled as a business traveler so my needs may be different than others who want the cheapest place possible where you can pretty much do what you want and you don't get upset about broken umbrellas and lounge chairs (in photo). in the room having no desk, drawers, or lamps or a real closet was a bit too restrictive/confining for my taste. the bed IS super comfortable, room was clean, vibe was chill, check in was easy, they allow dogs, and location is right across from the hyatt and hilton-more my speed. i just hate hotels where stuff is broken and rooms that are lacking in comfort. people in 20s and 30s hanging out 24/7 is also just not comfortable to me. but our 2nd night the room lights wouldn't go out so at bed time; spent 20 minutes at midnight trying to get lights out via the fancy panel controls. i won't be back here, but i see many people think it's great.

Updated review 6/23/2024 - 2 stars We have spent our anniversary here the last 3 years for a staycation and this will be the last one. This hotel has gone downhill and is currently so poorly maintained and managed. We checked in yesterday and there was an event at the rooftop (bumble and Tito's) so the bar was too busy to even get a drink. The pool was nasty - like a college house party... people were bringing their own drinks up because it was so hard to order a drink with such a long wait. They also weren't serving food (but you could go all the way downstairs and order it at the restaurant and bring it up, so dumb). Then, this morning, the pool was a hot mess. No one did laundry so there were no clean pool towels (just the hamper overflowing with dirty ones). The pool was gross and there was a light with wires hanging inside the pool that had come off. I heard maintenance staff talking to each other about no towels and then another staff member saying they were going to close the pool (talking to each other, not guests). After an hour of no towels, I walked my dripping wet self to the front desk to speak with a manager who promptly made sure to get towels to the pool. The manager seemed frustrated as there request was put in to bring up towels before the pool opened at 8. Then, we got towels, but they were draining the pool without even telling us. After it was partially drained, they came around and told us that it was closed to fix the light that was broken yesterday at the party. The pool is only open 8-8, there's no reason that should not have been fixed during the evening or early morning - not peak hours on a 99° day! Also, we got stuck in the elevator at one point... the maintenance has gone down the toilet here. Finally, we asked for a 30 min late checkout, as we were celebrating our anniversary and had a babysitter until noon and checkout is at 11, but they wouldn't even accommodate that without checking with a manager (which Natavia said was confirmed but no one ever told us) I think we will do hotel Zena or viceroy for our future staycations. Will not be staying here again. If it weren't for the manager Natavia (sp?), this place would be in shambles... but one manager shouldn't have to make everyone do their job. It sounded very exhausting and frustrating.

I stayed for one night after a work conference and really enjoyed the rooftop pool amenity. My room was clean and I loved the design of my room; small but, efficient with hidden closets and drawers for functionality and space. The led lights were a nice touch and the bed was comfy. Although, I didn't have the best experience checking in with staff, the rest of the staff employees were friendly and informative; advising me of places to visit in the DC area and about the additional amenities at the hotel that were available to me that the front desk failed to mention. Besides the unwelcome check-in, I had a pleasant time enjoying the rooftop pool during my stay. The drinks were made delicious at the waiters and bartender checked on me often to make sure I was good and having a good time.

Stayed here for our July 4th staycation. Husband got a discounted rate so we thought it was a great option/value for us. Modern hotel with check in/out kiosks in the lobby. You could also still check in/out with the people behind the desk so it wasn't a complete impersonal experience. The room had colored lighting that you could control by changing the color and intensity. We kept ours to the standard white lighting. The room was clean and spacious. Loved the automatic folding bed that elevated the head up for sitting, reading, and watching TV or lowered it for sleeping. I happened to be suffering from a bout of acid reflux during this time so being able to keep the head elevated a bit while sleeping happened to be great. An unexpected, but much needed perk! The right side of the bed conveniently had two USB charging capability. Two more charging ports were on the side of the TV/mirror frame. Big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion were installed in the bathroom. These are great for those environmentally conscious. Also great for those who have long hair; you don't have to worry about the small bottles containing enough product. Loved, loved the coffee machine on each floor next to the elevator. It was filled with Compass Coffee beans, a great coffee company, that ground the beans after your selection. They had a medium roast, dark, and decaf. The machine had a hot water option, although I think this function want working that well when we were there. Only little very small amounts came out. I had to select the hot water option numerous times to fill my cup for my tea. An ice and water machine was another much appreciated perk since we are always looking for both during our hotel stays. The location was pretty close to the mall and not far from many restaurants in Penn Quarter. There mis a restaurant at the hotel, but we didn't try it. The automatic folding bed and Compass coffee station were the two amenities that did it for me. One thing I did find lacking was a near by convenience store. Since we stayed here for a few days, did find myself needing/looking for one but could find one conveniently located. Would consider this hotel in the future.

pros: friendly staff super comfortable bed cool mood lights that you can change mirrors galore (i love mirrors) walkable to union station shower was quick with the super hot water! (other reviews complained about how there was no hot water) complimentary iced water and coffee on each floor cons: 1 king bedroom is good for one person only, any more than that- youre cramped shower door doesn't completely seal out water (water everywhere outside) although bed folds into a couch, theres not enough furniture (im a clean freak in terms of no outside clothes allowed on the bed!) if youve stayed at a citizen M, the business model is pretty similar. they rely mainly self check-in/check-out kiosks, but there are staff members to help out if anything. this is the third time ive visted dc, and while this goes to the bottom of the hotels i've stayed at (lyle hotel and yours truly dc hotel had a lot more going on imo), i would still recommend this hotel if youre by yourself for a day or two.

This hotel is cheap-looking and my room was not clean. They also took my money and refused to refund it when I accidentally double-booked a room for a night this past week. Very shady.

The only con is the toilet and shower are in separate rooms. If someone decides to blow up the toilet then it will fill the entire room. Rooms are not sound proof, you will hear if someone is yelling, talking super loud, or dropping things. I would stay here again for the price and technology. The lights and ambiance of the room paired with watching Netflix in bed is top tier. I loved the technology check in and learning how to work the lights. It felt easily accessible by Ubers and walking. The bed is the perfect, it's loud when adjusting though. Our room was ready early and there were no additional fees.

This place is extremely modern and posh which set it off from the rest for me honestly. It reminds you of a AC hotel's brand that prides itself on being modern and chic. The biggest difference here was the technology and above and beyond design which included touch screen capability to control everything in the room from the light, curtains, blinds, and backlighting. Also the bed was electric so the foot and head were able to go up and down various levels with the touch of a button. This room was sexy and so was the hotel, from the rooftop full service bar that complimented the pool to the art and soul restaurant downstairs. I would also like to add that there is no need to pay for a cabana as surrounding the pool you will find plenty of free seating, couches and lounges. I also enjoyed the ability to do contact less check in and check out. Will for sure be seeking this brand as I travel.

The stay started off great, simple room and basic layout. Saturday July 20th, 2024 was not a great day for the pool or restaurant bar as ALL staff called out. A rooftop pool with NO bar ? Where were the managers that could have stepped in and kept the bar open ? I hope that the issue is resolved as visitors will not be pleased with the lack of staffing. Thank goodness the housekeeping and kitchen staff came to work. Will not be booking here again.

I stayed here for a biz trip and I enjoyed this hotel. First of all, it's so close to the Union Station as it took me only 8 minutes by running with my suitcase to catch the train. I also enjoyed the adjustable bed which is so comfortable for before sleep reading and the mattress is very comfortable too. I liked the table and lighting above it for extra work and meeting in the evening time. The main lighting fixture with multiple colors seems very redundant - it looks modern and sleek but actually doesn't add much values to the stay at all, at least not for me. I never got a chance to use the other amenities at the hotel such as the gym and the pool since it's just a short biz trip. The only downside of my stay was that the curtain couldn't be opened at all!

Decent room in a good location, but the service isn't that great. They won't bring anything to your room you order, you can't order food on the rooftop, the coffee machines all don't work, and there was food on the pillow on my couch. You have to wait forever for the elevators. Most of the staff know English as a second language, and time does not seem like a big deal to them. They will keep you waiting at check-in or for whatever you need.

Not bad! Would stay here again for work. I wish I got the name of the lady who helped me check in and check out was the sweetest - she saw me struggling with the kiosks and just called me over and took care of everything. The whole shtick for the hotel is a cross between space station/super modern. Just know that they're super committed to it with the names (like the deck for the rooftop bar and station crew for the employees). I didn't mind and the whole lighting in the room took me less than a minute to figure out. That said, on my last day, the lighting fixture seemed stuck on "Purple/Red." I was about to leave (and resolved the problem by just opening the blinds for some natural light), but if I was staying longer, I'd be mildly annoyed. The room was a little small by DC standards (so palatial by NYC measures). I liked that you could adjust the height of the top of the bed. Basic amenities, good shower setup. I'd probably bring my own shampoo/conditioner next time, the Urban Jungle bottles they provided dried out my hair. The temperature/pressure of the shower could be a lot better. Free coffee/water/ice on every floor by the elevators. Didn't get to try the gym or the breakfast/restaurant. I bring ear plugs and an eye mask every time I travel, so can't speak to how loud everything was at night but I will say I woke up, parched, at around 1am and got up to get a cup of water - it was completely quiet on my floor at least. I saw some reviews about the sketchiness of the neighborhood - I didn't have any issues whatsoever. You're right by Union Station and a ton of other hotels/office buildings.

My friend and I decided to take a weekend trip out of New York City for Labor Day weekend. She did some research and found this hotel that also has a pool because she knows how much I love a hotel with a pool :) I've always wanted to go to Yotel located in Manhattan, but never got a chance to so I am glad she found one there in DC. I took my son along with us as well and he was so excited. Upon arrival I immediately started taking pictures lol. The lobby area was clean and nice with a sitting area. They have a nice little coffee machine if you need your caffeine fix for purchase and the bar/restaurant over to your far right upon entering. There's also a vending machine with snacks for purchase. Of course our room was not ready because check in time is 3 o'clock which I still don't understand why hotels have that rule? You're practically wasting the whole day. We were told by the front desk clerk that there is a room ready but we would have to pay a $50 early check-in fee..When we got that information my friend and I looked at each other and said that made absolutely zero sense if there's a room ready and we are here why can't we check in? Why do we have to pay an extra $50? We did not pay the extra because it doesn't make any sense. That was the only negative I have on this hotel. We were able to leave our bags while we rome around to kill time until our "" room was ready"" After our walk around the area we finally came back to the hotel to check into our room. We were located on the sixth floor. As we walked into our room everything looked exactly like the pictures on there site which I appreciate and love. I honestly loved everything about the room besides the view......there was none hence, the reason I kept the curtain closed the entire weekend. I love the reclining bed and I actually want to purchase one for myself in my own home. There was a little control on the desk next to our beds that controls the lights in the room and we were able to change the lights to different colors which I am a big fan of. The bathroom was great and my favorite part. besides the lights in our hotel room have to be the power button to turn the shower on and off. I mean it doesn't get any better than that. The water temperature was already set so just to be able to push a button and have the shower come on was the best thing since sliced bread. I am definitely going to invest in that when I purchase my home. There was a nice size TV and a small mini fridge available in the room. I do wish that a microwave would've been included for late night eats in our room. Down the hall was the complimentary ice machine and coffee maker which I went to check out. I got a cup of ice to cool my warm drink but instead I begin to snack on the little nugget sized ice cubes and let me tell you that was the best ice I have ever eaten in life no lie l. My son tasted it and he he wanted his own cup. I tried to convince my friend to try it but she politely refused, but then ended up getting it the following night lol. She agreed with me when I said the ice nuggets was great. I need a ice machine like that. Where can I buy it? Seriously I've never tasted soft ice if that's a good way to describe it (: It was just great to munch on like a little snack. The pool area was fairly nice lots of sitting areas, but because of the hot sun you'd want to stay in a shaded area, which was near to none lol.. there were also cabanas there, but from what I was told and the research my friend did they are super expensive. We didn't eat at the restaurant within the hotel, but we did decide to have a drink at the bar in the lobby. Our mixologist James was super cool. I asked him if he could make us an Amaretto Sour and he did and he said we were able to take it back to our room which was pretty cool only because I had my son there with me and he's only nine lol. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay there and I do intend on going back. I do recommend.

This hotel is in a great location! Close to union station if you're coming in by train. Walking distance to everything . Our room was nice and clean .

Good from far, but far from good. The bad: -if your coming for the pool, you will be disappointed. They do not allow you to bring drinks or food. Which makes no sense because if you spend money to stay here you should be able too. -the food at the pool is trash and expensive. -the cabanas are $500. This is ridiculously and not even in Miami is it this much. Crazy. -check in early/checkout late is an automatic $50 which is charged via self check in. No way around it. -rooms are small -no umbrellas for the pool so if you want to sit in 100 degree weather with no shade this might be your place The good: -art and soul restaurant. Which you can come regardless if you stay at the hotel or not. They truly need to re-group and re-think what is logical and practical. Such a disappointment.

Clean, great location, friendly staff, comfortable bed, and relatively inexpensive. For Yotel's price, it can't be beat. A few downsides: the hallway ceiling is weirdly low. Not sure why that is, but the ceiling in the room is normal height so it's no big deal. The water pressure for the sink was way too low. Finally, there was an intense sewage smell in the parking garage. Overall, and except for the very strange smell issue, Yotel is well organized and clean. Keep your expectations in check and you'll really like it. If you want luxury, go elsewhere and be prepared to pay for it. Great job, Yotel!

My husband and I absolutely loved the Yotel in Washington DC! Our stay over the Fourth of July holiday went very smoothly thanks to the staff at the Yotel. The hotel is easy to get to and is also in a convenient location. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile. You can either check-in at the front desk or the self-service kiosks they have. We opted for the self-service kiosks. It was super easy and quick! Once we got to our room, it was all lit up and cleaned up for our 5-night stay. The room is smaller than typical hotel rooms, but for a couple that planned on spending their days in DC being tourists, it was perfect! We loved the coffee bar that was available on every floor and the rooftop bar and pool deck was a plus as well! The staff was so kind- from the front desk to the bellman, to the cleaning crew. My husband has a meeting at checkout time and the manager kindly gave us complimentary late checkout so he could take his meeting! We couldn't thank her enough. Also, they had someone painting the hallways on our last day. It showed me they care about the upkeep of the hotel. This management takes cleanliness and comfort very seriously and it makes a big difference! Overall, the Yotel DC is a great, comfortable, modern spot if you're looking for somewhere to stay in DC!

Here for a conference for work and they do not allow outside food. Provided lunch which was barely edible. Will not be retuning after this 2 day conference.

They charge a $25 resort fee and there's not a single microwave in the hotel. There's a coffee machine on each floor, but nowhere to pop a bag of popcorn? Management should buy at least one to leave in a common area on one of the guest floors. This is just another in a growing breed of hotels that are more concerned with Instagram photos than actually taking care of guest needs.

Stayed here last week and the folks who work here are beyond amazing! They get a 100/10 for me! I want to give a special shout-out to three folks who not only helped make our stay wonderful, but who had such a positive impact on me. These three amazing people are some highlights of our trip. I will start with Zaleena who works in housekeeping. Zaleena is a ray of sunshine. She has such a radiant, kind personality and loves making sure you have all you need to get the best stay possible. I saw her early in the morning working hard and I was greeted with such a warm and genuine smile. We conversed for a little and that begin our daily interactions. She has a lasting impact on my heart. Next, I would love to talk about Mia! What a sweet sweet woman! Her presence exudes warmth and comfort. She was so kind and attentive and always had the most contagious positivity. Embarrassingly, we were a little needy the first night and she made us feel like every request we had was no bother at all and she was so happy to do it. When I think of Mia, I think of pure kindness. Last but not least, I'd leave to speak about Banji! I had trouble sleeping one night and woke up really early to go sit in the lobby. I got to chatting with Banji and immediately felt so much kindness and positivity. I was lucky to see Banji many times after that and he was genuinely concerned that I was getting enough rest. He was so sweet and nice. And he too had a smile and aura of warmth like Zaleena and Mia. If anything, come for the people who work here! We also ate at the Art and Soul for breakfast and it was so flavorful!! I got the chicken and waffles! So flavorful!!! I'm craving them now haha. I love the access to fresh water and coffee for free on every floor too! I do have some minor suggestions. The lighting in the hotel is very modern and cool, but there isn't enough brightness. Even on the highest setting, the room was not illuminated greatly. I recommend adding more lights if possible. Also the outlets were positioned in unusual ways. Many were placed by the TV but not the mirror which is used to get ready especially when multiple people share one bathroom. Lastly, I recommend having a second trash can in the room. We only had one in the bathroom. All other hotels I've been in have more than one. We did request one more and they brought it to us with no hesitation. These are so minor but I thought it may be helpful to share. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would recommend!

We booked this on hotel tonight for a Saturday night stay in DC. One plus. It was very close to union station. Maybe 1-2 blocks over. It was chilly out but it was so close the commute was fine. The guy at the front desk was sketchy AF. He charged us something extra even though the room was paid for on the app. They really didn't have any amenities here. They had a vending machine in the lobby. Everything was overpriced. Although it was colder, the rooftop bar was open. I went just to check it out before I realized I didn't want to stay here again. Thinking that maybe I would come back in the summer. I doubt it. Good for one night in town, but I wouldn't recommend. The room was modern and reminded me of a vacation somewhere else. But it was all cheaply built things.

It is Nice, great location and clean and affordable walkable distance to the Mallnew with a modern feel

0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! tl/dr shit hotel never staying there again If I could leave a 0 Star review I would. Lets start with check-in. They have single person at a desk but 4-5 monitors that are not easy to navigate to figure out your check in. I understand it is a easier concept and suppose to help with flow like self checkouts at the grocery store but no, I'm with the boomers on this one. When i checked in i was charged up front $100 for every night i was stay that "would be refunded" I was stay 4 nights? that plus another $140 fee i had to cough up an additional $540 just to check in? its bullshit! We get up to the room, and lord baby jesus I've been in cars with more space. This tiny ass room, you walk in and there is not even a seperate room for the bathroom, you have a LEGIT toilet stall! Like a glass enclosure around the toilet which shares a glass wall with the shower stall. Now that is in the entrance way. once I walked maybe the 10 feet to what would be the room proper I was shocked at the fact that the bed was a fucking futon, a power futon and the room was maybe 10ft wide. There was just enough room for the bed, a sorry excuse for a desk the size of ones in grade school and no chair, just a one person short stool that more resembled something someone would put their feet on. Last but not least, not even a mini fridge but a small "Coolbox" Even the Remote Control for the TV had a broken back! That was it to the room, there was no coffee maker in the room or anything. This place was a joke. our "Premium king room" faced the loading dock. The walls were paper thin and I legit heard the conversation from the people next door without them even raising their voices. We spent roughly $240 a night for the worst hotel i've ever been in. I would have rather stayed at a Motel 6. The Restaurant was over priced as hell! We sat down for breakfast looked at the menu and they wanted $26 for eggs and bacon. The entire downstairs looked disgusting, You could not have paid me to sit on the sofas in the lobby area. This was all and all the worst! 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

Rooms are nice and clean.. Female receptionist are RUDE!! Stay away!!! Don't waste your time or money.. Only pleasant staff at the desk was the tall guy during the day and the overnight woman.. Everyone else needs severe training.. The way they treat guest is a disgrace.

The DC Yotel did the job for us! The location is perfect; it's just a few blocks from the US Capitol, so we walked to many museums and attractions. For others, we walked over to a Circulator Bus Stop near Union Station and rode to the Lincoln Monument and points in between. The room itself was just fine, so long as you don't need a not a lot of privacy from your roommate. It had all the essentials, with no extra space. There's one slip chair by the window and a little ottoman/pouf under the desk; no space for two people to sit comfortably except the bed. The toilet is in a frosted-glass stall. The shower stall is also frosted glass, including the wall between it and the toilet, so if one of you is using each, you can vaguely see what's going on next door. All bathroom business can be clearly heard throughout the room as well! The sink is just outside those two stalls. There's also a "cooler" (mini fridge that doesn't get super cold and has no freezer compartment) nearby. No coffee in the room, but it's available 24/7 down the hall. The bed situation is unusual; our room had a king-size bed and could tilt (for sitting up in bed or lying down) at the push of a button. In flat bed mode, there's very little room to walk around the foot of the bed. Those controls and a mini tablet device for controlling lights are on one side of the bed. USB port is on the other side. USB ports on both sides would've been nice, especially since there's no alarm clock and I'd like my phone to be charging within reach so I can check the time when I wake up. There's also a control for the lights by the door. There's no way to light just the toilet/shower area; there's no light fixture above them. You have to turn on the huge light on the other wall (from one of the controllers) which lights up the whole room - so no sneaking into the bathroom or shower and leaving your roommate sleeping in the dark. Parking is awful in downtown DC, and the Yotel situation is no worse than any other. They have an agreement with the adjacent lot, which charges per hour. 12-24 hours costs $50, and shorter increments cost less. No overnight street parking is available in the vicinity; we spent $50 on parking every day. The Yotel staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful, and on hand at all times we passed through the lobby. The property seems safe and we felt very welcome.

My stay at Yotel was unfortunately marred by numerous disappointments. From the moment I arrived, it was evident that the guest service were not prioritized. The presence of mice in both the restaurant lobby and main lobby was disconcerting and detracted from the overall ambiance. Adding to the frustration, the door man inadvertently ripped my carry-on bag when tagging it, displaying a lack of attention to detail and care for guests' belongings. Moreover, the state of the bed sheets and towels left much to be desired, emitting an unpleasant odor reminiscent of a nursing home.In conclusion, while Yotel may offer a convenient location and modern amenities, the subpar cleanliness standards, poor guest service, and maintenance issues significantly detracted from the overall experience. I would caution prospective guests to consider these factors before booking their stay. Their upper deck was also closed off and didn't mention that when we booked it. They mention a great deal about a voucher they advertised everywhere but refused to give us for no evident reason. Would never recommend and actually embarrassed to stay here.

It's a nice hotel...... No customer service. Check your credit card, you will be overbilled.

I don't leave bad reviews but im making an exception for Yotel. i book here for business and I've never had a positive experience. There is ALWAYS some sort of issue with billing, most recently I was double charged. Customer service is incredibly slow and dismissive. For a four star hotel, stay someone where they value customers

The beds are very uncomfortable. They hurt your hips and are hard with no box springs. There's a lot cool here but the uncomfortable beds ruin it for me.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It's a newer hotel so it's very clean and aesthetically pleasing (not to older generations but very modern). Most hotels ask for credit card ahead of time for a hold but they make you pay the entire stay up Front plus a hold (didn't know this until I got there and was there on business so it made it a little complicated). You can check in and get situated by computer or have a person do it if you prefer. Someone isn't always at the desk which can be frustrating. There's no free breakfast or any included amenities. Did not utilize the pool unfortunately. Did pay for some appetizers at the in house restaurant and it was very good. The room was very clean and appealing (minus the bleach spots on the carpet). The lights were really helpful when I was trying to wind down and relax. I also love that the bed can be adjusted. My biggest complaint was the shower. It had no pressure and fell too softly in order to get a good clean shower in and the temperature was lukewarm on the highest setting. The provided shampoo and conditioner were great! Love that it is vegan. Overall a good stay, but for the price would have expected a bit more. It was a mad house checking out of the hotel and they only had one person working the desk and one person taking luggage. It took forever to get my stored luggage so I could make it to the airport on time. Not sure I'd stay again, as my other hotel stays have been much more memorable at other establishments but in a pinch I'd come back.

We had a fantastic stay at Yotel. The rooftop pool is amazing, plenty of lounging areas and a full bar. The breakfast was amazing too! Only complaint I would have is the front desk staff had no manners and no hospitality. The front desk staff is supposed to be welcoming and the face of the hotel. This needs to be addressed! A "Hello or Welcome" would've been lovely.

BED BUGS. I am covered in bites from staying 3 nights at this place. we planned to stay longer but had to check out early. The management won't do anything about it either! They say they'll investigate but it's been weeks and they said nothing. Super sketchy and don't recommend! Also. The bathroom isn't private, it's a stall!

Very compact in the room. No microwave provided. The shower doesn't really have hot hot water. The toilet is separate from the shower and theres no ventilation for the toilet! The customer service was great

Yotel is a modern, minimalistic, cool spot! I had a great time here, and the service and check in process was quick and easy as well! Definitely a fun spot for a romantic weekend! Pros: Cute rooms: The rooms are really cute. Lagrely white decor, modern, simple, sleek. LED lights. My window overlooked New Jersey Avenue. You can adjust the LED lighting int the rooms, which is pretty fun as well and makes for some cool pictures with the various lighting Customizable bed: The smart beds inside are extremely comfortable and you can adjust them to incline at various angles. They are extremely comfortable, as well. Coffee: In the hall is a "rehydration station" featuring various types of Compass coffee and all the fixings. Cool location: The hotel is in view of the capitol building, which is definitely a pretty sweet view to wake up to. This is a prime location, central to many of the restaurants and major sights of DC Quick check in and automated check-out: The check in process is really swift and easy! The folks at the front desk were friendly and accommodating, as well. When you check out, there is a kiosk which allows you to check yourself out quickly. Cons: Additional fee onsite: I booked the hotel on Priceline, and was charged an additional and previously unmentioned fee of $27 (for one night-- I only stayed one night). I think that they said that this was a cleaning fee? It was mildly annoying, though understandable-- I just wish I had been made more explicitly aware of it earlier.

Came to visit a friend here. Ended up staying one night during a time when DC was militarized for the Presidential Inauguration. The hotel is literally only a few blocks from the Capitol and in walking distance from Union Station. There is underground garage parking where you need to pull a ticket and pay for entry/exit. A full nights parking is $50. The parking space is also pretty tight, and you need to back in. This hotel seemed pretty new and clean. Shower was refreshing and powerfully enough to be adjusted as needed, with water pressure and temperature. The bed goes up and down so you can lay upright in bed or flat. TV was huge with all of the local and cable channels. You can also cast your Chrome or Firestick app to the TV. The bedroom also offers mood changing lights. You can adjust the type of light color you want in the room. King bedroom was pretty small. Not much room to move around. Everything was close together (desk/couch) There was a min fridge and I think microwave in the room. On our floor, by the elevator was a large coffee station with all of the fixings that you could want. The hotel staff were fantastic!

Horrible hotel with no amenities! Beds are uncomfortable, no storage space, no bathroom, toilet and shower cubicles in the room. Bed was uncomfortable, crazy fluorescent lighting.(in many colors.) around the television and clothes rack. Lies are impossible to operate, and as I understood most customers had complained so you would think that would be directions. No cups, coffee, water etc in room!! I think it's intended to look like a spaceship or a small cruise ship cabin. If you need something you should call "mission control." - that's the front desk. Demagnetized my room card which, after a lecture, they re-printed it without, asking me for ID! Just ask her room number and reissued a card. Well, the location is great. I will never sit here again.

We just went to the hotel for breakfast. It was clean and our server was friendly. The breakfast was great and we were in and out quickly.

I'm not a huge fan. I try to get my work to put me up elsewhere if I can. I don't like the kiosks, and the lines you have to wait in if it's busy is absolutely ridiculous. Rooms are really small, and not built at all for doing any work. They charge you out the butt with service fees, for mid grade coffee and filtered water (35.00/day). There online booking. Awards program, and fee structures ate confusing and if you make one little mistake it can cost big time. Dirty bedding like a mine field through the hotel, and no cream for the coffee.

Great location. 9 min walk to union station Extremely short walk to Mall , Senate offices etc Compared to Hyatt Capital Hill which is directly across the street and Hilton Capital Hill about 200 yards away it is way less expensive! Does have a crappy "facilities fee" Lobby is very simple Has kiosk check in Room are very cool Has reclining beds ! Mattress and pillows are firm Mood lighting in room and 50 in tv in wall !! No tub in my room only shower not sure in others

My parents had stayed at this hotel before and recommended it to me. Unfortunately, my stay was very unpleasant. There was a cockroach outside of my hotel room on the second day of my stay. There was no breakfast at the hotel, so I had to cross the street to the Hyatt to have breakfast. I also ended up at the Hyatt at night for drinks, since the hotel bar seemed to close unreasonably early. My room felt cramped and the A/C did not work, which resulted in four sleepless nights. Overall, I will not be staying here again, or any other "Yotel" hotel.
