The 17 Best Restaurants In Alhambra

"New dumpling shops in the San Gabriel Valley tend to face an uphill battle—there’s just so much competition—but that’s not the case for You Kitchen. Open since 2019, this tiny strip mall shop has 13 different kinds of dumplings and a steady line of hungry customers. We recommend concentrating on the “house dumplings” with chives and fish—order them pan-fried with nicely charred edges—as well as the sweet and savory chicken, shrimp, and corn dumplings. Definitely snag a “Big Mouth” pocket too, a delicious pork-filled open-faced pastry that has nothing to do with the hormone monster. " - brant cox, sylvio martins

I’ve come here many times—it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The beef noodle soup is my go-to, but honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite because everything is delicious. Highly recommend the dumplings—they’re handmade, and you can even buy them frozen at a great price. The server reminds me of my aunties, and the food tastes like grandma made it. It’s like a cozy Sunday at mom’s, and she just brought out the menudo. I also love that the music stays true to the culture. They play Mandarin songs, not some watered-down English playlist. It makes the whole experience feel authentic—like I’ve been invited into someone’s home. I’m always happy here. 🥰

I drove all the way from Highland with my hubby. No dumpling spots in my area. But I grew up eating them from my best friends home. This brought back some beautiful childhood memories ✨️

July 2025 update You Kitchen is a must visit every time we are in LA! The bean curd and cucumber appetizers, big mouth pocket, beef roll, dumplings, and wonton soup are outstanding. You can tell they really care about the food and the service is always warm and friendly. — 2/2021 Glad to see You Kitchen still open and going strong! Big mouth pocket remains a must-have, the jia jiang noodles are wonderful comfort food, and pick up some frozen dumplings for later! — Delicious northern-style food and the service is very friendly. The big mouth pocket, beef noodle soup (get the handmake noodles which are delightfully thick and chewy), beef roll, and the large fried pork buns are all standouts and definitely worth the wait.

Google
You kitchen was an interesting experience. You walk in and sit down and order your food through an iPad. Our food took longer than expected but that’s OK. It’s only a few people working there. The sesame pizza was excellent, the dinner star! The beef pocket and cilantro fish dumplings were delicious. I would skip the veggie dumplings, they were very bland. The veggie fried rice is nothing to write home about They also sell their dumplings frozen so you can buy them and store them in your freezer. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to go there but I’m happy I tried it. It’s worth trying.

2/18/24: 4.5/5 Probably the best handmade dumplings and noodles I’ve had so far in LA and as good as most of the good local shops I’ve been to in China and Asia. Dumplings are hand made and kept in cold storage until cooked to order. Noodles are batched for dough and then rolled and hand cut fresh to order. The dumpling skins and wide noodles have the perfect Q bouncy chew texture. The dumplings can be either boiled, pan fried, or steamed. The shop doesn’t use MSG, which isn’t really a problem, but does mean their food is well balanced and just salty and savory enough. Their beef noodle soup is red braised and may appear lighter in color, but still packs a beefy flavor w/ perfectly cooked tender beef. Their in house sauces like spicy chili oil for wontons and hoisin sauce for beef roll are some of the best I’ve had and also well balanced. Definitely get the sesame pockets that have a nice thin crunchy shell. The pan fried buns are fluffy pillowy w/ a nice thin crispy bottom. The green onion pancake is good although just needed some salt. Think Noodle St still has the best beef roll pancake but You’s is pretty great still. And if you want a drink, try the fresh taro milk smoothie. The owner was super nice to talk to and service was great. You can order from the menu or they have a digital POS machine w/ Chinese+English and pictures.

Google
You can find some traditional and tasty Chinese food here. Shanghai Wonton Soup is so tasty and special with the handmade wonton. The bonus is that they do not put MSG so you can drink the soup 😃 Don’t expect any good service because the owner Grandma takes care of everything so they are shorthanded. I love this place but hope that they can improve the cleanliness.

Google
Food quality is good. A couple of innovations at this place. 1) You order food at a kiosk by the front 2) dumplings are served in a plate with draining device. This keep the dumplings nice and firm. We tried about 10 dishes here and all are good. You Kitchen will be our go to casual eats from now.

Came here with my family randomly because of original plans changed, and had to try some of the items on their menu. Our server who greeted us was very cheerful and inviting. We ordered their shrimp fried rice, wonton noodle soup, spicy wonton, Xio long bao, and pork with shrimp dumplings. Everything was fresh and handmade. As a dumpling and wonton junkie, You Kitchen serves one of the best dumplings and wontons we've had in the many Chinese restaurants we've been. Their wonton noodles soup came with a bone broth that was very savory, fresh soft noodles that had just the right texture (not over cooked and not under cooked) more of a dumpling rather than wonton, yet still a delicious filling, baby bok choi, and green onions. Their spicy wonton were the best I've ever had, with a savory vinegar and spicy chili oil which they make themselves. Ended up eating the entire serving! Fried shrimp fried rice was simple yet very delicious, Xia long bao, and pork shrimp dumplings were delicious when dipped in the vinegar, ginger, and chili oil that was on the table. Everything was delicious! They even have dumplings pre made so you can buy them buy the bags to take home. The one thing they could use was a little love in some cleaning in the joint. (Minor detailing) I would give them a five star, however that was my only concern. With the service being over the top and the food being completely amazing, I'll give them a 4 1/2 star rating. We will definitely be back for those spicy wontons and give some of their other items on the menu a try. Well done 'You Kitchen'! 🥟 🍜

Yelp
I've never actually eaten here, but I always swing by to grab their frozen dumplings, and they're totally worth it. They're a bit pricier than the store-bought ones, but they're handmade, and the skins are just right--not too thick or thin. The fillings are always juicy, flavorful, and packed in pretty decent-sized dumplings. For $30-$40, you get 50 pieces depending on the filling, so it's a good deal. This time, I got the shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings, which were fire. I also tried the fish dumplings, and they didn't disappoint--super plump and tasty. I also grabbed their Big Mouth Pocket Bread with pork filling, and it was so good. The bread was crispy, light, and just hit the spot with the savory filling. Overall, a solid spot for dumplings. I'll definitely keep coming back to stock up and maybe try something new next time!

Yelp
In this home-cooking-style dumpling house, you can get all different types of dumplings and bao, a variety of meats and fillings. We shared an order of XLB, steamed lamb dumplings, pork and cabbage potstickers, scallion pancakes, and open-faced pancakes. Everything was freshly made and totally worth the wait. XLB is not very special, but the dumplings were so delicious, the open-faced pancakes were crispy, and the marinated beef slices were seasoned just perfectly. I also got a bag of frozen dumplings and bao for to-go, very reasonably priced, high quality food.

Yelp
First time here. Really loved it. You order from a tablet on the table and they bring everything too you. Sunday morning it wasnt busy. Got three items with tip it was $42 and I'd totally come back. All dumplings you can order either boiled, pan fried or steamed. Steamed or pan fried is a bit more. Portions to me were really worth the price. I've paid the same at other places and got less. Shared with one other person and it was perfect amount of food.

Yelp
Really great hole in the wall Chinese restaurant, great if you just want some simple fast food. They are known for their dumplings and baos, of which you can buy handmade frozen ones. My favorite dish was their a Big Mouth Pork -- super crispy thin outer layer covering tasty ground pork -- one order comes with 4 pieces, leaves you wanting more! Also got the Thousand layer pancake which was crispy and delicious. Not as impressed with the zha jia mian, but I did like the chewiness of their hand pulled noodles -- would want to try it with their beef noodle soup. Spicy cucumbers was a huge plate well worth the price. I appreciated they had small ordering kiosk tablets at every table, with English and Chinese and photos of almost every single dish, made it super easy to order. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of free parking in the lot.

Yelp
How this place isn't busier boggles my mind. The dumplings really are so good. Delicious. Beef roll was good but not the best we've had. The noodle soup was pretty good but I felt the dumplings were really the star. The service was great and super friendly as well.

Yelp
The beef big mouth pocket pastry is UNREAL. Crispy, flaky, stuffed with soft tender pieces of beef seasoned perfectly. The seaweed egg flower soup was piping hot even after getting home. Sooooo freaken good!

Yelp
Tiny cafe / restaurant that feels family owned and operated. Came in on a weeknight and it wasn't busy at all. Greeted by the sweetest lady and sat right away. Not sure if personnel is diff on weekends, but it was only the lady and she was very friendly and helpful. This place has a very homey feel to it and specializes in dumplings as well as a few other offerings like noodles and their buns/ pancakes. What I ordered: 'Beef Big Mouth pocket Pastry' or 'Big Mouth Pancake' - a shao bing sandwich (or stuffed bun?) with beef and cilantro. I think you can choose another meat as well. Do you like sesame, cilantro, and flaky pastry? If yes, I think you would love this. I know I did. The textures and flavors were all very great. I used a little chili oil to add another dimension and kick. The shrimp / pork/ chive dumplings - I ordered them boiled. Great structure and flavor. I really like the serving dish with the dipping area. Chili oil and vinegar available to make a dip. What I also love about this place - you can order their dumplings to go from the freezer! A bag of dumplings I got was $30 for a bag of 50. I thought it was such a great deal (less than $1/per). I recommend this place because you are getting delicious food for a really reasonable price. I want to come back soon and try the noodles. Parking was easy on a weeknight. Not sure how it would be on a weekend.

Yelp
On a Wednesday wet afternoon in November, I decided to have lunch here before 11am. I was nicely greeted by owner and I sat anywhere. I ordered from the tablet which was convenient xlb dumplings and won ton noodle soup. I didn't wait too long since I was only customer. The wonton noodle soup is different from the HK style. They used different noodles and broth is lighter. The xlb dumpling are good and juicy. I forgot to take a photo of the dumplings since I was hungry, at the end, I paid on the tablet and it was convenient.

Yelp
I was Yelping for Chinese dumplings in the area and decided to give You Kitchen a try. I walked in on a Saturday around 12pm and there was only one other family dining there so it was quite dead. Tables are self seated and you order via the tablet at your table. I love this because you can view the menu on there and total up all your cost before you press order and you easily pay on the same device when you completed your meal. From my table I was able to get a view of the kitchen and watched people made our dumplings fresh and prepare our noodles. It truly feels like you are at some auntie's house. All the food we ordered were fabulous and tastes authentic. You Kitchen is highly recommended.

Yelp
2.5* This is one of those places where the food is legitimately good, but the question is whether or not you are willing to suffer through the horrible service in order to eat it. The place was not busy when we came for Saturday lunch. There is only one woman working the front, but you order anyway through a tablet on the table. Our tablet was disgusting - crusted dried stuff on the screen that I had to get a napkin and purell to wipe off. The first time we asked for ice with our drinks, the woman insisted that we "first check if the water was cold enough without ice". Then she reluctantly went and got us half a cup of ice. When we later asked for more, she gave us another half cup of ice and handed it to us with her hands (and now cup) absolutely covered in dough and flour. Through the window into the kitchen, you could also see the other worker moving around with a massive tissue stuck in her nostril. We ordered a beef roll, squash dumplings, and a pork big mouth pocket. All were good, with the pocket being the stand out item. The squash dumplings were a unique flavor that I hadn't tried before and I enjoyed. We also got the plum juice which they make in house and was quite good. Again, the food isn't the issue, the service is. 3% additional charge for using a credit card

Yelp
First time dinning at You Kitchen, we originally found this place recommended from a TikTok video. The ordering was all done through a tablet and was delivered very fast and fresh to the table. The beef pocket was the star of the show. Hands down. It was perfectly shareable and the sauce flavor really complemented the meat and light pastry outer shell. Our only minus was the soups being a little bland, though the fresh handmade noodles were definitely top notch. The cucumber salad was a nice level of spice and sauce combo, with a crunchy rough chop style i really enjoyed. Early dinner on a Sunday around 5pm was very open and not busy.

Yelp
I had to review after I was here few days ago looking for soup after battling the flu. I had come back after the owner was so nice and friendly this time I decided to dine in. I ordered the shrimp fried rice with wonton soup pork omg it was delicious. It's a mom and pops spot which has a home feeling. My total was around $23+ but good portions. The owner was there and still showing amazing customer service who appreciates my business that alone deserves kudos. Plenty of parking in the front or side and very quiet place to eat.

Yelp
This restaurant is surprising me for a clean environment with two signature dishes, Big Moth Pocket Beef and Fish Coriander Dumplings Fried. 这家餐厅干净的环境让我很惊喜, 有两个招牌菜: 大嘴饼牛肉和香菜鱼饺子。

Yelp
This place is SO good. It's a small little family owned restaurant, so they need a little bit more time to make each dish, but I appreciate the iPad menu a lot for having photos of the items. The beef noodle soup is light and savory, the hand pulled noodles are perfectly cooked and one of the main reasons for coming here. The star of the show is the egg chive mouth pocket (sounds better in Chinese lol). It's perfectly fried, delicate in your mouth but structured enough to hold onto and pour chili oil on. Dumplings are 10/10, the handmade skin is thick and the meat is juicy. The woman who works at the front is always kind and cheerful, I've purchased to go many times and she's always packing it up extra tight. Even when I order before closing, she's delightful and understanding. It's easy to find parking, and the space itself is small and lively. For taiwanese style food, this is my go to, and has been for a while now.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
This place is slept on! You can get hand pulled noodles with the dandan noodles. The hand grasping pancake is so good and nostalgic idrk where you can find it elsewhere. The potstickers are a solid option too. I also got the beef roll which is one of the best I've ever had. I'd choose this place over many other main stream Taiwanese places.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little family restaurant. The food was great and different enough to stand out from the crowded Chinese food market in the area. It's very much worth trying.

Yelp
To say that this spot is out of eye sight is not an understatement. I've gone to the Quickly two buildings over and saw this place and ordered dumplings to-go but this time I came alone and decided to dine in. I was not disappointed. It's a good sized location with a digital order tablet at tables. It's not loud either, there was only two employees but the service was quick and the ladies are super kind. The food was delicious and savory in addition to piping hot I would highly recommend everyone trying!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to pick up, order out and pick up... the dumplings any way you prefer them and pancakes are yummya Craving satiated but Tip: do call in advance to order. Can also order frozen bags of varied dumplings to go and share with the fam. They do have seating available but they're pretty busy with to go orders, so take that info as you will. Patience is key and satisfaction is... rhyme if you like lol! Enjoy! Btw, see pics for updated Menu prices.

Yelp
Didn't walk in here with high expectations, yet we still left feeling underwhelmed. First of all, we only saw one employee so service was extremely slow even though the place did not seem busy. She also appeared to be unfriendly. There was probably one more in the back doing the cooking. We had the beef noodle soup, pan fried pork buns, and steamed pork dumplings. The beef from the beef noodle soup was hard to chew and the broth was bland. The pan fried pork buns tasted ok, but were not juicy. We only received 7 pieces of xiao long bao, which was weird because the picture on their menu shows 8 pieces. Unfortunately we do not see ourselves visiting this shabby establishment again, considering there are so many other better dumpling restaurants. Honestly the best thing here is that there is ample parking provided that the lot is shared with the bowling alley.

Yelp
Found this mom & pop restaurant while on one of my food ventures. It's in a little strip mall off of Valley Blvd & New Ave. Plenty of parking available in the plaza. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not too busy. If you're dining in, you place your order on the tablets that are at each table. I did take-out this time. I reviewed the menu posted on the window, walked in and placed my order in the front. Staff were friendly. They prefer cash if you could, but do accept cars (master or visa) if you do not have enough cash. 1. Big Mouth Pocket (5/5) SOOOO GOOD. It's essentially a light sesame pocket bread that's toasted to a perfect crisp, cut in half and then stuffed with your choice of pork or beef (+$2), and cilantro. You can hear the crunch with each bite when it is fresh. A light dish that is a must try. 2. Cucumber Salad with Garlic (4/5) The cucumbers were fresh and flavored lightly with garlic sauce. They do have the option to make it spicy. I was afraid it would be too spicy so opted for not spicy, which made it a bit bland. Will try mild spicy next time 3. Bean Curd Salad with Scallion Oil (5/5) A good refreshing appetizer to start off the meal with. It's those flat bean curd sheets that's cut up into bite size pieces and coated in a thin layer of scallion oil. You can choose the spicy level on this as well. I chose mild spicy and it was perfect. 4. Pan Fried Chive Egg Pillow (5/5) Another WOW dish. It's so fresh and crispy. When eaten fresh, each bite is music to the ears and bursting flavors to the tongue. The chives were super fresh and fragrant. Well-made! If you're looking for quality dumplings, Chinese-style buns of many varieties, and noodles, this is your place.

Yelp
O M G. The best juiciest dumpling in town. And crispy if you get it pan fried. The food comes out pretty fast. Dumplings are dumplings but these are on a whole nother level!!
google avatar

Yelp
Love the ZiMa DaBing (Sesame Big Bread?) - baked crispy crust with crunchy sesame seeds on the outside. Soft layered bread with savory green onion goodness on the inside. The bread is the size of a personal pizza but 5x thicker. Other Northern staples include ShengXianBao (fried pork Baos), CongYouBing (scallion pancakes), dumplings. The owner is kind, and always has a smile on her face as she encourages us to try something new. Brought many an out of town friend here to cement that SGV does in fact have the best Chinese food.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Love this small business and their big mouth pockets! The sesame bread is thin and crispy and they are very generous with the beef/cilantro filling. Small restaurant in a busy plaza. They get pretty packed on the weekends so go early!!
google avatar

Tiffany A.

Yelp
I called in to place my orders. This time I ordered their big mouth pancake, cucumber salad, roasted beef noodle soup, and spicy wonton. Their big mouth pancake is super delicious. It came in 4 pieces. The bread is thin and crispy. I asked for the thick noodles for my noodle soup. The soup came with really tender & flavorful beef. Cucumber salad was flavorful & delicious. Spicy wonton is good but a bit overcooked. The restaurant is clean & has Kiosk machines where you can place your order.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Infactuation and Molly Baz brought us here. I'm so happy we came here. Very efficient, everything is made fresh and no MSG. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
We are on a search for the best dan dan noodles and decided to try You Kitchen. We called to see what vegetarian options they have and the operator doesn't speak much English. However they do have a couple of options and what definitely enticed me was the sesame green onion pizza. It really is a thick green onion pancake with many layers in a pizza box. I have had a better one in Temple City but You Kitchen is much closer to where I live and it does the job! Definitely my number one order here. The dan dan noodles, dumplings, and cucumber cold dishes we tried were all decent. I would probably order them again to complete the meal, but I am really only frequenting the business for that pancake or pizza.
google avatar

Quinn V.

Yelp
Love this small business. The auntie is so nice! You can order on a tablet at each table and use tap to pay (Apple Pay). I am vegan and can order from their appetizers. Auntie taught me that I can tell her "no meat" and "water" instead of broth to have their noodles vegan. Still delicious. I have her make vegan frozen dumplings by asking for vegetarian but then no egg. I order them every week and pick them up a few days later.

Yelp
*** $1 transaction fee for using credit cards *** I was cruising on Valley Blvd and this was one of few restaurants that's open for business on Christmas Day. The restaurant is located right next to the ever popular 101 Noodle Express and parking was very easy on Saturday night. I decided to give You Kitchen a try due to (1) 101 Noodle Express got too many customers waiting for take-out and (2) slightly cheaper prices on similar food comparing with 101 Noodle Express. The lady was nice and my order was ready in 20 minutes. [Menu]: A very simple double sided laminated menu with an emphasis on dumplings, buns (e.g. xiao long bao), Chinese pancake (e.g. beef roll), and noodles (e.g. beef noodle soup). *** Steamed Xiao Long Dumplings (Soup Dumplings - $11.99): Skin didn't break easily (good sign) and soup & filling were flavorful. Beef Roll ($11.99): Slightly cold, but it had good flavors from hoisin sauce and it was another good dish. Stewed Beef Noodle Soup (wide noodle - $10.99): Broth wasn't overly greasy (good sign), but it lacked a bit of explosive flavor. Beef and wide noodle weren't too shabby. *** Overall a solid option for Northern Chinese food and I wouldn't mind coming back here again for soup dumplings. If the line at 101 Noodle Express gets too long and you carry enough cash, then I would give You Kitchen some serious consideration.

Yelp
Mom and pop kind of noodle-slash-dumpling joint. They have all the popular dumpling and noodles you want. Priced pretty fine, with adequate portion. Zhajiang noodle and Dandan noodle was pretty alright. It's not shockingly good, but also can't really find fault with it. Just okay, i guess. Will probably visit again if I don't want to drive a bit more for other places. They have frozen dumplings ready to cook, probably their specialty is actually dumplings? Well, they don't seem to have a personal portion of dumplings so I've yet to try them.
google avatar

Yvonne C.

Yelp
Plenty of parking right outside. Looks like a mom and pop shop that is run entirely by this super nice older lady. There's mini iPads for you to order from and checkout with. It was extremely easy and seem less. We didn't have to wait for the check to come or anything. Just click pay, Apple Pay and done! The soup dumpling was delicious! I was hoping they had pork and crab option but they only had pork. For the chives and pork dumpling, you can choose boiled, fried (extra $1) or steamed (extra $1). Honestly, I don't know the difference between boiled and steamed and figured it would taste the same so we chose boiled. Very flavorful and they have it frozen so you can buy it to go for home. For the noodles, there was nothing special about it. It taste good but seems very easy to make and ingredients were just thrown in. The preserved veggies were still cold. I'd come back solely for the dumplings whenever I have cravings.

Yelp
Love coming here and this time I tried their big mouth pork pastry which was so good. Their pork/shrimp wonton soup is great because you can actually drink the soup without feeling bloated or oily. My favorite spot for dumplings, beef rolls, and other Taiwanese style dishes. The pricing is similar if not cheaper than most 626 dumpling spots. The service can be a little slow bc it's just the owner and another waitress. They do charge $1 for credit card use. The ambiance is nice, quiet, and good spacing so you're not cramped. Shares a parking lot with the rest of the plaza.

Yelp
I came here when they first opened and again this past week. Quality and service 10/10. Food was very good and they sell 50count frozen dumplings to go which is great if you want to share with family and friends at home. You can order and pay for your bill on their self serve tablets on the table which was nice if you're in a pinch.

Yelp
This is still my family's favorite spot. Mom and pop-owned, authentic food cooked with quality ingredients and friendly service. Ahhh the feels (in my stomach). I can never stop eating when we come here! If you love carbs (who doesn't?!) Their noodles and dumplings are hand pulled and made fresh in house. That's not so common anymore! They're so fresh, perfectly cooked level of chewiness, in piping hot flavors without being overly salty. We ordered: - Dan Dan noodles: 4/5 Always get hand pulled, knife cut or whatever. This tastes really good when dipped in a bit of the chili wonton sauce. - XLB: 5/5 Full of juice. So full of juice, they sag when you pick them up lol. - Chili wonton: 5/5 So much flavor! - Big mouth pockets (toasty sesame bread filled with beef): 5/5 The best of both worlds - sesame pancake and beef rolls in one. Amazing! Pan fried dumplings: 5/5 so perfectly fried on bottom, pillowy soft and fresh up top - Beef noodle soup: 5/5 (my last one was in Taiwan so I'm picky here) Beef was sooo tender. Fall apart tender! I'll be back, as always, every time I'm in LA!

Yelp
This is a quick update to my You Kitchen experience. This time around I ordered to go. I placed an order online via their website and arrived about 35 to 40 minutes later to pick up my order. The lovely lady behind the counter was very generous and even mentioned to me that since I already paid and tipped online and actually told me to just cross out the tip section so I don't get double charged. That was very gracious of her. That aside, the food this time around was very disappointing. The dumplings, which I pride myself as being a dumpling expert was anything but delicious. The texture was not there, in fact it felt like it was under cooked as there was no textural difference in each bite. Usually the skin and the filling have some difference in texture and this time there wasn't any. The noodles, which flavor wise was decent, the noodles itself felt like spaghetti bought from a store than homemade. Overall, it was just quite a disappointing experience going from what I thought was a decent to great dumpling to something that wasn't even edible and if it wasn't for the graciousness of the lady behind the counter, this would have been a one star experience.

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood Chinese dumpling joint. Not fancy, and they're not trying to be. Just delicious dumplings, cucumbers, beef rolls and noodles. Basically the same menu as the more popular restaurant next door, done better. Wonderful, friendly service, as well.

Yelp
Love this place, food is delicious and I love getting frozen hand made dumplings to make at home.

Yelp
A friend and I came by here to pick up lunch to-go on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy, but our food took over half an hour to be ready. I was getting really hungry while waiting. We ordered the Big Mouth Pocket with Pork ($7.99), Pan Fried Pork Buns ($8.99), and Spicy Cucumber Salad with Garlic ($4.50). The big mouth pocket was quite a unique item with a crispy and crunchy layer to hold in all the meat and cilantro topping. I really like the crunch from this, but the filling could use more flavor. As for the pork buns, I think I mis-ordered (supposed to get the pan MOIST pork buns), though they were still juicy and yummy. Finally, the cucumber salad was refreshing. Even though it was drenched in mala spicy oil, it was so good. Solid spot for some Chinese dumplings and dishes. Note: They charge $1 for credit cards, so bring cash.

Yelp
It's not a fancy place, but it gets a 5-star for delicious food! We had beef noodle soup, pork big mouth pocket, and pickled cucumbers. All of them were tasty and no MSG!

Yelp
Solid dumpling house if you're starving for dumplings and such and nothing else is open. Their (You'r?) version of spicy wontons is oddly low on the wontons-to-sauce ratio, such that the tiny Shanghainese (not Cantonese) wontons are drowning inside the oily red sauce. The signature 'big mouth' pocket is also a bit of an oddity. The sesame seed bread shell is delightfully thin, crispy and flakey; however the pork and cilantro stuffing inside tastes very bland... So after I took it home I added Japanese kombu soy sauce and wham bam! 2 small tables outside in the covered walkway of the plaza.

Yelp
Up until now everything is still consistently delicious! Really recommend both types of beef noodles, pork pockets (will try beef soon), and beef onion dumplings! They made the extra charge clearer on menu now, and the touchscreen ordering system is really convenient. Will continue to return.

Yelp
I cam here on the weekends during the afternoon. There was no wait most likely due to the pandemic. I ordered xiao long bao and beef pockets. It took about 15 minutes for my order to finish. The beef pockets were very delicious. The outer pocket was a light crunchy and the beef inside wasn't dry. The herbs on top gave it a fragrant favor. The beef pockets did make my throat feel really dry though. The xiao long bao had very thin skin and a nice meaty inside. The one thing I did not like was the light tasting broth inside. I was expecting a stronger tasting broth. Overall, I was satisfied with my order. The pricing is about the same as other dumpling/xiao long bao places. The beef pockets were some of the best I've had.

Yelp
This is strictly for the kitchen staff so the cook !!!! Waiter was nice. COVID pandemic going on right now you don't have a mask on while preparing our food ? I know the correct temperature will kill COVID it but your still handling the food. Sorry to write bad review for small establishment but it's not right if you can't abide by the rules. Food was ok, pan fried dumpling was not the pork and cabbage one order has green onions in it. The shrimp fried rice and the beef noodle soup was decent. The best thing was actually the cold cucumber and seaweed. They sell frozen dumpling to go but after seeing the chef not wearing mask won't be coming back.

Yelp
You Kitchen has been an SGV staple for us, and it should be on your list as well. The owner is so sweet, and she recognizes our order lol. This little place is located in a shopping plaza next to another SGV heavy-hitter, but I usually head to this little shop for my noodle and dumpling fix. Parking is super abundant on the sides of the parking lot, but the area closest to the street/the front of the shops is usually crowded. Our usual order: - Beef noodle soup (you can choose hand-torn or regular noods) - Beef roll (dog dad's #1) - Steamed xiao long bao - Pan fried chive egg pillow (my #1) Pre-COVID, you could place your order at the little kiosk to the immediate left when you enter the shop (make sure to include the booth or table number where you will be sitting). They have booths and tables for dining in, and they were all numbered to ensure your food would go to the right table. Post-COVID, we mainly order over the phone or online. Everything is always packaged really well, and condiments (chili oil and soy sauce) are included with the utensils and napkins. We always have leftovers, but everything still tastes great the next day. We love the fact that everything is a good size and the flavor is really rich. A sign of greatness is how dog dad misses their beef rolls, and always ensures it is in our order.

Yelp
I've have this spot bookmarked since forever and I finally made the trip out to 626 to do a mini food day. Unfortunately, I totally forgot that the first rule for dining in 626 is to always bring cash, which we've relied on credit card since COVID, so we didn't have enough. We were only able to order 1 item, the Big Mouth Meat Pocket. I really wanted to get the dumplings, but hopefully I'll get a chance to try it next time. As for the meat pocket, it was super flaky, seasoned perfectly and comes with 4 pieces! I definitely recommend ordering your own because you'll love it. Will be back again for sure!

Yelp
We had a great dinner at You Kitchen: --Hand grasping cake: Delicious, slightly sweet. Is it a noodle or a different dough? Crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside. --Spicy wontons: Delicate wontons in a spicy broth with red pepper and scallions on top. Very good. --Shrimp, Pork, Chive fried dumplings: This was the only dish that was disappointing. Not much flavor, despite the ingredients. --Xia Long dumplings: Wonderful. A house speciality. --Pan Moist Fried Buns: Our server mentioned these and they were great. Fluffy like bao, with delicious filling and a crispy bottom. Since we went early, the restaurant was fairly empty, so we we able to take advantage of the knowledge of the staff. When they get busy, you order from a kiosk at the front of the store. And if you use a credit card (for which there is a $1 fee), you also utilize the kiosk. We will definitely be back for more.

Yelp
Wow I really love this place! The funny thing is that the Chinese name is "grandma's kitchen" - whoever has this lady as a grandma is really lucky. The food is really smartly and expertly cooked so it feels like high quality home cooking. The big mouth pancake is thin and just the right amount of crispy. We had it with chicken and the chicken was shredded very finely (attention to detail) and perfectly seasoned. The steamed buns are also delicious and the cabbage inside was shredded very fine. There's a great variety of frozen buns and dumplings. The noodles also seem handmade. No complaints! All deliciousness! Thank-you!

Yelp
When this place opened, I've had this place bookmarked because I love dumplings and noodles. When I saw eater.com write an article about this place, I knew I had to come ASAP so I did. My friend and I came on a Saturday night and we came at around 6:30pm and there weren't that much people. We were seated right away and the place progressively became more full. My friend and I like to over order to try different things and we ended up ordering 6 dishes: Pork Soup Dumplings, Green Onion Pancakes, Chives Pocket, Pan Fried Dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles, and Pork Buns. Some of our foods came out pretty fast and 2 of our items, which I think they forgot, came out almost an hour later. I was pretty annoyed because they are for sure understaffed and they need to hire more people. My favorite dish was the soup dumplings which I've had a lot of soup dumplings in my life as it's from my culture and they have one of the better kinds. I definitely think theirs are better than Mama Lu's and Din Tai Fung for sure. The green onion pancakes were good as well, super crisp and crunchy and flavorful. The chives pocket were juicy and hot as well, tbh nothing too exciting but delicious regardless. The pan fried dumplings weren't the typical shen jiang bao that I'm used to because they're smaller and more watery than what I'm used to which I'm not sure if I like. SKIP the dan dan noodles for sure. It was one of the dishes that took forever to come out because they forgot about it and it was so watery because I don't think they drained the noodles well enough and it was so strong with peppercorn that it was too overwhelming. The thick noodles were good, it had a nice chew and firm taste but the overall fish was just not my favorite. Hope this restaurant gets better because the food is good, but the service definitely needs to get better if they wanna survive in 626.
