The Best Cider in Philly | Eater Philly

"This small-batch cidery and tasting room in Germantown excels at delivering satisfyingly crisp, all-natural, dry, and gluten-free hard ciders. Its offerings include a mix of standards, such as Tart Cherry and Very Ginger, along with rotating seasonal flavors. You can also feel free to skip the booze and order one of its equally stellar non-alcoholic options like the sweet apple cider or a Cider Fizz (which blends its sweet apple cider with seltzer)." - George Banks-Weston

The Best Restaurants, Bars, and Cafes in Germantown, Mt. Airy, and Chestnut Hill | Eater Philly

"Young American Hard Cider’s outdoor patio is a welcoming place to drink one of the brewery’s many ciders (made from Pennsylvania apples), local beers, cocktails, and wines, especially right next to warming fire pits on a chillier night. But don’t stop at just drinks: The food menu at Young American — from chef Robin Admana — is always great. On Thursday and Friday nights, the cidery hosts tasting menus of whatever Admana is into making that week. They’re not to be missed." - Ernest Owens

First time visit, we loved sitting on the cute patio, and the wait staff was excellent and attentive. Our party of 3 shared the vegan Spinach hand pie and the Rte 23 hand pie along with potato wedges and coleslaw. As non-drinkers we chose regular apple cider, and for dessert we had the Big Ass cookie with ice cream. Everything was delicious.

Great food Good vibes Chill mood Great staff who knew about the drinks they were serving. The ciders were good. And 7% about is a steal for 7$. Great place for a self date. I can sit at the bar and not feel out of place. Music not too loud. You can carry a conversation and not have to yell. Bring your kids. Its a nice little place. The spinach hand pie was great. Not super large. More room to try the other ciders. Looks kinda small but very flavorful and stuff full. Doesn't feel like a waste. Any bigger would be a crime. The blood orange cider was great. I will for sure be back if I am in the area. And maybe I'll bring friends next time. Will for

100/10 experience! Went with a party of 4 and everything we ordered was SO good. I had biscuits and gravy (in the frenzy to inhale food I forgot to take a picture) and the liege waffle; my boyfriend had the tosilog. Our friends got the breakfast platter and eggs benny. The food was excellent, absolutely no notes! I reserved through their Google Form but needed to update my party number. By sending an email I was able to update my reservation with no problems. If you're considering this place, DO IT!!!

This may just be the most dramatic review ever but O M G! Decided to check this place out for Brunch and every single thing was amazing! I’m still shedding tears over their bakery special, the green cinnamon bun of heaven. I’ve never in my life had something so delicious yet not too sweet, they did it just right! Also, I really appreciate the option to make something vegetarian since my Hubby isn’t Vegetarian and I am. He’s so lucky he inhaled his waffle because I almost came for it. The service was top notch, everyone was so nice and we felt so comfortable. How long can I make this review or maybe I’ll just stop here. Just go!!!! Thank you for one of the best experiences!!! Can’t wait to come back! P.S. I hope you have that cinnamon bun back at some point. 😂😭❤️

Genuinely terrible, and not at all deserving of its high rating. I ordered a flight of cider, and asked for sweet ciders. All four I got were room temperature warm, three tasted strongly of apple cider vinegar. I came on an evening there was a guest chef. His food was also, room temperature to cold. And just not good. My best advice - food is better hot, cider is better cold, Young American is better left un-visited. EDIT - I specifically asked for sweet cider when I ordered. If your staff is so equipped to say “hey, actually our cider is all lukewarm and sour” that would have been an excellent time to say it. I absolutely would have left. Next time, speak up, friend. I also did talk to the staff before I left. They could have asked me a question, they did not. It’s fine; but don’t act like I rushed out without giving anyone an opportunity to talk to me 🙄. I assume the mandatory 20% tip is part of the reason your staff don’t ask if there’s an issue. I asked a question about how the tip worked, and how to leave a 20% tip (as I was paying, getting ready to leave, with a full plate of food and all the cider sitting there. Yes - talking to your staff, using words). Your staff was more than accommodating in explaining it was already added to my bill by default. I left “so quickly” because I quickly realized I find your food and drink inedible. And good to know it’s deliberate, not accidental, your drinks and food are sour and room temperature. I’ll take that under advisement from here on out. Thank you for the clarity. My apologies on being such a brute, so uneducated in the finer things you offer the public.

Cool spot! Felt very cozy like you are over a friends house . The Ciders were good but not as dry as I typically prefer. The service was a tad slow but it was busy. The food was ok as well but Luke warm and could have been hotter.

Young American Cider is one of Germantown’s true hidden gems. Housed in a beautifully restored 1700s building, it’s part cidery, part art gallery, part community hub. The ciders are crafted by a sculptor-owner whose artistic touch is everywhere—from handmade apple-shaped lights to custom tables. Her biz partner Stephanie, a graphic artist, brings even more creativity and warmth. The food is farm-to-table and phenomenal (don’t miss the pork sandwich, chili, or maple cornbread), and there’s wine, beer, and craft cocktails too. Prices are incredibly fair, especially in today’s world. The vibe? Effortlessly cool and inclusive. Just last week, a Guggenheim-winning musician and award-winning author was casually performing live. That’s just a typical night here. Whether you’re there for the music, the cider garden, the art, or the people—this place feels like home. Grab a growler and soak in the magic.
