Traditional Japanese setting with full sushi bar and couple of tables. Ordered the miyabi omakese. Service was great. Definitely recommended for special occasion.

10/10 WOULD DEFF RECOMMEND!!! My bestie & i came for the 13 course omakase for our 30th birthdays. From making the reservation (which you do have to put a deposit down- so that the chefs can better know what to prepare) to ending on dessert, everything was seamless, professional, welcoming & overall amazing. The chefs are so knowledgeable & create such an interesting & fun experience. And I did mention that the food is PHEONOMENAL?!?!?! I love me some sushi & i got to try so many new things & it was all so delicious 😭 THE COCKTAILS TOO YALL!!!! You can taste the love these people put into their crafts. I cannot stress enough how this dinner was worth every penny spent- and I'll definitely be returning. P.s. These aren't all of the pieces we tried, just some faves.

It was my partner’s and I’s first time at an omakase restaurant. We had the Uni Omakase and this was truly high grade Uni sourced from Santa Barbara. I had Uni before in San Francisco and SB, so it reminds me of the sushi restaurants out in the west coast. Every dish was absolutely a wonderful delicate taste to experience with high quality ingredients. This is truly worth the night out, and I will be returning here to experience more omakase concepts. Thank you so much for a satisfying night! For the dessert option, the only critique I have is to not add oreo to the matcha ice cream. I feel it dilutes the japanese experience with the matcha flavor. But i am unsure what will be a good substitute… This is not an issue though since it was still delicious! The service was very well attended to all our needs, so I really enjoyed the evening with all the staff present!

I dined at Yujo tonight, and while the ambiance and food were overall decent…a server accidentally spilled hot miso soup on my date’s hair, back, and down her dress!!! Thankfully, she wasnt burned, but it was quite embarrassing for us as guests. We remained calm and put water into the napkin to wipe it out of her hair, back, and dress. I hope the restaurant can handle such situations more carefully in the future to ensure a smoother and safer dining experience for all.

I’ve always wanted to try an Omakase dining experience and wow we found just the right place. It’s pretty affordable for everything that you get, around $240 for 2 people with multiple cocktails and an additional pasta dish. Don’t sleep on the uni pasta and the contains. It’s fantastic.

My wife and I have never done Omakase, so I figured her Birthday would be an awesome chance as she loves sushi & sashimi! The vibe of the place was cool and cute (small and intimate space) and the servers/waiters were very nice! Our sushi chef was explaining every bite and open to questions, we loved every bite we had! The drinks were awesome too, my wife loved the Summer Day one. We would definitely come back, the price makes it more approachable than others and the quality and value were top notch!

Google
Great value omakase with unique dishes. Yujo was recommended to us by our server at Tei An. He said when he can’t eat Tei An he eats at Yujo. Location: it’s in a strip center at Preston and LBJ (635). I love strip center restaurants so this was a plus for me. Interior: not super big, maybe seating for 40 people? There are two semi private rooms when you enter that could seat 8-10 each. Food: we did the standard omakase. They also have a premium and a sea urchin omakase. Prices are about 30% cheaper than Tei An or Tatsu or Mabo. I wouldn’t say it’s on those levels but the food is very very good and a really good value play for omakase in Dallas! They dress their sushi very well: our oysters had an egg in it and many dishes had good fruit and herbs on it. They were very welcoming and substituted all fruit for my wife, who doesn’t eat fruit. I would definitely come back.

I loved the omakase experience. The sale tasting wasn’t timed properly and I could have been fine without it but overall it was great.

Yelp
Hubby and I did the omakase with sake pairing and it was great! Everything was good and our sushi chef (Dylan) was informative and answered any of our questions. He was awesome. Staff was really great too. We had a 8pm reservation and it was busy so they were running a little behind which was fine to me, it happens. It's a small place. My only complaint, I'm a short girly so I wish the seats were a little higher so we could see the chefs preparing our next dish.

Yelp
I really enjoyed our dining experience at Yujo. Our friends have been to Yujo several times and recommended we gave it a try. The four of us were able to sit at the Chef's counter and had the personalized Omakase experience. I can see why my friends love Yujo so much. The restaurant is not very large and have a nice, relaxing atmosphere about it. There were many courses and every omakase can be different. So I won't go into the details of what we had. There were good bites and great bites. We tried a few new things including dry-aged sashimi. While I can see the draw, I must admit I am not fully convinced I'd prefer dry-age sashimi vs. the good o'sashimi. But we did really really appreciate the personal attention & interaction with the chef, the explanation he provided, and overall, just casual feel of who dining experience. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Yujo and can understand why our friends picked Yujo as recommended sushi joint for us to try in our short one-week stay when there are so many choices in the Dallas area.

Yelp
I went here for a birthday dinner and had their miyabi omakase! I believe the pricing was around $75 per person but honestly it was pretty filling and I loved how much more intimate this location was compared to their frisco location! The service was friendly and the pace of the courses were perfect! The oyster starter was a liiiitle fishy for me but other than that every other piece was super fresh and yummy! Loved the uni and kanpachi - the chawanmushi and miso soup served towards the end of the course was also a perfect ending to the meal :) We also tried a few of their drinks - i reeeally enjoyed the Karai drink, it was the perfect blend of spicy, refreshing, and lightly sweet! I would go back just for that drink hehe

Yelp
What a great experience! Yujo offers a Tuna Cutting Show once a month and I was able to attend their November show. This show is unique to Yujo and I haven't heard of anything like this in the Dallas area. When we arrived, we were seated and ordered drinks (Pacific 75 - Yuzu Sake with Honey). There was a bar area and table area. The show promptly started at 7PM where the chefs brought out the 180 lbs Bluefin Tuna! The chef explained where the fish came from (this tuna came from Baja California) and the different tuna cuts. Once the fish was sliced, the chefs started preparing the dishes since this was also a Toro Omakase. We started with a Tartare with Caviar then the different dishes came out. All throughout the omakase experience, the chef brought around the different slices of fish; he brought out the head, explained the colors of the meat, and taught us about their dry aging process, and more. The whole experience was very informational and delicious! My favorite dishes were the 22-day dry aged otoro (it was full of umami flavor) and the akami skewer (it tasted like barbecue!) After the omakase, we got shots to celebrate and we ordered a la carte at no additional cost (some dishes had an up-charge but we didn't order that). I highly recommend the Tuna Cutting Show at Yujo because it is a memorable experience! I heard about making reservations by following their Instagram page.

Yelp
As those close to me know, I've been endlessly searching for sushi spot replacements since I moved here from Houston. The Yujo restaurants are one branch I've been visiting a lot whenever I crave sushi in North Dallas. Starting with the food, I always get a large variety of Golden Seafoam nigiri (scallop foie gras), wagyu nigiri, all-in-one nigiri, foie gras nigiri, snapper nigiri, salmon nigiri, salmon belly nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, bluefin nigiri, aji nigiri, all their dry-aged nigiri options, and more. I don't really like their crudos nor their starters, but their nigiri (especially the specialty ones like the Golden Seafoam) are pretty top-notch. My favorite aspects of this restaurant are the incorporation of foie gras and dry-aged nigiri pieces. This place satisfies my sharp cravings for gourmet sushi when I know I won't be going to Houston for a while. Their hot sake is also average, I always get it when I come here but like many other places, it's obvious they just microwave normal sake and one time they charged me for a full hot sake, yet gave me half a bottle (I'm guessing a lot of it evaporated in the microwave). While the food is pretty good, the service here is really not the best unless you sit at the sushi bar. In the multiple times I've been here with friends and family, we've gotten a large variety of servers: some with a bad attitude, some who look like they have no clue what's going on, some who forget our order despite us asking 3 times, and rarely we get the tall gentlemen who is our favorite server. We never got his name, but he is our favorite, always gets our order correct, and brings our food out quickly. The rest of the servers we've had have been okay, but never 100% on point with their service. When we sit at the sushi bar, the sushi chefs ensure we're taken care of, so we'll be sitting there from now on. Also, the chairs and tables here are pretty uncomfortable. The bench at the tables don't match well with the height of the table and I had to hunch over the whole time, which hurt my back. While I do love this place, I cannot give it 5 stars with how many issues there are with the service + ambiance of the restaurant. However, I will be returning and hoping that my next experiences with their service will wow me enough to increase this review to 5 stars.

Yelp
This location is more quiet and intimate than the other sister locations. The staff here are equally as friendly and welcoming. They guide you through the omakase course and give you an overall wonderful experience.

Sapna B.

Yelp
Overall we had a great experience here! We decided to go a la carte because many times with omakase I find that they don't bring the items I really want to try. I found it super strange that they don't offer sashimi on their menu. The chef did still give us some tuna sashimi once we requested it. The oyster shooter was probably my favorite. I don't think we'd be back given a) the price point and b) there are just too many sushi places to try.

Kevin H.

Yelp
Wow, the food was amazing! The price was decent as well! We did the 75 dollar omakase and everything was delicious and creatively made. The omakase was fast paced. The staff was attentive and friendly. The decor was cute as well. If I had more money I'd definitely do the MKP omakase, I would have done it. Plus the chef was cute too so food for the belly and eye candy for your eyes haha. He talked low so I could not hear what the dishes were lol.

Greg J.

Yelp
Had a great experience tonight while dining at Yujo. The atmosphere was perfect for the restaurant, it was a small and personable environment and the service fit! We thought the food was good and the menu was elastic.

Justin S.

Yelp
The owner + sushi chefs takes care of you really well. If you're one of the lucky customers sitting at the sushi bar, the sushi chef will make sure all of your needs are accommodated!

Yelp
WHAT I ORDERED: Miyabi Omakase, Uni Pasta, Fatty Roll, A Summer Day Cocktail, Yujo Sour Cocktail PARKING: Parking lot with plenty of spots INSIDE: Intimate setting with fun décor, bathrooms are available, the staff was friendly and attentive and service was quick. Sat at the bar and the chef matches your space when presenting the next dish. The had a little sign placed at your spot writing out what you're celebrating which was a nice touch. THE FOODS/DRINKS: The Miyabi Omakase comes with 13 courses and my favorites were the oyster shooter, yellowtail and toro. The ube ice cream at the end was also delicious and a great way to end our meal. We also ordered the uni pasta and fatty roll and was a great addition to the omakase. Everything tasted fresh and appreciated the chef describing each dish. The drinks were good but nothing that really stood out to me.

Andy P.

Yelp
Overall wasn't bad... nice decor inside. I was debating between rounding up or down for my review but I think 4 stars is pretty good and a sign that I'd dine there again. Service was fine, no issues there. The chef was a bit soft spoken and it was a bit loud in there but nothing to complain about. I think most of the food was average at best... I ordered the Miyabi omakase... food was good but not great. Nothing really stood out to me at all. I wouldn't totally be against going back but also don't have any desire to. I think there are much better options in for around the same price point.

Yelp
My Asian Grub in DF Dub Facebook group did not steer me wrong. I've been looking for a really amazing omakase spot in DFW that's comparable to my favorite omakase spots in Los Angeles and this is the one right here. I almost don't want to share this review. I want to gate-keep the heck out of this place. I don't even know where to begin. Going to this place was kind of sketch, I'm not going to lie. We entered through the Shell parking lot into this huge strip mall. Don't let this deter you to coming here because it's deceptively beautiful inside too with incredible food! I made reservations on Tock and promptly got seated. We arrived 10 minutes early. They take a $25/person non-refundable deposit when you reserve, but they put it towards your bill at the end. We knew we wanted the omakase experience so we did the Tokujo omakase tasting which was 16 courses including appetizers and dessert. It was market price, but we paid around $160 per person. We also had the sake pairing. Everything that the chef put out in front of us was a work of art, as you can see from the pictures. Everything was unbelievably fresh and tasty. I can't pinpoint to one particular dish that I loved, but there are a few that come to mind -- this red snapper with a yuzu glaze, scallop with uni on top, and the unagi with foil gras. Each course was a perfect story of a journey the chef wanted to take us on. I would definitely come back here again. I think I might be obsessed.

Yelp
Don't walk, RUN to Yujo! One of the best sushi spots in town. Went here for dinner today and loved everything we ordered on the menu. My favourites were the Uni Pasta, Brussels Sprouts, Madai Carpaccio and the Pomodoro Salmon. You basically can't go wrong with anything you order. The cocktails were to die for as well! We got the Summer day, Pacific 75 and Dawn at Kawaguchi...all FAB!!! The service was decent, although could have been a bit more prompt. The ambience was that of a cozy upscale sushi place. Highly highly recommend you visit. Will be vac for sure!

Catalina M.

Yelp
Amazing place! The food was amazing and the places I small and cosy. Will definitely come back! Service was friendly

Tammy D.

Yelp
Yujo is quite good. Made a reservation here just in case cause it was Friday. We sat the bar and it was a little awkward because the seating is lower than the bar. I wish they changed that to make it easier. Service was very quick and friendly. I've had a lot of sushi in the DFW area so I do know what I like. Their fish is fresh and it was good, but to me, about half of the things they had, I liked better elsewhere. This isn't to say they're bad, I just have my preferences. The star items I did really really like here though was the Bonito tataki and the spicy tuna hand roll. It was soooo good. I think it was the addition of the crunchy fried garlic that made it over the top for me. As far as drinks, definitely liked the yujo sour better. It's another good sushi restaurant in the dfw for sure. If asked, I'd go here again

Yelp
I got to experience Yujo with a group of friends (party of 6) last month, a few days before Christmas, and we had a nice time. The six of us all opted for the premium omakase because we were very interested in trying the dry-aged fish that they advertise on their website and socials. For the most part everything we ate tasted good - some courses were more standout than others, and the vibe inside was pretty trendy. Service was also mostly prompt and everything was plated beautifully. The pros first: the sushi rice was excellent, the fish was all super fresh, and the dry-aged fish courses were very interesting and tasty. One of our initial courses was a sous vide salmon with ikura and wasabi crema that rocked our socks off, and one of our last decadent nigiri courses was unagi with nori, foie gras, and garlic chips, a true umami bomb. There were a lot of inventive flavor combos, and for the most part the fish wasn't ever too drowned out despite some of the more gimmicky bells and whistles (caviar, truffle, sprayed-on gold flakes, smoky bowls, etc). Drinks were also quite tasty throughout the evening. The cons: I think when a tasting menu is billed as 16 courses, it's a little odd to bring a tiny bowl of sashimi with one slice each of three different fish and say it's three courses out of the 16. Just seems a bit stingy to me, especially when it's presented as one dish. We were also at a corner table for our party so a lot of our nigiri came out 3-4 at a time, which is fine, but feels like a less personal touch than other omakase counters where you watch the chef prepare each nigiri and give it to you fresh. The fried sweet shrimp heads were also underfried - the best ones you can eat whole because they were fried enough to be totally crunchy all the way through, exoskeleton and all, but here only the skinny legs reached that level of crunch. At the end of the day, I think I just prefer a more traditional approach to omakase that allows the fish to shine in its purest form. That isn't to say that Yujo is bad - I would certainly return, possibly for an a la carte dinner in which I could control more of what I was eating, but for an omakase menu that suits my personal preferences more, I'd look elsewhere.

Laura W.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday evening for a standard omakase. At $75 per person in Dallas, I was hoping for a really good piece of Toro or scallop, the fish were mostly standard fish, well executed with the occasional truffle oil garnish as an luxury touch. I think for this omakase, $60 pp would have been more appropriate for Dallas. Creative, delicious food and good service! It was not too hard to book an appt, I booked mid week. Ambience is nice and cozy. Lots of couples celebrating special occasions.

Lisa R.

Yelp
We had a very nice meal here with our friends Brian M. and Carlie M. last night. This is the sister restaurant to Kyodai which we have been to in Carrollton with the same couple. There are a few omakase options, but everyone decided to order a la carte since the menu had a lot of interesting options. Eric R. and I shared the triple tuna, a sashimi dish with two slices each of akami, chutoro, and otoro. Every piece was flavorful, and I was especially surprised by the tastiness of the lean tuna. I enjoyed a toro handroll and four pieces of nigiri: black cod, salmon belly, shima aji (mackerel), and Golden Seafoam, which was scallop topped with foie gras and uni. I also enjoyed uni chawanmushi from the hot appetizer list (it takes time to prepare), which was egg custard that had some enoki mushrooms and seafood in it, topped with uni and caviar. Next I had a yellowtail handroll since I noticed yellowtail was not offered as sashimi or nigiri in any other way. To close out, I ordered the fatty roll which had wagyu, uni, scallop, and toro with avocado and shiso. It was decadent! Our friends had a VIP token which they redeemed for free sushi. The chef send seared fatty salmon with a spicy mayo broiled and a drizzle of eel sauce. It was very tasty. We enjoyed hot green tea throughout the meal which was refilled regularly, and many staff checked in on us to see how we were doing. The ambiance is very nice and the quality of the food is outstanding. I definitely would return here to try other items on the menu. Itadakimasu!

Yelp
We arrived on a Saturday night with no reservation, and were able to get seated at the bar. The seating is limited, but I'm a fan of this as it creates a more intimate setting and at the bar we're able to see the chefs at work more closely. We ordered a few items, including a Kyodai Roll, foie gras, and handrolls, all of which were delicious. Their drink menu offers a lot of great cocktail options that they put a similar amount of effort into as they do with the sushi to create a fresh and beautiful drink made with high quality ingredients.

Jason W.

Yelp
Great little sushi restaurant in Dallas that features a couple omakase options as well as a la carte dishes. Bonus points for a great sake menu. Price was $75 for the 13 course option and $160 (MP) for the 16 course option (presumably with much more seasonal and premium ingredients). We opted for the former. Overall, the omakase menu was good and well thought out. The sushi rice was unique and seasoned a little more aggressively than most places I've been to. Quality of fish was great overall. Great value in DTX for a quality omakase option. Yujo is fairly small and plays a little soft jazz the background. The restaurant is fairly quiet overall. Service was fast and great all-around. If you're looking for an upscale sushi restaurant in Dallas Yujo should be on your list. Yujo may have one of the best values around for this type of dining.

Liz G.

Yelp
Brand new spot for Japanese food at Preston and LBJ (just a few doors down from Dougherty's). It is an intimate setting with a small sushi bar and a few tables. Definitely try to get a reservation! We went on a Saturday night without a res, and they got us in, but I know we were fortunate that night to get a seat. Service was impeccably attentive, and it was kind of unbelievable that they've only been open a couple of weeks. They definitely know their business. We started off with hubby's tuna sashimi and their roasted Brussels Sprouts - which, if I'm being honest, was my own personal reason for wanting to go. They were definitely in my top 3 Brussels Sprouts dishes I've ever eaten. They were roasted to perfection and tossed in an incredibly flavorful sauce. We also got a Seared Wagyu Roll and some refreshing cucumbers. We did decide to get the Chocolate Crepe Cake for dessert. The flavor was very light - which was a welcome change from the super rich dessert options we're usually presented with these days.

Sarah N.

Yelp
I was not prepared for all the flavor bombs Yujo was throwing at me. My friend and I were going to go with just the Miyabi omakase but were convinced we needed the Tokujo after hearing about what was included (including dry aged fish!). They apologized in advance for putting us in that room in the front so it wouldn't be a bar experience and might have a lack of attention but I think neither my friend nor I thought that at all! Our dishes came out quick, and we were frequently checked on by the servers and who I assume was the owner or manager as well. We actually really liked the room, it was nice and spacious! The food was absolutely incredible and it's only convinced me that I need to come back and try the uni craze omakase and probably get the Tokujo again! I cannot wait to come back!!

Carlie M.

Yelp
If you were a fan of Kyodai in Carrollton or Frisco (both of which have been rebranded to Yujo fyi) then you'll find what you want here too. Semi upscale but still legit sushi. Super fresh fish. Great staff and great service.

Isaiah S.

Yelp
The place has a really nice vibe. Small traditional Japanese style inside. Very good quality. Service was good, sushi was also good. They offer a tasting menu, which is fun. They sat my friend and I with no reservation and were very polite and attentive. Prices are high but quality matches. Will be back.

Richard C.

Yelp
Ordered a la carte, food was delicious. Got the dry aged nigiris, tuna flights, and other basic nigiris. Tasted fresh, but probably should have tried to come for the Tuna Show.

Rahul G.

Yelp
We went on Friday night during their soft opening, had reservations and were seated pretty promptly. It's a beautiful space and a lot of the customers were taking pictures of themselves . We asked the manager for a couple of not too sweet cocktails. Andrew, the bar tender, was very busy and was not taking any shortcuts. Getting the drinks took a while. Yujo has few versions of a fixed price menu. We opted for the super special one that ran $175 per person. Sake pairing added 25 pp. The food started before the drink came out . It was soft opening so we gave them grace for this minor lapse. The first course was a round salmon patty with ginger on a bed of avocado. Absolutely delicious and amongst the best "sushi" I've ever had. This and subsequent courses highlighted that Yujo sources excellent seafood and beef. They get both uni from Santa Barbara and from Japan. Speaking of Uni, I indicated that I'm not a fan and they offered to customize my dinner vs my wife's who does like Uni. Midway through dinner I changed my mind and they graciously adapted the remaining courses to include Uni. Apparently I just don't like bad Uni. At first service was a little off, for example there were at one point 3 courses piling up at our table. When I asked them to slow down, they did. The mystery drink was delicious by the way. Some combination of aged tequila, cucumber and the glass was finished with some wasabi salt or spice. A piece of art! Some other highlights: The Wagyu steamed beef just melted in our mouths. I would not have been able to identify it as beef if someone had placed it in my mouth blindfolded. Each course was presented in a beautiful manner. The dry aged fish, part of the, super special fixed price menu, was unique and delicious. Sake pairing hit the spot. We are not experts but loved the first two sakes and enjoyed the final, sweeter sake as it matched well with the final courses. The wine list is fairly priced. Seems like red wines are not at cellar temperature so if this important to you, stick with the white wine or just enjoy the sake. We left very full and happy that we tried this restaurant. Hope this place does well. It is fairly high end for the location but worth it.

Chantal S.

Yelp
Wonderful experience- awesome vibe with very attentive and polite service. I ordered the Miyabi which is a 13 course omakase offering for $75. There were many very creative offerings- booming with flavor and delicate fresh fish. They served some courses with dry aged fish that I very much enjoyed. 2 of the courses were not to my preference, but again, very unique. Started off with an appetizer (forgot to photo-and ended with a delicious miso soup). When I come back, will definitely try the menu items as I saw them on other people's plates and they looked amazing- will update you then as I will DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK it would be unfair to rate 4 stars because of two courses not to my taste- so giving the full five here. Forgot to mention that the omakase comes with a delicious mango ice cream with fun and yummy garnishes!

Sophia P.

Yelp
Cute, quaint sushi place with different omakase offerings as well as ala carte options. I had the 13 course omakase for $75, which I think is a pretty reasonable price. The omakase itself was alright, mid at best. Lots of tuna and yellowtail offerings, the only salmon was in a hand roll chopped up. I think the majority of the flavors were very muted, nothing special. The only nigiri I really like and honestly the star of the whole meal was the cod one (burst of umami and smoky flavor). I couldn't really taste the freshness of the fish. Desserts were meh, was hoping for Japanese inspired ones. For this same price, I rather hit up Hatsuyuki.

Yelp
Brian. Fucking. Reinhart. Look, I've loved the guy ever since his hilariously wheels-off evisceration of The Mexican (look up that D Mag review if you missed it). But man, you led us astray on this one, Brian. We excitedly booked a reservation here for the day after the D Mag mini-review hit. Affordable omakase?? Hell yeah! So, here's where Brian isn't totally to blame, because we assumed the 16-course "market price" omakase wouldn't be much more than the 13-course option ($75). I mean, Brian described the restaurant as affordable/approachable...with no caveats noted...and how much more could 3 extra courses cost?? Well, we deffffffinitely should have verified that price assumption, because when the bill came for $175/person, we were a little shell-shocked. Ok, price aside, let's talk taste buds. All of the nigiri were excellent. The other dishes were...fine. But for $175/person, every single course should be incredible. Service? I love the people here. I really want them to succeed. Everyone seemed so kind. That said, I have to say that there were several missteps. I'll overlook most of them given that they'd been open for less than a week. However, there was one issue too big not to mention. I have a shellfish allergy (side note: I appreciate that they're open to substitutions on the omakase for allergies) and informed the waitress of this when we ordered. But...I guess she didn't inform the chefs? Not one but TWO courses with shellfish were put in front of me. I noticed the first one; the second one was scallop under pudding, and I would have dug right into it without knowing if they hadn't frantically run over and stopped me. Kudos to the younger sushi chef who consistently kept an eye on the dishes being served to me. In terms of ambiance, the interior is lovely but falls short of the glamorous interiors of most restaurants in Dallas where I'd drop $175/person. The easiest and most impactful change they could make would be to adjust the lighting, which is rather bright. I realize it's tough to give the chefs the light they need in such a small space, but I think there's still room for improvement here. (Bathrooms too.) Finally, I have to note that the owner/manager(?) was going around to every table asking for one-star Google reviews. Sort of a shtick about how they aren't competing for stars, from what I understood (although I don't quite understand it -- ratings platforms are only helpful if the ratings mean something, and a single restaurant isn't going to break Google). Anyway, I mention that as a possible explanation for the bizarrely positive one-star review among the current Yelp reviews (not the one complaining of racism, which I didn't observe in any form, FYI). Ultimately, I wouldn't come back here for the 16-course omakase (so long as it's priced the same as others in DFW that, in my opinion, are more deserving of the pricetag), but the nigiri were fantastic, so I'd probably come back for that at some point. It's still not exactly cheap, but for those times that you want something a little more elevated than your neighborhood sushi joint, I think it'd be a good option for some nigiri and rolls. Or maybe that $75 omakase option is worth a try...but I think I'd rather spend my money exclusively on nigiri here.

Yelp
My bf and I tried the Miyabi Omakase-- we're blown away by it, it was a great experience. If you're looking for affordable quality omakase then this is it. We can tell a couple courses were slightly influenced by SE Asian flavors by the ingredients they used and how they seasoned certain things. However, these courses still held onto the traditional palette of Japanese sushi/nigiri. Which I love. Our courses incorporated a variety of flavors and methods of cooking. You really get to try a little bit of everything. I also love the cozy and intimate ambiance. We didn't sit at the bar but our seats were situated to face the bar to watch the busy cadence that unfolded for the night. Like dinner and a show. The only thing I would note is that the 13-course didn't leave me as full as I'd like. I don't expect to be stuffed after an omakase but I was hoping to be somewhat content (80% full). I feel like I was only at 65-70%. If one of the courses was a little bit more filling, I think it would've been perfect. Overall, great service, food, and experience. And they also left a little "happy birthday" stand at our table, I appreciated the little detail.

Yelp
Serving staff and chef were very nice. The ambiance was also not so bad. We tried the dry aged dish and a few other pieces of nigiri. Quality of the fish was not so bad, however, the rice made the entire experience even worse. It would fall apart as it was very dry.

Yelp
Very well-prepared food! Very professional service! And I enjoyed everything here, Our group tried both options omakase and they were beyond our expectations

Yelp
I had the base omakase set here and it was a wonderful experience. This place has instantly made it to the top of my list for sushi places. The omakase was great and the a la carte menu is very well priced as well. Every course was well balanced with flavor, fish tasted great and high quality. Rice in the nigiris was done well. The pace of the meal was perfect and the chefs made sure to let us know of everything we were eating. I appreciate that this place is no nonsense. You can easily get a reservation online. So many places are charging an arm and a leg for an "omakase" experience and force you to fight over reservations. Save yourself the headache and just come here.

Yelp
Very affordable Omakase experience. I have tried many in Dallas, Scottsdale and Miami. The staff were awesome and accommodating. We showed up to our reservation accidentally making a mistake and making the reservation online a week later. We waited for about 15 min and they accommodated us! We were so grateful! Great ambiance in the restaurant! Food was good too! Service was excellent. Sushi chefs were very easy to talk to.

Yelp
Loved dinner tonight. This restaurant is a gem. The space is beautiful. The staff was fantastic. We got a great table quickly. We shared a bottle of wine and did the 13 course omakase. Everything was spot on. I didn't have a bad bite. Really a lovely experience.

Yelp
First time dining at this sushi restaurant. Inside is beautiful and decorated like Japan. Very cozy and inviting inside. We made a reservation via online with a deposit required. When we got there after halfway through our meal, we decided to upgrade from 13 to 16 course sushi meal. Let me tell you. This was the best decision ever! Each quality sushi was so good and so fresh. Our sushi chef named Jared was very experience and knowledgeable. Every sushi Jared served was very tasteful and exploded in your mouth. The 16 course sushi ended to be an amazing 2 hour experience. We will definitely return with our friends and family soon.

Yelp
Intimate sushi joint bolstering a variety of drinks and self coined first dry aged fish used in Dallas. Celebrated my date with the standard 13 course omakase. Our chef was Jarod and manager for the day was Tony. Jarod was excellent and attentive serving at a pace so my girlfriend can keep up with and also catered to our diet, he even let me take a double take on some pieces that I absolutely enjoyed. Tony was cheerful and friendly, besides asking how the food was, he allowed us to try different types of items on/off menu to make sure we were satisfied! Highly recommend their blackened cod and tuna hand roll (has crispy shallots inside for excellent texture). There was a cucumber drink lined with wasabi salt that I cannot spell the name out that I cannot recommend enough but do try it! Definitely sit at the sushi bar to get to know your chef, you won't regret it! Overall Service 10/10 Food 9/10 Cleanliness 10/10

Yelp
The ambiance is good, but the quality of the food is subpar. We did the omakase and were generally disappointed in the quality of some of the dishes-- the nigiri was good, but everything else was underwhelming. The dessert, in particular, was inedible. Try Uchi/Uchiko instead, or go to Tatsumi in Austin.

Yelp
As someone who's a huge fan of Uchi I have to say after 2 times that Uchi's service has left us down Yujo has them beat in every aspect. The sushi grade is amazing, every single bite was delicious and you get more for your buck. The place is small but beautifully decorated.

Yelp
Recently celebrating my birthday here and it was a wonderful experience. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Even though we went on a Wednesday night with a reservation it still was pretty packed. So either get a reservation in early or pray your wait time is not too long - but the wait is worth it. Perhaps even indulge in a highball. The Miyabi Omakase was so delicious!! I'm still talking about it to this day. Such a wonderful experience in this cozy space.

Yelp
Went to the soft opening and got the 13 course omakase. We started off with an oyster shoot which had with masago, quail egg yolk and added uni for extra $. This omakase was followed by such delicious and high quality fish. The uni pasta was so creamy and rich in flavor. The pasta was definitely one of my favorite dishes, I highly recommend! This place is one of the first restaurants that have dry aged fish in dfw so its a must try!

Yelp
Omgeeee! I loved my whole experience at Yujo! I got the MKP 16 course omakase and it did not disappoint! Tony was an amazing host/owner who knew how to keep his customers feel noticed and taken cared of. We sat at the bar for omakase! They have great plating and each waitress were super nice. The sushi chefs explained each creation with a smile. My first post after moving to Dallas and i am so glad i waited till Yujo! I loved each course as it brought amazing taste and beautiful visuals! It is so hard to choose which was my favorite but i promise you, you get a variety of flavors. The flavors range from sweet, full, smokey, rich, fresh, light, and etc. The house sake were delicious and a perfect pair to the omakase course! I recommend the 16 course because you get most of the special nigiris! I cannot forget the a5 wagyu with uni... im going back just for this same experience!!!!!! I loved loved loved it and have been recommending it to everybody around me!

Yelp
used to be kyodai but they rebranded to yujo. not a bad deal for 'omakase'. you can get the miyabi for $75 and sushi comes out to you in courses. don't expect long explanations about each ingredient that goes into the courses but its still pretty good! they highlighted one of the dishes with a bayberry and i've never seen anyone in america ever cook/use it as an ingredient in food. the dishes are also served very nicely in aesthetic dishes. reservations are pretty easy to make and service is fast. i'd recommend this as a pretty good date night spot for dinner.

Yelp
I went here for my husband's bday. Really loved the atmosphere and Tony is impeccable host. We got: 4 Handroll special: pretty good, on par with Kyodai. sushi quality was fresh Uni Carbonara: the standout for the night. it was warm delicious and umami. I will come back here just for this Volcano roll: by the time this came I was simply too full. presentation was good! I would definitely come back just for the carbonara.

Yelp
Went during soft opening, and really enjoyed my time there. I dined in for dinner with my sister and we both got the miyabi omakase course + some. Everything was so so good and the atmosphere was very classy and aesthetically pleasing. Lighting is incredible for photos and the staff, including the owner, checked in on us often. Definitely have to try the aged fish that they are being known for! Prices are on the higher side. But if you want to splurge on some really good sushi, I recommend you come here! Will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Had an anniversary dinner here on a weekday and the place was packed so I'm glad I made a reservation. Very limited seating so I was happy we were seated at the bar. We opted for the 16 course omakase and it was exceptional. I would highly recommend it. Our chef was super attentive and explained each course in detail.

Yelp
The omakase experience was nice here. They really hype up their dry aged fish but if they didn't tell me it was dry aged, I wouldn't have been able to tell a difference lol. I would be open to come back here again! Great for date night.
