Atlanta Restaurants: Korean Taco Restaurant Yumbii and Takeout Restaurant the Queso Shop Are Opening at the Publix-Anchored Moores Mill Center | Eater Atlanta

"A Korean taco and burrito concept opening at the Publix-anchored Moores Mill Center later this year, this spot mirrors its Brookwood Hills and Toco Hills locations with an ordering counter plus seating in a dining room, a bar, and front and side patios. The menu emphasizes Korean tacos and burritos alongside wings, salad bowls, and sesame fries, with beer, wine, tequila and margaritas offered to pair with the food. Founded by Carson Young as a food truck in 2010, the operation graduated to a permanent Buckhead-area location six years later and has grown into a multi-concept operation." - Beth McKibben

The three tacos I had were FIRE!!! And those fries were sensational! Very seasoned. I spent about $20. Wish the meal came with a side instead of having to order the fries on the side, but nonetheless it was really good and filling.

Google
This place is great. Not a lot of food in the area where you don't have to sit down and have a waitress or waiter. I really like the sesame fries with the cheese sauce.. tacos are great. So is the burrito. He should price everything's always fresh.

Google
Stumbled upon this spot as we got in town from Nashville . Food was delicious. Definitely will be back!!!!

Google
An unusually bad experience via Uber Eats today. The sesame fries had little to no sesame on them and were stale! The quesadilla was flavorless mess. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. How do you make sesame fries with no sesame seasoning!?! Do better!

Google
I had the Gochujang Buffalo 6 chicken wing meal with Fries and a drink for $14.99 and was stuff. The wings were delicious and not tiny wings and the fries was a massive basket that two could have split. Definitely worth a revisit.

Stopped by Saturday evening with my daughter and I tried the Chilli lime Shrimp Taco with slaw and crema and the Korean BBQ Chicken taco both on corn tortillas. These were the 2 that didn't have any gluten ingredients. Both were flaborful, only problem was the tortillas weren't cooked very much. Maybe it was steamed but that affected the taste and my rating. I'll ask for the tortilla to be cooked more next time. Overall,Great visual Aesthetics inside, bright lighting, open seating, easy to order, open kitchen style. Customer service was so incredible. she was super friendly.

Google
Enjoyed my visit. Great service and the cheese steak was delicious. There were quiet a few options and prices aren't too high but typical for most takeout. Would definitely eat there again.

Google
Today was my first visit (along w/ my mom) and I absolutely enjoyed everything I ate. The rice bowl (and salad bowl) was really flavorful, delicious and fulfilling. The wings… covered in honey sriracha sauce… we’re absolutely perfect. They had a really nice crisp on them & the flavor was super good. Definitely try the Agua Fresca!! The service was great too!!

Yelp
Yumbii really surprised me in the best way. I tried the wings, the fries, and the queso, and everything was genuinely delicious. The wings had great flavor, the fries were perfectly crispy, and the queso... listen. I did not expect to love dipping fries in queso as much as I did, but here we are. New personality trait unlocked. And that little sriracha touch they add? I didn't know I needed that in my life, but apparently I did. It gives everything this tiny kick that just works. Yumbii is one of those spots where the food comes out fast, hot, and seasoned like someone tasted it before sending it out. Perfect for a quick lunch, a snack run, or when you just need something that hits without being complicated. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
On my quest for delicious and unique eateries I have my go to process and search the Diners Drive inns and Dives places and then check the Yelp posts. Yumbii looked like a slam dunk and it sure was. The place is hip! Bright and flashy open and inviting. The young lady behind the counter was very helpful. I wanted to try several things one being the sesame fries. She steered me to the 2 taco combo that comes with fries and a drink. The fries are interesting but I sensed no sesame. It had a crunchy light coating and a touch of Asian spice and some sugar. Weird but a must try. The portion of fries was ample. The Asian rib eye taco was top shelf delicious. It was also a lot of meat in that taco. The Korean fried chicken taco was marinated and tasty fired chicken chunks and a righteous sauce. I tried the cucumber lime agua Fresca and it was different and super sweet. I wound up cutting it down with a little water. If you are an adventurous eater this place is for you

Yelp
Only ordered the loaded fries to share thinking it was gonna be a nice snack. We polished it off, absolutely stuffed, didn't eat dinner later. This is a seriously huge plate of nacho-fries with a good amount of meat and cheese. It's like $12, I'd say good value, but better as an app or a large side for a group of 4 or more. I regret not sharing tacos and a side of sesame fries. The fries are very crispy and while they held up well to the toppings, I'd prefer them on their own. The meat was pretty good also, so i think it would've been better to have it as a taco vs mixed into this nacho mix. Oh well, next time I guess!

Yelp
The food is so fresh and tasty! I love the ambiance here it is chic and the service was great too.

Yelp
The restaurant was calm and the environment was chill. I enjoyed that the cashier permitted me to sample the chicken and steak to decide on the bowl to get. Excellent service! Food was great and it's a nice combination of cultures. Certainly worth giving a try and mixing it up from the usual!

Yelp
I'm not sure what to make of my experience with this place. The service was really good I'll say that but don't go here expecting traditional tacos. They have more of a twist on their tacos. I got two of the fried chicken tacos. I overlooked the jalapeños on them but that was ok. I just took them off. They still a bit of a kick though. I also would've preferred the meat shredded. The fries were hot and fresh but I didn't care too much for the seasoning myself. I know they were sesame fries but they were too sweet for my taste. I would've liked them just plain. I'm not sure what type of ingredients they use but my body didn't agree unfortunately. My stomach has been in knots since I had them a day ago. Actually went to sleep early because I couldn't deal with the pain from it. I had to throw out the other taco and most of the fries when I felt my stomach literally turning as I ate. I really do wish this was a better experience for me. Again, the service was really good. Music was good. The inside is cute and simple. The food just didn't agree with me for whatever reason.

Yelp
I have dined here a number of times and realized I have yet to write a review. My most recent visit was this past Saturday around 2pm. This restaurant is located in the same shopping plaza as Publix. There is plenty of parking directly in front of the restaurant. When I walked in there were no patrons and one staff. You can place your order at a kiosk, however, I am sure the staff can also take your order. I ordered a salad bowl and sesame fries ; don't judge me)! I have had these fries during every visit- they are that good! The salad was fresh and tasty. I have also tried the wings that are amazing! Overall- food is sold, service is decent and the restaurant is clean. It's a great spot to check out!

Yelp
I love this location! I usually order pickup online from their website and picking up my order is always a breeze. The staff are friendly and the food is always delicious and flavorful. I often get the two tacos and fries combo which does come with a drink. The panko shrimp and panko fish are usually the two I go for and I love it! I've also had the korean bbq chicken taco and buttermilk fried chicken taco which are just as delightful. The fries are a must have and the blend of sweet and savory withy be sesame and whatever magical seasoning they use....A...1! If you're looking for a sweet treat, the churros are sooooooo goooood! Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for good tacos!
google avatar

Rashad M.

Yelp
The Fries & Queso are ALWAYS a hot and you can't beat the price for the amount they give you. When it comes to the chicken wings specify if you want flats or drums only because I didn't and got like 2 flats. The service is good.

Yelp
Popped by after an errand in the area. Super fast service. Food was good! Burrito was much spicer than I expected (my spice tolerance is low- I can do salsa but not much else).
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
My vibes were pretty and nice. My friends recommended this place and they had a self help kiosk. I ordered 2 tacos and a drink along with fries as my side and Mexican corn. The beef tacos were a bit too salty for me but the shrimp was really good and crunchy! I asked for no lettuce on mine. I was with a group of friends and we ordered elote. However, we only received one of two and wasn't notified that they would be out of the second one until I asked. They offered me a popsicle instead of the elote. Elote was pretty good. Just wished I could another one!

Yelp
We ordered 2 tacos and the fries to go. It was kind of expensive to be honest and I was not a fan of the tacos. There wasn't a lot of topping/filler in them. The fries were great and tasted like sesame those I can recommend! Maybe it was the tacos we ordered that weren't specifically good. It is a self service taco place so I also was confused why so many people were working there! They were all standing around judging as it seemed while we wait for our food.

Yelp
I was excited to see a yumbii in this side and of town. This location has a small patio on the side and free parking in front of it. They serve margaritas too, I haven't had one yet. You can order at the kiosks or walk up to the counter to order but the kiosks are pretty straight forward. The people at the counter have always been friendly and will bring your food to the table when it's ready. You can't go wrong with anything there. My favorites are the fries and the Asian beef ribeye taco.

Tica F.

Yelp
Christian H took my order and was very helpful to answer my questions about the menu. I ordered to dine in with a burrito to go. I tried the famous sesame fries with much apprehension but man, they did not disappoint and were served with house made ketchup. Absolutely outstanding! The taco portions are really big, and more than I expected (or I would not have ordered a burrito to-go ). The place was very clean, fully serviced and clean restrooms and free wifi for people that wanted to hangout with their computers. Huge open windows with plenty of great sunlight and tables spaced far enough apart to not feel crowded. I think this would be a good spot for a first date if you get a lunch and are not looking for alcohol. Several different types of bottled sodas, tea, and house made Agua Frescas. The Cucumber Mint is delicious! I am stunned it took me so long to find this hidden gem. I absolutely recommend a visit!

Yelp
Visited for a quick dinner on a weekend. Lots of parking. Shares a parking lot and plaza with Publix and other relevant shops and businesses. Food was decent, but feel like I've had better executed Asian fusion for cheaper in the area.
google avatar

Puff B.

Yelp
Just fantastic! This was my 3rd visit and each every time I am left 1000% satisfied. The service is just (chefs kiss) phenomenal. Every time. It doesn't matter who is working. Food is always yummy. 20/10 can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
I visit this place in September 2923 and ordered chicken tacos. I revisited back in March and ordered the HONEY SRIRACHA wings with the sesame fries! Are a game changer! The wings and fries are a great portion sizes and very filling! Definitely my go to item at Yumbii!

Yelp
Fusion cuisine is always a hit or miss for me. Here, it's a bit of a miss. The concept is Asian tacos, burritos, rice bowls, and salads (with a few regional specials such as Nashville hot chicken). What seems to make it 'Asian' is the use of gochujang - a Korean fermented pepper paste - as the main sauce. I ordered three tacos - fried shrimp, fried fish, and the tofu - and found that it tasted exactly as I imagined, and not necessarily in the best way. The gochujang wasn't really a nuanced or complex addition to the taco experience. The one taco I enjoyed best was the tofu taco, with large cubes of otherwise undressed tofu. As a blander protein (and a more traditional Asian ingredient), it benefitted hugely from the gochujang drizzle, while the other fried proteins were well-prepared yet somewhat incongruously matched with the fermented spice flavor. I found myself frequently wondering if I wouldn't have liked it better with a salsa or hot sauce. Another miss were the sesame fries. The fries are hot and beautifully crisped, but ruined by the unusual dressing of sesame oil, gochugaru (pepper) flakes, and an inescapable sprinkling of sugar. Yes, sugar. I'm a big naysayer when it comes to sweet flavors creeping into savory foods, and this felt like a case in point. If there had been a choice to have an undressed order of fries, I would've chosen it in an instant because they were otherwise well prepared. All that said, they hit a home run with the Nashville hot chicken taco. I don't eat meat so I can't speak to these, but my typically un-opinionated husband absolutely raved about the flavor and texture of these. Yumbii has a few good things going for it. The staff is warm and welcoming, greeting you as soon as you walk in. We appreciatively noticed our server taking the time to bus orders and take empty plates (even though the model seems to be more self-service). The space is inviting as well, with bright lights and plenty of seating. If lines ever get busy, they also offer a choice of order placement - either with a tablet or with a traditional server.

Yelp
There is a Yumbii on the Westside now!!! I usually go to the one across from Piedmont hospital so I'm as super excited to find that a location closer to home popped up! This place is super modern and spacious with plenty of parking unlike the sister location. I ordered my usual Mexican corn with the honey sriracha wings and fries with queso. They have an option to self order which is really convenient and quick. The food wasn't as good as the other location I think they just have some kinks to work out being so new with replicating the recipe. I would def come back in a few months!
google avatar

Vicki R.

Yelp
Not tasty at all and too expensive. The fries were strange - tried to eat them as to not waste money but I couldn't stand them. Tacos were underwhelming! In fact, I feel like I should have been paid to eat the food. Will NOT go back. Barf.
google avatar

Chucky B.

Yelp
I like the Panko Breaded Fish Taco more than the Nashville Hot Chicken Taco, which is rare. I usually pick Nashville ever time, but this time was different. The wings were good too. I customer service was over the top good. I really enjoyed it.

Valerie M.

Yelp
fresh and delicious! My food was ready when I came to pick up and was still hot and packaged very wel!

Marie S.

Yelp
tacos are immaculate. I usually get the shrimp tacos or the buffalo chicken tacos. And don't even get me started about the fries.
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch at Yumbii! Tried the beef tacos and the Buffalo chicken taco, with a side of spicy sourcream (I think that's what it is) . Great sunlight, helped me relax during my lunch and destress. Very peaceful place and the food is worth the time spent! Will go here again, and the service was inviting and most importantly this place was clean and spotless!!!

Emmanuel L.

Yelp
Consistently good food, great sesame fried are a must try. Huge fan of the quesadillas!
google avatar

Whitlei N.

Yelp
The food was pretty good. I had an Asian style taco and a cauliflower taco with the sesame fries. I also had a margarita. I was the only person there as it was right before dinner rush. Nice staff and I got the food quick
google avatar

Yelp
Yumbii is awesome! The family has gone to the original location on Peachtree for years but when we heard of the Westside spot opening, we were so excited. It's a great place - super nice staff, great food, quick and easy. What more can you ask for? All of their offerings are so great but this time we tried the churro bites and they are a must try!! Absolutely check out the new location if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Justin P.

Yelp
fantastic tacos and service! I've been here twice and regret not knowing about this place sooner.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
This place is so good!! I had never tried Yumbii before it opened at this location, and my husband told me to try it. Their French fries are addicting and I've loved everything I've ever gotten (burrito, quesadillas, wings, don't get me started on the corn). It's such a great addition to the neighborhood. I also went to pick up a large to-go order the other night and the manager (maybe owner?) gave me a gift card for my patience since it was taking a long time. Great food, great customer service... highly recommend.

Yelp
Great menu choices, excellent prepared food and professional customer service . The restaurant is very clean and orderly. I will come back for more food. Dr. Miller

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise to find this gem in my backyard. Upon entry, the staff were very helpful (especially Darius aka D). He was patient, gave his recommendations, and were on point. Got the tofu vegetarian taco and the black bean taco. Both were really good but the tofu was the best. My suggestion would be to ask for the tofu to be fried hard if your looking for texture in your taco. The sauces were really good and for a good price. I also got a side of the Aioli sauce which was perfect for me. Also found out that this brand started as a good truck (super cool fun fact), and have now. branched into brick and mortar locations. They also have their sister company next door (The Queso Shop). Had a glance at their menu and will be returning back to give it a try. There are several location throughout the city, so worth the try.

Adrienne S.

Yelp
Typical chain. In west midtown I'm used to super customizable bowls, and everything is pre-selected here. I'm sure you can make modifications here and there but you don't have the array of options that I'm used to. I ordered the salad bowl with panko fish and I didn't enjoy it. Fish is bland and the dressing is some sort of thick mayo based concoction that defeats the purpose of ordering a salad. I also tried the fries because it was advertised on the window as worlds famous, and they are good despite the horrible sweet seasoning they sprinkle on them. Perhaps you can have them leave that off? I can see children loving this place though. For me this place is actually a 1, but I gave it a 3 because most people aren't foodie snobs like me, so take my opinion with a grain of salt! Lol it's a brand new location and it's super cute and clean. The staff is friendly and quick!
google avatar

Sean G.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING!! Great portions, great food, location is nice and clean - easy in and easy out and priced just right for a great lunch. Service is spectacular - its a must do!

Yelp
Tacos were fresher than fresh. Amazing I must say. Service was great , place was super clean .i will return

Yelp
I love the food at this place, but you have to be careful if you go in. I've been here tons of time, but today was the first day that I realized that they automatically add a tip. I went to this location. I purchased my food at the counter. I scanned my credit card and I signed and hit done. The amount of my receipt was different from the amount from my notification I received on my phone. I asked the lady what was the difference she said that if I don't choose zero for the tip, then they automatically add the tip. So I informed the lady I did not intend on leaving a tip being that I walked from my car, came inside the location and purchased the order and then waited for them to cook it. I'm not sure why all of these restaurants are requiring tips for doing their job. It's not a waitress making two dollars an hour that needs to supplement with tips. It's just a cashier and a chef. The manager came over and said you don't wanna leave a tip in a very stern voice. I responded clearly, no.
google avatar

Kritika N.

Yelp
Really bad experience. I ordered through Uber eats today - and got undercooked rice! They were literally breaking with a snap sound as I chewed them. I had asked for brown rice - got white, but that's not too bad. Had ordered a burrito, and it was pretty badly made. A total of 4 tofu pieces in the whole burrito and lettuce. The rest was the uncooked rice. Very disappointed :(. I used to go to the Buckhead Yumbii all the time when I lived there, and was pretty excited when they opened up nearby once i moved. Would NOT recommend.

Nick R.

Yelp
Great burritos with a Korean twist. Awesome fries come with Saracha dipping sauce. Yummm...

Kia B.

Yelp
Yumbii tacos and fries are always hot and fresh. if something is not right, they take great pride in making it right. I'm always happy her!

J D.

Yelp
Our favorite quick go-to. Quick service, accurate orders when getting delivery, friendly staff, and recently discovered they have nice margaritas.
google avatar

Dina A.

Yelp
I'm not a taco fan but I had the fries and shrimp taco Amazing food and great customer service please don't ever change that !! The manager or owner is very pleasant !!' Must try

Milla F.

Yelp
Yumbii is the best. The fries are so delicious and they stay crispy for hours, the Korean beef taco and the tempura fish taco are my fav but the Nashville hot chicken is a great one as well! The Mexican corn is so yummy! The service is always perfect. The fresh juices available are delicious. I'm addicted to yumbii and go all the time now

Brittneyy E.

Yelp
Nice restaurant on the outside and inside. Food is not great. Everything is sweet but also bland. Fries are sweet. I had the asian rib eye steak burrito and it wasn't good. The tortilla was falling apart & the filling was just sweet no other flavor profiles were met.

Alexandria J.

Yelp
My first time trying this place and it was really good. I ordered the 2 ribeye tacos with fries combo and I added a side of queso. Everything was really tasty! I will definitely be back!

Brazyl C.

Yelp
the flavors don't do it for me this Mexican Asian fusion is not my thing. and I love Mexican and Asian food but I could not take another bite- sorry I spent my money

Shari P.

Yelp
fresh to order food and great service as well as great location in ATL! the ambiance is nice and clean

M L.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the staff at this location are very nice and friendly, and they work hard. The food is also good. With that said, they need to change their online ordering system to reflect a more reliable pick up time (my pick up time was 7:15 but I didn't get food until 7:45). I would have rather known to show up at 7:45 or order somewhere else knowing the timeframe. I would still order food from here but probably not on typical busy nights.
