Yummy Sushi

This is my second time here in 3 days. The food is beyond exceptional. I love sushi and went to 4 different restaurants in 5 days. There was something to satisfy every sushi craving. The presentation was exquisite, with each piece of fish expertly sliced and arranged. As I took my first bite, the freshness and melt-in-your-mouth texture of the fish was undeniable. The ingredients were top-notch, and the rice was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Food is always good and fresh. Only thing I didn't like was having to pay for eel sauce after ordering $55 worth of food.

They are telling the truth when it says yummy in their name. Really good food, awesome service, atmosphere was just right with some music but not loud that it was overbearing. Definitely coming back again.

Service was super friendly. The salmon avocado roll was really good. And the Fire Pot Soup was the best soup I have ever had in my entire life. Definitely recommend going here

Decent food, terrible service and unreasonable people. Ordered DoorDash, tried to add a couple extra sauces and was willing to pay for it. When there was no way to do so on the site, I called right after I placed the order and ask if I could have a few extra sauces, they said I’d have to pay (I ordered two entrees and they said the most they would give me is one sauce). I was annoyed by this point that they would not just throw in a couple of sauces into a 50 dollar order, but I said fine, and was willing to give a credit card over the phone for a few extra sauces. Then she said they won’t take credit cart orders under 5 dollars! So she *offered* me the opportunity to spend 5 dollars at one dollar a piece to add on to the order. I said no and that that was very unreasonable and that this was poor service. Then she hung up on me. Pitiful service and a complete lack of customer appreciation. Will not be going back.

So glad to discover this place! Great service and fresh tasty food. I had the agedashi tofu, edamame beans, seaweed salad, and the salmon avocado roll. SO GOOD! I'll be back... a lot!!

Prices are unmatched. The Shrimp Tempura roll was only $8! Really delicious. A hidden sushi gem.

Solid Japanese food @ a very reasonable price in a very casual setting. The service was absolutely phenomenal.

This is my son's favorite restaurant. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is good. The last few years have been take out only, but service was friendly and food consistent, so we ordered there regularly. The dining room reopened this summer, and it has been wonderful to go in person. The menus have been updated, and the food has even gotten better.

I found Yummy Sushi using a Yelp search and am surprised I hadn't noticed it before. It's in a little strip mall very near the new Ochsner on Robert E. Lee. Upon arrival we were seated right away and placed our lunch orders. I had a snow crab roll and squid salad, and wasn't blown away. The squid salad was a little fishy and my rolls were on the small side. The service was good, as we had a very attentive waitress, and the place was clean.

Clean restaurant, friendly service, tasty food and really great pricing, specifically the lunch specials. Will absolutely be back again! We had the hibachi steak and shrimp, chicken teriyaki bento box, edamame and a spicy tuna roll. All great!

This is my favorite sushi location in NOLA. I go at least once a month (don't tell my wife). I know that some sushi spots are good, but this one is really good. It is a small business so you a going to see the same workers every time you visit, which I consider a perk (getting to know the staff). They make the sushi quickly and you can have it there, to go, or have it delivered. That is a win-win-win.

Something close in the neighborhood so we tried. Seems good choice if you want to avoid the downtown scene. I had the lunch special sashimi set. It wasn't a lot of food, but quality seems not too bad. This is one of those places where you want to support. I'm glad this place exists near the city park. Come check it out.

Solid choice for neighborhood sushi. It's in a strip mall so ambiance isn't amazing but it's clean and the tables are well spaced. We had great service the night I was there. The drink menu is interesting but I stuck to tea, but my friends enjoyed their cocktails. Many of their specialty rolls come with either eel sauce or spicy mayo. I'm not a fan of either so I just ask for no sauce and they were happy to accommodate. The fish was really good quality the night I was there. And the veggie roll was tasty (always my palate cleanser). I did not see any hibachi action happening the night I was there, so I can't say anything about that. Solid neighborhood choice and I'll be back when I'm out that way.

Yummy sushi is in a small strip mall near my job. We like too go there for lunch, the food is delicious and they have lots of options. My coworker loved to get the bento box lunch and i get rolls of course ;-) During Covid they were take out only but i was still able to get my sushi fix! Food is prepared pretty quickly and is always good.

The restaurant is small and kind of a hole in wall. The staff is very friendly. California rolls 10/10. Most definitely will be going back!

I had been to this place several time and the food was decent. Went for lunch one day and ordered a bento box. While I was eating a roach crawled from under the food. I've never been back and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. GROSS!

A Friday evening late lunch! Top: Hibachi Steak Dinner Bottom: Hibachi Scallop Dinner 2 glasses of Plum Saké Why 2 Stars, you ask? The Hibachi Steak Dinner was ordered 'medium well' but came back undercooked ... twice. Upon notifying the server the second time, she denied to remove the charge of this dish from the bill due to her believing more was eaten than actually was. On the THIRD TRY, they cooked it once more and still some pieces we nearly raw. It was taken to go. The Hibachi Scallop Dinner was *ehh*. Yummy's service was 'okay'. The environment of the restaurant was very quiet due to there not being any other people sitting-in for their lunch/dinner. About 8-10 customers had come in to either pick-up their called-in orders or ordered to-go. All in all: there are better sushi + hibachi eateries in the GNO area!

This is my favorite place to get sushi. When I went to UNO, it was convenient to go with classmates and share a few rolls. I have only dined in. The rolls are a nice size, and are always made fresh. My suggestions for sushi: Tiger Roll Sunshine Roll Burning Man Roll Volcano Roll For dessert: Fried Bananas Mochi Ice Cream The restaurant itself is in a strip mall a block off on the southwest corner of Robert E Lee and Paris Avenues. There is ample parking. It is right next to a nail place, and there is a physical therapy office in the same strip mall. The restrooms are neat and clean, as is the dining area of the restaurant. Now that I have moved further away from Yummy, I still come by, though not as frequently, and they always remember me, ask how I am doing, and are kind.

I absolutely love this place. It's clean it smells good and the food is amazing the staff is very efficient and oh did I mention the food. I have the vegetable rice every other day. When I think of habachi and sushi I take my friends here. I have a picture for you guys but sadly it was so amazing that I had to try some before I took the picture and could not stop myself from eating after that

The customer service at this restaurant is HORRIBLE!!!! I like the food and it was conveniently located near businesses that I patronize, so I tolerated the poor customer service on many occasions. However, I would encourage you to NOT dine with this restaurant. They are so rude that it is disrespectful!! I placed an order that was delivered and asked for four slices of lime to use with my drink and salad. I called to tell them they forgot it, and the lady working that day said "come get it yourself. I'm busy." This is not the first time they have been rude, but it will be the last. Order food from this place if you want a large order of disrespect with your meal!!!! Great option for hibachi near the house. There isn't a show, but that's perfectly ok with me, especially when I just want a quick meal. Every hibachi meal comes with a shrimp, which is a nice touch.

I dont normally make reviews, i usually just read them. But this sushi place shook me so much that i had to give credit to their amazing lunch special I was very hungry after class today and wanted to treat myself for a good lunch. So i noticed there was a sushi bar right down the street. When ordering i couldnt choose between the bento and the sushi lunch special. I Choose the crabmeat tempura lunch bento and hoped for the best. After 10 minutes of eating i was extremely delighted. The karumaki that comes with the box is an eggroll with snowcrab in it (a true delight to find out) the sushi was a right amount and the crabmeant tempura was excellent. I couldnt believe how pleased i was to eat here. The bento really hit all flavor spots that i was hoping for. The rice wasnt very good. Probably the worst thing but the orange really smacked. It was juicy and refreshing between the salty bites. 10/10 would come again just for their lunch special. with my bill only being 9 dollars. I was extremely pleased and tipped well. Tell all your lunch friends to eat here next. Update: I came in again because i had a great experience last time i came. This time i wasn't as pleased though. The fried rice isnt very fried nor has any flavor, its the worst thing in the box. This time i got vegetable tempura and it wasnt so bad. My karumaki however was god awful and so fried that i just ate the filling out of it this time. Sushi is always good. Cant go wrong with any sushi option. Besides it being lunch time ( i came before durring rush hour) this lunch was really underwhelming and i feel that the qaulity of the food isn't consistent. Might not come back after this, maybe just stick to sushi.

I got the sashimi lunch. You can't dine in like all the places. So the salad was just a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and some mayonnaise like dressing wasn't good. Sushi was descent but warm and the sashimi was four small pieces for 12.95 I could have gotten more at Rouses or Little Tokyo. The miso soup was ok I have had much better. Would I recommend not really unless you are needing food and can't get to better.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sushi here. It's kind of a hole in the wall, but the food was good. They were very accommodating to my low carb diet as well.

I have been coming here since it open. Ever since they can not keep me away. They treat me like family ever single time I come. The entire staff is so friendly and sweet extremely polite. I love there sushi the most. I miss it because i am pregnant right now. But I can not wait to come back. I miss talking to them and watching football games there. I love this place.

3/5 it's fine i normally go to the other place (cough, cough), but decided to try this spot one saturday. it wasn't too busy for a late lunch, and the service was really attentive. so that's good. the food wasn't too flavorful, though. i got the bento box that came with soup and salad, which both were oddly bland. normally i find miso too salty, but this didn't really have much flavor, kinda watered-down-ish. the tempura sampler wasn't too great either - you get 2 pieces of shrimp or chicken and then cuts of sad veggies. the tempura was really thick and wasn't that appetizing. the shrimp sorta had a weird taste, and so did the imitation snow crab meat. the rest of the bento box was fine. so yeah, there's that other place.

Where do I begin? A shrimp tempura appetizer with 2 shrimp? Hibachi rice with no vegetables and just eggs? $20 Chirashi meal with 5 kinds of sashimi? No fewer than 3 servers taking care of us? How about this: one of the three servers would not stop badgering my girlfriend and I for leaving a piece of fried zucchini on our shrimp tempura appetizer plate at the end of the meal (we had 2 apps and our entrees at this point), told us to finish it, and didn't bring us the check or take the plate until after we split it in front of him. It was surreal. I wish I was exaggerating, but this server hovered over is like our mother and watched us. Terrible service, lame cookie cutter rolls you could get anywhere, ugly UGLY interior. Not worth it even for the low price.

I found this place hidden behind a Papa John's in Gentilly and almost screamed because sushi and Hibachi has quickly became two of my favorite things in the last year. The place is named "YUMMY" so I owed it to myself to try them out. So far I have been for dinner and lunch and both times were phenomenal experiences. It's a small and very quiet location, great for those dates you take yourself on or a loved one and want it to be a little personable; this would be the place for you. I have tried the wonderful freshly made Snow Crab rolls, Chicken Hibachi, Shrimp and Scallops Hibachi. These were all tasty treats. Each Hibachi dish comes with some great onion soup (that I must say is great for my sinus issues!), a ginger salad (I'm not a big ginger fan but this one has a good blend that's not too much for my palette), hibachi fried rice with a great pepper flavor and hibachi vegetables. Its truly a great and filling meal, so tasteful. I live for scallops so their scallop preparation is just right for me. If you go for lunch you can get a great hibachi meal for about $12 and dinner approximately $15/19. The staff is really friendly and cater to your needs. By it being such a small venue you will definitely get a great experience while dining here. Great place to try at lunch on a weekend in my opinion.

First time here! Not bad at all! We had soft shell crab tempura- delish! A snow crab roll- super delish and only $4.99! Small hot saki! Chicken Hibachi, and Shrimp/ Calamari Hibachi.. Have not ate yet! (Super pissed! I ordered chicken! If I wanted my food to taste like shrimp I would have ordered shrimp! Disgusting! Dry! No flavor other than shrimp!) After soup, salad (dressing was so good), and our app's we were too full! Service was very good, I love the traditional Japanese service! Reason for four star's- NO GINGER SAUCE FOR MY HIBACHI! Reason for downgrade to two stars- freaking shrimp flavored chicken! Stick with sushi that's what they got! NEVER GOING BACK!

Sushi is good by i would only stick to that. I've tried the fried rice and some appetizers and they weren't good, and overpriced. The service is nothing special either. But it's convenient for me because it's next to my school.

I absolutely love this place! I'm a huge fan of sushi and this is by far one of my favorite sushi restaurants in New Orleans. The fish is always fresh, the rolls are nicely sized and the service (dine in or take out) is superb. Things to get: Tuna House Style (lots of tuna) Gold Point Snow Crab Naruto Whitney Roll Jazz Roll

Recently my lady and I attended the season opening game of the Big Easy Rollergirls at UNO's Human Performance Center. Since the game was a double header, it started around 5pm and didn't end until after 9pm. We had made the mistake of not having dinner before the game and were desperate for some food. Unfortunately, a lot of places close after 9, even on a Saturday. Luckily I found Yummy Sushi listed on Yelp. Tucked almost out of sight in a small shopping mall-like area you'll find a very nice, clean, and organized Japanese restaurant. It was late in the evening so other than us there was only one other table. I ordered the Chirashi dinner, which is a standard order I use at new places to judge how they will prepare this classic dish. Yummy Sushi did not disappoint. The sushi cuts were large and plentiful, almost more than I could eat. My girl ordered some rolls which were fresh and delicious. We'll definitely visit again, maybe even make this the place to get dinner on rollerderby nights.

I had the sashimi lunch. The fish was fresh and the prices are fair. This staff isn't the friendliest. I felt sort of rushed to close out because my server just kept watching me and the moment I took my last bite my check was promptly delivered. But my only real complaint about this place is that they don't have an alcohol serving license so there is NO SAKE!!!! A shiver of horror struck my body once I asked for a hot sake with my meal and the server told me they did not serve any alcohol. So I got an ice tea instead. Nothing against ice tea or anything...I mean I love ice tea....but the thought of eating sushi without a hot sake is sort of like eating cake without icing on it to me. It's just one of those things I have to have if I'm in the mood for restaurant quality sushi. Bottom line: good quality fish but I may only get to go orders here from now on since there is no sake to seduce me into staying awhile.

Came here for dinner with my SO the other night, and we were pleasantly surprised. We recently moved to the area, so we wanted to try what few restaurants are nearby. So, we got an order of gyoza, an order of chicken tempura, a rocknroll, and a yummy roll. The gyoza was pretty good, pretty typical pork dumpling. The tempura was pretty good too. It came with 2 pieces of chicken, a slice of sweet potato, a piece of zucchini, a green bean, and an onion ring. Good crunch, good flavor. I can't remember what was in the rocknroll exactly - avocado, crab, and shrimp tempura I think. I do know we finished it. So yeah, it was good. The Yummy Roll is very similar to the rocknroll, but they add fried snapper and spicy mayo on top. It was pretty fantastic. Both rolls tasted fresh and had good flavor. And I got to eat half the Yummy Roll for lunch the next day!

Yummy is very very yummy!!!! Wanted Hibachi without leaving the neighborhood and was NOT disappointed. While it is not cooked at a traditional hibachi bar it is cooked hibachi style and is very very good. The sushi is very fresh and also very good as well!! Yummy yummy yummy!!!!!

I love this place! What could possibly be better than delicious sushi delivered to your door?! Everything is fresh and has very distinctive flavor. Smoked salmon rolls were very good and I get the crab topping as well. This place is amazing

I've been here plenty of times and I've never been disappointed! Not that many people know about it so you always get a table right when you walk in. I've had the same server each time and she is always so nice. The rolls are cut into 8 which I like. I hate when they are too big to eat. They have great lunch specials! Two rolls for $8.50 with a soup AND salad. Their special rolls are reasonably priced. They start at about $7.50 to $13.00. HANDS DOWN BEST SUSHI PLACE I'VE GONE TO IN A LONG TIME!

They have very good lunch bento boxes. I always get beef teriyaki with crunchy rolls. My daughter loves the salmon nigiri and shrimp nigiri. The customer service is also good.

I'd really rate just under 4 stars. Not bad they served a dish not like described because they said they changed it. Would have been nice to know before ordering it. It was beef tataki. It was ok. The squid salad was good and the fire dragon roll was great after adding spicy mayo. Without it it lacks in flavor. Still not bad.

They were very nice but we aren't keen on our hibachi steak and we ordered scallops too but they gave us chicken or something. It doesn't taste very good either.

Atmosphere- Clean and spacious. Little sparse in decorations. Couple TVs here and there. Staff- A bit curt Food- I found the sushi to be so-so. We got 7 rolls and shared them. Nothing great, nothing bad. It was just a meh experience. The sushi rolls looked great and presentation was nice but taste was meh. I won't miss this place but if I'm near it at lunch I'll go back.

Service and food was fast. Miso soups and teriyaki steak were really bland. The gyoza was pretty soggy but the sushi were delicious.

I went on a Friday and sat at the sushi bar. The miso soup was a little thin, I ordered a salmon sushi, gyoza, crunchy shrimp roll & a Philadelphia roll and a BBQ eel sushi for dessert. All were good and fresh. Going back for more.

Solid spot. Very affordable. Sushi isn't the greatest but it is still good. And all Hibachi means are excellence. But price and convenience are both very good and well worth going to Yummy.

I love this place, not too far away from my house, not to busy and always fresh good tasting sushi. My favorite, Utah and tiger roll. Service is great! It's a good place to go.
