Google
First time here and had an amazing experience. The baristas (Elijah, Irene, & Tori) were great and attentive. They let you try whatever they have already made, which made the decision process easier to figure out what I would like to try for my first drink from here. After a handful of samples, I went with their top drink (Dark Phoenix) and I love how strong the tea flavor is. Would love to enjoy more of their other drinks in the future. It’s such a cute place. Whenever I’m in the area, would definitely come back!

Google
Cozy place to hang out and drink delicious tea. So many flavors and they keep introducing new ones. Tori took my order and she was super kind and professional. Also Caleb, Victor and Alice were very efficient at preparing all the orders. This place gets quite busy!

Google
We love Yun tea house. Super cool atmosphere and tea flavor on point, also very unique drinks that you can’t find anywhere else. Elijah has such good energy, super sweet and kind. Elijah and Sam are helpful in drink selection. This is place is good vibes <3

Google
This place has some of the most creative and quirky drink names I’ve come across! While it adds to the fun, it can also make ordering a bit of a mystery—you’ll know the type of tea in each drink, but there’s no clear indication of whether it’s milky or not. A little more detail on the menu would definitely help! I tried several of their house favorites, and each one had a unique taste. Dark Phoenix was my personal favorite—smooth, bold, and flavorful. Duck Sh*t (yes, that’s the actual name!) and Iron Goddess were surprisingly distinct, even for someone like me who isn’t a tea expert. Peachy Princess was light and refreshing with a nice fruity touch, while Matcha Made in Heaven was incredibly rich and indulgent—definitely one for matcha lovers! The variety here is impressive, and it’s clear they put effort into crafting well-balanced flavors. The atmosphere is great for studying or working, but be warned—it gets crowded. The space is quiet, the tables are roomy, and there are plenty of outlets, making it a popular study spot. Because of that, finding a seat can be a challenge during peak hours. If you’re planning to camp out with your laptop, try coming early to grab a good spot. Overall, this is a solid place for tea lovers who enjoy unique flavors and a cozy, work-friendly environment. Just be ready to hunt for a seat if you’re coming during busy times!

Google
The tea house is very cute and modern. I really like the ambience and how spacious the place is. The waterfall table and the clouds in the ceiling add to the ambience. The drinks are very good. We had the dark phoenix and peachy princess. They have a strong tea flavor which a lot of trendy tea houses don’t have anymore. 10/10 highly recommend.

Google
I love iron goddess tea so I had to order their milk version here, and it didn't disappoint! Strong tea flavor and the sweetness was just right. My friend got the hojicha snowy which also had great hojicha flavor of bitterness and sweetness. The decor was cute too. Some of the drinks have pretty unique names.

Google
My new favorite boba place! You really can’t go wrong with any of the top 5 that you have. My personal favorite is the Monkey King, Emperor’s Red Robe, and Dark Phoenix (in that order). Their boba and grass jelly is really good too! I’ve yet to try the Duck Sh!t cause it’s always sold out when I go. William, Ellie, Victor, Alice, and Elijah works very hard and are super friendly :)

Google
I LOVE yun tea. It’s my go-to place for flavorful, creamy milk teas. My favorites are the mango sticky rice drink- the sticky rice is so fun & i like it better than boba toppings && ZzZ drink if I come here at night & need something decaf. Today i was helped by Irene who was so patient & helpful in allowing me to try different samples so I would choose the drink I like best.

Yelp
Jet was a great server who made our drinks very delicious. I asked how sweet they normally were and they had a good knowledge of this. Drinks are very delicious and have a unique taste to them, highly recommend.

Yelp
Haley, Katelyn, and Alee we're all so nice and welcoming and helpful! The boba was so yummy and we will definitely be back

Yelp
Visited this boba spot three times during my trip to SD - a new staple for future visits! I really enjoyed their high quality teas and impressive selection of milk tea options! Standouts include Dark Phoenix and Snow Jasmine - both were perfect at 50% sweetness (this is the level they use for their samples). The Formoosa Summer and Mango Sticky Rice were also really good if you're looking for fruity/refreshing options. Bonus points for their free samples, stamp card/loyalty program, ample seating area with tables and extended/late operating hours!

Yelp
Best boba tea I've ever had. I love that the tea is actually brewed & not from powder. I got the Duck Sh*t, and it is the sh*t! So good! I order 50% sweet w/ honey boba, and it's still potentially a little too sweet for me, but to each their own & I imagine it varies by who is making it. Either way, it's my new go-to for boba! Staff is nice & quick & the shop is a cute little hangout that's clean & chic.

Yelp
Stepping into Yun Tea House is like entering a world of calm, with every detail inviting you to savor a moment of tranquility. I ordered the Monkey King milk tea, and it was a journey in itself. Imagine Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, crafting a tea that mirrors his story. That's exactly the experience you get with this drink. The Golden Monkey Tea they use as a base has rich cocoa notes, a subtle fruitiness, and a hint of spice that creates a unique, velvety milk tea. The flavors unfold layer by layer, like a masterfully told tale, blending strength and smoothness in a way that captures the Monkey King's bold spirit. At Yun, tea is treated with a level of respect and care that elevates it to an art form. From the precise brewing temperatures to the distinctive cheese foam that crowns each drink, every detail is crafted to perfection. It's clear they view tea as more than just a beverage--it's a story, an experience, and a journey. For anyone who loves tea, Yun is an absolute must. And if you're in the mood for a taste of adventure, try the Monkey King. With every sip, you'll feel a bit of the legendary Sun Wukong's energy, as if you're sharing in his journey to the West, all while savoring the comfort of tea crafted to perfection.

Yelp
Jess was very helpful with the free samples/suggestions on what to get as my first time here. Hojicha was just what I wanted. Can't wait to try more flavors next time Thank you

Yelp
100/100 tea spot!! They have high quality tasty tea and they let you sample!! All were good - we couldn't decide. Duck sh*t would be my favorite though. The line is long but it's worth it! decor is cute inside too

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this place last time I was down in San Diego. They have a bunch of delicious tea and I had a hard time deciding which one to try. The cashier was really nice and recommended me some options and his favorite too base of what I normally like. I absolutely loved the Genmaicha milk tea. It's really hard to find places that can get this right because the roasted rice taste is VERY easily diluted if you don't use enough tea or too much water is added. They absolutely got the roasted rice taste down. It was very fragrant and strong. Their boba was also super chewy and not super sweet. I can't wait to come back down to try their other drinks!
google avatar

Yelp
Yun has the best tea hands down. Intense and flavorful. Not masked by milk and sugar. Well balanced. Jess was our server today and many other days we came. She's always friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
My favorite drink here is the Emperor's Red Robe. The oolong milk tea has such a rich and unique flavor. It also had a floral taste. I like this drink with 50% sugar and boba. Katelyn was very cheerful, and let me sample the milk teas before I made my final selection. The samples are already at 50% sugar, which helped me to easily decide on the sugar level. Haley and Alee prepared the drinks very quickly, and constantly kept the flow of customers moving. This tea house is beautifully decorated with cotton clouds hanging from above. A lot of people had their laptops out even on a weeknight, so it's a great place to get some work done. I would definitely return here the next time that I'm craving milk tea!

Yelp
This is one the best quality tea you can find in San Diego. They have duck sh*t oolong which has a big reputation in the tea community for being high quality. I ordered the genmaicha because I am very caffeine sensitive and genmaicha has a lot less caffeine. Genmaicha is not super common, but I've had it many times at other establishments. Let me say that the genmaicha at Yun Tea is the best genmaicha I've ever had. Normally the genmaicha at other places is only okay so I feel like I'm settling for a mediocre drink because I want something low in caffeine. But the genmaicha at Yun Tea was so different and better, I don't know how to describe it. I think it was smoother compared to other genmaichas which have a subtle strange aftertaste. The genmaicha is one of their recommended drinks, and for good reason. I came in the afternoon on a Friday, and there were a good amount of people in the cafe which shows you how popular the place is.

Yelp
The sign of a good tea house is when you walk in you can actually smell the fresh tea brewing. I felt nostalgic, comforted, and even excited to try their milk teas. With a variety of sugar options and add-ons for (0.65 which is not bad) I found Yun Tea House to be top tier in San Diego. Another sign of a good milk tea spot is how crowded the place gets. I can tell you now there was not a table open and people were lined up waiting for their drinks on a Friday afternoon. What Yun gets right is the flavor mix, the unique seasonal flavors like peach tea and the made to order freshness of their drinks. I got the Jasmine snow because I wanted to follow yelpers and I can honestly tell you it was perfect. The store overall feel of the store is inviting, colorful and decorated in a modern fashion. Lots of people, and I mean lots, come to study and work. Oh don't worry I started my stamp card and I am already planning my next visit.

Yelp
I made a trip to five different boba shops on Convoy to rank their "boba milk tea". I tried to get the closest to black tea if they had more than one option. I chose 100% sweetness and no ice (to eliminate dilution). Here are my ratings: 1 Camellia: boba milk tea, regular milk 2 Chakaa: ruby milk tea w brown sugar boba, regular milk 3 Tan-Cha: celon milk tea w caramel boba, non-dairy milk 4 Yun Tea House: Monkey King w boba, lactose-free house milk 5 Dayung: boba milk tea, non-dairy creamer Caveats: I think Dayung made a mistake on the order because it had some ice in the drink when I picked it up. When I tasted it at home, it tasted watered down and completely bland, like there was no sugar. So I think instead of 100% sugar and 0% ice, they gave me 0% sugar and 100% ice. I also heard Dayung is better known for their fruit teas anyway. In terms of the actual boba balls, Yun ranked #3. The boba was a good chewiness but way too sweet. It was so sweet that the drink was too sticky and the straw did not move easily inside the cup. The parking here also sucked. The parking lot is so small that you have to drive very slowly and be very careful to stay within the lines. Yun is at the corner, literally next door to Chakaa. The line was ridiculous. I arrived and had to wait on the right side of the entrance. I wanted to wait in line to sample their drinks, but the wait was getting too long. I ended up placing an order online and got my drink before the person in front of me even got to the register. Good thing for online ordering. A lot of people were studying in here. There are a lot of tables and seats.

Yelp
Flavors significantly different from all the other boba places in the area in a very good way. The milk tea here definitely is much more tea forward without leaving the appeal of a milk tea. You get a good amount of tannins left on your tongue after each sip like you would expect from drinking an actual tea. I would (and have ) come back. $6 drinks. Definitely a standout milk tea spot and not "just another boba place". Both the dark Phoenix and duck shit are good.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a weekday morning to study, and it was a really good experience! Drinks are so yummy, and the workers, especially Jess who took our order, was really nice too! The store itself is really cute and clean, and there are outlets at most of the tables. I recommend coming closer to opening if you need to secure one of these spots! This store is definitely worth a visit, and I will be back to try their food sometime! :)

Yelp
Really trendy, newer spot on Convoy for boba! I have been here a handful of times and really like the drinks and vibes. They have a nice mix of typical milk teas and fun, blended drinks. My personal favorite is the Mango Sticky Rice drink, which is totally different to any drink I've had before. I've found their drinks to be pretty sweet so I typically go 50% sweetness and it's perfect for me. It has a great ambiance and is usually full of people working or studying. They also have a great rewards program where if you buy 9 drinks you get 1 free - All the more reason to keep coming back ;) Parking is typically easy in the parking lot and staff is super nice. Jessica at the front was especially friendly! Will be back to continue working down the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Was recommended this spot by a fellow Yelp elite so I knew I had to stop by! I love that they focus on traditional milk tea and really enhance the flavors that the tea naturally has, I ordered the emperors red robe and it was soo sweet and creamy as described, I usually order my drinks at half sweet but I wanted to try the original to get the full flavor profile for my first time and I'm glad that I did! There is a big parking lot and other boba spots in the area but Yun was still lively with plenty of other people sitting and doing work, will definitely be back as the mango sticky rice drink really caught my eye
google avatar

Yelp
Unique flavors + strong tea ! More creamy than your typical milk tea but dairy free. Long lines but lots of seating and outlets for studying. They also have some board/card games to play (and encourage you to bring your own). Biggest plus is THEY GIVE SAMPLES!!! This is the first boba place I've been to that has given samples. Served by Hanna, Katelyn, and Haley :) theyre working hard for their customers!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
My very first time at Yun Tea. I was drawn in by the long line and curiosity of the illuminated clouds descending from the ceiling! Such a cool ambiance for a tea shop. Michelle Jet Yiwei was my server. She was super cool and inviting. She helped me pick out my tea. If you're looking for a meal drink? mango sticky rice is your choice. I can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved that there are milk tea samples before committing to a drink. My favorite is the mango sticky rice...YUMM!
google avatar

Yelp
Yun Tea House is such a good spot to grab a drink, lounge with friends, or to study. The environment in Yun is clean, aesthetic, and pretty spacious. Coming during peak hours may be hard to find a seat, but I usually don't have too much trouble. My favorite drink would be the mango sticky rice. Although an odd concept, it is absolutely delicious when done right! My only comment would be that there are times where the drinks feel inconsistent. The mango sticky rice drink sometimes lacks taste or the rice is on the harder side. I came here to Yun to study a few times and I would say it's a pretty solid spot. The music isn't too loud but the store itself can sometimes be on the louder side. Parking: Ample parking in the plaza but does get busy during peak hours. Little Note: You can ask the cashier for games, they have Jenga, Uno, and playing cards. Also don't forget to get a stamp card!
google avatar

Roger P.

Yelp
Yun Tea House replaces Hui Lau Shan in an already packed plaza. And although there's already a boba shop in the plaza, Yun Tea has no trouble standing out amongst the competition. This place quickly became one of my favorite boba shops in San Diego because of their tea-forward drinks. Yun is almost always busy, with many people coming after lunch/dinner or taking a table in the back to study or do work. The staff is pretty efficient though and I haven't really noticed any unusually long wait times. You can also request samples of their milk tea drinks and this is so useful when they add new things to the menu. And like any other boba shop, if you're not satisfied with your drink, they're more than willing to remake and/or adjust sugar levels. During this visit, Alee, Alice and Jet took our orders and made our drinks with no issues. My go-to orders have been either the Iron Goddess or the Formoosa Summer. I've tried the Mango Sticky Rice, Duck Shit, Yun Roast, and Snow Jasmine and liked all of them but nothing beats my go-tos. The Iron Goddess has a great floral, tea flavor and I only get this if I need a caffeine boost. If I'm worried about caffeine, then I switch to the Formoosa Summer, which is a play on the classic Taiwanese watermelon milk drinks. I know it sounds weird but it's the perfect drink if you need something refreshing! For some reason, this drink is extremely sweet so I'd recommend 50-75% sugar levels. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card when you order. You get every 10th drink free so you can bet I'm collecting stamps as much as possible!
google avatar

Katy Q.

Yelp
Literally my heaven on earth. There's even clouds. This isn't your basic boba place (there's one of those across the street if you're looking) but their drinks have actual layers and flavors to answer your milk tea prayers.
google avatar

Arleen A.

Yelp
I ordered the Monkey King tea, and it had the perfect balance of sweetness and tea flavor, I really enjoyed it. However, I was disappointed to find that there was no ice in my drink, it seemed to have melted right away, which made my milk tea less refreshing. I expect ice in my drinks to keep them cold. Overall, the Monkey King tea was tasty, but it would have been even better if it stayed cold.
google avatar

Joey W.

Yelp
Heard about this boba spot so decided to try it! It was my first time and Jess helped me pick the drinks as I was in between a few. Dark Phoenix - the oolong was strong. I appreciate how their teas are creamy but the tea still comes through. Duck Shit - the oolong was more floral and on the sweeter side. It was creamy and would recommend!
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
The tea is delicious! Most places does a good milk but not good tea. This place has a good milk tea. I got the duck shit and it has a good tea aftertaste. The cashierFreddie was friendly and nice. We got the top 5 as a sample and the cashier was so accommodating. The place is nicely decorated. Look for the fat animals in the display line!
google avatar

Winny K.

Yelp
Didn't get a chance to try any food but the food menu looked really tempting! I was too full from dinner, so just ordered a milk tea. The drink menu also has plenty of delicious looking options, so I picked one of the "popular" ones. The Dark Phoenix Milk Tea turned out to be super delicious, and I can see why it's a popular choice! The tea flavor was fragrant, strong, and silky, and probably one of the best versions I've ever tried for this flavor profile of milk tea. The boba had very nice texture and flavor as well, and was the most generous portion of boba I've ever seen! From the photo, you can see that it took up so much of the tall boba cup, lol. By the end of the drink, I definitely had a lot of boba left to chew on, but I didn't mind at all. Thanks for the generosity, Yun Tea! Service was friendly and the decor at Yun Tea is super cute as well.
google avatar

George W.

Yelp
This is a cute tea shop that looks like its owned by the formoosa folk. The decorations are very cute. The service is great, they are fast and quick at taking orders and pumping out drinks. We got the dark phoenix and it was good at 50% sweetness. Shout out to Jessica and Jet!
google avatar

Ginger P.

Yelp
I really like the unique variety of teas at Yun Tea House, and appreciate that they seem to rotate tea types every now and then so we can try something completely new. My husband had the emperor's red robe today (unsweetened, no creamer) and I had the fruit caravan. The emperor's red robe is a very strong tea. He liked it, I would personally pass on it. I thought the drink he got last time (Monkey King) was better. I had the fruit caravan! I asked the tea barista if it was sweet, and he said it was about a 25-50% sugar level, so I took a chance (not liking too sweet drinks) and it was the perfect sugar level for me! I also loved that the tea wasn't too bitter even with all the citrus rinds in it. The fruit infusion really adds to the flavor of the tea and you can fish out the watermelon and apple afterwards. It's so fragrant and floral and good. This drink will be my go-to here from now on!
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite boba shop in San Diego and I am so glad they opened. For people who are into the tea flavor of milk teas, this is your place. I love that they have so many options for oolong milk teas that you don't even know what to pick because they're all delicious. I love that they offer you 5 free samples of the top 5 drinks they have so you know what you're feeling and can get a small glimpse of what you'd be getting yourself into before committing. The tapioca balls are also so soft and squishy and a must-have. It's also in Convoy which is such a great location for boba and all kinds of yummy Asian eats. I've only been here once unfortunately but I need to come back asap!! This is truly a not-so-hidden-anymore San Diego gem anymore since everyone is finding out about this place but everyone needs to know about this place so tell yo mama tell yo friends (or if you don't and wanna keep it all to yourself that's ok too since the lines are already long enough hehe)
google avatar

Charlene C.

Yelp
Pretty bumping at this place on a Wednesday night at 10:30PM. LOTS of very different oolong teas makes it an interesting tea house. Not your typical boba shop with black milk tea or Thai tea. Super friendly staff. The server Michelle and barista Jessica are fantastic! Would recommend checking it out :)
google avatar

Ashlee T.

Yelp
The drinks here are so good. We got duck shit and Emperor's red robe and both were really good. You can really taste the tea flavors and it's a good ratio. I would recommend to get 75% or 50% if you don't like your drinks too sweet. I got 100% but I have a sweet tooth. The place is really cute to chill, or even work/study here. The service was great! We were helped by Jessica, Haley, and Kimberly.

Yelp
This spot replaced a previous dessert spot so we decided to try it out! Service was quick and drinks are all one size. Lots of younger people hanging out and music playing. Not a place you come to if you need a quiet spot. The layout is nice and open with simple designs. You'll find that the menu drinks are very unique and comical. They also have a small snack menu as well if you need something to snack on. I ordered the Peachy Princess with aiyu jelly and grass jelly and surprisingly, I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of a candy I ate as a child, so nostalgic. The Dark Phoenix tasted fresh and was also enjoyable. Great place to check out with friends!

Yelp
If you're reading this review you probably already know there are a ton of boba shops around this area, so what's another one?! Well this spot has a lot of really unique flavors that separate themselves from the others. Just take a look at their menu! I can't wait to come back to try more but so far I've had: Milk Tea Soft serve (discontinued ;-; ) I hope they bring this back because it was so good! It basically was a yun roast flavored soft serve. Mango sticky rice: it's literally what it sounds like but as a drink and yes there's sticky rice in there ! I get 50% sweet and think it's a perfect amount of mango sweetness Yun Roast tea with boba: another new go-to drink I'm gonna crave often! It has a great balance of sweetness, roasted and nutty flavors! The boba is also the perfect texture. The staff is super friendly and attentive as well, especially Jessica who served us today! We also enjoy all the cute Japanese decor and kpop playlists while waiting for our drinks.

Yelp
Am visiting from out of town and I always struggle with finding a good boba place in a new area. But this place appeared when I searched on Google maps, 1k+ reviews and rated highly. Was not disappointed! The cashier (I think her name's Alexis?) was super patient and helpful when I was figuring out my order. I told her I wanted to get one for now and one for later (if you're not doing it like this, why lol) and she said they could shake with ice and strain the ice out. Perfect. She then let me sample different teas at 50% sweetness, loved that. I didn't know I could sample, she offered. A+ customer service. Alee, Alexis, and Freddie were working the shift when my bf and I stopped by. We stopped by around 740p on a Monday night and it was *crowded*. We managed to get parking in the plaza really easily, but this place was busy. There's actually so much seating inside, like you'd expect this of a restaurant lol, and all the seats were basically taken. When you walk in, you're hit by the pleasant aroma of tea. That's how we knew this place was gonna be good. Decor is also nice and super cute! I love that I can still taste the tea in the drinks. The limited toppings options also make it really easy to decide. Alexis was upfront about the sweetness, which helped with ordering. If you don't like stuff that's too sweet, get 50% or 75% sweet. I got duck sht with grass jelly 75% sweet and yun roast with sticky rice 75% sweet. I really liked them both! Highly recommend

Yelp
I guess I just wasn't that impressed. Just average. Not sure if return again. Got the Formoosa summer and it just didn't have much flavor as well as salt and strawberry. The boba however was pretty good. Service also was ok. Just the drink it self seemed to lack flavor for me.
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
Loved that you can get a free sample of their teas to decide which flavor you prefer. The drink size is all one size. Ended up ordering the dark phoenix and yun roast. Dark phoenix had a stronger flavor of oolong tea and the boba was chewy. Yun roast was more light in flavor which I preferred. The sugar level at 50% in my opinion is still pretty sweet so I opted for 25% and it was just fine. Seems like a place for studying or hanging out with friends. There is another tea house located next door but didn't see that many people waiting in line. Funny how there's tea houses in the same plaza and right next door. Competition.

Taylor T.

Yelp
Some awesome tea options you don't find at most boba spots like hojicha, though I am sad to see that the lapsang souchong Dragon's Breath is no longer on the menu. Samples are offered if these flavors are new to you, so you're sure to make the right choice. Jet was super helpful. They've got a stamp card to keep you coming back for more and I'm hooked! They've got a few tasty sounding food options that I'm excited to try too.
google avatar

Connie P.

Yelp
Yun replaced Hui Lau Shan but it's okay because at least the tea is good! Some compare their teas to Orobae, I'd say it's pretty close! Their dark phoenix is reminiscent of the Rising Phoenix from Orobae but I got the Emperor's Red Robe for a more fragrant tea taste. They allow you to sample the milk teas if you're unsure of which tea you'd want which is not very common for boba shops and I appreciate! They brew their tea similar to Chichasanchen, it's more like a tea-sspreso vs a batch of already brew tea that can be easily assembled. Price is what you'd expect for a boba in this economy, $7 for a drink .... inflation is rough out there. The baristas for today were Michelle and Alee and they were very helpful! Parking is a bit terrible, this shares the lot with other restaurants like Shan Xi Magic Kitchen, Olleh, bbq chicken, so expect there to be little to no spots dinner time and onward.

Yelp
4 stars This tea spot took over the previous Hui Lau Shan dessert shop, which I was sad about. I see why this place has so many reviews in such a short amount of time. They offer 4 drink stamps for 1 review that go toward a drink. Unfair if you ask me. Also why I docked half a star. If you're curious, no I won't be claiming those extra stamps by showing them this review. I will say, their hojicha is on point. Toasty and nutty. Picked up 2 yun roasts that were also solid pick. The duck sh*t is a pleasant surprise. I'm not typically an oolong milk tea fan but this oolong variety used has a floral aroma which made the experience quite enjoyable. They used powdered non dairy creamer which is disappointing as I would've prefer fresh dairy and non dairy offers. The shop updated the interior and it has a lot of people drink and work. Quite busy as well.

Yelp
With the number of boba shops in the area, its hard to find one that stands out. There are so many gimmicky things like bottle shapes, decorations, weird flavors, etc that places like to play around with but Yun Tea House blows all of them out of the water! It absolutely lives up to the name "tea house" because they actually brew their tea with high quality tea leaves. You can definitely taste the difference because they don't hide behind sugar & syrups to add flavor. This is also the only boba shop I've been to that lets you sample all their teas, which I found to be super helpful. Although they give pretty good descriptions of the tasting profiles, its a little hard for me to picture flavor notes especially when its a more nuanced flavor of the leaves and not just in your face fruit or chocolate or caramel. Shoutout to my bobaristas Jacob & Michael for letting me try as many as I wanted haha. I ended up getting the Duck Sh*t tea, which was really unique and delicious! I would definitely come back and rotate my way through all the teas (just like at my favorite ice cream shop). I enjoyed all the ones I sampled and will definitely get the other ones next time.

Yelp
Our drinks were fresh, high quality, and so nuanced in tea selections. Michael, our barista, was a very nice guy who helped with the recommendations.

Yelp
Been hearing good things about this tea spot by multiple friends so I decided to check it out. I got one of their top 5 drinks. Iron goddess. The tea flavor was strong and not artificial. It had a hint of floral. I got 75% sweetness but personally thought it was a little too sweet. Going to try 50% next time.

Yelp
Yun Tea House is a modern elevated tea shop located in Convoy. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Be prepared for lines and wait times as this spot is popular! Wifey and I stopped by on a weekend night and waited in line for about 40 minutes to get our drinks. Inside, they have about 5-6 tables for seating. They have a refined menu of non dairy milk teas. We got the Dark Phoenix and the Iron Goddess and could taste the quality of brew in both drinks. Both drinks have a sophisticated flavor profile with deep earthy and floral notes. Overall, this spot definitely lives up to the hype and more! The staff here are very welcoming and accommodating. Be sure to ask to try some samples as well to see which brew matches your palette. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

Yelp
Yun Tea House has high quality teas. Strong teas are hard to come across for me, but Yun Tea House hits the mark. I like their selection. Every item seems appetizing. It's really hard to decide what to get. I'd want to try the whole menu. The shop's ambiance is chill. It is a nice place to use your laptop to study or work on a weekday. Parking outside is a bit difficult especially around busy times. The parking at that mall is full a lot of the time. The teas are quality but I'm docking one star because of the service. The service is okay, but the last time I came, I got my food after 45 minutes. I ordered a snack of chili wontons. They were cold when I started eating them. I think my item got prepared already but they forgot to call me up. It wasn't as appetizing since it had been sitting out.

Yelp
Major shoutout to Michael for the wonderful service. Despite it being a relatively busy day, Michael was meticulous and thorough at getting all the drinks made and out to customers. Drink was on point once again, showing a consistency of up-kept quality. Store is clean and everything is so well looked after. Yun climbing to the top of my list of go-to boba places!

Yelp
My husband got me the zzzz tea yesterday (rooibos) and it was so good! Today (Sunday) we arrived at 11:25 and Michelle and Ali took our order and helped us. I ordered a watermelon smoothie this time (good memories of ordering that in Taiwan). The inside of the store is pretty big, lots of tables, and very easy to order menu. Service was great & realy like this authentic Taiwanese drink place! Can't wait to try their food next time

Yelp
This is a nice tucked away hidden gem for the San Diego boba community. It's nestled amongst several great boba shops, so the competition is certainly high. The first thing we noticed was how busy it was at 4pm on a weekday. The locals must really like this place. The ambience is fun and energetic, mostly filled with the younger crowd. The selections of drinks aren't your typical that you'd find at a boba shop, there's no brown sugar milk teas or regular black teas, which can limit the amount of people who may be interested, but we enjoyed trying something new. We tried the Yun Roast tea, which is an oolong milk tea that has a slight nutty aftertaste. We never had the tea before so we didn't know what to expect. It was very milk-forward but the taste was true to its description. It kind of tasted like cereal milk in a way, which I enjoyed. It wasn't overly sweet though and tasted very fresh. The boba was a good consistency and the service was friendly and quick. I just wish the tea was more flavorful, which is why I gave a 4/5. Perhaps in my next visit this rating will change. Don't get me wrong, a 4/5 is fantastic since we have extremely high standards for boba tea. I would certainly try this place again but perhaps try another drink. I recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.
