Step into Yuzu, a funky West Town sushi haven where fresh, creatively-crafted rolls and friendly service turn every visit into a delicious adventure.
"Sushi becomes edible art at this neighborhood favorite in West Town. The jumbo maki are stuffed full of ingredients and presented on boards that have been beautifully decorated with sauces. These vibrant drawings, which feature everything from dragons to the Chicago skyline, add a fun element to the food." - Naomi Waxman
"Elaborate and colorful sushi has a tendency to get top billing at this West Town favorite, but the robust robata selection is noteworthy too. Omnivores and vegetarians will find a menu of skewered delights like squid karaage, nasu (eggplant), beef short rib, and cauliflower." - Naomi Waxman, Ashok Selvam
"This neighborhood hit in West Town is known by many for its enormous and colorful maki, but there’s also a robust robata selection. Skewer options range from yakitori to squid karaage to nasu (eggplant) with ponzu and teriyaki sauce. There are no losers here, especially when paired with a Japanese highball." - Naomi Waxman, Eater Staff
"One of Chicago’s best sushi spots also has plenty of grilled skewers which are sometimes overlooked. Yuzu has long had a bento box lunch special will gives diners several options, from sushi, to soup, to skewers. It’s a great value and a complete meal." - Ashok Selvam, Eater Staff
"You could go to Yuzu and order simple, traditional sushi, but that’s not the best way to enjoy this restaurant. Instead, come for the massive, crazily artistic rolls. A giant Dragon Roll with shrimp tempura, avocado, and unagi sounds basic - until it shows up with a preposterous dragon drawn out of food-colored spicy mayo. It’s a little ridiculous, but it looks cool, and tastes good. That’s pretty much Yuzu - not sushi worth driving across town for, but a great spot for a group hang in the neighborhood." - Adrian Kane
