"This is a family-owned hot pot spot in Pilsen, and it’s a relaxed alternative to Chicago’s big, crowded hot pot chains. YY is quiet, there’s never a wait, and the dipping sauce station is just a little cart in the back with peanut butter, garlic, chili oil, and vinegar. The menu is short and all-you-can-eat (AYCE) for $26.99. It doesn’t include any flashy ingredients, but what’s on it, like head-on shrimp and thinly sliced fatty lamb, is quality. The broths are flavorful, with your choice of up to two of either spicy marrow, original, or tomato. Plus, if you’re lucky, one of the owners will give you a nougat candy full of peanuts when you leave." - adrian kane, john ringor

I’ve been here a couple times and the hot pot is so good. I can’t handle spice so we just do the regular broth but it’s so flavorful. The meats are such a great cut. And vegetables are always fresh. There’s so much variety. I will say, customer service hasn’t been the best. BUT it didn’t not keep us from going back again. Everyone has been nice, but they missed a bunch of items or are teens on their phone at another table. Honestly, it didn’t bother me a ton, but just know going into it, you’re going for the food! The food was worth it! The first time, they missed a bunch of items on their big sheet (because it gets confusing and easy to miss with all the items on it) so I boxed them this time and none were missed! Definitely recommend this place. It’s delish!! (Ps. Don’t skip the quail eggs! They’re our favorite 😋).

First time at the restaurant, dining area was clean and spacious. We were seated and offered refreshments. Ordered the hot pot, was very intreged with the wide selection of veggies and meats. Staff was helpful but forgot a water we ordered. Took some food to go as well, very authentic with all the correct seasons.. Soup was delicious. Will defiantly revisit.

Me and my sister have been frequents of this restaurant for about 2 years and I have never felt happier with a dining experience. The service is amazing, the food is as good. We usually order hotpot and the ingredients are always fresh and the broth taste amazing every time. I highly recommend this place for a quiet dinner with friends or family. On top of the hotpot and regular menu, they are also offering Milk Tea (Boba) too. Please stop by for a wonderful meal!

I have been coming to this place for over 2 years, i never get tired of it, the staff is very friendly they are also very attentive to the customers. Something i really enjoy is the variety they have at this hot pot, they offer a range of veggies, meat, rice, and noodles. And best of all you only pay once per person and eat all you can! They also have dipping sauce to add even more flavor to the food (the food already has a great taste). And not only do they offer a hot pot but they aslo offer sea food boils and more, to drink they have a big selection of milk tea, smoothies, fruit tea, and toppings. This place is definitley worth checking out if ur in the area.

We came to this hotpot restaurant as the other hotpot restaurants are all fully booked. I must say their service is very good, they come frequently to clear the plates, top up the soup and change our plates without the need for us to ask for it. However, it did take a while for them to prepare the hotpot soup, and the induction cooker for our table seems to take forever to boil the hotpot. The food is really so so. The night we went, they have free crabs. By the way the restaurant is BYOB restaurant, they do not offer alcoholic drinks.

Google
Delicious!! We got the all you can eat. They ran out of some stuff (we stayed until close) but everything we did have was great. They even gave us free bubble tea at the end because it's a new menu item! It was perfect - not too sweet. Definitely coming back.

This is my favorite hot pot place in Chicago!! It’s a low key spot that offers hot pot AND a full Chinese restaurant menu. I have been to Haidilao and Happy Lamb but always prefer YY’s Hot Pot as there is little to no wait time. The young ladies greet and serve you immediately when you get there. The price for all you can eat is about $30 with taxes per person. You can bring your own drinks and best of all they don’t charge a fee for it like other restaurants. Since this is my favorite place, I come here at least once a week. I always get the best of both worlds broth, which is half spicy and half regular broth. Although my favorite is the spicy. There’s a cart near the back of the back of the restaurant where you can find peanut butter, soy sauce, minced garlic, red chili sauce, and another unknown to me sauce. You can make the perfect dipping sauce! Make sure to grab a clean plate from the sauce cart to put your cooked noodles or veggies in (to avoid overcooking in the broth). The service here is great. The young ladies come by and clear the table when you have empty plates and immediately bring you a menu when needed. Overall, this place is amazing! I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know!

This place was very delicious. All the meat cooks very nicely in the broth. Give them a few seconds and bam great meat. I would order some vegetables to soak in the broth, to give it flavor, but not to much, the meat is really the star of the show. They didn't have a "drink menu" so it made it difficult to know what to choose as they just pointed to the front desk and said, this is what we have. It's also BYOB, so bring something with if you want to have a nice drink as you eat. The things to watch out for is the quail egg, they aren't good and really taste over cooked and rubbery. Tofu gets soggy in the soup pretty fast, we regret not getting the fried tofu. Imitation crab meat was as expected, it's best not to have with the soup. Things to get, fatty beef, the fat melts and the meat flavor comes out. Pork was pretty good. All the thick vegetables like mushrooms. Glass noodles was also great, but don't get more than 1 eat time, otherwise it will sit to long in the soup and becomes soggy and fall apart. Also all the milk tea were excellent, just a bit pricey for a single serve.

Yelp
Crazy there's a Chinese restaurant in a Mexican neighborhood, but I guess it needs more variety around here. If wanting something else besides burritos and tacos, check out this place in Pilsen. YY Hot Pot of course has the signature dish along with other Asian classics at pretty good prices too. Also has tea including many fruit flavors. There's good options for meat eaters, and tofu is available for vegetarians. After learning about this place we came here. It's a small place but still manages to have a few tables inside. The inside has a lot of advertisements for tea. It's about $5 for a regular size. The one I got was the Super Fruit Tea. It's apparently made of healthy fruits and is supposed to be full of nutrients. Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't, but it certainly tasted good though. As for the food, we needed vegetarian choices. There were a few but only one of these came with any tofu. It's about $12 for an entree. We got an order of the Ma Po Tofu. In this recipe, there's no pork. This came with white rice, and it was full of spice. Good place in Pilsen that's not Mexican or Puerto Rican food. It's a nice change from that to be certain, because the people around here want some other places to go. There's lots of teas to choose from including boba, and the food menu features both classics and modern things.

Yelp
The service was definitely lacking. As someone who goes to a lot of hot pot places there is nothing that stands out about this one. They have a lack of sauces, and the worker that was serving us was very stand-off-ish. Besides the meat, the rest of the food was all frozen. Needed to ask for water. Overall an okay place, and good for the price but would probably choose to go somewhere else.

Tinisha B.

Yelp
The food was good but the place wasn't so great. Parking was a bit hard, couldn't find a spot for a couple blocks but there was street parking and the neighborhood was okay. Once in the place I found it to be a bit overrated online. Basically it's a small restuarant with wooden chairs and the staff didn't speak good English. Being fairly new to hotpot experiences (this was only my 3rd time) i didn't like the idea that I couldn't really communicate and ask questions as thoroughly as I would have liked but i managed. The food was affordable (26 per person, all you can eat) but I was told that I would be charged extra if i didn't finish my food. That was absolutely horrible. My daughter helped me navigate through their choices and the menu and I wound up lucking up on a decent meal but overall. I wouldn't waste my time coming here or at least check it out at your own risk.

Yelp
Love YY hot pot!!! Wonderful service and food is sooooo gooood!!!! Glad I was able to bring my brother in from Las Vegas.BYOB!!!

Yelp
Disclaimer: This is my very first Chinese Hot Pot experience so I really don't have a yard stick to compare it to. That said, we had a MIND BLOWING experience. We were so excited that we were staring at other people's plates. We noticed a plate of meat and were like man, that's a LOT OF meat but later realized it wasn't. We got the mix of the spicy broth and tomato broth. Both were outstanding. In the beginning, I wished the spicy one was spicier but as time went on, I'm glad it wasn't. It was just right. Spicy enough to get you the flavor and get the warmth in your body without burning your toungue yet mild enough for you to sip on the broth with the meat and veggies. Veggies: Other than the regular mushrooms, I thought every vegetable we had was outstanding. Probably the best was the bok choy followed by the taro root followed by the dark brown mushrooms. Meats: We tried the fatty beef (twice), fatty lamb, pork (4 plates in all and that's when we realized it really wasn't that much meat. Just beautifully and thinly sliced). I'm taking away one star only because of the initial service which was pretty slow but yet very friendly. This experience has opened up the door once again to another kind of cuisine. For $27 at eat as much as you can, I think it's a bargain.

Yelp
Solid AYCE (all you can eat) Hot Spot in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. Wouldn't have expected this to be in this area, but I do like that it's off the typical beaten path. Currently as of February 2022, the AYCE pricing is at $26.99. It went up from $22.99 recently I think assuming the rise is cost for everything. It seems to be a family-owned restaurant with likely the two daughters, the mom, and the dad all making multiple appearances throughout the dining experience. While this place doesn't not have a million options for sides, meat, etc, it does have great flavor (we got the half & half broth base consisting of the spicy option and the bone marrow one). I'm a big fan of spicy and it hit my craving for a warm spicy meal. We got our meat and sides pretty quickly, although we did notice that some options we chose on the menu, they never brought out. We never bothered to ask for them, which was probably a good idea considering how full we were at the end of the meal. The fatty lamb was delicious by the way. The quail eggs, fish ball with roe, and honey comb tripe were all delicious sides we enjoyed. Keep in mind the honey comb tripe should be cooked for at least ten minutes. I'm glad they told us otherwise it would have been of a hard/chewy consistency Anyways, service was good, and the mom was very friendly and sweet. I'm glad that we came here considering so many people talk about Happy Lamb and others in Chinatown. Remember to support local businesses y'all! Just an FYI: There is currently paid parking on 18th street with the meters, or you can find free parking on 16th street on the north side of the street (check the signs to be safe... some are permitted). Wish I had taken more photos after I actually started eater everything, but it was all too good to even think about touching my phone, lol. Will be back! PS - They are BYOB friendly!

Yelp
One of my all time favorite hotpot spot to go in Chicago. The broth is amazing. I highly recommend ordering split pot (spicy & regular) and mix the soup both together into a bowl. The meat doesn't make you feel heavy like other hotpot places. Definitely recommend trying this place out on a cold day.

Amy V.

Yelp
the meat is so delicious and the workers are so sweet. this is my favorite hotpot place and i always go here for special occasions. I honestly cannot live without it.

Lupe B.

Yelp
The food is good. The fried rice was ok. Really liked the lo mein. The service left a bad taste in my mouth. No greeting, no "thank you", very bland. Also, when I asked for a receipt & it seemed like the young ladies both didn't want to give me one for some reason. Like what's the big deal??? Then I heard a sigh like I was giving them a hard time which I wasn't. Not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
The food is immaculate and always served so fresh. I've ordered both for takeout and had their hot pot and can confidently say that the food is a 10/10. Furthermore, the service is always excellent.

Angel J.

Yelp
The best chinese take out I've had since moving here. The orange chicken was fresh with real orange rind. Not that weird goey kinda chicken you get at a lot of places. The LoMein and fried rice was equally fresh and delicious. Crab ragoons had the perfect crispiness. The portions are HUGE. Seriously leftovers for days.

Nomski K.

Yelp
Excellent hot pot! My favorite They have really tasty and spicy soup, and a number of great food options. The sauces are v good too. Overall 10/10!

Jacquelyn L.

Yelp
Amazing service! Our waiter was so friendly and really made the experience enjoyable. The food was so delicious. We ordered the spicy marrow broth and it was just the right amount of spice and flavor. I will come back here again. It was also very affordable. I feel like most hot pot restaurants I go to are about $50. We paid around $30 per person. Small place but highly recommend.

Yelp
As a huge hot pot fan, dropped by YY Hot Pot a few nights ago. YY is a new AYCE Chinese hot pot location in the Pilsen area, a little off ways from the Chinatown main drag. Interior is fairly simple but clean, and the restaurant wasn't very crowded on a weekday night, which beats having to wait in the lines at the Chinatown locations. At the moment the best option is AYCE. I think they will also do individual pots but we ordered one large hot pot AYCE. Pricing is $22.99 a person - ordering is pretty standard. They will give you a sheet with a pen and you mark down your order for three rounds. The soup bases were the typical pork bone, spicy pork, and tomato. They had a veg broth listed as well which is not very common so would be veg friendly. We got the split pork and spicy broth - the pork broth was white and very flavorful, but I definitely liked the salty spicy broth more, which came with generous red chilis. As for the entire menu, the meat options are limited now to sliced beef, lamb, luncheon meat and pork. However I was really surprised at the amount of seafood/fish options on the menu, including mini octopus which I'd never had a hot pot place. The AYCE also had 5 different types of fish paste / balls as well as the beef tendon meatballs that are in pho. There were some other off menu specials such as crayfish and blue crab which look like they are offered based on availability. Portions that came out were fair but not heaping. There is a sauce bar as well that is AYCE / self service, which I really liked versus Little Lamb that only doles out packets. They had all the usual sauce selections as well as some more options like fermented bean paste. Service was really nice and prompt. Our soup was refilled and they were really quick about bringing out our order. Even though we were there for a few hours we never felt rushed. Really excited about the new addition to the Chicago hot pot options, would recommend do friends and I'll definitely be going back.

Yelp
Don't waste your time coming here. To the business owner: hire better staff because the service I received yesterday was just very weird. My boyfriend and I walked in at about 7:30p, and there was already a family sitting on chairs near the entrance. The entire place was empty and no music AT ALL which was a red flag I should've taken. We sit down, the waitress walks away to sit a few tables across from us and is talking on the phone or video calling from her laptop saying " oh I feel sick they won't let me go home ". Literally just whining a lot knowing the room is quiet, we can hear the convo. I look at my boyfriend like " -__- no we gotta go". We get up and leave not even a minute into being seated. That was probably one of the worst / weirdest service I have ever received in my life.

Lucy B.

Yelp
It was pouring down rain all afternoon, so Husb and I avoided the dreaded grocery store and we regret nothing. As usual, ordered wayyy too much takeout (not that I minded).. Started with the BBQ Pork Egg Foo Young. This being one of my favorites, I've eaten enough of it to sink a barge. I can therefore confirm: these guys know what they're doing and they know what they're eggfooing--perfect pork, perfect texture, perfect fry, perfect gravy. Wish we'd ordered the double to have this for breakfast tomorrow. Four thumbs up. Now, as for the wontons: next time, we'll probably order the Potstickers and leave off the Rangoons. The Rangoons were okay flavor-wise, but the ratio of filling to wonton was off to me; I'd prefer them with either a thinner wonton or more filling. The Potstickers more than picked up the slack. Our dipping sauce was missing (we luckily had the ingredients to whip some up, despite not grocery shopping), but I'd still put their potstickers up against MingHin's in Chinatown any day. So good. The Singapore Rice noodles and General Tzo's Chicken were delectable. The Curry Chicken and Onions were also solid, but the gravy tasted too close to the Singapore Rice noodles. Head to head, the rice noodles win. Very happy with this place--so dangerous that it's right around the corner. We'll definitely be back for more next time we blow off Sunday shopping.

Jim L.

Yelp
I believe they are no longer open. Have been trying to go there various days from Wednesday through Friday for about five weeks now around 1 pm and always closed. Called them about eight times and the voice mail is always full - no answer.

Isla L.

Yelp
Hot pot is AMAZING! We always get the spicy broth. All you can eat for a great price. They have good chili oil and peanut sauce. Owner is so sweet.

Kay Y.

Yelp
The lunch specials here are exactly what I am looking for with Chinese takeout that I can't find anywhere else. Cheap and delicious. I tried the Mongolian beef this first time but I definitely plan to come back a lot. Around $9 for fried rice, dish, egg roll, and soda. You can order ahead of time and pay when you go to pick it up.

Mallory J.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing!!! Service is so nice and kind. I've been going here religiously for a year and a half on my school breaks and summer vacations. Food quality is amazing, and the soup bases are always so rich and flavorful. The ambiance of the restaurant is so warm and welcoming! It's family run and so sweet, we have become close with the owner and she has nothing but love to give!! Please give this place a chance, an amazing experience no one should ever miss out on!!!

Dinora D.

Yelp
I was surprised this place was so tasty. However, if you're looking for a greasy Chinese food place, this might not be the one for you. The Mongolian beef sauce was delicious and not heavy. Surprisingly felt like a healthy option. The fried rice has very good flavor, and missing the "fried" taste....which is a positive thing for me. The Kung Pao Chicken was ok. It was missing something for me. Tasted a little bland, but again, not heavy and greasy like most places. The egg rolls were a little thick for my liking, and tasted very "bready", but the filling was great! Will I order from here again, absolutely!

Aletheia G.

Yelp
Quiet little place tucked in a corner. Ordered the half spicy half regular pot and really liked the spicy broth better. With this place being a smaller non chain restaurant, options were kind of limited. Service was a little slow but they were super nice! The lady even handed out some free drinks they had made for photographs. We will be back next time!

Emily W.

Yelp
This place was great for hot pot - as good as or better than the ones in Chinatown. The all you can eat came out to just under $30 (including tax + tip). The seafood options were really great - definitely get the crab and the fish paste/balls. I've never spent the max time at an all you can eat place... until now. BYOB! They seem to be not super organized and able to handle the increased demand of their restaurant, so you may expect them to forget some items... as with many Chinese restaurants, you may have to be outspoken to the servers to get what you need.

Kate A.

Yelp
YY Hot Pot's all-you-can-eat came through on a cold day. I don't think they do anything besides AYCE, because I didn't see individual prices on the menu but that was OK with us. Plus this place is BYOB with no corkage fee. For broth: we did half regular, half spicy. It was really difficult to determine a favorite. They were both SO flavorful. For protein: we got lamb, pork, beef, and octopus. I wasn't a huge fan of the beef because it is a very fatty cut, but the bf liked it just fine. The lamb was our favorite. For sauces, they had the usual suspects - vinegar, hoisin, peanut, soy, etc. For veggies: we got bok choy, mushrooms, potato, cilantro, and cabbage. All were fresh and the portion sizes were pretty generous. Service: It appears to be a family-owned place and while everyone was super nice, our service was a bit strange. At one point, everyone who worked there sat down to eat together in the dining room which left us in an awkward position when we needed some additional items - we didn't want to interrupt their dinner! I'm sure that's not the norm and hey, it's great to see they love the food too. We will definitely be back!

Grethel H.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The broth is much more flavorful than Little Lamb imo and there is no wait time here as it's fairly new and not in China Town (which, fine by me bc I love Pilsen). The AYCE for 22.99 is a great deal and I'd recommend doing that if you're going with a group - or even just one other person. Also BYOB! My favorite part of the whole experience was the attentiveness of the family who works there. The owner (?) was very nice and told us how long each item needed to be kept in the broth for (lamb & beef only needs 8 seconds, mini octopus in there for 30 secs) and that made the food taste that much better. Never have gotten this level of service at the hot pot places in China town. Overall it's delicious food and a great place to go with a group of friends. Highly recommend!

Joseph S.

Yelp
Not a lot of people here since it's kinda new but this spot hit every spot for me. The service was attentive, the meats and veggies came out quick, the ingredients seemed fresh and the broth was really tasty. I got the beef, Lamb, pork, all the different kinds of balls, the rice cakes, the mushrooms, and man they do an amazing job with the service. I will say they seem like they're a couple run store so the service might slow down during busy hours but the food was fantastic. The broth was exactly what I wanted and the servings were great. And when we were done, they said we should eat more! They're so sweet. Plus the sauce making station is my favorite part. The only thing they're missing for me is a sweet sauce but if you need a sauce rec, trust me on this: 1 spoon: Peanut butter, Sesame paste, cilantro, garlic, vinegar, chili oil, Sacha paste 2 spoons: Soy sauce. The fermented bean curd is alright too but that above is all i needed and it is GREAT. Good luck and enjoy!

Cassidy W.

Yelp
This place was delicious! We stumbled upon it this evening (9:30pm on a Wednesday, so def not crowded), and the service was very attentive! The food, whew, it was delicious. The pork made me swoon. The beef was great. The rice cakes were some of the best I've had in years. I've had some pretty solid hot pot across the country, and this ticked off all of my boxes (and is quickly in my top 3, if not top 2 I've ever had)! They have a great little sauce station where you can make your own sauces (which I prefer to them bringing you sauce), and even though we only drank water, we were offered tea as well. It's a super clean place, with nice decor and music. I'd say they are great for dates or groups of friends, but unless you have a kiddo that understands hot pot, you might want to be careful bringing them (since the pot is big, and, well, hot). Overall, wonderful spot, and we will definitely come back!

Sandra L.

Yelp
Avoid this place, at all cost. What a shame! Happy Lamp was packed so we came here, decent reviews. Saturday, only one other table. The food wasn't the problem as much as the awful service we received. We had to ask for EVERYTHING, water, the second round of items, which by the way, we didn't received. The two "servers" were sitting down the entire time, only got up to answer phone. At one point a third table is seated and after some time they leave. Nobody came to take their order . UNBELIEVABLE. It's truly a shame. I won't be back and I'm telling you, avoid this place.

Alex A.

Yelp
I came in here because the power went out and i couldn't microwave some ramen like i had planned, so i figured I would stop in here since I hadn't despite living in Pilsen for over a year. I'm so glad i did!! I got the Mooshu vegetable and it was PHENOMENAL! The crab rangoons and mango smoothie were also to die for!! The wait staff were really friendly and chill. the vibe is very casual which is nice because it makes you feel right at home. The inside isn't too flashy but they more than make up for it with the food, and I appreciate that it isn't too expensive. I'm definitely coming here again to try their all you can eat hot pot for 26.99

Steven J.

Yelp
Great food and experience! The variety of food options for the hot pot was amazing as well!

Vanida L.

Yelp
Went for AYCE hotpot with two friends and got the tomato broth and bone broth. The broths were okay but the ingredients and service were disappointing :( I asked if there were sauces and the server pulled out sauces from the fridge and didn't say anything. Took me a while to realize it's self serve. Wish they just said something because we were the only customers in the restaurant. Ordered tong ho three times and never got it. The tofu had a dark yellow tint and tasted like freezer burn. Absolutely DO NOT get the fish ball with roe, taro, or lotus root. Overall the quality of everything was lacking. Honestly, if this place charged $16-20 for AYCE I wouldn't mind the quality. But for ~$38 after 15% tip I would drive the 5 minutes to Chinatown for Qiao Lin, Happy Lamb, or Lao Jiu Men where the quality/variety is much better and I would pay the same amount or less. Seems like the positive reviews are for the takeout and not the hot pot. Hate to leave a bad review for a small family owned business. If you go, go for the takeout.

Hands down best place ever! I love coming here and I tell everybody about it 10/10 my favorite place to eat

Yelp
Alright, I been to hot pot places all around the U.S. for years but this one taking all things into consideration is the worst. It is too expensive ($33 per person after tip) for the quality (most of the foods even the vegetables taste frozen and off). The meats are shaved so thin they'll literally fall apart in the hot pot (mostly the beef). Go to QiaoLin hotpot you'll pay equal to or less for much better quality.

Yelp
Quick service and super friendly staff! I loved the beef and mushrooms! We will definitely be back here, thank you for an awesome experience!

Yelp
It's all you can eat hot pot. There are not many options but definitely quite enough for most people. They have chicken lamp beef and fish fillets and shrimps. Love fish fillets , it tasted great when it's freshly boiled either in the spicy or original broth. Me and my friend spent around 32-35 dollars and given the quality of foods, the money was well spent. One suggestion though, they might want to increase the choices of dipping sauces.

Yelp
Give this place your business. The sit-down hot pot cannot be beat--but they have adjusted their menu to include single-serving classic American-Chinese dishes which are fairly priced and also amazing. There's also a tiny grocery section near the exit. Of course due to covid, folks are rightfully wary of having hot pot which includes having your soup pot cooking out in the open. I felt fine about it because me and my husband were the only ones in there, all of the few staff were masked and were sure to respectfully distance, but... Might be scarier if they were packed like how it used to be in the evenings pre-pandemic. The ingredients are always of superior freshness, the standard and spicy broths are to die for, and I have always gotten MEGA ULTRA full whenever I go for hot pot here cuz it's just THAT good. Me and my husband get the split pot--he likes the super spicy broth and I get the regular--and we put in different ingredient ratios to our taste. They also have sauces in the back--I like the sesame and red pepper sauces to add a little oomph to my bowl. It is DAMN DELICIOUS. I have also ordered their smaller dishes like Mongolian beef and beef rice noodles for delivery and those were top notch. They have raised their prices which makes sense after having been closed for some time last year, but it's still more than worth it. Please support this unique small shop in the neighborhood! I was so scared they might close down when they had to shut down and retool for the pandemic--but it seems like they are still running and making super delicious foods. Order some take-out and stay safe, or get yourself a table for hot pot if you feel comfortable--you won't regret it.

Yelp
Rounded up from 3.5*. Quite surprised to find a hotpot place in Pilsen, and even more surprised to find it pretty decent. The soup bases were very flavorful, although beware the spicy one, it can get spicier as the night progresses! We ordered an assortment of meats, veggies and fish balls. Everything tasted pretty fresh. My only complaint was they didn't tell us items we ordered were not available. Only when we asked did they say oh we don't have it. Other than that, the servers were friendly enough, and kept our hotspots and tea mugs full. Really like the range of dipping sauces they have, but wished it was more spread out so more than one person can get to them at the same time.

Yelp
My partner and I have consistently been getting food here for the past couple years and are always pleased. But the standout lately has been their new addition of boba tea. Particularly the iced brown sugar milk tea. So so good. The staff is also super friendly and the prices always fair. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Love when a hot pot spot offers BYOB and a sauce station. They have hot pot and a separate menu of dishes, entrees, and appetizers. I was able to get a order of crab Rangoon (6) for a reasonable price. My only suggestion is that they get tongs in addition to the strainer ladle and solid ladle they offer you to get your food out of the hot pot. Besides that the food was good. Slightly smaller selection from some of the other hot pot places in Chinatown but it has enough staples to make it worth it. I would definitely come back to this one!

Yelp
We visited this spot recently since we were in the area. For a reasonable price, we did the 1/2 and 1/2 AYCE option. The tomato and vegetarian broths were good. The kids in the restaurant were eager to service the tables, in a really cool vibes that clearly shows this place is family owned. They did well although we were a little nervous that they'd mix up the order and questions we had. The only reason I cant go with 5 stars is that there was no chicken on the menu. It feels like that's pretty standard. Anyway, worth a visit if you're in the are.

Yelp
Absolutely the best HOT POT we have had in Chicago! The owner and waitress were extremely kind! It is also BYOB. Highly recommend the Fried Buns, they were phenomenal!

Yelp
Great quality and service! We got two orders of orange chicken and got free crab Rangoon with the promotion for their grand opening. Delicious orange chicken with real orange peels and broccoli, and fantastic sweet and sour sauce to go with the crab Rangoon. High quality at a good price!

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. Some friends and I care in and got the spicy marrow broth with various waves of veg and meats which were all delicious and super fresh. Thick cut noodles and quail eggs were top notch, and they were testing out a crawfish plate special that I really hope makes it into the regular menu because it was MAGIC. Everything was super flavorful and delicious and the folks working were very attentive and friendly. Couldn't be happier with this addition to the neighborhood. Also, as a bonus, it's BYOB, which I didn't realize until we left, but will definitely take advantage of next time. And there WILL be a next time.

Yelp
First time here recently and I absolutely loved it. It is a small, family run business and there was NO WAIT TIME. All of the staff was super friendly and overall very attentive. We got the original and tomato broth which was very good. We did two rounds of meats and veggies, some noodles and their fried buns with condensed milk for dessert. We left with happy bellies. The food items isn't as extensive as other AYCE hotpot places but it was enough for us. The sauce station/cart is located at the end of the restaurant in the middle of the service counter. It was $23 per person for AYCE. I like the location because they open late, till 11:30 pm and its not traffic area.

Yelp
On cold winter days, hotpot is such a good way to warm up, and YY Potpot's AYCE means you're guaranteed to leave plenty full! A modest sized restaurant oddly sandwiched among Mexican restaurants in Pilsen, but food and service is authentically Chinese. Up to 3 rounds of various meats, veggies and carbs can be checked off an extensive menu. The raw ingredients are brought to your table to cook in the broth selected, regular or spicy marrow or half/half. All ingredients were very fresh. Broth seems more for cooking and not as enjoyable for drinking. Don't forget to go the communal sauces cart to mix your own dipping sauce. While servers are friendly, they seem to have trouble keeping track of tables. After paying for our meal, one of the girls came over with a bowl of rice apologizing for forgetting it earlier (intended for another table). Alas, they did forget a bunch of other things that we didn't bother reminding after eating so much. Since I prioritize drinking the broth high in hot pot, this isn't my first choice, but if that is less important to you, you'll beat the crowds and get a lot for your money at YY Hotpot.

Yelp
Such a cute little place!! I wanted to find another hot pot place because I've already been to lamb a few times. YY was relatively new but honestly they do a great job! The place is a nice size, clean and wasn't crowded. The broth was AMAZING. Warmed my soul honestly. I got the best of both worlds and it was FABULOUS. The owners were attentive and made sure I was comfortable, full and enjoying myself. The food was fresh and tasted great. It's all you can eat and they don't rush you or kick you out or tell you you have a limit which was nice. They encouraged you to eat more! Haha! Will definitely come back, especially since it's easy access by bus.

Yelp
As someone who considers myself a bit of a hot pot connoisseur, I was so excited to hear there was a new AYCE hot pot spot in town! Located in the Pilsen neighborhood, YY Hot Pot offers AYCE hot pot at a reasonable price, with great flavor and a decent selection of meats, seafood, and veggies to choose from! We came here on a Friday evening as a party of six, and the place was about half full. We called ahead and learned they were BYOY, so we grabbed a couple bottles of wine before coming. The place is pretty small, but I think it adds to the charm and family-owned feel. I love that they have a serve-yourself sauce station. Very traditional! After putting in our (frist) order, we went up and whipped up our own sauces for dipping. The food arrived in opposite order that what I'm used to, meaning all the veggies came out first. We did the half-and-half pot and WOW the spicy broth really impressed me. Very flavorful with a great amount of heat. The bone broth was also very clean and tasty. The veggies were fresh, and the meet was flavorful and tender. My only gripe might be that the meat servings were pretty small. We ordered a fair amount, and when the meat arrived, we quickly realized we needed to order more. But it's AYCE so it wasn't a huge issue just to place another order. For price, flavor, and service, this place is a win for me! I'd gladly come back with another group of friends! YY is a great alternative to other hot places in the city that can usually be very crowded!
