Google
Absolutely loved the shop, with amazing fudge and salt water taffy in every flavour you can imagine! We bought a bunch of things for gifting and everyone loved it. The young chap at the counter was friendly, chatty and just the nicest! Will be back next time I'm in SF

If you’re a fan of fudge, get yourself over to Z Cioccolato aka the Five-Star Fudge Factory. Their candies are good, but their fudge is FANTASTIC. This place flaunts some of, if not the best fudge I’ve ever had. They have a wide variety of fudges to choose from, and while I did not feast on every single flavor, I certainly wanted to!!! Peanut Butter Pie Fudge > Dark Latte Fudge > Tiramisu Truffle > Heath & Chocolate Pretzel.

Google
Z Cioccolato Fudge tastes great. We felt the squares are reasonably priced for an order of 12 to be shipped. I've been knocked in a the head a few times in my life, and clearly I can pick out the fudge that's blueberry and raspberry, but some of the other chocolate fudge squares are going to be a mystery since they don't label individual pieces. My hubby is probably going to get one I specifically picked out for myself, but I'll get over it. Fudge for the win!

Google
Wow! This fudge tastes amazing and the company customer service is just as good. Chef Thomas went out of his way to make sure our fudge arrived in time for Father’s Day and we are so glad it did. Every flavor is heavenly! Don’t hesitate to order, you won’t regret it!

Google
The best fudge. I ordered from another company over Christmas. It was OK but I wouldn't have ordered again. I saw an ad for Z. Cioccolato and decided to try it with the March specialized flavors and added the three extra squares of their choice. It's delicious. It lasts a long time and although we have a few bites of the March flavors left over, we couldn't resist May's selection. We ordered 6 selections box and added the 3 of their choice. We got the box today and they added some taffy. My family is excited to try these! Will definitely order again.

Google
Witnessed the owner rudely fire a worker that i had gotten to know very well and had make me feel extremely welcome. This worker was so kind and diligent that he was one of the reasons I loved coming to the shop. The way the owner talked down to his worker made me completely lose any love i had for this store, people that treat their workers with such little respect do not deserve business.

Google
Absolute brilliance on the flavor smash-ups. Smooth & velvety chocolate with very well thought out flavor profiles. The portions are generous, and large enough to share. I ordered the 6 piece tin to share on our family game night and they were a huge hit!!!

Google
Loved loved loved their virtual online Halloween chocolate making class! Chef Thomas was so fun, relatable and simply explained all the steps and why it's recommended that way and all the easy ways to correct any mistakes. Highly recommended to anyone to take the class virtually or in person!

Yelp
Was walking by and their window display caught my eye, so I checked it out after lunch. First, it smells heavenly when you walk in..I was instantly drawn by the fudge display and the girl helping us was super friendly. She offered samples, which I happily tried and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the fudge considering I don't have much of a sweet tooth. They have a huge variety of fudge flavors to choose from and have flavor of the month. I ended up opting for a 6 piece box (see pics for prices) of mango cheesecake, ube, dark chocolate caramel, dark chocolate raspberry swirl, 7 layer peanut butter, and reese's peanut butter cup. My favorite flavor is probably the dark chocolate caramel because it is the least sweet but has so much flavor. Luckily, fudge stays good for a while because a little goes a long way. I was told that it can keep for 3 weeks at room temperature of 6 months in the fridge. This is definitely something to pick up for people with a sweet tooth as a special occasion gift since it is quite pricey.

Yelp
I booked Z. Cioccolato for a team bonding event. We did the private chocolate making class and wine pairing. They hosted it at the wine bar around the corner (cool spot!). The chocolate tasting class with Chef Thomas was great! He was entertaining, taught us about chocolate and techniques, and we each got to make our own chocolates to take home. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients as well as the amount of chocolate we made. I actually ended up taking it to a family dinner to share with some family and friends. This was the perfect team event that I didn't know existed, and it was a lot more fun than just going to a bar for happy hour. I would 10/10 recommend this experience.

Yelp
This place is 100% a must, whether you're a local or a visitor. First of all, Thomas is the best. We came here for the fudge and left with what we felt like was an a new friend lol. He really took his time recommending the different flavors of fudge to us and was so generous in giving us samples. The peanut butter pie fudge is absolutely INSANE. 10/10. Probably found a new obsession. Go here!

Yelp
The yummy smell of this place is what lured us in. We were quickly greeted by the employee and she was very friendly. The store is filled with tons of different types of sweets and cute trinkets. We got two of their most popular fudges (California earthquake & a peanut butter one) and they were both delicious! I also bought my dogs some frosted dog treats and they also thought those were delicious. When paying, the friendly cashier offered me some caramel popcorn to go and of course I accepted her offer. The popcorn was amazing!! Do stop by if your looking for something sweet!

Yelp
While this place describes itself as a chocolatier (which it is), it is a lot more than that. It really offers a number of different things: 1) Handmade chocolates made in-house(dozens of different types) 2) Fudge made in-house (probably a dozen different types of fudge). 3) Candy favorites from other companies (you can pick candy out of many different barrels and pay for it by the pound) 4) Fine chocolate bars made by others (they carry one of my favorite high-end makers, Dick Taylor's 73% dark with brown butter, nibs and sea salt--at about $12/bar). Here is the best thing I have tried recently: Dark Chocolate Fudge with Caramel and Sea Salt: 4/5. I am not a big fan of fudge because it is usually too sweet for me. But because they used dark chocolate and included caramel, I found this one hard to resist. And by the way, they will allow you to taste the fudge before buying which is awesome.

Yelp
Great candy store that makes fudge and sells candy, chocolates, salt water taffy, etc. to get your sweet tooth fix! Service is friendly and helpful!
google avatar

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Delicious! The fudge is so good! There are lots of packaged candies but the real star is the fudge. And you get caramel corn with your purchase. You can try little samples to find the perfect fudge for you. We will be back.

Yelp
During the class, the instructors were super knowledgeable and extremely well prepared with an abundance of chocolate knowledge, tips and tricks. They also had backup options and alternatives to make sure the event would run smoothly despite any hiccups which was fantastic! The selection of candies was interesting and cute to make! We made a bear claw, peanut butter cup, dipped strawberries and oreos per the instructions, and then some extra goodies like dipped goldfish and rice crispies. The chocolate tempering made sense and increased the strength and sheen of the chocolate as well. I personally added flake salt to give the candies an extra dimension to enhance the flavor. My one main area of feedback is that I found the candies to be rather large, and scaling down the size of them by a factor of 3 would help make one item more consumable in one sitting without being overly indulgent; the petiteness should also add to the finesse of these candies, although they may increase the capacity required for technical execution and precision to make. Overall: A

Yelp
This is a very nice candy store, selling, mostly candy, made by others. It was a huge selection, here, penny, candy, upscale, chocolate companies, smarties, twirler sticks, a great selection. The service was wonderful.

Yelp
Z. Cioccolato caught my eye when I saw another Yelpers yummy post. It made me remember my childhood when I use to help an elderly couple across the street from us. I would help them with chores they couldn't do anymore and they would reward me with homemade goodies. One being fudge:) So I decided to put in an order. I got a 9 piece box and upon checkout I got their 3 piece special. So a total of 12 pieces. I ordered 1.Earthquake, 2.Reese's, 3.Dark chocolate salt caramel, 4.Milk sea salt, 5.Coffee cake, 6. Tiramisu, 7. Black panther, 8. German chocolate cake, 9. Heath toffee, 10. Cookies n cream, 11.7 layer pie, & 12. White tiger. So my family and I shared some of each one on different occasions. We all agreed that the fudge is too sweet. Some were definitely better than others but all were very overloaded with sugar on top of more sugar. I remember fudge being sweet but not this sweet. I guess I'm use to chocolate and nuts and not all these fancy add-ins. So if you love sugary sweet treats then these will be right for you. Unfortunately they just weren't for us. It was fun introducing fudge to my fam and rating the flavors but I don't think we'd buy them again. So are ratings are as followed 1-10 1 being not good to 10 being amazing. Earthquake= 7 pretty good Reese's= 7 taste like the candy the only one the kids really liked Coffee cake= 1 not good weird flavor and super sweet no one ate it Tiramisu= 1 no one liked it at all doesn't resemble the cake @ all no one wanted it Dark chocolate sea salt caramel= 6 was good but needs less sugar Milk chocolate sea salt= 6 pretty good flavor Black panther= 4 just way too sweet German chocolate= 8 this one had the flavor of old school fudge that I remember just wish it had less sugar in it and it would have been a 10 Heath toffee- 5 good flavor just too sweet Cookies n cream- 1 this one was so grossly sweet no one could eat it 7 layer pie- 1 so overly sweet like crazy sweet White tiger- 6 good flavor but again wish it was less sweet I also wanted to add that most weighed over 4oz some came in a little under but again most weighed in over 4oz. Just because I saw a few reviews saying otherwise. Definitely don't think they are doing it on purpose. The owner and creator is super friendly and I think he genuinely wants to put smiles on people's faces with his treats. I just hope that maybe in the future he might make some that are less sugary. So we could try them again.

Yelp
Completely chocolate wasted after this delicious class and I LOVE it! Nothing makes me happier than chocolate, especially when it's paired with peanut butter and Carmel. If you're a chocolate lover or if you have a sweet tooth, this class if for you! Our kits were sent to us with all the materials, other than basic kitchen utensils that most people have at home already. They contained their homemade peanut butter, carmels, chocolates, tongs, silicone liners for PB cups, and nuts. As we were walked through what to do via Zoom, it was easy to find the materials we needed and complete each step. Our instructor, Mike was fantastic! He made the class fun, interactive, and it was easy to follow along. All the desserts turned out great! It was all delicious and I can't want to eat more candies later today! :)

Yelp
So much fun! We did a chocolate make class for an company team building activity. It was a blast! It was over zoom and we were sent a box with all the supplies we would need. The chef lead the class and encouraged us all to participate and talk to each other throughout the class which made it even more fun! The chocolate making was easy enough to do without feeling overwhelmed but still produce impressive brag worthy chocolate! Definitely a great team building exercise & even a friend building event!
google avatar

Yelp
I attended a super fun Zoom chocolate making class with Chef Mike! The kits were ordered and shipped to us in advance, and they don't require any refrigeration. The host also provided some extra fruit and goodies for dipping, which was useful since we did end up with a fair amount of extra chocolate. We started with learning how to temper chocolate in two ways, over the stove and with the microwave. As I learned in class, tempering chocolate makes it shiny and more stable. Then Chef Mike walked us through some chocolate dipped items, bear claws, peanut butter cups and chocolate bark with the leftovers. Some of the tasks were easy enough that young children could participate, which made it a fun family affair. I hope to visit the store itself sometime when I'm in the city!

Yelp
I am a big fan of Z Cioccolato! I originally discovered them through a chocolate making class my team and I did together. Chef Mike was great at explaining the chocolate tempering process and guiding us all along the way. The peanut butter cup was sooo delicious, so good that I ended up buying a bunch for my family and friends for the holidays. I had an issue with one of the deliveries and their customer service was great to help fix the situation. I also signed my husband up for the fudge of the month club. Their fudges are also super delicious and all beautiful. My favorite was probably their chocolate peppermint fudge over the holidays. Whether you are local or need to order from them online, highly recommend checking them out, especially for the peanut butter cups!

Yelp
Valentine's Day kicked up my sweet tooth so I started down a rabbit hole looking for some extra special sweet treat to enjoy. I am a decent baker so cakes, pies and cookies were not on the list. I wanted something made with chocolate. I stumbled on Z. Cioccolato and was impressed by their photos and testimonials. Their handcrafted fudge is made in-house in small six pound batches. They were also featured on the cooking channel "Unique Sweets." I am a monthly subscription junkie so it was easy for me to jump right into signing up for their Fudge Of The Month Club. I went with a six month commitment and after receiving my first shipment I am confident that I made the right choice. My first shipment consisted of dark chocolate sea salt caramel, dark chocolate cherry jubilee, raspberry swirl and caramel pecan cheesecake. I loved them all. They exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
This was a surprise spot we stumbled across trekking through North Beach/Russian Hill. The staff were welcoming and cordial and their selection of candy, chocolate and assorted sweets and snacks was pretty incredible. Definitely recommend it as a place to hit up when thinking of buying souvenirs to take back home or to enjoy during your stay in the city.
google avatar

Yelp
Oh man, Z cioccolato has some of the best chocolate I've ever had. It's the ideal mix of not too bitter but not too sweet and a great aftertaste. I was reluctant at first to try this place since I'm super picky about my dark chocolate..but now I'm hooked. I love how it's allergy friendly and vegan too since it makes a perfect gift for friends during the holidays. I had a chocolate making class with my work here and made a ton of chocolate goodies. The class was very fun and we learned a lot about how to temper the chocolate. I'd recommend getting the kit or just sampling some of their chocolate, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Ready...Set...BAKE! I felt as if I was on the Netflix British Bake-Off, yet without being in a hurry or having any skills whatsoever. My employer hosted a Zoom chocolate candy course with Z Cioccolato's founder, Chef Mike. Several days before the online meet-up, we received a box of all the necessary ingredients in the mail to our houses across the US and Canada. All we had to have were the kitchen basics: a microwave, knife, cutting board, spatula, parchment paper, microwavable mixing bowl, and optional fruit. After an hour of step by step guidance provided by the friendly Chef Mike, we had made four bear claws, two peanut butter cups, three dipped Oreos, a chocolate bar with the remaining chocolate, and a mess :X. It was super easy paced and I happened to impress myself--especially since I'm usually not allowed in the kitchen, let alone with a knife! If you're looking for a fun, remote chocolate course, check our Z Cioccolato!

Yelp
Soooo mouthwatering good!!!!! My family was visiting San Francisco and stopped at Z Cioccolato on a food tour. They ended up getting milk chocolate fudge for me. I was thrilled that it survived the flight back to New York and arrived to me in smooth, creamy texture!!!! Holy smokes, it was amazing! It was extremely flavorful and melted right in my mouth. I wouldn't have changed a thing! Highly recommend. They ship!

C M.

Yelp
The best fudge I have ever had! Creamy and a plethora of flavors to choose from. Ordered through the website to send as a Birthday gift and it was well received. I appreciated the fudge was individually wrapped so the different flavors didn't mix and all stayed fresh. I will order again and Z. Cioccolato will be a go to when I need to send a gift in the future.

Yelp
I was given 3 different fudges. Rocky Road, Chocolate Cheesecake Swirl, 7 Layer. They were all too sweet. For people that like really sweet things this fudge is for them. I read some of the other reviews. They said the owners were very nice. I would like to see them make some with less sugar. They have been in business for a while so what they have been doing is working. Lots of people enjoy their food. I give them a lot of credit for being in business in San Francisco for all these years!

Yelp
This review is for the Chocolate Making Class We had a wonderful time with Z Cioccolato doing the chocolate making class/wine tasting held over at Belle Cora. Communication prior was great as they were able to answer all the questions I had, and sent detailed emails for what to expect on the day of. I was a little concerned at first since we had a few non drinkers and some nut allergies in our group. But on the day of we saw that they had made accomodations/substitutions for the nut allergic people, and also had mocktails ready for those who did not drink. It was an enjoyable experience as everyone was able to participate. The flow of chocolate making and wine tasting went at a steady pace, not too fast or too slow. Everything paired well together and the chef and bartender were awesome hosts! We also got to keep all of the chocolates we made so it was a nice souvenior. I definitely recommend this activity for your next group event. There are also plenty of good restaurants in the area, so there is somewhere to go after having all that chocolate and wine :)

Yelp
I love their freshly popped chocolate popcorn. It's so good. I highly recommend it. Walking in, I noticed all the loose candy, primarily barrels of loose taffy in every flavor imaginable. They also have the old fashioned hard candy you used to be able to buy at the grocery store, sold loosely. I also noticed the portraits on the walls, made out of jelly beans and gum, but what I smelled was the aroma of fresh chocolate that permeated the room. They sell what looks like homemade chocolate clusters, peanut butter cups, etc. Really too much to select from. The gal behind the counter said a small bag of chocolate covered popcorn is complimentary with any $5 purchase. I couldn't just walk out empty handed, so I chose a ($8) chocolate bar and got my free bag of popcorn ($2 sold separately). The young, sweet guy and gal duo behind the counter were friendly and very helpful. Must be fun to work in a candy store.

Yelp
If you want chocolate in North Beach this is the place to go. Located right in the heart of North Beach, this shop is easy to find and easy to find all kinds of chocolate orientated items within its walls. They offer a wide variety of candies, with their focus primarily on chocolate. This being said, they also have a nice selection of freshly baked fudge items that they offer on a daily basis. For those of you like candy, this is the place to go. Personally, my favorite item that they offer is, however, chocolate covered popcorn. This is something that they pop fresh daily, and throughout the day. Trust me, it is really good and I really suggest you try it out. Plus, if you spend more than five dollars, they give you a bag of it for free. You can't beat that! Overall, great shop for candy and/or candy orientated items. The staff is always nice and it's a fun place to shop.

Yelp
The fudge of the month club is one of the best deals. I recently signed up as a gift and got nothing but positive feedback from the recipient.

Yelp
Uhhhh..... Can I just say that I am obsessed!?!? I have ordered here twice in the last 2 months... I might have a problem, right? I do have a sweet tooth and enjoy all the finer things and this is definitely one of them. They make gourmet fudge and it is so authentic, I love it. My favorite flavors are the 7 layer PB pie and the Northbeach Raspberry cheesecake. I usually do not like fruity flavored sweets but the raspberry cheesecake was exceptional. Order: I ordered online both times. I bought the box that contains six flavors. You choose each flavor from a list. The total price for the six piece box is $35. Shipping: Free shipping if you spend $25 or more. 5/5 stars, I would definitely recommend this place to others with a big sweet tooth and also if you love the taste and texture of fudge. Side note: The owner Mike is very nice. He responded to my email regarding my order and was more than happy to address my concern. I am very happy to support businesses that are like this. Great customer service. Thank you Mike!

Yelp
My word!!! Sugar Rush phewwwww.... what can I say... I'm a federal lover and hands down this place Nailed it both in texture and flavors! My fave were the toffee infused, your simple milk chocolate and the hubby enjoyed his peanut buttery goodies! Can't say I'm a fan of the cheesecake with raspberry as I prefer real fruit over artificial but if you eat it with the raspberry portions it tastes like a cheesecake down to the crumble Graham cracker crust. If you are not a fudge believer and if you are given an opportunity to try it for the first time or again... I totally recommend this delicious hit you in the spot Fudge Pros...woot

Yelp
Really nice chocolate/candy shop that seems to specialize in creative fudges. I love fudge. I think it's under-rated as a quality dessert in modern America so I like to try some whenever I can. First, this shop has a lot of items and if you're looking for food gifts this is the place to come. We found a few items here to give to people at home. Second, the service is great. The kid behind the counter was super friendly and very patient and informative. Third, the fudge is goooood. I mean really, really good. It holds up pretty well too. We missed a piece in the pantry and at it like 2 weeks after buying and it was still good. Very good.

Yelp
This review is for the Z Cioccolato virtual chocolate making class. I booked an event with Chef Mike for my team at work and it was arguably one of the best virtual group get together's we have had over the course of the pandemic. We planned this with about a month's notice, supplied the mailing addresses for our team members with about two weeks before the event and everyone received their supplies the week of the event. The process beforehand was well organized and communcation with Chef Mike was easy! The event began promptly and ended on time. During our hour with Chef Mike we learned a lot about chocolate and how to make delicious candies with it! The process was very easy and everyone felt very prepared with the supplies and information Chef Mike shared beforehand. It was an absolute pleasure working with Chef Mike! He was able to answer all of our questions and made sure that everyone was moving at the same pace without issues. He was friendly and engaging and knowledgable. If you are considering booking a chocolate making class, DO IT! I highly recommend Z Cioccolato and Chef Mike.

Yelp
This is a review for Z Cioccolato's chocolate making classes over zoom which are perfect for team offsites Mike is highly responsive in organizing the session. The delivery of the chocolate supplies is well ahead of time The actual session is fun and doable for complete chocolate beginners. All you need is a microwave, a large bowl, a large knife, and parchment paper Everything else comes in the kit they send Mike teaches how to temper the chocolate and create different chocolate candies from a big peanut butter cup to chocolate bear paws and turtles. At the end you get to eat the creations We had 13 people in our session and it was a nice way to spend the afternoon together yet apart.

Yelp
I was looking for some gifts for family and was in the mood for chocolate myself while wanting to support local businesses. I found Z Cioccolato and fell in love! I'm a huge fan of their fudge of the month club which is a great gift for someone you love (including yourself.) It's a real treat and smile to get a nice package of 4 chocolates each month in the mail without having to do anything ahead of time--really saves you stress and time and worry. Each one I've had has been delicious, creamy, and complex. I've also begun eyeing their virtual classes for team bonding for work or a sports team--so fun and cute!

Yelp
I highly recommend Z. Cioccolato for both their online Zoom chocolate making class and their fudge! ZOOM CHOCOLATE MAKING CLASS: In the era of COVID, my work team couldn't get together for any holiday gatherings. We're a small team of 4 and it was difficult to find a private event that could fit our small group and had a reasonable minimum or rate. I wanted to find something that was interactive and had a tangible product we could enjoy at the end of our event (was looking more for food or craft classes). My work is SF-based and we also wanted to support local small businesses for our event. After some Yelp searching, I found the North Beach based Z. Cioccolato! I emailed Chef Mike who responded right away. Since we didn't want to have our event until mid-January, he was able to accommodate our smaller group size (usually his minimum is 6 people). He shipped the kits to our homes around the Bay Area in a timely manner after the new year. He was able to give us a Zoom link and our event was recorded. The class itself was very enjoyable! Chef Mike set up the Zoom so there was a camera showing his face as well as a camera showing his kitchen set-up. He gave us some fun and educational chocolate facts throughout the class (i.e. don't put water in the melted chocolate or it will seize, the peanut butter produced by Z. Cioccolato has vanilla and white chocolate in it, most people find 65% dark chocolate to have the perfect balance of sweetness). Since our group was small we were able to go at our own pace of chopping up the chocolate, microwaving the chocolate, and dipping things in chocolate. We went a little over an hour but the time flew by so fast! FUDGE: I also ordered the 6-piece chef's choice box of fudge to try along with my chocolate class kit. I've only had one piece so far but it was soooo good! I need to ration the rest, haha. The piece I had was a mix of chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, and marshmallow. It was sweet but not overwhelming. I loved the different textures of the layers. I will keep these sweets in mind if I want to gift anyone a local SF treat. Overall, check out Z. Cioccolato for a sweet treat or a fun virtual event! I hope to visit their store in person soon when things are safe.

Yelp
Reply to Mike (business owner) - Unfortunately this is 100% true and has been for at least a year. You need to talk to the store staff because they no longer will let you make a custom sample box. I hope you fix it! To be clear I am talking about the small 4 slice boxes - not the big 4 square boxes. I used to love this candy store. It was my favorite in the whole world because of the best in the world English toffee and honeycomb. They also had many flavors of good fudge they sold in boxes of four flavors and you could pick the flavors. Sometime after covid they stopped letting you pick the flavors and they only sell prepackaged sample boxes which is extremely disappointing. I see no reason for this change and they should go back to letting you buy a sample box with the flavors you want.

Yelp
My review is based on the fudge that was sent to me as a gift since I have not been to the actual store. The fudge is super soft, rich and creamy. It's a nice treat to give someone for a birthday or holiday occasion. The 6 pieces were packaged in a tin with the selected flavors marked. As long as you pick a flavor you like, it'll be enjoyable.

Yelp
Z Cioccolato ads have been constantly showing up on my social media feeds, so it was only due time that I would cave in. I honestly don't like fudge. Never did. I gave Z Cioccolato the chance, because I saw that they had a version of s'mores. S'mores, now on the other hand, I love. I placed an order for a 2-pack of s'mores along with a custom pack of fudge, which came with 6 assorted flavors. I chose the 7 Layer PB Pie, White Tiger, Caramel Cookie Dough, Beatnik Bourbon, Banana Bread and Caramel Apple. 7 Layer PB Pie, White Tiger and Caramel Cookie Dough were a few of the "Classic" flavors. Beatnik Bourbon, Banana Bread and Caramel Apple were the seasonal/Fall flavors. I placed the order on a Thursday and received it the following Wednesday. Pro tip: The fudges and s'mores were packaged well, but they did not come with any ice. I kept a close eye on this delivery, so that I could pull it out of the mailbox right away when it arrived. I figured the fudge would remain intact if left out, but the s'mores would melt badly since it was dipped in melted chocolate. Luckily I pulled the order out shortly after it was delivered, so everything was in great condition. I was sorely disappointed with the s'mores, which was funny because it was the product I wanted the most. It was super stale. The graham cracker was sandy and fell apart, and the marshmallow was crispy (lost its fluff) and and really difficult to chew as it kept getting stuck to my teeth. It was so sticky that it was like chewing butterscotch. Only plus side to this was that the graham cracker marshmallow was dipped half-and-half in milk chocolate and dark chocolate, so you got the best of both worlds. Now on to the fudge... honestly, they were the best fudges I ever had. The flavors were spot on, and at least they felt freshly made. I also liked the texture of the fudge, which I found to be gooey. All 6 fudges were excellent, but there were 2 clear favorites for me: 7 Layer PB Pie and Banana Bread. The banana bread was insanely good. The banana flavor really popped out, and the chopped walnuts added a nice crunchy texture. This was one of the lighter ones compared to everything else that tasted really rich to me. The 7 Layer PB Pie though. Never had a fudge anything like it. It had a chocolate layer, a marshmallow layer, oreo layer, peanut butter layer... and I don't even know what the other 3 layers were but who cares. It was just so good. Again, I liked that it had the oreo cookies to give it a crunch. Beatnik Bourbon (pumpkin, bourbon and caramel) and Caramel Apple were enjoyable. They gave me all the seasonal feels. Caramel Cookie Dough was a winner too in my book, because I love edible cookie dough. I thought it had a great balance of cookie dough and caramel. Honorable mention goes to White Tiger consisted of white chocolate, peanut butter and caramel. Totally nothing bad with it - just basic.

Yelp
This is the best fudge I have ever had in my life. I have walked by this shop many times and just thought they sold taffy. While watching a re-broadcast of this local story: "Get world-famous, 7-layer fudge at San Francisco sweet spot Z. Cioccolato" I made an order on a Sunday, and it was in hand by Tuesday. The news story filmed employees as they made small batches of the many fudge flavors. The kicker was when the owner talked about the 2-day delivery. I bought a 6 piece order of fudge. I ordered the seven layers upon layers of peanut butter fudge, Oreo crisp, caramel, marshmallow. It tastes like a cross between peanut butter pie and s'mores. The flavors are so fresh, delicious, and unique. I am still working my way through the box. I may join the fudge of the month club.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the top places I have ever visited to sample fudge. Z. Cioccolato Fudge is famous for their gourmet layered fudges. They have over 100 flavors and ship nationwide. There are a variety of boxes to choose from. I was able to tour the facility and was impressed with the customer service and how knowledgable the staff were. I ordered some fudge to go including their signature 7-Layer Peanut Butter Pie Fudge. Peanut butter fudge, Oreo crisp, caramel, marshmallow, milk chocolate, heath crumble, and peanut butter drizzle make up all seven layers of this delicious treat. This dessert snack is so good that it was featured on Cooking Channel's "Unique Sweets". There are also barrels of taffy and other candy treats available. If you can't make the stop in, take advantage of their online ordering system. Z. Cioccolato also offers chocolate making zoom classes.

Yelp
Z Cioccolato's Zoom Chocolate Making classes are amazing! Mike (who is also the owner) is an awesome host, and the entire experience was really seamless and fun! It was super easy to get it all set up, and all of our materials arrived magically within 1-2 days (we're all located in the Bay). Our team had such a blast! Mike is awesome at balancing informative content with the chocolate making in the class itself. Pacing for the class was great, and Mike's instruction was easy to follow - I especially appreciated the two camera set up so that we could see him talking, as well as the cutting board and chocolate assembly! The treats we made were delicious, and just complex enough to feel a sense of accomplishment :) Highly recommend Mike's classes for any teams looking for some team fun and bonding - this is by far one of the best virtual classes I've done!

Yelp
I loved this place pre-pandemic and would randomly swing by to get a huge bag of candy. Or fudge. Or whatever else they had for sale to satisfy my sweet tooth. It's one of my favorite places in North Beach! My work just recently organized a Zoom chocolate making class, and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. Chef Mike was super patient in explaining how to melt chocolate when you don't have a microwave (even when he had to repeat himself a few times). I now have so many chocolate treats to eat. And I'm super proud of myself for not burning the chocolate or getting melted chocolate all over my kitchen. Anyway, highly recommend the Zoom class, and if you're in the neighborhood, highly recommend swinging by to pick up some sweet treats!

Yelp
I was craving Z Cioccolato fudge . I tried it in my last visit to San Francisco, so I checked if they deliver to some distance away from SF. I was so happy when I found that they ship order to anywhere in the US. I ordered california earthquake fudge,  chocolate caramel brownie, Raspberry cheesecake, Milk chocolate Walnut, Mint Sworl, White Tiger Fudge. I received my order in 5 days. It came in a nice box. All the taste were great but my favorite were white tiger fudge, milk chocolate walnut, California earthquake fudge. They were so perfect, yummy and indulgent If you like mint, mint swirl will be your choice The raspberry and chocolate caramel had nice taste. All of them melted in your mouth I also ordered taffy which was soft and tasty. To be fair it was the best taffy I have ever tried. If you love gourmet fudge, this is the right place Just order your favorite collection and it will be shipped to your place plus you will enjoy the amazing taste Thank you Z Cioccolato for your business

Yelp
I ordered for the first time and the carrier ruined the package so it was unsalvageable. I called and Mike answered the phone and yes it was a real person. He was happy to assist me and got me my order within a couple days. He was very helpful and provided the best customer service I've received ever. I owe a special thanks to Mike and the company Z Cioccolato because this was a gift for my husband and daughter.

Yelp
Super cute chocolate shop in the middle of a touristy part of the city, in little Italy. The shop itself has a wide array of chocolates and other old time candies and gifts. My team and I did a chocolate making class here and it was super fun. Pros: Instructor was clear and really helpful For the amount of people we had doing this class, it was managed really efficiently. We got to take home an awesome selection of chocolates we made ourselves, including peanut butter cups and turtles Their mint Oreo bark is amazing!! Cons: Parking in the city. Nough said. The store itself can be a bit pricey but not surprising given this part of town

Yelp
I booked a candy making class here for my daughter and her friends. For about $45 each, we got to make lots of fun chocolates- turtles, pretzels, a huge peanut butter cup, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate covered oreos. The class lasted about an hour and was great- timed perfectly and you each get a box and a bag to carry your creations home. The store itself has lots of fun items and yummy candies. They make their own fudge fresh and have many great flavors. Their candied popcorn is amazing- and you can smell it the entire time you are in the store. PS- they were full for classes when I tried to sign up, but I emailed the owner and he was happy to fit us in- so don't get discouraged if the class is showing full- he may be able to accommodate you!

Yelp
Great chocolate shop with lots of old school candy. Came here after dinner and had fun walking around, recognizing candy from when I was a kid. I grabbed some fudge which is great if you have a sweet tooth. I got the black panther, but will probably try the milk chocolate next time I come in.

Yelp
Discovered purely by stumbling onto a Facebook ad, I then yelped Z Cioccolato to find that they have a very high rating. That's all I needed to know !! I placed an online order for some samples of their fudge. My husband loves fudge, and it's been years since he's had any, so I figured, what the heck, let's see what they've got !! We ordered a 4-pack of our own selection, and then, as a special, they also sent another (smaller in size) 4 pack of their best sellers..... a very nice selection of flavors for us to sample. Here's what we got....... What we ordered: Bailey's Irish Cream Butterscotch Caramel Chocolate Raspberry Cookies 'n Cream Their best-selling: Peanut Butter Pie Chocolate Fudge w/ walnuts (and I'm embarrassed to say, I don't remember what the other 2 were) They also sent a sampling of their salt water taffy as a nice, unexpected gift. I can tell you, the fudge was VERY good. I wish Yelp would allow us to give 1/2 stars. So often, I'd award in half numbers and not whole. I'd give this place 4.5 easily, but I'm not sold on 5.... and 4 is honestly too low. The one area where they get 5 stars is for adding salt somewhere in the fudge, either thru their mix-ins or just to the fudge itself. So many places don't add any, and it just tastes so sickeningly sweet, which I then hate, but NOT HERE !! They got that part 100% spot on !!! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars across the board is because sometimes, the overall texture was too soft and difficult to cut and kind of messy. The other thing is that I think that on some of their flavors, there were too many flavors or added items, not sure what, but they got lost in the translation. Ironically, it was mostly from their best sellers that I say that. Perhaps that's why I don't recall what the 2 other best selling flavors were that they sent me. I'm not sure I really knew. The 4 that we asked for, I really enjoyed. I think the Bailey's tasted more like a wonderfully flavored coffee, but identical to Bailey's? Not 100%, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The cookies and cream was awesome, and I think our favorite was the butterscotch caramel.... we could definitely taste butterscotch and caramel, and it was delicious. Chocolate raspberry was good, but almost too sweet. The peanut butter pie is definitely one where I'd say too many flavors were competing with each other, and it left me unimpressed. The chocolate fudge with walnuts, well, I'd prefer pecans, but that's just a preference, not knocking the fudge. As for the salt water taffy, the texture was outstanding.... the best I've ever had. My one complaint is that I didn't like some of the flavors. Not only did I not know what I was eating, flavor wise, but some tasted really weird, and I didn't like them.... and I didn't like not knowing what those flavors were supposed to be.... but it was very nice of them to toss a few in for a little surprise. Considering this place came under my radar quite by accident, it was great to sample something new... and from San Francisco...without having to be there to buy it (although, yes, I would LOVE to be in a position to travel). That said, it's nice to know the pandemic has created a whole new world of internet food ordering. I hope this place has much success.

Yelp
If you want some solid fudge or old school candy, definitely make a stop here. The fudge and candy were tasty and the selection can't be beat.

Yelp
My husband ordered a 6 piece box of fudge which was a surprise for me on Valentine's Day. We both agreed the fudge was probably the best fudge we have ever eaten. It tasted fresh and we enjoyed trying the different flavors. But I have to take away a couple stars because this was supposed to be a 1.5 lb box of fudge which means each piece should be 4 ounces. And 5 out of the 6 pieces were less than 4 ounces. I have to wonder... I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt but 5 out of 6 seems like it might be a deceptive practice. I've attached a few pictures.

Yelp
My team recently participated in a chocolate making class with Mike and it was fantastic! Mike was super responsive in setting it up and great in delivering the session. Our treats were delicious and it was of fun doing it remotely as a team. I highly recommend this as a quality and yummy team building event!
