Three beautiful ladies on the main floor and maybe one was training? Not the fastest service but lively atmosphere on a Sunday night! $20 for locals. Womp

Great atmosphere and vibe, but drinks weren’t strong enough for how much they were charging. DJ sucked too, couldn’t keep in time, too many annoying sound effects that just didn’t make sense, and too many sudden changes in mood. This place has potential.

Karly A.

Google
This place was dead on a Saturday night, 2 beers costed $21 USD, and the place smelled so bad it was unbearable. Like farts. Sulphur. Hard boiled eggs. It was disgusting. Lasted about 45 mins there and then left. No one was dancing, DJ was mediocre. He was trying but the club was just dead and boring. The smell was just awful.

Google
First time in Vegas our Uber recommended this place. The dj on the rooftop last night, Saturday night, was everything and super funny. Probably the best dj in Vegas so far played all the good music. We got there towards the end but the music was good and vibe was nice!

I can't think of a better place to enjoy the Las Vegas nightlife than at Zoo Nightclub. The best part about this club? You're sure to meet some new friends while you dance all weekend long!

Tisha Gallow

Google
Visiting from Seattle and was looking for a place to dance on my last night. I called and hit option 2. Some guy BARELY answered the phone and was obviously passed out. I said hello 3 times and he hung up on me without saying anything. I called RIGHT back thinking there was a bad connection. The same guy MUMBLED hello again. I said, "Did I wake you?" He MUMBLED, "No." I said, "are you guys opened tonight?" He MUMBLED, "No." And hung up on me. TACKY and UNPROFESSIONAL!

Horrible Place With Street Fights literally Outside the club with security from the club laughing and taking videos yelling worldstar soo embarrassing to experience while with Co Workers From MGM Entertainment...Dont Go !! Drinks Are Wayy Over Price !!

Yelp
Zai is the like the unassuming corner store that you'd never guess would be stocked with unique, hard-to-find treasures! And once you find out, you can't stop telling others about it! Everything we tried here was absolutely stunning - both in presentation and flavor. And the creativity level... literally WOW! Amazing. My favorite concept was the corn ribs which are grilled just like normal BBQ ribs, and cut with some of the hard corn plant center still attached so they imitate meat-based rib bones. How awesome is that?! We also tried: - Banh mi bao with charcoal buns - Sushi bunker - Pork belly enchiladas - Recommended mocktail Our service was also exceptional! We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, so we got a lot of positive attention. We even met the kingpin chef himself!

Yelp
*** This review is for the Restaurant Week menu 2023 *** I ate out several places during the two week Restaurant Week period. This ranks with the top two or three. I had a reservation for 5:15 and I got there a few minutes before. I was given the option of sitting at the bar or one of their two tops. I chose to sit at a table with my back to Fremont Street. I was asked about water and a drink. When I asked for iced tea, my server, Maya, told me they didn't have iced tea. Instead, I got a diet Coke. When she brought the Coke, she also brought a glass of water. I told her I wanted to do the RW menu. There was nothing to order as the menu was set with one item per four courses. I was first brought the corn ribs. This is unique to me. They cut the corn cobs into quarters, put on the seasonings for Mexican street corn, and then heat the quarters. During the heating, the pieces tend to bend. A warning--they come out blisteringly hot. Use care if you pick them up immediately. And, have your napkin ready--you'll need it. The spices are on point and the dish is very good. While I was eating one of the corn ribs, Maya came with two courses, the bánh mi pork sliders and the Nashville shrimp. The sliders have thick cubes of pork belly with as the menu says--fixings and chile de arbol kewpie. The Nashville shrimp are pieces of fried shrimp with honey yum yum sauce, and it's on a bed of their slaw. For dessert, there is the chocorol. It's a roll of thin chocolate cake filled with hazelnut cream with strawberry coulis and some fresh strawberries and blueberries. A fitting end to a large and very tasty meal. Chef Benny came to the table twice to check on how I liked the food. He's a very personable guy. He also stopped at other tables to talk with them. I'm not sure how much he can do this when they're very busy, but it is always nice to meet the executive chef. Service was very pleasant. The one drawback for me was bringing the pork sliders and the shrimp at the same time. It did give me a chance to let the corn ribs cool so I could pick them up easier, but my sliders and shrimp weren't as hot as I went back and forth between a slider and some shrimp. After finishing the corn and the dessert, I went to the men's room to wash up. The corn will get your fingers messy, and it's such a good messy! This was a fitting end to my RW experiences and it was a great way to end. Chef Benny waved as I left. Check the historical marker in the sidewalk at their entrance. The city added several on Fremont Street years ago.

Yelp
First, if you're vegetarian or vegan this is NOT the place for you. We went as a large group of 16 ppl as part of a 40th bday celebration, and the restaurant was not prepared to handle such a large group. Our waitress, Natalie, was great, but the service was incredibly slow and they were out of many dishes, including the corn ribs, which is one of their only signature vegetarian dishes. The manager came to check on us at the end of the meal, and one of us politely mentioned that the service had been slow, and his response was "yeah, because we're busy" with no apology. This was despite having many empty tables throughout the restaurant. As far as the food, we ordered the fries, hummus, and edamame to share, and I ordered the agnolotti without the pancetta. The hummus was really good, but didn't come with enough pita bread and it took too long to get more. The edamame had a really nice kick and the fries were thick cut, long strips that were good, but nothing amazing. The agnolotti was the worst dish...bland and more like mushroom soup with a few pcs of agnolotti inside. I also ordered the only mocktail available because I'm not drinking right now and it was horrible. It just tasted like flavored syrup with water. As a side note, if you're vegan, there is virtually nothing for you, except possibly the hummus without the egg.

Yelp
So first off this place is like "Firefly" everything on the menu is app size & it the food comes out as it's made so not everyone at the table will get their food at the same time. My husband ordered the steak it was okay & I had to wait another 20mins for my burger & it didn't come out the way I ordered it @ that point I was just starving & just took it. The service isn't that great but it's a new restaurant so hopefully they can get that figured out soon. The food is definitely instagramable but as far as taste goes ehhhh doesn't live up to the hype for me personally. The drinks tasted just like juice nothing to rave about. The best part was the dessert but I've never had a bad dessert lol We might go back & try their rooftop but as far as the restaurant goes I'd pass.

Yelp
Zai is Latin-American gastronomy kitchen Led by Chef Noe Alcala. We went during soft-opening and both service and food quality was on point. A few standouts were the homemade tortellinis with a creamy mushroom sauce, the roasted elote with lime pop rocks, and the octopus with squid aioli and romesco. The drinks were also well-crafted and had a hard time deciding which one was our favorite. (It's the coffee one mixed with tea!) Another unique concept is that 20% of their dishes are improvised nightly and the chefs are encouraged to create dishes depending on the ingredients available for the day. Everything is made in-house, and everything is created with passion. They also have a club upstairs ready to cater you after downing a few cocktails and tequila!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
The security and the lady at the front were soo rude to my friends and I . The lady tried charging us to get in after we had bottle service and the security guard was PUSHING my girlfriends and I , guarding us so we couldn't get into the club because we didn't pay but we had a whole bottle and hookah, the security also called us out our names and was just very rude and un professional .

Ariel B.

Yelp
Service was amazing, food was just ok. Meet a girlfriend for dinner. Natalie was really friendly and informative about the menu. Unfortunately the food was a little disappointing. We ordered the corn ribs, scallop appetizer, bunker sushi roll and the bao sliders. The corn ribs were just ok. A little undercooked and not enough flavor. The scallop dish just didn't quite work. Didn't love the texture(s) or the combo of flavors. The bao sliders were good. And the sushi roll was just ok (tastes more like a fancy California roll but too pricy). Might try it out again. The menu has interesting items and again the service was great. And comfy environment.

Michelle F.

Yelp
Came here thinking it was Zoo nightclub. Nonetheless, the cover to get in was a scam. One guy quoted one price, then the lady charged a completely different price even though she was sitting right next to the guy who quoted the original fee- go figure. Once you walk up the steep stairs you enter the venue, they have indoor area that surrounds the bar and an outdoor rooftop area where the DJ is playing. Plenty of floor space to dance on and the bartenders are attentive. The restroom did not have soap or paper towels, a stall was out of service and overflowing onto the floor, the restroom mirror was covered in a film with white spots. Overall an okay place that needs to make major improvements.

Steve V.

Yelp
Can't even keep a reservation. Don't waste your time or money with this wantabe makeshift restaurant. Worst customer service ever. There are so many other places downtown with better food, and people who care...don't let social media fool you.

Antonio L.

Yelp
Went here for my 12 year anniversary. Neat little spot in downtown. Hostess was very kind and our waitress was awesome. Food was on point. Loves the tomatoes (there take on caprese salad). Ended with the Shibuya dessert which was honey toast with a scoop of ice cream. Simple and very satisfying. We just did tapas, but would definitely come back to get through the dinner menu. We were pretty full after a few appetizers. Finally I really like that they plate the food on a counter exposed to the whole restaurant so you can see them perform the finishing touches on your food that come from the kitchen. Awesome ambiance!!

La Toya L.

Yelp
Myself and group had dinner here on a Friday night. Beautiful setting that has a nightclub is housed upstairs on the rooftop. The food was plated beautifully and it was savory. The drinks are gorgeous and deliciously strong. The service was good and attentive.

Gabby M.

Yelp
I was able to try Zai at their soft opening and it was amazing! The restaurant looks beautiful and the seating was very comfortable. Our meal started with an amuse bouche from the chef and it really got us excited for our meal to come. It was a shrimp rice cake that had perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors. The servings are generous and I had no complaints on any of the items that we ordered. A standout for me were the corn ribs. They had pop rocks on them that gave a nice surprise after your first bite. Overall I would definitely will be coming back to try everything else they have to offer.

Lauren D.

Yelp
The food? Incredible. The vibe? Iconic. The folks? Welcoming. If you're looking for a delicious downtown spot full of life, you've found it. The elote-inspired corn ribs were scrumptious but my personal favorite bite was the salmon tar tar on crispy rice -- impeccably balanced. Specialty cocktail menu does not disappoint, either. There's something for everyone, but I highly recommend trying the "twisted coffee" drink. You might not think lemon + espresso mixes but TRUST ME. I will be going back as soon as possible

Ana V.

Yelp
Great food and friendly staff. Me and my hubby have zero complaints. Zai was such a good vibe to enjoy dinner. *quick edit- The cocktail drinks were amazing!

Patty T.

Yelp
Came out to their soft opening, and we were not disappointed. Starting from the moment you walk in this place, the atmosphere was phenomenal. We started off with some drinks, and of course, we tried all their signature drinks at least once. If you ask me, their Tio Yoyo is a must try as it was delicious and refreshing. Moving onto the food. Everything you order, you can definitely share with one another (even though once you taste it, you really won't want to with how amazing the food tasted). Food wise, I highly recommend the Nashville Shrimp and the Cok-a-doodle Sliders. The service was terrific, and with the help of our waitress, she had some very good recommendations to try. This is a must visit spot if you're in Vegas and in the mood for a great dinner or even just wanna enjoy a few drinks. Will definitely be back soon!

Farah N.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance! Come here for a date, a gathering, just by urself, first date, date night, last date! The place smells heavenly! The dishes are delectable... don't panic when u get a pinch of something... that's not what u ordered! Fantastic new spot, done right...

Cheyenne R.

Yelp
Finally a great new restaurant downtown! ZAI seriously does it all five stars -- great service, ambiance, and of course: FOOD. Gastronomy with attitude is the perfect tagline for this place: nothing too off putting sounding on the menu in terms of pairings or flavor combinations, but enough to keep you intrigued. The ambiance is A+ as well, great soundtrack and space. Ordered the sushi bunker, nashville shrimp, and bao buns and can't wait to try more. All were presented and paired beautifully, and all were filling enough to share and delicious. The menu itself is large and adventurous; we're excited to come back. We had the Traviezo cocktail: strong, not sweet, unique in flavor. Highly recommend it for a tequila cocktail. Ordered it throughout dinner. Brownie points for an amuse bouche. Our server, Jesse, was awesome! We'll be back soon.

Will B.

Yelp
First off, the service is fantastic and very lax. Our waitress Jules was an absolute treat and was on top of making sure we were taken care of. We started with the corn ribs and they were phenomenal (sorry they didn't last long enough for a picture). To the entrée, I ordered their steak medium. This was a masterpiece with the perfect portioning of sauce to meat and the flavor was to die for with a coffee demi glace. The side was mashed potatoes with a chimichurri butter and pesto topped with handmade potatoe chips to add a difference in texture. To finish off with the dessert we order the Chocorol. The dessert in its separate parts was to be expected flavor wise but together made a beautiful melody of flavor.

Adam M.

Yelp
This place was awesome. Overall great ambiance and the appetizer of Nashville shrimp was so good very spicy and nice and salty. Ordered a drink and it was delicious. The main dish of salmon just did not fit the restaurant. I'm sorry, but it looks like a microwave TV dinner. It said quail egg, but it just looked like a small chicken egg. Too sweet of a sauce on the salmon and the rice was boring. The salmon was actually cooked perfectly so kudos to that. Upgrade that dish to match the restaurant and this place gets 5 stars. I was a little worried about how long it took the food to come out. The restaurant was only 10% full. Service was great. I would still come back.

Ark R.

Yelp
Update : Owner called me and refund the money . He said the person who charged me doesn't work there anymore ( don't know what happened) . He was very sorry about it . Like I said , I had good time but charging my card like that didn't sit well with me . They are in nice location and they have roof top vibe . Will I go there again , yes . Will I pay by credit card (ummm may be no . I'll just pay cash ).

Jen N.

Yelp
Great inspirations on food! Very tasty and what I liked the most it was different! Great flavors! Excellent service, every one was very attentive! The atmosphere was also very enjoyable! Best is their round beer for the kitchen crew! Almost hidden gem in Las Vegas! Happy that we came here and we will come back and n our next trip!

Jodi B.

Yelp
Outstanding!!! Hope this place does well! Their concept of food It truly amazing and mouth watering! Leaving you to want more! The corn ribs were my favorite but the scallops and steak were close behind! A little mexico seafood flare in Vegas!

Coach Dave P.

Yelp
We went to ZAI for their new comedy club shows before they become a nightclub. The headliner comedian Don Burnhart has the comedy night. It was fantastic! All the comedians were great. Also there's $29.95 all you can drink for 90 minutes with premium bar!! Highly recommend!

Levi I.

Yelp
First time here and so far not disappointed...great ambience and smooth service keeps the flow going. Signature cocktails and unique plates are abundant. Another fantastic downtown location for a nice libation

Jessie E.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. My husband really enjoyed the food. I thought it was good, but nothing amazing and it was a bit all over the place for me. Like corn ribs, sushi, Nashville chicken, just didn't flow well for me. They serve the food on large mirrors that take up too much space on the small tables. Our server was super friendly and attentive.

Sabreena H.

Yelp
We absolutely adore ZAI! It's located perfectly near the downtown area, just across from Container Park. We had made reservations for a big party to celebrate a graduation, and boy were we delighted. The ambiance at ZAI is just so cute and inviting. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the incredible Chef Benny himself, and his hospitality was nothing short of amazing. He really elevated our dining experience to a whole new level. Trust us when we say, you absolutely have to order the mussels - the sauce they come in is simply divine! It's so good, we wish we could spray it on everything. Oh, and don't miss out on the rooftop bar! You get a perfect view of Fremont East. Thank you, thank you, thank you Chef Benny!

Raymond J.

Yelp
This place was such a find!! I went here with a group of about 15 while we were in Vegas for a friends lifting competition. It was hard to find a place in Vegas that could accommodate us in such short notice but they made it work. The food was the steak was one of the most tender I have ever had. Speaking with others in the group they really loved their orders too. The chef came out to greet us and chat with us and that made the experience 10 times better. He's a great guy who really cares about his food. The servers where incredibly attentive and experienced they new how to take to all the people in the group and really made the vibe so fun. Honestly I would Highly recommend this place. There is literally a parking lot right across.

Riley C.

Yelp
HOLY SHIT SO GOOD! The vibe, service, food, and presentation was off the charts. Everything we ate 10/10. Here's what we had - Corn Ribs Edamame Cok a doodle sliders Fries Boneless wings Hamburger Crispy chicken DELICIOUS

Chanelle P.

Yelp
Do yourself a solid and order a Bora Bora and the seafood risotto, you won't regret it. So good! Great ambiance and service.

Dana J.

Yelp
Perfect Gem off the Vegas Strip. ZAI is located downtown a few blocks from Fremont Experience directly across the street from Container Park. They have a small amount of outdoor seating but we opted to sit inside. The hostess was very welcoming and our waitress was fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect but I knew I wanted to try somewhere new and I wasn't disappointed. I didn't even get to take a picture of everything we ordered but all the food was delicious. We ordered the corn ribs, crispy chicken, spicy sushi( I forgot the actual name) and the scallop entree (which is a cold entree, delicious I just wasn't expecting it to be cold) One alcoholic drink and one soft drink and the bill was only $97 definitely much better than Vegas strip prices. There is parking directly across the street. I think there is a rooftop that opens after 8pm daily I will have to come back and try that one day. Definitely try this place you won't be disappointed.

Richard A.

Yelp
Visited with a group of 10 and was surprised at how timely we were seated and served. Food was above average and reasonably priced -- augmented with great service and tasty drinks.

Donna N.

Yelp
Zai has our vote. Seated in a cozy corner by charming Natalie, we chose salmon with passion fruit glaze, Banh Mi Bao (pork belly fused with chile de arbol kewpie). Ribbons salad and corn ribs along with some amazing cocktails. If you're lucky, Executive Chef Benny Graves might enlighten you on an imaginative cuisine pairing tastes and spices from Asia, the Middle East and Mexico.

Christina P.

Yelp
Nice spot for fun interesting flavors. Cool aesthetic. Corn ribs were good, as were the giant fries. Drinks were tasty. Seafood risotto was delicious. Server was attentive. Only thing I didn't appreciate was all the cursing in the music--that will probably keep me from coming back.

Kati V.

Yelp
Hidden little gem! The location is perfectly established right across the street from Container Park, the staff is friendly, and the ambiance is full of color and texture, definitely social media-friendly. I will definitely post picture soon!

Beth W.

Yelp
Went for dinner. Great food, beverages, and service. We had a large group and it was perfect. There were several other large groups, and everyone was having a good time.

Christian F.

Yelp
Very good food attentive service good bar nice ambiance that is a welcoming oasis from the hustle and bustle on Fremont Street. We will be back next month!

Sabrina S.

Yelp
The transcending of your taste buds as you bite into the delicious, rich, unique combinations or flavors, spices, and ingredients puts you in a trance as you enjoy the well presented plates. The drinks are delicious and the service is bad none. Our server Ryliegh was amazing and that smile as she greets you and checks in to see how you are doing warms the atmosphere. Definitely Zia's a must on your trip Vegas.

Andrea T.

Yelp
Absolutely blown away by the dishes! I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Unique flavors and it all somehow works together.

Vanja S.

Yelp
OK, kind of embarrassed that I didn't know about this place. It seems that it's been around for more than a year. I guess, I will blame it on the Covid like everything else! The place has just the most amazing food. Service was on point! We even met the owners, super nice and even got a personal tour of the party place upstairs! The place is so cool and trendy inside. I honestly thought any minute somebody famous was going to show up. It's just that cool! The chef came out personally to asked us about our meal. I cannot wait to go back!!! I mean check out these plates below!! Say what??!!!

Nellie M.

Yelp
First time here and it was great! Cocktails were cute and delicious. Food hit the mark. The best part was upstairs after 10pm. DJ, drinks AND hookah!! Sundays are Latin night for anyone looking for a good one. Will definitely be back!

Alec A.

Yelp
Very inventive menu, good food and prices! Recommend the steak sando, sushi. Corn ribs were amazing, would go back just for those!

Hiba S.

Yelp
We had a beautiful experience at the opening of this new restaurant. All the dishes are like an explosion of flavor in your mouth (and quite literally if you order the corn ribs, which are aaaamazing, because there are hidden sprinkles of pop rocks that explode on your tongue). Definitely don't miss out on those. I also highly recommend the scallop appetizer, it was refreshing, delicate, and delightful, and the tuna tataki, which had a beautiful little kick to it. Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Perfect date night or night out with friends. You'll want to do it family style so you can taste as many things as possible. Nothing like it!

Jorge D.

Yelp
Hidden gem. Great little spot in Fremont. Fantastic food. Full of flavor. Impecable service. Will definitely go again.

Keith K.

Yelp
The chef is excellent! Gave me a wonton to taste and it was amazing! The flavors exploded in my mouth. The bartender was extremely passionate about his drinks. Explaining to another patron how he created his syrups and what the taste was he was looking for...WOW!Ordered the Banh Mi Bao and it was good.

Gregory J.

Yelp
The short corn appetizer was exceptional. Great atmosphere. Duck confit enchiladas were meh- could use a sweeter sauce to compliment the duck. The steak was very tender, and the sauce was tasty. Not sure if the pesto on the potatoes worked out not. The fried milk was hands down one of the most unique and flavorful desserts I have had in a very long time! Great service

Michelle O.

Yelp
Shut up and take my money. This place is phenomenal! Ambiance, food, margaritas, service all were 5 stars. We will definitely be back. Super fun fusion of flavors and you get all the layers with out it being weird. We did reservations for 4 @ 6:00 pm on a Friday. it wasn't busy and probably didn't need a reservation but as word gets out about this place that could change. It was filling up as we left. The owner does the final presentation of the food as it comes out from the kitchen and you can tell he loves to share his gift with others. My mother in law is a tough food critic and hard to please. Even she loved this place! That's a huge compliment. This is my new favorite joint in North Vegas!

D J.

Yelp
Service was great and very friendly. Creative and tasty cuisine. Creative and delicious drink selection Cool atmosphere. Fun place.

Cristina R.

Yelp
The ambiance is casual. Food, drinks, and service are great. A must try. Right in front of the container park.

Angel A.

Yelp
Great ambiance, great food, Chef Noe's service is exceptional! LOVE the cocktails, & the decor is Instagram-worthy-- & the fact that there is a nightclub upstairs: A BIG PLUS
